Carl "The Intern" Middleman- Blues DJ for 30 Years
2026/10/02
A Blues star of game presentation since the late 90s. He’s known to radio listeners as Carl “The Intern”. Carl Middleman has been the music coordinator of the Blues since 1996…and is very instrumental behind-the-scenes in what you experience in the way of audio enjoyment while at Enterprise Center. And…importantly.. he’s in charge of setting off the goal horn when the Blues score. We get to know him better...and talk hockey game music philosophy. Enjoy! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The Arena- 1929-1999
2026/09/18
The Arena on St. Louis' Oakland Avenue was a special place, and the original home of the St. Louis Blues. Of course, it hosted much more than professional hockey. It was "the old barn" to many. And the nickname had a reason behind it. We remember the St. Louis Arena...and tell some stories about it...from its beginning to its end. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. He's a Pest, and Proud of It! Tyson Nash
2026/09/04
He was a hockey "pest" in the late 90s and early 2000s for the Blues...later the Coyotes. He's gone on to be one of hockey's elite communicators. Tyson Nash talks about his career and life, including some great and funny stories. He was a frequent visitor of your PA guy in the penalty box during his playing days. Enjoy the memories with Tyson Nash! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

Hockey Hall-of-Famer Emile "The Cat" Francis w/Susie Mathieu
2026/08/21
Emile "The Cat" Francis was a Vice President and General Manager for the Blues during the franchise's most turbulent period in the late 1970's and early 80's. This after a mostly minor-league playing career as a goaltender. Susie Mathieu, a Blues Hall of Famer, worked alongside him as PR and Communications Director during that time and tells some great stories about Mr. Francis. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1982. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

90s Star Geoff Courtnall
2026/08/07
A Victoria, BC native, Geoff Courtnall had two stints with the Blues. A short one in '90 before the ill-fated multi-player deal with Vancouver, and another longer run in the mid-to late 90s after signing as a free agent. A gritty, do-whatever-it-takes-to-win type, he endeared himself to Blues fans, and frustrated them as an opponent. In this episode, he remembers the amazing "run the goalie" play in a '98 playoff game against the LA Kings. And we know you'll enjoy his off-ice stories too.

Name Game- with 5 Legends
2026/07/24
It's always fun to hear our Legends reminisce about the people of their careers and lives. This episode features five of our recent guest legends doing just that. Perry Turnbull, Red Berenson, Gary Sabourin, John Wensink and Jeff Brown recall the guys of their time, and their stories. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

Jeff Brown- Blues 90s Star Defenseman
2026/07/10
Jeff Brown-- a Blues star of the 1990s who still holds some of the offensive team records for a defenseman. Only Hull and Oates had more scoring points during the Blues ‘90’-91 season. After his playing days, Brownie became a highly-respected coach piloting several non-NHL teams to championships, and has been instrumental in developing young St. Louis players into NHL talent. Gary Sabourin- Original Blue-Excellent NHL Career
2026/06/26
An expansion draft trade with the Rangers brought Gary Sabourin and Bob Plager to the Blues. What a deal! Sabourin became a star right-winger on the early Blues and went on to a fine career after his days in St. Louis. He's still going strong and shared some great stories in this episode. Enjoy! John Wensink- Blues Draftee- Bruins Career- Blues Alumni
2026/06/12
John Wensink played in two Stanley Cup finals in the mid 70s with the Boston Bruins. Before that he learned, almost by accident, that he could be a good fighter when necessary. He was drafted by the Blues, but only dressed for three games before landing in the Boston organization. Like many players, he returned to St. Louis to live after his career and has become a proud and active member of the alumni group. Now living in Farmington MO, he tells us some great stories from his career. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. See https://pcm.adswizz.com

Bonus Episode- 3 Blues Connected Cities - Same Name

There's an interesting connection to St. Louis Blues hockey with three cities with the same name. (Not St. Louis) And there's an interesting story or two with each. Blues enforcer Kelly Chase, former executive Susie Mathieu, former player and coach Steve Ott, and former Rams player Grant Wistrom, all are mentioned in this one. We chat with Red Berenson about his late, long-time friend and hockey buddy on this one. -- Goalies were picked first in the 60s expansion draft, but after that, Jimmy Roberts became the first skater picked by the Blues to start their franchise. Jimmy played a key role in the early succcess of the team. He also played with Cup winning teams in Montreal. Roberts was also a valued assistant coach with the Blues in the late 1990s. 80s Fan Favorite- Perry Turnbull
2026/04/03
The Blues picked 2nd in the 1979 NHL entry draft and selected a big (for the time) forward Perry Turnbull. He wore the number 9 jersey and quickly became a favorite of many fans with his scoring touch and rough-and-tumble style of play. After a trade to Montreal, and another to Winnipeg, he returned to the Blues for another tour of duty in 1988. Enjoy!

We Remember "The Professor" Ron Caron
2026/03/20
Two of the people who were close to Ron Caron during his tenure with the Blues ('83-'94) were Charlie Hodges and George Csolak. Charlie worked in the PR office of the Blues and dealt with Mr. Caron regularly. George was a Blues beat writer for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat and covered "The Professor" closely and became friends. Stories from the Caron era of Blues hockey in this episode.
