Description

The WILL Podcast - For Women Lawyers Searching for Freedom, Flexibility and Fulfilment. Are you tired of having to “always be available,” the anxiety, and a nagging sense that something is missing? The WILL Podcast offers an honest exploration for how to find relief, meaning and work that allows you to enjoy your life, (without throwing away all you’ve invested). This podcast is for any woman lawyer who has ever questioned if they want to stay in law or not. Here you’ll find a window into how others have dealt with the money, identity and figured out what else they could do (in law or out). Each episode is a journey into the lives of women lawyers who got fed up with the status quo. You’ll hear about persistent doubt, piles of debt, and physical and mental depletion. Our guests reveal how they navigated the expectations of workplace cultures and inner critics that keep them isolated and wondering “what’s wrong with me.” You’ll hear conversations not being shared beyond a whisper in the halls of big law. You’ll discover: * Inspirational stories of lawyers who’ve redefined success on their own terms * Strategies to overcome the common career pitfalls women lawyers get stuck in * Ideas for how to realign work with your deepest values and aspirations Hosted by Elena Deutsch, a dedicated legal career coach and catalyst, the WILL Podcast is more than a good listen — it may inspire a movement. With WILL Alumni and Guests breaking the confines of traditional practice, you’ll see that change is not just possible for them, but for you too. If you think, “I’ve got to get out of here, but I don’t know what else to do, and I’m trepidatious,” you’ve found a sanctuary. WILL is where doubt transforms into daring, and frustration becomes freedom. Fall Sunday Sprint: What it can give you!
2026/10/07
In this episode, five WILL Members and Alumni share their experiences with the Sunday Sprint and what it did for them.  The Sunday Sprint is an end-the-year-strong community event where you reset how you do your morning and evenings. Create new micro habits, rituals, and routines that prioritize you, give you a reset, and create momentum for the end of the year without white-knuckling it. For example, one of the women who had her first Sunday Sprint last year said she now no longer checks email first thing in the day. In fact, she doesn't check it for at least the first hour, or not until she gets into the office! The Sunday Sprint runs for six weeks, October 11 to November 15, 2026. We meet Sunday mornings from 10 to 11:30 am ET. Instead of the Sunday scaries, the Sunday Sprint can help you plan your days, take an intentional pause, and create a buffer for “me time” in your mornings and evenings. Give the best of yourself to you and the other people who matter most in your life. Join the Sunday Sprint and Save $200 with coupon code PREGAME200. Stop the Spiral: Give Yourself CPR
2026/04/23
Imagine having a simple tool to stop your spiral into doubt, fear, or worst-case scenarios. Imagine you easily interrupt negative thought loops.  You are able to intentionally reignite your motivation, clarity, and desire. In this episode of the [@] WILL podcast, I talk about a powerful mindset tool called "CPR".   CPR stands for Choose, Positive, and Repeat/Reignite. It was inspired by a coach I study with, Stacey Boehman who teaches “Intentional Thought Creation”.  As part of that I heard her say, “Choose positive thoughts, and then repeat.”  I wrote down CPR.  I am adapting her methodology for you.  CPR connects you with your heart's desires, and shows you how to break free from doubt and create momentum.  This episode is especially valuable for women lawyers (and high-achievers in general) stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or inertia.  Listen in to learn: How not to “dance” with negative thoughts.Focus on positively-framed questions to create momentum. Repeat and rewire your brain and belief in what’s possible. Are you ready for a practical way to shift your mindset quickly and effectively?  Listen in now and give yourself CPR! 32 Years in Law: Then She Chose Herself
2026/04/08
“What does your ideal day look like?”  It was the first time that Hillary Sobel had ever been asked that question. 32 years of feeling unseen, undervalued and “unallowed” to want anything else. 22 years of knowing that law was not for her. Then in the space of 10 seconds, her world shifted on its axis. In this episode, WILL Alum Hillary Sobel talks about her life transformation from 32-years as a lawyer to seeing her face on a Times Square Billboard.   We discuss openly: Why it’s NEVER too late to change careers (and what keeps women lawyers trapped). Why investing in yourself isn’t indulgent; it’s transformationalHow mindset work becomes the foundation for real reinventionHilary shares her fear, skepticism, identity shifts, and eventual success when she began to live her ‘ideal day’.   About Hillary Hillary began her career in law, grounded in an understanding of business and Corporate America from family entrepreneurs. Her practice focused on corporate-related litigation including securities and antitrust. After successfully practicing law, Hillary refocused her attention on advising growing, mostly women-founded, businesses. Through her consulting business, Minerva Turning Point Strategies, Hillary combines strategic thinking and curiosity to identify new pathways to growth. She has been published in Forbes Women on the intersection of profits and people, and in Medium on opening hard conversations to expand our understanding of each other.  Hillary’s passion for storytelling and advocacy finds an outlet in speaking and writing. Litigator to Mindfulness Teacher: Recovery from Burnout
2026/03/11
How Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction saved Courtney from Anxiety and Burnout.  If you feel constantly stressed, even when things look “fine” from the outside… If you’re looping in your head, replaying the past and worrying about the future…   If you wonder if something’s wrong with you or if working in law is wearing you down… This episode is for YOU!   I’m joined by Courtney Schulnick, a former litigator and mindfulness-based stress reduction teacher.  We talk about anxiety, perfectionism, and what relief looks like for lawyers.   Courtney shares her personal journey from chronic stress and fight-or-flight to presence.  She explains why relief doesn’t require leaving law, fixing yourself, or eliminating anxious thoughts.   Listen in and you’ll hear: Why lawyer anxiety is a physiological response, not a personal failure. The difference between mindfulness and mindset (and why you need both). How awareness creates presence, and relief in your work and life.  This episode is a grounded, compassionate look at how women lawyers can reduce stress, soften perfectionism, and reconnect with themselves. About Courtney Courtney Schulnick, Esquire spent two decades as a litigator at Marshall Dennehey’s Philadelphia office, advocating in state and federal courts. Firsthand experience with the intense demands of legal practice led her to the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program, where she discovered the transformative power of mindfulness. Now a MBSR teacher at Jefferson’s Center for Mindfulness, Courtney integrates her legal background and mindfulness expertise to support professionals in high-stress environments.
