Description

Welcome to the Podcast channel of A Dancers Perspective where we provide a platform for dancers and performers to talk about their perspectives and experiences in the industry. Our guests will include a variety of performers that are at different stages of their career and dive into their perspectives on  topics such as  training, auditioning processes, their gig life and work and how they have navigated the industry. This platform is not another self help platform where we give you the cookie cutter step by step plans on becoming a professional dancer but rather provide a community. A community where we bring together dancers to talk about their experiences that can help you feel like you're not the only one thinking a certain way  and also help provide you insight on certain topics that can help encourage you on your own professional journey. If you have a topic that you would like to hear someone's perspective on or you think you have a pretty interesting perspective get in touch!

Building A Personal Brand As A Performer - Form MGMT Britt Nicholson
2026/09/15
Send us Fan Mail What does it actually mean to build a personal brand as a performer? In this episode of A Dancer’s Perspective, Siobhan chats with Britt Nicholson, founder of Form, about branding, marketing and what it really means to put yourself out there as an artist. We unpack the idea that personal branding is about more than having the perfect Instagram feed or constantly promoting yourself. Britt shares why your brand is actually the story people already know about you — built through your experiences, your work, your relationships and the way you show up. We talk about finding your point of difference, why your uniqueness is your “special sauce,” and how marketing should amplify who you already are rather than asking you to become someone else. We also explore social media, visibility, the balance between personal and professional content, and why clarity is more important than perfection when it comes to communicating who you are as a performer. If you’ve ever wondered what you should be posting, how to stand out in a competitive industry, or how to market yourself without feeling like you’re constantly selling yourself, this conversation is for you. 🎙️ Tune in for an honest conversation about finding your brand, telling your story and being remembered for what makes you different. Daily Perspective - Art Is Meant To Be Raw, Not Perfect
2026/08/17
Send us Fan Mail Art isn’t meant to be perfect. That’s the beauty of it. @a_dancers_perspective_podcast The missed step. The wobble. The stumble on stage. The moments where things don’t go exactly to plan. Those rough edges don’t take away from the art — they make it real. Because perfection isn’t always relatable. Human is. We connect with the moments that remind us there’s a real person behind the performance. So don’t be afraid of the imperfections. Don’t hide the messy parts. That’s where the art lives. Daily Perspective - The Reason You Started
2026/08/13
Send us Fan Mail Welcome to The Daily Perspective — a quick reminder for dancers to pause, reset and look at things from a different perspective. You didn’t start dancing to be perfect. You started because you LOVED it. Somewhere between the auditions, corrections, mirrors, comparison and pressure to be “good enough,” it’s easy to forget the reason you started in the first place. So today, take the pressure off. Dance because it makes you feel alive. Dance because you have something to say. Dance because you still love it. Perfection was never the point. 🤍 Welcome to The Daily Perspective on @a_dancers_perspective_podcast DO YOU HAVE AN INTERESTING PERSPECTIVE? Shahnae Cutajar- When Dreams Change Direction
2026/06/28
Send us Fan Mail What happens when the dream you've worked towards for years begins to change? In this episode, we sit down with a former professional dancer Shahae who has gone on to become a successful Pilates instructor and studio owner. Together, we have an honest conversation about what it really feels like to evolve your dream. We talk about the emotions that come with stepping into a new chapter—grief, excitement, uncertainty, fear and pride—and why it's completely normal to experience all of them at once. Changing direction doesn't mean you've failed, and it doesn't mean you have to leave your love for dance behind. Your dance career will always be part of you. The discipline, resilience, confidence and lessons you've gained don't disappear when one chapter ends—they become the foundation for whatever comes next. If you've ever questioned whether it's time to pivot, wondered what life after performing could look like, or felt guilty for wanting something different, this episode is your reminder that dreams are allowed to evolve. You don't have to quit your dream cold turkey. Sometimes, your next dream grows from the first one. Whether you're still performing, considering a career change, or simply navigating a new season of life, we hope this conversation reminds you that your story doesn't end when one dream changes—it simply begins a new chapter. Arna Singleton - The Power of Reinvention Part1
2026/04/12
Send us Fan Mail This week Arna comes on the podcast and talks about the power of reinvention. This two part series dives deep into the idea that reinvention is more than change — it’s transformation. In this episode, we explore what it really means to step into a new version of yourself. Not by becoming someone else, but by evolving into who you’re meant to be. We talk about the layers behind growth — the mindset shifts, the inner work, and the courage it takes to face parts of yourself you may have avoided. Because real reinvention isn’t just external… it starts within. We also touch on the importance of your environment during these seasons of change. Who you surround yourself with can either support your growth or hold you back — and learning to choose alignment over comfort is part of the process. This episode is for anyone navigating change, chasing growth, or stepping into something new. Because reinvention isn’t about starting over — it’s about stepping forward with intention.
