Description

”Joy and Gratitude” Through courageous and open hearted conversations, we drive self-reflection, create deeper level connections and provide a supportive community. We help individuals consider the power of choice and shift to the role of creator in all aspects of their lives. Can you live from the inside out? Focus on your inner wisdom and intuition? Beth Mercurio and Nio Queiro had one connection call that they can only describe as electric. From that moment on they knew they were going to collaborate and connect people. In sharing their stories they realized that their separate journey’s led them to understand the power of joy and gratitude and it’s impact on how we choose to live our lives each and every day. By finding joy in the small moments and acknowledging that which we are grateful for we are able to experience the power of presence and rejuvenation.

What If the Person Who Needs to Change Is You? | Joy & Gratitude Ep. 66
2026/09/28
What if the person who needs to change is you? In Episode 66 of Joy & Gratitude, Nio and Beth explore what happens when circumstances change—and how we can pause, zoom out, and take ownership of how we show up. Instead of immediately reacting, what if we approached change with openness and curiosity? Self-awareness and personal accountability can create space for different choices, different responses, and ultimately different outcomes. The conversation invites us to look inward, recognize what is within our control, and consider how our own actions and perspectives can influence the situations we want to change. 🎵 Joy Note: “Changes” by David Bowie 🪨 Gratitude Rock: Kind Listen in and ask yourself: What if the change starts with me? #JoyAndGratitude #SelfAwareness #PersonalAccountability #PersonalGrowth #Change #mindset  Hosts: Nio Queiro & Beth Mercurio Follow us: https://www.instagram.com/joyandgratitudepod/ If you'd like to ask any questions or offer up any topics to discuss email us at [email protected]
Floating, Slack Tide & the Power of Slowing Down | Joy and Gratitude Ep. 65
2026/09/21
Beth and Nio talk about their passion for floating - just allowing the stillness to set in and allowing yourself to be held. This is an important and powerful tool in our busy and complex lives.  Can we practice choosing to slow down, pause and just be?  Slack tide is the moment that the current is completely still.  Like slack tide, there is no movement - no before and no after, just the now. When we find time to create slack tide and floating moments we are able to let go, surrender and reconnect to ourselves.  From that place we can show up more choiceful.  Even our pace after can be impacted.  We encourage our listeners to find ways to slow down and create stillness and then notice how you feel and how you show up. The Biased Narrator in Your Head: Are Your Stories Keeping You Stuck?
2026/09/14
In this episode Beth and Nio dive deep into the stories and narratives that can restrict our growth and keep us stuck.  We look at the science behind how our brain can keep us in patterns of behavior that do not serve us. Can we free ourselves from this biased narrator and be present in the moments we are in?  With awareness and intention, we can slow down and choose to “Just Be” instead of spending energy and time creating stories and entering into patterns that bias us before we are even in the current conversation or experience.  Listening and understanding our personal narrator can have long lasting impacts on how we shape ourselves and grow.  The first step is to notice and then choose a different path. You can practice this yourself and start to directly impact your presence and how you show up. This is hard work and a lifelong journey, but owning/reclaiming your narrator is both freeing and energizing.   Joy Notes Songs:   Shake It Out by Florence + The Machine Gratitude Rocks!: Wish Hosts: Nio Queiro & Beth Mercurio Follow us: https://www.instagram.com/joyandgratitudepod/ If you'd like to ask any questions or offer up any topics to discuss email us at [email protected]
The Power of an Apology: How to Repair and Rebuild Connection
2026/09/07
A sincere or authentic apology has the power to repair and even build a deeper connection. An inauthentic or insincere apology has the power to further harm and disconnect us.  In this episode, Beth and Nio discuss noticing how an apology lands and using courage and self-leadership to both receive and give apologies from a place of calm and openness. Sometimes space can help us to better identify where the hurt is coming from. Curiosity and inquiry(of ourselves and others) can go a long way in enabling us to apologize with our hearts and work to move forward together. Intention + Action = Impact | How We Create the Outcomes We Want
2026/08/31
What if we looked at ourselves first when we ask, “How did we get here?” In this episode of the Joy and Gratitude Podcast, Nio and Beth explore the powerful connection between intention, action, and impact. We cannot expect to create the outcomes we want without being intentional about the actions that drive them. They talk about owning our role in the impact we create, reflecting when we aren't happy with the results, and making adjustments that can move us toward a different outcome. And when things are going well? How can we intentionally recreate those results through repeat actions and positive reinforcement? This conversation is an invitation to pause, get curious about our own role, and recognize that we have more influence than we may realize. Intention + Action = Impact. 🎵 Joy Notes: Trust the Path by Good Vibes Tribe 💪 Gratitude Rocks!: Strength Subscribe for more conversations about joy, gratitude, personal growth, relationships, and the choices that shape how we show up in the world. #JoyAndGratitude #PersonalGrowth #intentionalliving  Hosts: Nio Queiro & Beth Mercurio Follow us: https://www.instagram.com/joyandgratitudepod/ If you'd like to ask any questions or offer up any topics to discuss email us at [email protected]
The Human Advantage: The Power of Being Seen
2026/08/23
In this episode we start talking about the simple greeting “Good Morning” and how it can change a person’s day.  This leads us to a much deeper conversation about connection, belonging and being seen.  Something as simple as a gesture or salutation can show acknowledgement and reinforce presence and shared space.  This is our human advantage - we can choose to make people feel seen.  Try it!  Be the human who says hello, gives the peace sign or head nods first and see how it feels.   Joy Notes Songs:   Hello by Adele Gratitude Rocks!: Balance Subscribe to the Joy & Gratitude Podcast for more conversations about connection, personal growth, gratitude, and finding more joy in everyday life. #JoyAndGratitude #TheHumanAdvantage #Connection #BeSeen
In Motion: Finding Courage, Choice & Possibility in Hard Times | Joy & Gratitude Podcast
2026/08/16
Nio shares courageously about how staying “in motion” helped her cope with her husband’s unexpected stroke and the long road to recovery that they are on. You do not get stuck when you are in motion.  We talk about staying present and remembering that we have choices and there are always moves to make.  Nio’s mother says, “If you want to stay alive, keep moving”. Love and Empathy: The Bridge That Connects Us | Joy & Gratitude Ep. 59
2026/08/10
It is not always easy to ground ourselves in love and to choose to come from a place of compassion. Empathy is the love connector and there is a strong interrelationship between love and empathy. We need to make a conscious choice to get curious and be open to more love. With empathy and understanding we can find the bridge to more people. Love is different for each person and it is critical to remember that we each give and receive love differently.  Imagine a world where we all want love and work to create a life centered in the flow of love. Do You Coach or Rescue? The Leadership Mistake That Holds People Back
2026/08/03
Coaching is a valuable skill that can leave your employee, team, children, spouse and others feeling empowered and position them to grow and learn.  Oftentimes, we find ourselves solving for others and rescuing them without realizing that this may not actually serve them.  Can you ask questions that guide and coach versus solve?  Can you create an environment that fosters creativity and independence by allowing for different possibilities, multiple solutions and potential failure.  Next time someone comes to you for a solution can you guide and coach them versus rescuing them. Consistency, Our Patterns and Trust | Joy & Gratitude Podcast Ep. 56
2026/07/20
Beth and Nio share very emotional and personal stories of the impacts of consistent and inconsistent behavior.  Consistency is a key pillar of trust, and it can both build and erode trust.  But it is not that simple. We each have our own personal values and patterns of behavior that impact how we show up.  Understanding our patterns and choosing to change is an important part of personal growth.  This topic took some fun turns as we realized we are both very activated by inconsistency.  Live learning at its best! 2026/07/11
Fear can hold us back.  Although it serves as a protector, it can also deplete our energy and keep us stuck.  What if we go to the places that scare us?  Can we use fear as a motivator?   When we ask questions like “what makes us afraid” and “what is the worst thing that can happen” we can release some of the fear that is holding us back.  We can free ourselves from overthinking and use that energy to stay present and live more fully in each moment. Innovation and the Power of We | Joy and Gratitude Podcast Ep. 52
2026/06/22
With Special Guest John Holcombe (JH Leadership and Strategy, Inc) We have so much fun in this episode as we define innovation and discuss the learner’s mindset and the positive impacts of diversity of thought (the “we” dynamic).  It is so easy to think in a linear way and to stay in the same routine, but innovation happens when we get uncomfortable and start to iterate.  John shares how we can develop different use cases and then use feedback to create solutions that move individuals, teams and organizations forward.  With AI infiltrating our personal and professional lives, this was a very timely reminder of how to position yourself to leverage innovation.   Joy Notes Songs:   Saved My Life by Andy Grammer Songs by Tai Verdes (like AOK) Hustling by Rick Ross Gratitude Rocks!: Breathe Subscribe for more conversations on joy, growth, mindfulness, and gratitude.
