Living What I Teach: Why I’m Pausing the Dare Yourself Podcast
2026/10/13
After nearly six years of podcasting, I've decided to pause Dare Yourself, and I want to share why.
In this personal episode, I reflect on what happens when something that once energized you begins to feel like an obligation, why I've learned to pay attention to that feeling, and how it can be a sign that you've outgrown something and are ready to expand.
Because often, the desire to reinvent doesn't begin with clarity about what's next. It begins with the feeling that what you're doing no longer fits.
I share what this means for me, a dare for you to consider in your own work and life, and my gratitude to everyone who has been part of this podcast journey.
Thank you for being here. I'm excited to share what comes next.
The "Not There Yet" Trap: Creating From Play vs. Pressure, Releasing Old Beliefs & Making Miracles Possible with Dr. Steven Young
2026/09/29
No matter how much you accomplish, there's a voice that says you're not there yet. I lived from that voice for 40 years, all the way into burnout. My guest has spent 37 years understanding where that voice comes from and how to live and create from a different place.
Dr. Steve Young has treated over 9,000 patients holistically and studies how our mind, body, and spirit work as one. When I asked him how he wanted to be introduced, he sent me one line: "Steve Young, like all humans, is just humaning as best as he can."
We talk about:
Where the feeling of "not there yet" actually comes from, and why nothing you accomplish makes it go awayA one-word identity shift that changes how your work feels, whether you're building a company or answering email all dayThe stories you've been wearing as your identity, and who you meet when you take one offLearn more about Dr. Steve Young and his work: drsteveyoung.com

Walk With Me: The Expertise Amnesia That Makes You Feel Like a Beginner
2026/09/15
When you start something new, it’s easy to feel like a beginner.
I see this all the time with incredibly accomplished people. They leave the company, role, or career where they developed their expertise, and suddenly it feels like all that expertise stayed behind.
I call this Expertise Amnesia.
In this Walk With Me episode, I’m inviting you to think about:
Why starting something new can make you forget how much expertise and experience you already haveHow Expertise Amnesia can affect the way you talk about your work, what you go after, and even what you chargeWhat’s already on your “palette”: the experiences, wisdom, judgment, and natural gifts you get to bring with you into whatever you create nextYou may be doing something you’ve never done before. But you are never starting from scratch.

What Do You Do When the Life You Built No Longer Fits - with Mark J. Platten
2026/09/01
How long have you been waiting for the right moment to start the thing that's calling you?
Mark Platten built a career most people would envy, first as an Air Force officer, then in academia and international consulting. Then one ordinary afternoon in his backyard, he heard one sentence that named what he already knew: you're doing good work in the world, it's just not your soul work.
Today Mark writes, leads men's work, and guides people through their crossroads, the place I call the goo. What makes this conversation rare is that he's sharing from the middle of it, not from the polished other side.
We talk about:
The moment Mark realized he was living two different lives, and the two years he spent finding reasons to stay in the wrong oneThe challenges and the beauty of shifting from doing what you should to doing what is calling to youTwo practices anyone can use to connect with their younger selves and the subconscious that's quietly running the showLearn more about Mark and his work:

Wired for Money with Michelle Masters
2026/08/18
What if money was never meant to be hard?
SPECIAL NOTE: Toward the end of this episode, Michelle Masters walks you through an actual practice to begin releasing the blocks you carry around money, so this is one to listen to when you can be still for a few minutes and let it land.
Michelle has spent three decades helping people understand why money feels so hard and where our blocks around money come from. Her answers are not what you expect.
The deepest blocks don't live in your bank account or your habits. They live in old childhood beliefs, in loyalty to the people you came from, and in your sense of what you quietly believe you deserve.
In this conversation, we talk about:
Why the deepest money blocks are subconscious, and why working harder, budgeting, and affirmations so often fail to move themHow family and ancestral loyalty quietly caps what you let yourself earn and receive, and how to spot it running in your own lifeA reframe that can soften years of money guilt, plus the guided practice Michelle walks you through to begin releasing those blocksAnd much more.
This is a conversation about telling yourself the truth about what you really want, money included, and letting yourself create your next chapter without carrying everyone else's story on your shoulders.

Walk With Me: How Your Story About Your Past Shapes What You Create Next
2026/08/04
In this Walk With Me episode, recorded on the 37th anniversary of the day I arrived in the United States as a refugee, I share the shift I experienced when I began to tell my story through a different lens.
For years, I told the story of coming to the US as a refugee as one of overcoming struggle.
But when I looked at it through a different lens, that chapter reveal something I missed for almost four decades. Recognizing it has already expanded what I'm creating now.
In this episode, I'm inviting you to think about:
The story you're telling right now about your hardest chapter, and what it's quietly costing your next oneWhy the same facts can shrink your future or expand it, depending on the lens you chooseWhat you were creating during the exact years you thought you were only surviving🚀 Ready to create your next chapter? https://www.natalykogan.com/create-your-next

Walk With Me: What Would You Do If You Had 10x the Courage?
2026/07/21
In this Walk With Me episode, I'm asking you the question I ask every keynote audience when we talk about envisioning new possibilities.
I've watched thousands of people answer it, and the same two feelings show up every single time. Most people treat the second feeling as a stop sign. It's the opposite.
In this episode, I'm inviting you to think about:
- Why we stop envisioning new possibilities for ourselves
- What the two feelings that show up when you imagine something new are telling you about your next
- How to answer your brain when it demands to know exactly how you'll pull this off

The Skeptic's Guide to Surrender: Sam Kukathas on Collapsing Time and Creating From Ease
2026/07/14
For most of us, when we feel stuck, the instinct is to do more and try harder. Sam Kukathas built his whole practice on the opposite idea: that the life you want is already here, buried under everything you've picked up along the way.
Sam is a master of frequency attunement and the creator of Neuroresonance Optimization. He spent 13 years as a philosopher, with a doctorate in law at Oxford, living inside the head of an 18th-century Scotsman, before a series of unexpected awakenings led him to use his voice to help people quiet the mind and come home to themselves.
In this conversation we move through his darkest chapter and into what he calls collapsing time, and I even experience his sound work live on the episode.
We talk about:
Why the harder you push to "figure it out," the more the answer stays out of reachWhat surrender actually asks of you, and why it terrifies the high-achieving, analytical mind mostThe difference between becoming someone new and unbecoming everything that was never really you---

The Parts You're Hiding Are the Most Powerful Parts of You
2026/07/07
Somewhere along the way, you decided that certain parts of you don't belong in your work.
I made that same deal for most of my career: I kept my art, my spiritual practice, and other dimensions of who I am locked away from my professional life because I was afraid I'd lose credibility.
Then I made a decision that changed everything about how I work and live.
In this episode, I share the story I held back for years, including the book cover I deliberately chose so my art would blend into the background, and what happened at my Art of Expansion retreat when six women leaders experienced what I could only create by finally bringing every part of myself into the room.
I talk about:
The dimension of yourself you've been keeping out of your work, and what all that filtering is quietly costing you in energy, ideas, and impactWhy the parts of you that feel like they "don't fit" are exactly what make you and your work distinctiveHow to tell the difference between staying credible and staying smallAnd I leave you with a dare for the week. It's a little scary, but that’s the point!

Walk With Me: The Word Shift That Takes You from Self-Doubt to Self-Trust
2026/06/30
The words we use impact our feelings, choices, and actions more than we realize.
In this Walk With Me episode, recorded during my walk after leading my Art of Expansion retreat, I'm sharing a practice we did together that shifted the energy in the room immediately. It begins with something so simple it almost sounds like it couldn't possibly work. It does.
In this short, unedited episode, I'm inviting you to think about:
The words you're using right now to describe where you are and what they're costing youWhy the smallest language shifts can create the biggest internal changesHow to move from feeling helpless or lost into a place of real agency💥 Download my free From Stuck to Sparked guide: https://www.natalykogan.com/from-stuck-to-sparked-guide-download

Your Brain on Uncertainty: Why a Fully Predictable Life Would Actually Be Terrible
2026/06/23
Imagine a world where nothing unexpected could ever happen to you. Every conversation, every outcome, fully predictable. Sounds peaceful, until it doesn't.
In this episode, I share a thought experiment neuroscientists call the Dark Room problem, and what it reveals about a strange contradiction in all of us: we say we hate uncertainty, yet we seek it out constantly and even pay for it.
The science of why explains something powerful about what your brain actually rewards you for, and why waiting to feel certain before you start something new means skipping the best part.

Your Someday Dream Is a Today Calling: My First Art Show at 50
2026/06/16
What if you never have to feel ready to start the thing you most want?
For my 50th birthday, I dared myself to have my first big international art show, with no gallery and no idea how I'd pull it off, after a decade of quietly painting in my basement and calling it "just a hobby." Here's how it happened, and what it taught me about creating your next: you decide what you want, then take the first small step.
In this episode, you'll learn how to:
Start the thing you want before you feel readyClaim your calling out loud instead of calling it "just a hobby"Move through the fear of being seen as your true selfTake the first small step when you don't have a planYou don't need a plan or permission to begin. You just need to decide what you want and take one small step toward it.

How Paula Dared to Create When Her World Fell Apart
2026/06/09
What does it look like to dare to create something when your world has just fallen apart?
Paula Harwell lost her husband — her person, her soulmate of nearly 30 years — and in the months that followed she joined my Unleash Your Next accelerator and chose to move forward. She didn't wait to feel healed. She didn't wait to feel ready. She decided that action and healing aren't opposites.
And then Paula did something even more remarkable: she helped her son Cooper fulfill his dream of becoming a published author.
In this conversation, Paula and I talk about what it actually means to carry grief and joy at the same table, the limiting beliefs that nearly stopped the book, and what she would say to anyone who is waiting to feel better before they dare to begin.

Walk With Me: The Subtle Ways You're Undervaluing Yourself (And What It's Costing You)
2026/06/02
There's something most of us do — often quietly, without even noticing — that tells us we're not worth the life we're actually trying to build.
In this Walk With Me episode, I'm sharing a moment from a recent keynote that's been with me ever since. A woman dared herself to do something so simple it sounds almost too small to matter, and yet it said everything about the belief underneath.
I did the same thing for years with my art. You're probably doing it somewhere in your life too.
In this short, unedited episode, I’m inviting you to think about:
Where you're quietly underinvesting in yourself and what you loveHow a single small belief shapes every choice you make without you realizing itWhat it actually means to honor your work — and yourself

Coming Home to Yourself — Celinne Da Costa on the Burning Ground
2026/05/26
At 25, Celinne Da Costa left her corporate career, her apartment, and her relationship — and spent nine months couch-surfing with 70 strangers across 18 countries, running toward something she couldn't yet name.
What she found became her book, The Burning Ground.
In this conversation, Celinne and I go beneath the movie-like story to what's actually underneath it.
We explore:
- Why wherever you go, there you are — and what it takes to actually face the patterns you keep recreating
- How strangers became mirrors that reflected back the gifts Celinne didn't know she had
- Why your story is a map, not the truth — and what changes when you stop letting it speak for you
- What the burning ground actually is, and why it might be exactly where you're standing right now
- Why purpose isn't found — it's walked into, one aligned step at a time
This one is for anyone who has been waiting to feel ready before they dare to move.
