How Is He Podcast | Ep. 129  In studio today with Podge & Guich is someone who has worked at the very highest level of sport, and rehabilitation, helping elite athletes get back to doing what they do best.  David Roche is the Founder and Clinical Director of Roche Injury Clinic, an internationally recognised high-performance, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation centre here in Ireland.  David works with professional athletes, international teams and Olympic-level performers, specialising in injury rehabilitation, force plate testing and return-to-play systems.  The list of athletes he has worked with is seriously impressive. From Republic of Ireland international footballer Jake O’Brien, to Olympic silver medallist boxer Ben Whittaker, former NFL wide receiver Devin Funchess, WNBA guard Jayda Curry, USA elite sprinter Demarius Smith and Olympian Ian Kerr from the Bahamas.  He’s also an international CPD speaker in rehabilitation and sports performance and has even featured on FOX Weather as a sports injury specialist.  What really stands out about David’s philosophy is that elite-level care shouldn’t just be reserved for elite athletes. He picked up drugs for the first time as a young child, went through addiction himself, and eventually found himself in residential treatment. But fast-forward over 12 years, and John Foskett is drug-free, and he’s taken those experiences and turned them into something positive.  After being thrown out of school at just 15, John went on to get an education in UCC, build a career working in homeless services, start a family, and most recently, launch his own podcast, What Saves Me.  And that’s really what John’s story is about, recovery, mental health, the battles that people often fight behind closed doors, and finding the things, the people and the reasons that keep us going.  There’s no pretending that life is always easy, and John speaks openly about some very difficult experiences, but there’s also a huge amount of hope in his story.  So today we’re going to get to know the man behind the podcast, the experiences that shaped him, what recovery has taught him, and ultimately, what saves John Foskett.  Keep up to date with Podge & Guich @ howishepodcast

Megan May.  At 25 years of age and living in Kilkenny, Megan May started creating content around three years ago with one goal in mind. To become a musician.  But somewhere along the way, the music took a back seat and the comedy, chaos and questionable life decisions took over!  Fast forward three years and Megan has built a following of over 75,000 people across TikTok and Instagram, who tune in for the laughs, the relatable moments, the crazy nights out and, more often than not, the inevitable bad hangover the next morning!  Her style is all about finding the humour in everyday situations, while keeping things real, and that's something that clearly connects with her audience.  But behind the laughs and the social media numbers. Megan is very honest about the reality of trying to make a living as a content creator. Helping athletes, teams and organisations perform at their very best. Alan Malone. He’s worked across a seriously impressive list of teams, including Laois, the Carlow Hurlers, Longford Footballers, Meath Ladies Footballers and Wexford FC Women, and he’s currently working with the Wexford Men’s Footballers. But his experience goes way beyond the sideline. Alan has held roles including Sport Scholarship Officer with SETU Waterford, Operations Manager with the Camogie Association and Manager at the National Indoor Arena. He’s currently Registrar of REPs Ireland, the Register of Exercise Professionals, while you might also spot him behind the scenes helping with match-day production in Croke Park. Academically, Alan has a Degree in Sports Management and Recreation from SETU Waterford, along with a Masters in Strength and Conditioning from SETU Carlow. So whether it’s strength and conditioning, sporting operations, governance, event management or creating the right environment for people to perform, Alan has pretty much covered it. He’s a Limerick man who moved to Kilkenny at 7 years old, became an experienced HSE manager, who after years of working in management and seeing first-hand the mistakes people make when they're looking for work, Declan decided to put that experience to good use and set up Ace That Interview. And what the lads really like about what Declan does, is that it’s not just about telling someone what to say in an interview, it’s about getting people to believe that they actually deserve to be in the room in the first place.
