Now Sennacherib invades Judah, captures its fortified cities, and sends his officials to threaten Jerusalem. The Assyrian spokesman, the Rabshakeh, warns the people not to trust Hezekiah or believe that the LORD can save them. But when Hezekiah receives another threatening message, he takes the letter into God's temple, spreads it before the LORD, and prays. King Hezekiah Turns Judah Back to God | Bible Story for Kids
2026/10/06
King Hezekiah became ruler of Judah after his father Ahaz had led the people far away from God. What would this new king do differently? In this Bible story for kids, we follow King Hezekiah as he opens the doors of God's temple, restores worship, celebrates the Passover, removes idols, and calls God's people to return to the Lord. We'll also discover why Hezekiah destroyed the bronze serpent that Moses had made many years earlier. Something God had once used for a good purpose had become an idol because the people had begun worshipping it. The Bible tells us that Hezekiah trusted in the Lord and held fast to Him. Although Hezekiah was not perfect, his reign began very differently from that of his father, Ahaz. But danger is coming. The powerful Assyrian Empire has already conquered the northern kingdom of Israel and soon Hezekiah's trust in God will be put to the test. Bible passages: 2 Chronicles 29–31; 2 Kings 18:1–8 Today's lesson: God calls His people to trust Him, listen to His Word, and worship Him alone. Wonderfully Made follows the story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, helping children discover who God is, understand His unfolding plan, and see how He faithfully keeps His promises.
The Fall of Israel | Why Did God Allow Assyria to Conquer Israel? | Bible Story for Kids
2026/09/30
Why did the kingdom of Israel fall to Assyria? In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we discover the story of Israel's last king, Hoshea, the fall of Samaria, and the end of the northern kingdom of Israel in 2 Kings 17. King Hoshea had been serving the powerful king of Assyria and paying him tribute. But Hoshea secretly turned to Egypt for help and stopped paying Assyria. The Assyrian king discovered his rebellion, captured Hoshea, and invaded Israel. But the Bible tells us about a much deeper rebellion. For generations, Israel had turned away from the Lord. They worshipped false gods, rejected God's commands, and refused to listen even though God patiently sent prophets to warn them and call them back. Eventually, the Assyrian army surrounded Samaria. After three years, the city fell, and many Israelites were carried away. But this did not mean that Assyria was more powerful than God. God had warned Israel again and again about what would happen if they continued to reject Him. In this Bible story for kids, children will learn about King Hoshea, the Assyrian Empire, the fall of Samaria, why the northern kingdom of Israel fell, God's patience, God's warnings, and why God's Word can always be trusted. Bible passage: 2 Kings 17 God had been patient with His people, but His warnings were real. God always keeps His Word. Perfect for children, Sunday school, family Bible time, homeschool Bible lessons, Christian families, and anyone looking for engaging Old Testament Bible stories for kids. Wonderfully Made follows the story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, helping children discover who God is, understand His unfolding plan, and see how He faithfully keeps His promises.
King Ahaz, Isaiah & the Sign of Immanuel | Bible Story for Kids
2026/09/24
King Ahaz is terrified. Two enemy kings have joined together against Judah—but God sends the prophet Isaiah with an incredible message: Do not be afraid. In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we follow the story of King Ahaz and the prophet Isaiah from Isaiah 7, 2 Kings 16, and 2 Chronicles 28. Unlike his father Jotham, Ahaz does not follow the Lord. When the kings of Aram and Israel join together against Judah, Ahaz and his people are shaken with fear. But God sends Isaiah to the frightened king with a message of hope. God promises that the enemies' plan will not succeed and even offers Ahaz a sign. Ahaz refuses. So God gives a remarkable promise: Immanuel, God with us. Instead of trusting the Lord, Ahaz turns to the powerful king of Assyria for help. His decision will have consequences for Judah, while God's promise points forward to something far greater. Hundreds of years later, the Gospel of Matthew will return to Isaiah's words when telling us about the birth of Jesus Christ. In this Bible story for kids, children will learn about trusting God when they are afraid, listening to God's Word, King Ahaz's choice, the prophet Isaiah, the rise of Assyria, and the wonderful promise of Immanuel, God with us. Bible passages: Isaiah 7; 2 Kings 16; 2 Chronicles 28; Matthew 1:22–23 Perfect for children, Sunday school, family Bible time, homeschool Bible lessons, Christian families, and anyone looking for engaging Bible stories for kids. Wonderfully Made follows the story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, helping children discover who God is, understand His unfolding plan, and see how He faithfully keeps His promises.
King Jotham Chooses the Right Way | 2 Chronicles 27 | Bible Story for Kids
2026/09/17
What happens when you choose to follow God even when the people around you don't? In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we meet King Jotham of Judah in 2 Chronicles 27 and 2 Kings 15. Jotham became king after his father, King Uzziah. Uzziah had become powerful, but pride led him to disobey God in the temple. Jotham made a different choice. He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord and did not repeat his father's mistake. As king, Jotham strengthened Jerusalem, built towers and towns, and defeated the Ammonites. The Bible tells us that Jotham became mighty because he ordered his ways before the Lord his God. But there was a problem. Although Jotham followed the Lord, many of the people of Judah continued in their wrong ways. And beyond Judah's borders, danger was growing. Israel and Aram were becoming enemies of Judah, while the mighty Assyrian Empire was rising. Soon God's people would face some of their greatest challenges—and prophets like Isaiah and Micah would bring them God's Word. In this Bible story for kids, children will discover: • Who King Jotham was • What Jotham learned not to repeat from King Uzziah • How Jotham strengthened Judah • Why Jotham became powerful • Why following God doesn't mean everyone around us will do the same • How Aram, Israel and Assyria were becoming part of Judah's story • How Jotham's reign prepares us for King Ahaz and the prophet Isaiah Bible passages: 2 Chronicles 27; 2 Kings 15:32–38 Perfect for children ages 5–10, family devotions, Sunday school, homeschool Bible lessons, bedtime Bible stories, and Christian families learning the Old Testament together. King Uzziah's Pride | The King Who Forgot God | Bible Story for Kids
2026/09/08
King Uzziah began his reign by seeking God, and the Lord wonderfully helped him. But what happened when this successful king became powerful and proud? In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we discover the story of King Uzziah in 2 Chronicles 26. Uzziah became king of Judah when he was only sixteen years old. As he sought the Lord, God helped him. Uzziah defeated powerful enemies, strengthened Jerusalem, built towers, developed the land, and led a strong army. His fame spread far and wide. But when Uzziah became strong, his heart became proud. Uzziah entered the temple and tried to burn incense, something God had appointed the priests to do. When Azariah and eighty courageous priests confronted him, Uzziah became angry instead of listening. The Lord humbled the proud king, and Uzziah lived with a serious skin disease for the rest of his life. Through Uzziah's story, children will learn that our abilities, success, and strength are gifts from God. No matter how important or successful someone becomes, no one is above God's Word. In this Bible story for kids, we'll discover: How Uzziah became king at only sixteenHow God helped Uzziah become strongUzziah's victories and accomplishmentsHow success led Uzziah to prideWhy Uzziah entered the templeHow the priests courageously confronted the kingHow God humbled UzziahWhy every king—and every one of us—must remember who the true King isBible passages: 2 Chronicles 26; 2 Kings 15:1–7 Perfect for children ages 5–10, family Bible time, Sunday school, homeschool Bible lessons, bedtime Bible stories, and Christian families. Elisha's Final Prophecy & Last Miracle | 2 Kings 13 | Bible Story for Kids
2026/09/01
What happened when the prophet Elisha reached the end of his life? In this episode of Wonderfully Made: Bible Stories for Children, we come to the final chapter of Elisha's remarkable ministry in 2 Kings 13. When Elisha became very sick, King Jehoash of Israel came to visit him. Elisha asked the king to take a bow and arrows and gave him one final message from God: the Lord would give Israel victory over Aram. King Jehoash struck the ground three times, and Elisha told him that Israel would defeat Aram three times. Then Elisha died. But an extraordinary event happened at his tomb. When the body of a dead man touched Elisha's bones, the man came back to life and stood on his feet! This remarkable miracle reminds us that the power had never belonged to Elisha, it belonged to God. Elisha's life came to an end, but God's power remained, God's plan continued, and God's Word still came true. Later, King Jehoash defeated Aram three times, exactly as Elisha had said. In this Bible story, children will discover: Elisha's final message to King JehoashWhat the arrow of victory representedWhy Elisha became angry when the king stopped after three strikesThe amazing miracle at Elisha's tombThat miraculous power belongs to God, not His prophetsHow Elisha's final prophecy came trueWhy God's Word remains true even when His messengers are goneBible passage: 2 Kings 13:14–25 Perfect for children ages 5–10, family devotions, Sunday school, homeschool Bible lessons, bedtime Bible stories, and Christian families. What happened to King Joash after Jehoiada the priest died? Joash had been protected as a baby, crowned king at seven years old, and guided for many years by the faithful priest Jehoiada.
