Episode 89 — New Format, Same Two Dads
2026/10/06
Things are changing a little around here. Sean kicks off Episode 89 with a bit of housekeeping and explains how Dad Crossing is going to work from here on out — one episode a week, dropping on a Tuesday, and alternating between our Everyday Life episodes and Dad Topic episodes. Once all the sensible stuff is out of the way, we get back to what we do best… Catching up and talking absolute nonsense. Nick gives us an update on how his current weight loss journey is going, while Sean talks a little about how he’s been feeling over the last week and also takes a moment to apologise for last week’s episode arriving a bit later than planned. From there, as always, the conversation wanders wherever it feels like going. There are life updates, dad chat, tangents, laughs and all the usual bits that somehow find their way into an Everyday Life episode. So while the way the episodes come out might be changing… The two dads behind the microphones definitely aren’t. Sit back, relax, grab yourself a brew and listen to your two favourite dads just cutting the breeze. Episode 88 — Muted Mics, Medals & Minor Surgery
2026/10/02
It’s another one of those longer catch-up episodes because Sean and Nick haven’t had a proper chance to sit down and chat for a while. And naturally, we start things off in the most Dad Crossing way possible… By realising we’d spent the first few minutes talking without actually recording any sound. Don’t worry though — you didn’t miss much. Honest. 😂 Once the microphones are definitely working, Nick gets us up to speed with his daughter’s soccer tournament, where her team managed to come away as runners-up — a brilliant result and definitely something worth celebrating. Sean then somehow takes us from LEGO Smart Bricks to a small amount of toe surgery happening at work, which is probably a sentence that only makes sense on this podcast. From there, we catch up on some much-needed family time, the games we’ve both been playing, what life has been throwing at us lately, and some of the things we’ve got planned coming up. As usual, there are plenty of tangents, plenty of laughs and absolutely no guarantee we stay on topic for very long. So grab a brew, kick back, relax if you can, and come hang out with your favourite two dads for Episode 88. Dad Life 87-2 — How Young Is Too Young?
2026/09/16
This week’s Dad Life takes us into one of those parenting conversations where there really doesn’t seem to be a simple answer. After coming across the story of a Virginia mum who allowed her 5-year-old son to walk to a nearby pond by himself, Sean and Nick found themselves asking the obvious question… Would we let our kids do that at five? And if the answer is no… when does it become okay? The guys talk through how much independence they’re comfortable giving their own kids, whether age is even the best way of judging when a child is ready, and how much things like where you live, the distance involved and the individual kid should factor into that decision. Then there’s the slightly awkward bit… Because when Sean and Nick think back to what they were doing as young’uns, things were definitely a little different. 😂 Were kids given more freedom back then? Are parents more cautious now? Or were our parents just slightly more relaxed about whether we returned home in one piece? And while neither of the guys is completely comfortable with the idea of a 5-year-old wandering off alone, they also question whether the punishment handed to the mum in this case was proportionate to what actually happened. So prepare yourselves for plenty of umming, ahhing and changing our minds mid-sentence as two dads attempt to navigate a parenting question with a lot more grey than black and white. Because sometimes Dad Life isn’t about having the answer… It’s about trying to work out where the line actually is. Dad Life 87-2 — How Young Is Too Young? Everyday Life 87-1 — Foldables, Fixes & Work Woes
2026/09/14
Sean and Nick are back for another catch-up, and this week there’s plenty to get through! First up, Apple has apparently decided that what everyone really needs is a very expensive device that folds in half. Sean is firmly in the “yeah… that’s probably not for me” camp, while Nick is already looking at it like something that might mysteriously find its way into his hands somewhere down the line. From expensive tech to considerably less glamorous problems, the guys also catch up on some DIY that hasn’t exactly gone to plan over the last week — because nothing says adulthood quite like starting what should be a simple job and immediately questioning every decision that led you there. Sean also manages to squeeze in his customary moan about work — because it simply wouldn’t be an Everyday Life episode without one. But it’s not all doom, gloom and questionable home improvements… Both of the guys have actually managed to fit in some gaming, so at least something has gone right! All that, plenty of tangents, and whatever else happens to creep into the conversation along the way. Grab a brew and come hang out with us for Everyday Life 87-1 — Foldables, Fixes & Work Woes! Dad Life 86-2 — It’s Back to School You Go!
2026/09/09
For once… we actually managed to record a Dad Life episode! 🎉 And with the summer holidays over, there was really only one place to start: It’s back to school you go! After weeks of later nights, longer lie-ins and routines slowly disappearing into the abyss, it’s time to start dragging the kiddos back towards something resembling normality. We chat about getting bedtimes and mornings back under control, what the kids are actually looking forward to about being back at school, and — probably more importantly — what they’re really not looking forward to. But while we were talking about how much the kids need routine, we realised something… So do we. Turns out dads are creatures of habit too. Long school breaks can completely throw off the rhythm of everyday life, from mornings and meal times to work, exercise, gaming and just generally knowing what day of the week it is. So while the kids might be heading back into classrooms, we’re also trying to get ourselves back into the swing of normal life. So tuck in your shirt, polish your shoes and sharpen your pencils… Because class is officially back in session. 🎒✏️ Social Media: Facebook - https://bit.ly/DadCrossing  X - https://bit.ly/Dadcrossing  TikTok - https://bit.ly/DaDcrossing   Discord - https://bit.ly/Dadcrossing-Discord  Email:  [email protected]  Website: www.dadcrossing.com
Everyday Life 86-1 — No Rush, Just Rambling
2026/09/07
For the first time in what feels like forever, Sean and Nick finally get the chance to just sit down and chat. No recording from holiday. No clock watching. No kids deciding that somebody suddenly needs to be somewhere. No reason to rush whatsoever. And, as it turns out, giving the two of us unlimited time might have been a terrible idea. 😂 We’re entirely unapologetic for the sheer number of tangents this episode takes because, honestly, we were both far too excited about finally being able to properly catch up without something bringing the conversation to an abrupt end. One topic becomes another, which becomes another, which somehow leads us somewhere completely unrelated… and before we know it, we’ve recorded an absolute lengthy boy of an episode. So get comfy, grab yourself a biiiiig brew, and settle in for Sean and Nick doing what they apparently do best — talking absolute bollocks and seeing where the conversation takes them. It’s a long one. 😉 That’s what she said. Everyday Life 85 - Vacation life
2026/08/31
It’s a slightly shorter Everyday Life this week, and our only episode of the week, because Sean is away in Wales with the family — but apparently even going on holiday isn’t enough to escape podcast duties! Sean managed to squeeze in a bit of time to jump on with Nick and give us the full update on how Lyndsey’s surprise 40th party went, whether all that planning actually paid off, and what the family have been getting up to so far on their Welsh getaway. Nick brings us up to speed with what he’s been playing recently and how the kiddos have taken to heading back to school and getting themselves back into the routine. And then, in perfect Dad Crossing fashion, Sean’s power went out mid-recording and he simply vanished from the podcast. 😂 So Nick was left holding the fort and keeping things going until the Welsh electricity supply decided whether Sean was allowed back. A shorter one, a slightly more chaotic one, but still plenty of catching up from both sides of the Atlantic. Come hang out with us for Everyday Life Episode 85! Everyday Life 84 - Ketchup Life
2026/08/24
We’re back with another Everyday Life episode, and after a couple of slightly different weeks it feels like there’s a lot to catch up on. Last time we properly checked in, Nick was mentally preparing himself for camp while Sean was winding down and getting ready for a very busy few weeks of holidays, birthdays and trying to keep surprises… well, actually surprising. So how did it all go? Nick finally gets to report back from camp, while Sean has been deep in full-on dad and husband mode with Lyndsey’s 40th celebrations, surprise planning and the usual last-minute chaos that somehow comes with trying to organise something nice. Throw in gaming, gym updates, kids, questionable decisions and all the other random conversations that somehow become part of an Everyday Life episode, and we’ve got plenty to get through. No big topic. No real plan. Just two dads catching up on life, taking the piss out of each other and inevitably disappearing down several completely unrelated rabbit holes along the way. It’s good to be back. Episode 83 — Daddy-Daughter Special with Nick & Ariel
2026/08/14
This week’s episode is another Daddy-Daughter special, and this time Nick is joined by his daughter, Ariel! Get ready for a wholesome, funny, and slightly chaotic chat as we find out what happens when father and daughter take over the microphones together. We talk about who is actually funnier, what on earth is meant by “infinite bodies”, and plenty more brilliant moments that only make sense when you hear them unfold. It’s one of those episodes that reminds you how special the dad-and-kid bond can be — full of little jokes, unexpected answers, genuine laughs, and that lovely feeling of listening to two best friends who just happen to be father and daughter. So come hang out with Nick and Ariel for a fun, warm, and properly wholesome Dad Crossing episode. Dad Life 82-2 — Things Dads Take Weirdly Seriously
2026/08/05
This week on Dad Life, we’re talking about the completely normal, totally reasonable things dads take far too seriously. You know the ones: 🌱 Getting the lawn stripes perfectly straight 🍽️ Loading the dishwasher the correct way 🔥 Maintaining the ideal BBQ temperature 🚗 Parking with surgical precision 🌡️ Protecting the thermostat from unnecessary interference 🔌 Coiling an extension lead without creating a tangled monstrosity Why do these things matter so much? Why does watching someone load a dishwasher badly raise our blood pressure? And why does every dad believe their method is the only method worth using? Unfortunately, we had to cut the episode slightly short when Sean’s boy emerged from his bedroom and redecorated the hallway with the contents of his stomach — because nothing brings a podcast recording to an end quite like sudden dad duty. That also explains why this episode has arrived a little later than planned. Our apologies, but as always, family comes first. So straighten those lawn stripes, check the thermostat, and come laugh along as we unpack the strangely serious world of dad habits. Everyday Life 82-1 — Camp Countdown, Holiday Mode & One Last Gaming Session
2026/08/03
This week on Everyday Life, Nick and Sean catch up on everything that’s been going on over the last seven days as they both prepare for very different kinds of chaos. Nick is mentally getting himself ready for camp next week, which means plenty of planning, organising, and trying to convince himself he’s fully prepared for whatever is about to be thrown his way. Meanwhile, Sean is starting to wind down ahead of a surprise holiday, while also attempting to squeeze in as much gym time and gaming as humanly possible before switching into full holiday mode. It’s another relaxed catch-up filled with life updates, dad chat, gaming, fitness, and the usual tangents that somehow take us miles away from where we started. So grab a brew, get comfortable, and come hang out with us before next week’s chaos begins. Dad Life 81-2 — When Did Our Kids Become People?!
2026/07/22
That’s right — we actually managed it… a double episode week! This week on Dad Life, we’re talking about that strange parenting moment when you suddenly realise your kids aren’t just little kids anymore. They’ve got proper opinions. Their own sense of humour. Music tastes you may or may not approve of. Strong views on the world. And worst of all… arguments that are sometimes annoyingly logical. We chat about those little moments that make you stop and think, “Hang on… when did you become an actual person?” From having real conversations instead of one-word answers, to watching their personalities develop, seeing their confidence grow, and realising they’re starting to make choices completely independent of you — it’s equal parts amazing, hilarious, and slightly terrifying. There’s pride in seeing them grow, but also that bittersweet feeling of missing the tiny version of them that needed you for absolutely everything. So come get all warm and fuzzy with us as we share the moments where our babies suddenly started becoming proper little humans — and somehow, far too quickly, all grown up. Everyday Life 81-1 — Football Heartbreak, Healing & The Dad Crossing Lifting Club
2026/07/21
This week on Everyday Life, we’re back catching up on another busy week of dad life, gaming, work, and everything in between. We kick things off by talking about England’s World Cup journey, the disappointment of defeat, and ultimately finishing in 3rd place. It might not have ended exactly how we wanted, but there’s still plenty to be proud of! Nick gives us an update on his healing and recovery journey, while Sean proceeds to absolutely thrill everybody with fascinating tales of… working hard all week. Riveting podcast content, we know. BUT — Sean does actually have some pretty exciting news! Dad Crossing has officially teamed up with Power Fitness UK! 💪 So if you’re in the UK, fancy treating yourself to some awesome new gym gear, and want to unofficially join the Dad Crossing Lifting Club, you can use: 🏋️ Code: DXCLUB10 for 10% off your order with Power Fitness UK. Whether you’re smashing PBs, trying to stay fit between school runs, or simply want some decent gear while pretending you know what you’re doing in the gym — we’ve got you covered. All that plus our usual tangents, laughs, and two average dads catching up on another week of life. Grab a brew, get comfortable, and come hang out with us! Everyday Life Episode 80 — Surgery Stories, Theatre Camp & an England Win
2026/07/13
This week’s episode is another one-off, as real life once again had absolutely no respect for our usual schedule. Nick’s surgery and recovery, theatre camp for the kiddos, and the show they performed meant things were already fairly hectic. Then Sean added to the chaos by taking his eldest to the pub to watch England take on Norway — and thankfully, they got the win! But being short on time certainly didn’t leave us short on things to talk about. Nick fills us in on all his antics from before and after surgery, while Sean shares what he got up to during his final free weekend before the UK school holidays begin. We also find time to chat about the games we’re looking forward to playing soon, alongside the usual tangents, laughs, and everyday dad-life chaos. So grab a drink, get comfortable, and come hang out with us for another full-length catch-up. Everyday Life Episode 79 — Info Dumps, July 4th & Sending Love to Nick
2026/07/06
This week’s episode is another one of those longer catch-ups — because life got in the way, as it so often does. We missed last week while Sean celebrated his eldest turning 20 (how is that even possible?!), and then our schedules decided they had absolutely no interest in lining up. So after some July 4th fun, a busy week of fixing things for Nick, and Sean doing his usual running around helping everyone he can, we finally sat down and just… info dumped. It’s one of those classic Everyday Life episodes where there’s no big plan, no major structure, just two dads catching up on everything that’s been happening and trying to make sense of another hectic couple of weeks. By the time you’re listening, Nick could potentially be undergoing surgery, so please take a moment to keep him in your thoughts. We love you, man. ❤️ So pull up a chair, make yourself an Earl Grey, and settle in for a long, relaxed catch-up with your two favourite average joes.
