This week on COMICS FOR YOU, Matthew is joined by author Van Jensen! Van Jensen was born and raised in the farm country of Western Nebraska where he wrote and drew stories as soon as he could hold a pencil. He became a newspaper crime reporter, then a magazine editor, and eventually an author of comic books and graphic novels. He has written some of the world’s biggest characters, including James Bond and The Flash, Superman, Wonder Woman and the Green Lantern Corps for DC Comics. He also has co-created acclaimed series including Two Dead from Simon & Schuster/Gallery 13 (with National Book Award-winning artist Nate Powell), Cryptocracy from Dark Horse (with Pete Woods), and Pinocchio, Vampire Slayer from Top Shelf/IDW (with Dusty Higgins). Most recently, a collection of his kaiju mini-series Godzilla Heist from IDW and his novel Godfall have been released wherever books are sold. Excited to have on Comics For You this week writer Christopher Cantwell. Christopher's currently writing the excellent Star Trek expanded universe comics series, Red Shirts with IDW publishing which we get into a bunch for any Trek fans out there. Issue #4 of 5 is out on November 5th. He and Matthew also touch on his series Out of Alcatraz from Oni Press, the collected edition of which is out October 21st wherever books and comics are sold.
