Description

Vincent Verhei, the long-suffering co-host of the Bryan & Vinny Show, has finally gone solo! No longer held back by the confines of a pro wrestling chat show, Big Vinny V’s unfettered artistic genius is free at last to discuss … well, mostly pro wrestling still, but covering different shows than he was before, from WWE to Japan to US indies to classic matches or whatever else falls across his radar. However, this is not simply a wrestling show, no, no, no. Vinny is a well-rounded individual who will also examine the NFL, comic books, kaiju movies, video games, streaming comedies, fattening foods, and random esoteric minutia of interest only to himself and a handful of others. There are thousands of podcasts in the world, but only one is hosted by a superheavyweight, a MENSA member, a world traveler, a cat lover, a carjacking survivor, and your loyal friend—it’s THE BIG VINNY V SHOW!

Big Vinny V: Can Bear Bronson be a star for TNA?
2026/01/06
The focus of TNA Impact the past few weeks was to make Bear Bronson look like a star. It worked in the short term, but will it last through 2026? Let’s break down Bronson’s match against Frankie Kazarian for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship to find what worked, what didn’t, and where we all might go from here. Elsewhere on the show: Santino is sad but still does his job in the same half-assed and illogical manner; the Angel Warriors battle the Elegance Brand; the Rascalz battle each other for an X Division title shot; and the Righteous waste a lot of TV time. We’ll break it all down on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Bizarre episode of Impact ends TNA’s AXS TV era
2026/01/13
How many times in two hours can one reviewer ask “What did I just watch?” The answer, apparently, is “several.” TNA’s last episode of Impact on AXS TV featured very little wrestling, a whole lot of talking, a bunch of wacky skits, some goofy angles, and some nonsensical booking. Wouldn’t be TNA without all that, I guess. When the dust settled, TNA was left entering the with a world championship match in flux for their debut on AMC and no main event booked for the Genesis pay per view two days later. But they do have the Righteous getting a title shot they didn’t want a few weeks ago, Ryan Nemeth’s ongoing feud with Mara Sade, Elijah and his horse chasing Order 4 in slow motion, an unnamed man declaring that he must save the Elegance Brand, and an angle signaling the end of Fir$t Cla$$. We’ll try to make sense of it all on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Well, let's talk the TNA Impact debut on AMC
2026/01/20
It may be old news by now, but the debut of TNA Impact on AMC still warrants plenty of discussion. With barely 20 minutes of wrestling stretched thin across two hours, was anything on this show successful? We’ll talk about those three wrestling matches—the Hardys & Elijah vs. Order 4, the Iinspiration vs. the Elegance Brand for the Knockouts tag titles, and Mike Santana challenging Frankie Kazarian for the world heavyweight title—and how they all could have gone better. And we’ll also look at all the talking, and I do mean ALL the talking. AJ Styles! A bunch of actors I’ve never heard of! WWE castoffs you barely remember, rehashing angles you’d love to forget! The thrilling payoff to the search for Mr. Elegance, which made no sense to regular viewers or newcomers! And the long-awaited return of Dixie Carter! So no, nothing was successful. But we’re going to talk about it anyway on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact much better in Week 2 on AMC
2026/01/27
The debut of TNA Impact on AMC was a clunker, but their second try was much better. There was a lot of fun wrestling: Cedric Alexander vs. Moose; Indi Hartwell vs. M by Elegance (no, really!); the Feast or Fired match, which was a lot of fun to watch even if the idea behind it is still ridiculously stupid; and Jeff Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali. There was an excellent promo by Mike Santana. And there were some big angles causing some much-needed shake-ups, including a main event segment that gave a very necessary hard reboot to a main event act that had grown terribly stale. Let’s break it all down on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Rich Swann vs. AJ Francis
2026/02/03
Impact had some highs and lows this week, but the street fight pitting the former members of Fir$t Cla$$ against each other was one of the peaks. Other highs included Nic Nemeth vs. BDE in a shockingly good match, plus Jason Hotch of Order 4 vs. Elijah. As for the lows, we had Stacks vs. Home Town Man in a dull, repetitive angle disguised as a match; Elayna Black showing the flaws in WWE’s developmental system; and the idiotic fallout to the Feast or Fired match. Oh, and a bunch of wacky backstage skits. We’ll explain it all on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Early highlights of NJPW's G1 Climax
2025/07/22
The biggest annual tournament in pro wrestling is underway. With two nights of New Japan's G1 Climax in the books, let's look at some of the early highlights. That includes four matches from Night 1 (Oleg Boltin vs. Yuya Uemura, Gabe Kidd vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Ren Narita, and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Taichi) and two from Night 2 (El Phantasmo vs. Konosuke Takeshita and Taichi vs. Yuya Uemura). Two Takeshita matches? Makes sense. Two Taichi matches? That’s surprising. Come join the fun on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Austin vs. KUSHIDA, Lots of Talking
2025/01/07
Somebody at TNA Wrestling decided it would be a good idea to keep the wrestling to a minimum on a two-hour wrestling show. Your full card: Ryan Nemeth vs. Rhino, Ace Austin vs. Kushida, and an eight-woman knockouts tag. Yes, that's it. In between, we have a Joe Hendry promo, a Jordynne Grace promo, a Rascalz promo, a Moose promo, a Kazarian promo, a Nic Nemeth promo, and several minutes of a random eight-year-old tag match. We will try to make it exciting on a brand new Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Joe Hendry the Focus of TNA Impact
2025/01/14
Heading into Genesis, one of their biggest shows ever, TNA Wrestling used this week's Impact to make Joe Hendry look like a main-event star, not just a viral influencer on social media. That starts with a lengthy video package highlighting Hendry's charisma, courage, and legit background in combat sports; it ends with a dominant performance in a main event tag match, teaming with Rhino against World Champion Nic Nemeth and his kid brother Ryan. We'll look at what worked about it, and what could have been done better. Also: the System continue their feud against Maclin, Young, and Gresham, the three veterans who really need a nickname; Lei Ying Lee returns to face Savannah Evans; Mike Santana faces the Northern Armory in a gauntlet match; the Good Hands battle the Rascalz; Moose defends the X Division title; and Jordynne Grace and Tessa Blanchard brawl some more. All this and more on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Filthy Tom Lawlor joins the show to review Smackdown, Collision
2025/01/21
It's a special edition of the show with a very special guest: MMA and pro wrestling vet Filthy Tom Lawlor! We'll start with WWE Smackdown, a very long show that featured Kevin Owens vs. Rey Mysterio in a first-time matchup and Tiffany Stratton's defending the women's title for the first time as she faces off against Bailey. Then we'll cover AEW Collision, which opened with the latest (final?) great match in the career of Christopher Daniels; closed with a hot 12-man tag highlighting the guy who might be the company's new hero; and didn't have much to offer in between. All this and more on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Hendry vs. Cardona
2025/01/28
Heavy lies the head that wears the crown -- no sooner has Joe Hendry won the TNA World Title than he finds himself defending it against Matt Cardona on the latest episode of TNA Impact. We also have a knockouts trios match that sets up Masha Slamovich's next challenger, an invader from NXT; Josh Alexander explaining why he quit TNA and then, apparently, un-quitting; a short, big-name tag match that sets up a new challenger for Moose, the X Division champion; the resolution of 23, PCO's departure, and an indie star making his national TV debut; FRAXIOM defending the NXT tag team titles against the Rascalz in an EXCELLENT wrestling match with a dumb finish; a former X Division champion returning, apparently to feud with Mike Santana; and the TV format that instantly makes Impact a leader for best weekly wrestling show in 2025. All this and more on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Fir$t Cla$$ vs. Nemeths
2025/02/04
Nic Nemeth appears for the first time since losing the world championship and his little brother immediately gets him into trouble, running his mouth and picking a fight that didn’t need to happen. Things deteriorate from there. Elsewhere, we get to witness Cora Jade, Ring General; Leon Slater face Brian Myers, with the rest of the System making their presence known; Sami Callihan and Mance Warner keep fighting; Mustafa Ali, in his first TNA match since July, squares off with Laredo Kid; Josh Alexander teams with Eric Young against The Northern Armory but finds only disappointment (again); and NXT’s Wes Lee battles Ace Austin in an interpromotional battle that I loved even if the live crowd didn’t. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with FRAXIOM vs. Nemeth Bros.
2025/02/11
NXT Tag Team champions Nathan Frazer & AXIOM were one of the best duos in the world last year. What happens when they defend their belts against multiple-time world champion Nic Nemeth? Oh, and his brother too. PLUS: Joe Hendry's concert is shockingly interrupted by a new challenger; Ace Austin shows how awesome he is against NXT's Tyson Dupont; a Knockouts battle royal to name a new challenger for Masha Slamovich; Josh Alexander sets the stage for his last TNA match ever, for real this time; a new star emerges when Leon Slater teams with the Hardy Boys to face the System; Mustafa Ali starts to form his coalition; and Matt Cardona faces Mike Santana. All this and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: Josh Alexander's Farewell to TNA
2025/02/18
It's the last match in the promotions for one of the biggest stars in TNA history ... so why did it feel so underwhelming? We'll review Alexander's match against Eric Young, as well as Joe Hendry defending the TNA title against Jake Something; tragedy striking (literally) Santino Marella; the By Elegance Brand faces former NWA women's tag team champions, the King Bees; Mustafa Ali officially announces his new Cabinet; Frankie Kazarian, Mance Warner, and Sami Callihan wasting my time; JDC starting trouble with Leon Slater; Xia Brookside taking on NXT's Cora Jade; and Savannah Evans challenging Masha Slamovich. Wow, that's a lot of stuff to cover. We'll get to all that and more on the latest Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with Lots of New Names
2025/02/25
The power is out in North Bend but we’re going to barrel on through! That means it’s time to review TNA Impact, where a bunch of new names made their debuts and jumped right into the main event. Elijah (fka The Drifter, fka Elias, fka Ezekiel) teams up with Joe Hendry, first in concert, then in the ring, where they take on Eddie and Orlando Colon (fka Primo and Epico, fka Los Matadores, etc.) Elsewhere, Dupont & Igwe from NXT face the Rascalz; Fir$t Cla$$ introduces their new interview segment by interviewing themselves and their friends; Rosemary faces Lei Ying Lee; Eric Young and the Northern Armory explain their actions; Mustafa Ali uncomfortably crashes Mike Santana’s meeting; JDC battles Leon Slater in a hell of a no-DQ match; Tessa Blanchard does not wrestle but Masha Slamovich does; and the latest developments in the wacky world of Ryan Nemeth. All that and more on the Big Vinny V Show!

Big Vinny V: TNA Impact with build for Sacrifice
2025/03/04
The build for TNA's next app special includes a lot of company veterans, a few new faces, and plenty of guest stars from NXT. That starts with Moose, who now has a challenge to NXT champion Oba Femi and a ladder match for the X Division title against Jeff Hardy on his plate. Elsewhere, Joe Hendry finds Elijah extremely sus; Mike Santana battles NXT’s Oro Mensah, then faces harassment from Mustafa Ali; Tessa Blanchard finally wrestles; Steve Maclin faces KC Navarro with The Northern Armory lurking in the shadows; Spitfire battles the By Elegance brand with the Knockouts tag titles and 24 hours of concierge duty on the line; Frankie Kazarian and Ace Austin meet to see whose wheels are spinning most furiously; and a multi-person TV main event sets up an even bigger multi-person main event at Sacrifice. We’ll break it down on the latest Big Vinny V Show!
