Episode 94: Severe Penance of Raavan, Kumbhakarn and Vibhishan
2026/09/29
In our previous episode, we travelled far back into the ancient past to discover the origins of the Raakshas lineage. We followed the story from Pulastya to Vishravas, and then to Vaishravan, who would become known as Kuber, the Lord of Wealth and the righteous ruler of Lanka. We witnessed how the golden city passed from the Raakshas to Kuber, and how Sumali, forced into the netherworld, never forgot the kingdom his family had lost. His desire to reclaim Lanka eventually led him to his daughter Kaikasi and the great sage Vishravas. From their union were born four children, each carrying a very different destiny. Raavan, Kumbhakarn, Shurpanakha, and Vibhishan. We then saw the first spark of ambition within Raavan. When he witnessed the splendor of Kuber and the glory he had achieved, Raavan resolved that he would not remain beneath his half-brother He wanted the same power. And he wanted to go beyond it. So Raavan, together with his brothers, entered the forest to undertake a terrible penance.
In today's episode, we will witness what happened when their penance finally shook the heavens. We will see Raavan offer even his own heads to the sacred fire, while Kumbhakarn and Vibhishan pursue their own extraordinary paths of austerity. We will witness the arrival of God Brahma and discover the very different boons each brother receives, boons that will shape the destiny of Lanka and the worlds. But the story does not end with these boons. We will follow Raavan as he returns to Lanka and begins to build an empire through fear and conquest. We will see his marriage to Mandodari and the birth of his great ambition. We will witness his challenge to Kuber, the defeat of his own elder brother, and the moment when Raavan seizes the Pushpak Viman. And then, his journey will take him to Mount Kailash. There, his pride will bring him before Nandi, the devoted attendant of Lord Shiv. A curse will be spoken that will one day have a profound connection to Raavan's destruction. In his arrogance, Raavan will attempt to lift Mount Kailash itself. What follows will reveal another side of this extraordinary being. Trapped beneath the mountain, Raavan will turn from pride to devotion. He will praise Lord Shiv for a thousand years, and his devotion will move the Great God. It is there that Dashagreev will receive the name by which the world will remember him. Raavan. Join us as we witness the rise of one of the most powerful and complex figures in the Ramayan and discover how the boons that made Raavan almost invincible would also become the beginning of his downfall.

Episode 93: History of Rakshasas
2026/09/14
In our previous episode, we witnessed the arrival of the great sages at the palace of Ayodhya. They came to honor Ram after his victory over Raavan. But their visit soon revealed a deeper story. We learned why Indrajit was considered such an extraordinary warrior, and how Lakshman's victory over him was made possible by fourteen years of discipline and sacrifice. We saw how Lakshman had given up sleep, controlled his hunger, and guarded Ram and Sita every night without ever asking for praise. Ram and Sita finally understood the depth of his devotion, and Ram embraced his brother with love and gratitude.
In today's episode, Ram asks Sage Agastya to take him further into the past. He wants to understand the origins of the Rakshas and the lineage that eventually produced Raavan. Agastya takes us back through the ancient generations, beginning with the great sage Pulastya, Vishravas, and Vaishravan, who would become Kuber, the Lord of Wealth and the first great ruler of Lanka. We then discover how the Rakshas first came to rule the golden city, how Malyavan, Sumali, and Mali were driven into the netherworld by Lord Vishnu, and how Kubera eventually took possession of Lanka. But Sumali never forgot the kingdom his family had lost. And then, a decision is made that will change the course of the worlds. Sumali sends his daughter Kaikasi to Sage Vishravas. From their union are born four children with four very different destinies: Raavan, Kumbhakarna, Shurpanakha, and Vibhishan. As the young Raavan sees the glory of his half-brother Kuber, a powerful desire awakens within him. He does not want to remain beneath Kuber. He wants to become his equal. And perhaps, even greater. Today, we begin the story of how that ambition was born.

Episode 92: Introduction to Uttar Kanda – Sages pay homage to Ram
2026/09/03
In our previous episode, we came to the end of Yuddha Kanda, the sixth chapter of the Ramayan. We witnessed the defeat of Raavan, the return of Sita, and Ram's long-awaited return to Ayodhya after fourteen years of exile. We saw the joyful reunion of the four brothers and their mothers, and Ram's grand coronation as the rightful king of Ayodhya. We also saw Ram honor Sugreev, Vibhishan, Hanuman, and all those who had stood beside him through the great war. And finally, we witnessed the beautiful moment when Sita gave Hanuman her precious necklace of pearls, and Hanuman revealed that for him, Ram lived within his heart. With Ram now seated upon the throne, Ayodhya entered the age remembered as Ram Rajya, a time of peace, justice, prosperity, and Dharm.
In today's episode, we remain in Ayodhya after the coronation. Great sages from the four directions arrive at Ram's palace to honor the victorious king. They praise him for defeating the mighty warriors of Lanka, but speak with wonder about Indrajit, Raavan's son, who had once defeated Indra himself. Ram is surprised that the sages place Indrajit above even Raavan and Kumbhakarn and asks them to reveal the secret behind his extraordinary power. What follows is a remarkable revelation about Lakshman. Ram learns that for fourteen years, Lakshman had sacrificed sleep, food, and even the simple act of looking upon Sita's face, all while silently guarding Ram and Sita. And for the first time, Ram understands the true depth of his brother's devotion and sacrifice.

Episode 88: Ram, Sita and Lakshman start their journey back to Ayodhya
2026/07/03
In our previous episode, we witnessed the healing that followed the great war. We saw Lakshman open his heart to Ram, questioning not his intentions, but the pain his words had caused. We witnessed Ram reveal the burden of raj dharm, explaining how every harsh word spoken to Sita had wounded his own heart even more deeply. We then saw a beautiful conversation between Ram and Sita, where they spoke not as king and queen, but as husband and wife. Sita reminded Ram of the sacred vows they had taken before the fire, of trust, partnership, and walking through life as one soul in two bodies. We saw Ram humbly acknowledge her wisdom and promise that, from that day forward, they would face every difficult decision together. We then witnessed the gods bless Ram's victory. We saw God Shiv himself praise Ram for restoring dharm to the world, while Ram, in his humility, bowed before the very deity who forever worships him. We witnessed the emotional reunion between Ram and his father, King Dashrath, who blessed him to return as the rightful king of Ayodhya. We saw Ram's compassion once again when Indra offered him a boon, and instead of asking for anything for himself, he chose to restore the lives of every Vanar and bear warrior who had sacrificed everything for him. And finally, we witnessed the Pushpak Viman rise into the heavens, carrying Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and their companions on the long-awaited journey home.
In today's episode, that journey truly begins. We will witness Sita remember the kindness of Trijata and see Ram honor her loyalty with gratitude and respect. We will travel across the skies of Bhaarat, looking down upon the places that shaped their fourteen years of exile. We will revisit battlefields where mighty warriors fell, forests where friendships were forged, rivers that witnessed sorrow and hope, and hermitages where great sages blessed their path. We will witness Ram establish the sacred shrine of Rameshwaram in gratitude to Lord Shiv and see the mighty bridge to Lanka returned to the embrace of the ocean. We will stop once more at Kishkindha, where old friends and their families join the journey, and we will retrace every important milestone of the exile that transformed princes into ideals for all humanity. And finally, as the Pushpak Viman nears its destination, we will catch the first glorious sight of Ayodhya, the city that has waited fourteen long years for its beloved prince to return. This is more than a journey across the skies. It is a journey through memory, gratitude, friendship, and destiny. Join me now, as every river, every mountain, and every forest tells its own story, and as Ram's path finally leads him back to the home he never stopped loving.

Episode 87: Ram, Sita and Lakshman prepare for Ayodhya
2026/06/24
In our previous episode, we witnessed one of the most intense and emotionally complex moments in the Ramayan. The war had ended, Raavan had fallen, and Lanka had begun its journey toward dharm under Vibhishan. But victory did not bring immediate peace. We saw Ram stand torn between raj dharm and his role as a husband. In front of the world, he spoke harsh words to Sita, not out of doubt, but to remove all doubt forever. We witnessed Sita rise with strength and dignity, defending her honor with truth. And then, in a moment that shook the heavens, she stepped into the fire, not in despair, but with unshaken faith. We saw Agni himself return her, untouched and radiant, proving her purity before all three worlds. We saw Ram reveal the deeper truth behind his actions, where duty demanded sacrifice, even at a personal cost. And finally, we witnessed their reunion, where love, truth, and dharm stood together once again.
In today’s episode, we move beyond that moment of fire and truth, into the quiet that follows. We will step into a night where the war is over, but emotions are not yet settled. We will witness Lakshman question Ram, not with anger, but with confusion and pain, as he tries to understand the harshness he saw. We will see Ram open his heart, revealing the burden he carried as a king, and the pain he hid within himself. We will witness a deeply human conversation between Ram and Sita, where love, trust, and understanding are rebuilt after the storm. From there, we will see the divine once again step forward, as the gods bless Ram and reveal the next path of his journey. We will witness a son meet his father once more, as King Dashrath returns from the heavens to bless his children and bring closure to a long separation. We will see Ram’s selfless heart, as he asks not for himself, but for the lives of those who fought for him. And finally, we will witness the beginning of the journey home, as the Pushpak Viman rises into the sky, carrying not just Ram and Sita, but the hopes of an entire world. This is not just the end of a trial. This is the healing that follows. Join me now, as silence speaks louder than war, as hearts open after pain, and as the journey turns toward home.

Episode 86: Sita returns to Ram
2026/06/15
In our previous episode, we saw the war reach its true end, not just in battle, but in meaning. We witnessed Ram’s devotion rise to its highest point, as he stood ready to offer his own eye, and saw Goddess Durga appear, pleased with his surrender. She revealed the deeper truth behind Raavan’s life, that he was not just an enemy, but a soul bound by destiny. We saw how even the divine moves through action, as Hanuman created the moment for the Goddess to leave Raavan, shifting the balance of the war. Ram and Raavan clashed with unstoppable force, and in the end, guided by truth and knowledge, Ram struck Raavan at the source of his life and ended it. We saw Raavan fall, and with him, the fear that had gripped the worlds came to an end. But victory did not come with pride. We witnessed Ram’s compassion as he honored even his fallen enemy. We heard Raavan’s final words, filled with wisdom and regret. We saw the grief of Lanka, Mandodari’s sorrow, and Vibhishan’s inner conflict. And finally, we witnessed Raavan’s last rites, performed with dignity, marking the end of an era.
In today’s episode, we move beyond the battlefield, into a moment far more difficult than war itself. We will see how Ram restores dharm in Lanka, not by ruling it, but by giving the throne to Vibhishan. We will witness Hanuman carry the news of victory to Sita, bringing hope after long suffering. But along with joy, we will also see doubt, pain, and a test that will shake the hearts of all. We will witness Ram stand torn between his role as a king and his role as a husband. We will see Sita rise with strength and dignity, defending her honor before the world. We will witness a moment where truth is not just spoken, but proven. We will see fire itself become a witness, and we will witness what happens when truth rises from the flames. This is not just a continuation of victory. This is the testing of that victory. Join me now, as dharm is upheld at a personal cost, as love is tested before the world, and as Ram and Sita walk through one of the most powerful moments of the Ramayan.

Episode 85: Ram kills Raavan
2026/06/03
In our previous episode, the war moved toward its final truth. We saw Raavan stand alone, with no warriors left to fight for him. We witnessed Ram prepare not just with weapons, but with dharm, patience, and truth. The gods stepped in, and the sacred Aditya Hridaya filled Ram with renewed strength. Yet dharm stood firm, and Ram chose the path of devotion over haste. We saw him begin the worship of Goddess Durga in an untimely season, an Akal Bodhon, turning the battlefield into a place of prayer. Day after day, he worshipped with full faith. Hanuman crossed great distances to bring the rare blue lotus flowers. And finally, we reached a moment of ultimate surrender, when one flower went missing, and Ram stood ready to offer his own eye to complete his devotion.
In today’s episode, we will see how that devotion changes the fate of the war. We will witness Goddess Durga appear and reveal the deeper truth behind Raavan’s destiny. We will see how divine will moves through action, as Hanuman creates the moment for the Goddess to leave Raavan. From there, the war will reach its final and fiercest battle. We will witness Ram and Raavan clash like two forces of the universe, where even the gods watch in suspense. We will see the mystery of Raavan’s endless strength unfold, and the secret that alone can end him. We will witness the final strike that brings down the king of Lanka. But this is not just the end of a battle. We will also see compassion in victory. We will hear the final words of Raavan, filled with wisdom and regret. We will witness grief in Lanka, as Mandodari mourns and truth reveals itself even in loss. And finally, we will see how Ram honours a fallen enemy with dignity, showing that dharm stands not just in war, but in how one treats even those who stood against them. We will walk through the final moments of this great war, not as a battle, but as a lesson for all time. We will see how even the gods hesitate, unsure if Raavan has truly fallen. We will witness Ram’s deep respect for a fallen enemy and the dignity given to him in death. We will feel the sorrow of Mandodari and the burden carried by Vibhishan. We will see how dharm stands steady, not just in victory, but in how one treats even those who stood against them. And finally, we will witness the last rites of Raavan, as a king, a warrior, and a complex soul whose life leaves behind lessons that echo far beyond the battlefield. Join me now, as devotion leads to destiny, as battle meets truth, and as the fall of Raavan reveals lessons that will live forever.

Episode 84: Ram and Raavan fight each other
2026/05/13
In our previous episode, the war stepped into a deeper shadow. Raavan, left with no warriors, turned to the nether world and called upon Mahiraavan. We saw a night of illusion, where trust was tested again. Hanuman built a living fortress, yet deception found its way in. Ram and Lakshman were taken beneath the earth. But devotion did not fail. Hanuman descended into the unknown, faced Mahiraavan, and ended him with wisdom and courage. He returned with Ram and Lakshman, restoring hope once more. Yet Raavan, shaken but unbroken, turned toward the divine, seeking strength for the final battle.
In today’s episode, the war moves toward its final truth. The night has passed, and a new day rises over Lanka. We will see Ram and his allies prepare for the last and most dangerous battle. We will witness their concern as Raavan, now alone, prepares to enter the field himself in his fiercest form. We will hear Ram speak of a chariot not made of gold or iron, but of dharm, truth, and patience. We will see the gods step in, as Indra sends his divine chariot, and the sage Agastya reveals the sacred Aditya Hridaya, a hymn that fills Ram with renewed strength. But even with this power, the path will not be simple. We will see a moment where dharm itself stops Ram’s hand, as Raavan comes after deep worship of the Goddess. We will witness a new kind of battle, not of weapons, but of devotion. Ram will turn toward the ocean and begin the worship of Goddess Durga in a time not meant for her, an Akal Bodhon. Day after day, he will pray with full faith. Hanuman will cross worlds to bring the rare blue lotus flowers. The Vanars will join in sacred chants, turning the battlefield into a place of prayer. And then, we will arrive at a moment that defines everything. A test not of strength, but of surrender. When one flower goes missing, we will see Ram ready to offer his own eye, to complete his devotion. Join me now, as dharm meets destiny, as devotion is tested to its highest limit, and as Ram prepares not just to fight Raavan but to prove the power of faith itself.

Episode 83: Mahiraavan tricks Ram, Lakshman and Hanuman
2026/05/01
In our previous episode, the war of Lanka burned with unstoppable force. Raavan entered the battlefield like a storm. Vanars fell under his arrows. We saw Sugreev, Angad, and Jambavan rise against powerful demon warriors and bring them down one by one. Then came the clash between Ram and Raavan. For a moment, Raavan saw the truth, the universe within Ram. Yet, bound by pride, he chose to fight. Lakshman stepped forward to protect his brother, but a terrible weapon struck him down. We saw Ram break in grief, questioning fate itself. But hope returned through Sushen’s wisdom and Hanuman’s courage. Hanuman flew across the skies, defeated Kalnemi, held back the Sun, and brought life back to Lakshman. The war stood at its edge, where every moment could decide the end.
In today’s episode, the war moves into a darker and more hidden path. We will see Raavan, left with no warriors, turn to the depths of the netherworld. We will witness his mother remind him of the one power he has not yet called upon, Mahiraavan. A master of illusion, a devotee of Mahamaya, and a ruler feared even by the gods. We will see Mahiraavan arrive in secrecy and promise to end the war not with open battle, but with deception. We will witness a night of tension, where sleep itself becomes the enemy. Hanuman will build a living fortress to guard Ram and Lakshman. Vibhishan will warn of danger that cannot be seen. And yet, through layers of illusion, Mahiraavan will enter, taking forms of those dearest to Ram, testing faith and trust again and again. We will see the moment where vigilance breaks and Ram and Lakshman are taken into the depths below the earth. From there begins a new journey. Hanuman will descend into a hidden world filled with strange beauty and deadly secrets. He will uncover a fate written long ago, meet the power of Mahamaya, and face Mahiraavan in a battle where timing, faith, and wisdom matter more than strength. We will witness how devotion defeats illusion once again. How Hanuman, in his divine form, ends Mahiraavan and frees Ram and Lakshman. And as they return, we will see Raavan, alone and shaken, turn at last toward the divine seeking strength for the final battle. Join me now, as the war moves from the battlefield into the shadows, as illusion tests faith, and as Hanuman rises once more to protect Ram in the darkest hour.

Episode 82 – Raavan's grief turns into anger
2026/04/19
In our previous episode, the war of Lanka reached its fiercest turning point. Lakshman stood before Indrajit at Nikumbhila and broke the ritual that could have made him invincible. We saw a battle where arrows filled the sky and divine weapons clashed with unstoppable force. Hanuman shattered the sacred fire. Vibhishan stood firm against his own blood. And in the end, Lakshman called upon truth and released the arrow that brought down Indrajit, the terror of the worlds. The heavens rejoiced. But in Lanka, grief took over. Raavan collapsed in sorrow. Mandodari wept for her son. And the war moved one step closer to its final end.
In today’s episode, the silence after Indrajit’s fall turns into a storm of rage. We will see Raavan, broken by grief, rise with deadly anger and rush toward Ashok Vatika to kill Sita. We will witness wisdom stand against madness, as Suparshva and Mandodari stop him from committing a terrible sin. We will see Raavan choose the path of war and march toward the battlefield himself, ignoring the signs of his coming end. We will witness a brutal clash where demons and Vanars fall in great numbers, and mighty warriors like Sugreev, Angad, and Jambavan bring down powerful demon chiefs. We will then see Raavan face Ram, and in a rare moment, recognise the divine within him. Yet, bound by destiny, he will choose to fight. We will witness Lakshman step forward, only to be struck down by a terrible weapon that shakes even the heavens. We will feel Ram’s deepest grief, as he questions fate and the meaning of victory itself. But hope will rise again. Sushen will guide the way. Hanuman will take flight on a mission where time itself must be stopped. We will see him outwit demons, defeat Kalnemi, hold back the Sun, and lift a mountain to bring life back to Lakshman. Join me now, as grief turns into courage, as time is held still for dharm, and as the war moves into its most intense and final phase.

Episode 81 – Lakshman kills Indrajit
2026/03/23
In our previous episode, the skies above Lanka were filled with illusion and fear. Indrajit had hidden himself in darkness and struck like a shadow. The Vanars had seen Sita fall, and grief had shaken even the heart of Ram. But truth had emerged through Vibhishan. The death was false. A deeper danger was rising. At Nikumbhila, a ritual had begun that could make Indrajit unstoppable. And so, Lakshman had set forth, with Hanuman and Vibhishan by his side, to stop that fire before it could change the fate of the war.
In today’s episode, the battle reaches its turning point. We will see Lakshman confront Indrajit at the sacred fire. We will hear harsh words between blood and dharm, as Vibhishan stands against his own kin. We will witness a fierce war of arrows, where the sky itself trembles under their power. We will see Hanuman shatter the ritual and drag Indrajit down from the skies. We will feel the intensity of a battle where divine weapons clash, and no warrior steps back. We will witness the final moment, where Lakshman calls upon truth itself and releases an arrow that ends the terror of the worlds. We will then see Lanka break under grief. Raavan will fall from his throne. Mandodari will cry for her son. And in Ashok Vatika, Sita will hear the news and reflect on the strength of Lakshman and the path that led her here. Back in Ram’s camp, we will see joy return, wounds heal, and hope rise stronger than ever. The fall of Indrajit will bring the war to its final edge. Join me now, as courage defeats illusion, as dharm stands firm against pride, and as the path clears for the final battle between Ram and Raavan.

Episode 80 – Indrajit comes out to fight Ram and Lakshman once again
2026/03/12
In our previous episode, Lanka had burned under the fury of the Vanars. But the war did not slow. Tarani had fallen in devotion. Virbahu had sought liberation in Ram’s hands. One by one, the pillars of Lanka had collapsed. Only two now stood between Lanka and its fate: Raavan and his most dangerous son, Indrajit.
In today’s episode, the night above Lanka turns heavy with dark intent. After the death of Tarani and Virbahu, Raavan burns with wounded pride. We will see him summon Indrajit and command him to end the war by slaying Ram and Lakshman. We will witness a terrifying ritual, where fire itself answers the call of a demon prince. We will see Indrajit vanish from sight and rain invisible destruction upon the battlefield. We will feel the shock of a cruel illusion, when Sita appears to fall before the eyes of Hanuman and the Vanars. We will see Ram collapse in unbearable grief. We will hear Lakshman question dharm in the fire of his anguish. And we will witness Vibhishan reveal a hidden truth, that the death was deception, and that a greater danger now burns at Nikumbhila. The war will shift from strength to strategy. From open battle to a desperate race against time. Lakshman will rise with a vow. Hanuman, Angad, Jambavan, and Vibhishan will march beside him. And at the gates of Nikumbhila, they will face a wall of steel guarding a fire that must not be allowed to live. Join me now, as illusion battles faith, as grief turns into resolve, and as Lakshman charges into darkness to stop a sacrifice that could change the fate of gods and men alike.
