It was a big week in AAA. A big debut. A big match. And the biggest announcement since the company was purchased by WWE. The debut was by La Catalina, who appeared on both Raw and NXT years ago and has now jumped from CMLL to challenge Flammer for the Reina de Reinas Championship. The big match saw Penta defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against Vikingo. And the big announcement saw El Grande Americano challenge Original Grnade Americano to a mascara contra mascara match that will probably be AAA’s biggest match of the year. This week’s episode is bit of a diversion as we take a partial break from TNA Impact. We’ll stop there to watch the opener—an eight-man pitting Mike Santana & Leon Slater & Trey Miguel & Moose against members of Order 43 and the System. It’s a good reminder of how good TNA can be at its best, but then there’s a reminder of how bad it can be at its worst. Then we head south of the border to AAA, where the theme of the night is international trios matches—first Japan vs. Puerto Rico, then the United Kingdom vs. the European Union. Oh, and Flammer defends the Reina de Reinas championship in about as much time as it took you to read this blurb. Come join the party on the Big Vinny V Show!

Sacrifice, the latest app special from TNA wrestling, started off great but then kept getting worse until the main event ended in disaster. Steve Maclin’s injury is the biggest news coming out of the show, but even before that we had terrible booking, wretched finishes, boring matches, and preposterous backstage segments. Everyone should go out of their way to watch Eric Young vs. Leon Slater, because Young is one of the most underrated wrestlers of the last 20 years and Slater is TNA’s brightest hope for a future star, but there’s nothing else here to recommend. We’ll get through it on the Big Vinny V Show!

With their next app special just around the corner, TNA has some work to do putting a card together. To that end, Impact has Mike Santana and Steve Maclin sitting down for a chat, a banged-up Moose continuing to work his way through the System, a meaningless tag match thrown together featuring four random dudes, and the usual idiotic booking from Santino Marella. Elsewhere, there’s the in-ring debut of Mr. Elegance; Mike Jackson, in 2026, still being great; Elayna Black wrestling both Jada Stone and her own gear; and Ryan Nemeth winning a match, with his finish. Yes, the Impact reviews are back for another week … and it’s a good thing, too, because this was the best episode of the AMC era. The main event saw Moose and Cedric Alexander tear things up in an Atlanta Street Fight, but the show was stolen by a trios match pitting Order 4 against Trey Miguel & Rich Swann & BDE. We also had two other fun matches: Hardys vs. Sinner & Saint, and AJ Francis vs. Elijah. Mind you, there was plenty of stupid stuff too: the Steve Maclin storyline gets even dumber, Santino is a horrible GM, and there was a completely incomprehensible Rosemary segment. We’ll take in the good, the bad, and the ugly on the new Big Vinny V Show!

Another week, another round of brain cells sacrificed before the altar of terrible television. The biggest story in TNA these days involves a guy who was fired and then kept committing assault being not only hired back, but also granted a championship match on the main event of a pay per view. It’s a storyline so stupid even the show’s own announcers can’t hide their disgust. And while two dueling authority figures who hate each other somehow worked together to pull that off, two other authority figures apparently signed their soul over to a teleporting demon. There was some good wrestling (Nic Nemeth vs. Leon Slater, a four-way tag match) and some bad wrestling (Elayna Black vs. Mara Sade) but that hardly seems to matter anymore. We’ll suffer through it and then discuss the future of the Big Vinny V Show!

The focus of TNA Impact this week was less on wrestling and more on angles and storylines, none of which made the slightest bit of sense. Why was Alisha Edwards ready to quit, only to suddenly change her mind so she could manage Moose, who is feuding with her husband? Why is Santino still employed when all of his decisions turn into disasters? Why is Daria Rae, the heel, the one to point out his incompetence, and how is that supposed to make me dislike her? And for the love of God, why is the show practically built around Steve Maclin, who was supposed to be fired weeks ago? The last one is most important, because the live crowd turned on what was supposed to be a main event segment and turned it into a joke. Along the way, there was some decent wrestling, but it hardly seems relevant. We’ll suffer through it on the Big Vinny V Show!

TNA Impact was a pretty forgettable show this week—except for the main event, which featured a stipulation you’re not going to see very often. Apparently, you can buy a casket shaped like a guitar case, and TNA got one and used it for a blowoff match between Elijah and Mustafa Ali. And what a blowoff it was, as TNA showed how to put a guy over in dominant fashion and make him look like a superstar … though there are questions of why they chose this particular guy to do it with. Elsewhere, Indi Hartwell battles Heather by Elegance; Trey Miguel defends the International title against former champion Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo; Jodi Threatt faces Tessa Blanchard; and Sinner & Saint return to take on the new team of Rich Swann & BDE. TNA No Surrender in a nutshell: the stuff you expected to deliver did, and the stuff you didn’t expect to deliver was much, much better than expected. It wouldn’t be TNA without some illogical booking and nonsensical backstage segments, but the in-ring material was so good that none of that mattered. The main event pitted TNA World Champion Mike Santana and X Division champion Leon Slater against Nic Nemeth & Eddie Edwards in an ECW throwback match with a cast of thousands doing run-ins, interference, and returns. We also saw the Hardys and the Righteous operating as a shockingly good team to take on Order 4. But the real story was the contributions from people you’d least expect, such as Indi Hartwell, Arianna Grace, and most of all, the great Mike Jackson. Come join the fun on the Big Vinny V Show!

Heading into the first app special in the AMC era, TNA presented an episode of Impact with some good wrestling, some baffling booking, and some insufferable backstage segments. The good wrestling included Trey Miguel vs. Adam Brooks, Mustafa Ali and Jada Stone shining in a mixed tag team match, and a Knockouts trios match that showed how to work smarter, not harder. The baffling booking included builds for a bunch of matches and programs that are apparently not going to be a part of No Surrender. And the backstage segments included several minutes of TV time devoted to a guy who was fired last week and what looked like a deliberate attempt to make the babyface authority figure as unlikeable as possible. Impact had some highs and lows this week, but the street fight pitting the former members of Fir$t Cla$$ against each other was one of the peaks. Other highs included Nic Nemeth vs. BDE in a shockingly good match, plus Jason Hotch of Order 4 vs. Elijah. As for the lows, we had Stacks vs. Home Town Man in a dull, repetitive angle disguised as a match; Elayna Black showing the flaws in WWE’s developmental system; and the idiotic fallout to the Feast or Fired match. Oh, and a bunch of wacky backstage skits. We’ll explain it all on the Big Vinny V Show!

The debut of TNA Impact on AMC was a clunker, but their second try was much better. There was a lot of fun wrestling: Cedric Alexander vs. Moose; Indi Hartwell vs. M by Elegance (no, really!); the Feast or Fired match, which was a lot of fun to watch even if the idea behind it is still ridiculously stupid; and Jeff Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali. There was an excellent promo by Mike Santana. And there were some big angles causing some much-needed shake-ups, including a main event segment that gave a very necessary hard reboot to a main event act that had grown terribly stale. It may be old news by now, but the debut of TNA Impact on AMC still warrants plenty of discussion. With barely 20 minutes of wrestling stretched thin across two hours, was anything on this show successful? We’ll talk about those three wrestling matches—the Hardys & Elijah vs. Order 4, the Iinspiration vs. the Elegance Brand for the Knockouts tag titles, and Mike Santana challenging Frankie Kazarian for the world heavyweight title—and how they all could have gone better. And we’ll also look at all the talking, and I do mean ALL the talking. AJ Styles! A bunch of actors I’ve never heard of! WWE castoffs you barely remember, rehashing angles you’d love to forget! The thrilling payoff to the search for Mr. Elegance, which made no sense to regular viewers or newcomers! And the long-awaited return of Dixie Carter! So no, nothing was successful. But we’re going to talk about it anyway on the Big Vinny V Show!

How many times in two hours can one reviewer ask “What did I just watch?” The answer, apparently, is “several.” TNA’s last episode of Impact on AXS TV featured very little wrestling, a whole lot of talking, a bunch of wacky skits, some goofy angles, and some nonsensical booking. Wouldn’t be TNA without all that, I guess. When the dust settled, TNA was left entering the with a world championship match in flux for their debut on AMC and no main event booked for the Genesis pay per view two days later. But they do have the Righteous getting a title shot they didn’t want a few weeks ago, Ryan Nemeth’s ongoing feud with Mara Sade, Elijah and his horse chasing Order 4 in slow motion, an unnamed man declaring that he must save the Elegance Brand, and an angle signaling the end of Fir$t Cla$$. We’ll try to make sense of it all on the Big Vinny V Show!

The focus of TNA Impact the past few weeks was to make Bear Bronson look like a star. It worked in the short term, but will it last through 2026? Let’s break down Bronson’s match against Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to find what worked, what didn’t, and where we all might go from here. Elsewhere on the show: Santino is sad but still does his job in the same half-assed and illogical manner; the Angel Warriors battle the Elegance Brand; the Rascalz battle each other for an X Division title shot; and the Righteous waste a lot of TV time.
