Season Finale, Part 2: 2026 Mets-Pectations
2026/10/06
To round out our 2026 season, we brought back a friend of the show to discuss those who exceeded, met and fell below...our expectations. We also talk about those who miserably failed. You can bet the architect of this team will be in that proverbial jail. Plus, yours truly has a seismic trade offer to share, so you best not go anywhere.
Season Finale, Part 1: Reaction to David Stearns' Postmortem
2026/10/06
Our season finale episode is here, and it was so big, we had to split it into two. Here's part one, including reacting to what David Stearns said when he met the media on 9/28 to reflect on a season that was far from great.
2026: Put It in the Books
2026/09/29
Another week done where the Mets lost as much as they won. Now the 2026 season, one that started, but before too long wasn't, so fun, is gone like the setting sun. This week we close the book on a year that began with hope, but soon thereafter had us feeling like dopes. However, they did close strong, so now full-time manager Andy Green and those here in 2027 will look to get the team humming to a different song. We hope you'll come along.
Didn't You Remember?
2026/09/22
While the team had displayed recent success, the return of the Polar Bear to Queens brought a much-needed reality check for this year's New York Mets. We roared for his first 264 balls soared, but after hitting his 300th and 301st jack while wearing orange and black, it made us remember the mistake the organization made when they chose to not bring Pete Alonso back. Certain players felt like that was an attack, but it was more directed at David Stearns, who many of us feel is a sad sack. That sack's boss, owner Steve Cohen, had some words to share about the potential fresh perspectives the team's set to bring in to be a guiding voice in Stearns' ear. We also preview the last week of the year, both for the Mets and MLB as many teams fight for wins they need so desperately. The final 6 games are here in a season that had so many we'll likely forget. But we hope you come join us as we talk...Mostly Mets!
Ceremonies Galore and the Homecoming of the Polar Bear in Store
2026/09/14
The Mets have another winning week thanks in large part to a sweep of the fish, courtesy of the red-hot bats performing at the dish. We don't get our Subway Series win wish, but there's still a lot to be excited for. And, as the final homestand begins, we preview what the week has in store.
25 Years Later: Remembering 9/11 and how Baseball Brought NY Back
2026/09/08
The Mets have won 5 of their last 7. We'll talk about their winning week. We also welcome a special guest to honor the memory of those lost on that fateful day 25 years ago. And with round 2 of the 2026 Subway Series upcoming, how both the Mets and Yankees that fall put on a desperately needed show. Please join us wherever you go.
We Begin to Bid Adieu; College Football Preview
2026/09/01
The Mets lost both series they played this week, now making that 3 series lost in a row. As we begin the ultimate month of the season, we'll discuss how the past week went, and how the next month could go. We have on a guest who, when it comes to College Football, is definitely in the know. What does the upcoming season have in store? In this episode, we have that and a whole lot more!
Cowboy Up!
2026/08/25
After consecutive winning weeks, the Mets were unable to extend that streak. Instead, losing in walk-off fashion multiple times in the same series. On this week's episode, we'll discuss the up and down nature of the team's past 6 games. We'll bask in the terrific play of the two Oklahoma State Cowboys, Carson Benge and Nolan McLean. Talk about our trip to Chicago that included stops and both Rate and Wrigley Field. Then round out the show talking about the road ahead as the Mets return home to face MLB's best and worst division leader. So come listen and see how deep our love for this team goes.
Just Keep Swinging!
2026/08/18
The Mets continue swinging and they keep on winning! Another winning week that concludes with a 3-game sweep of the Nats, thanks to the team's bullpen and bats. On this week's episode, we'll delve into the Mets' spectacular performance over their past 12. We'll also say so long and farewell to a few people, including Tommy John, the patient of the sport's trailblazing surgery. Then we'll round out the show previewing the week ahead, one that sees the Mets play a series both at home and on the road. And we're going to Chicago! So, hop aboard and see what's in store.
That's the Way I Like It!
2026/08/11
For the first time since May, the Mets had a winning week at the conclusion of Sunday. On this week's episode, we'll talk about the team winning 5 of 6, thanks in large part to the effort swung by their sticks. We also highlight performances that could be a sign of better things to come. The kickoff of NFL preseason begins following Thursday's setting sun. Then there's the road ahead, where in order to take the season series against Atlanta, the Mets just need one. But why not take the series, too? Then they come home to play the Nationals in their red, white and blue. You'll join us, won't you?
Mets Make a Deal (Many of Them, Actually)
2026/08/04
Everyone must go! Or at least that's what it felt like since we last had our show. Today we discuss the many moves the Mets made, including the returns they received from each trade. No move, though, could save David Stearns from receiving a failing grade. There also were dozens of deals made throughout MLB, but one blockbuster stands out as it also stirs controversy. We then round out the show by talking through the Mets' week ahead. One they'll spend in The Land and The Pitt. This 2026 season sure has put us fans through it. So, let's talk who's out the door and what these final two months have in store.
The Match Game
2026/07/28
After another losing week, we'll talk about the teams the Mets could trade with, and whose prospects they could acquire to make their future look a little less bleak. We'll talk about the decision made by LeBron James, and in the road ahead talk about the '86 Mets 40th anniversary celebration as we fans yearn for the day when we can celebrate such a feat again. So, come join us, friends!
Where Do You Go Now?
2026/07/21
After a series win to open the schedule after the break, we talk about what these next two weeks before the trade deadline has at stake. Who are the players destined to go and who are the ones whose chances of departing are more so, so. The World Cup had a wonderful run, that much we know. Then, lastly, we'll discuss the cultures and identities of the Mets' next two foes as they could learn a few things from both the Brewers and Dodgers as they aim to recover from recent woes. You know how the saying goes...on with the show!
A First Half to Forget
2026/07/14
We've mercifully reached the All-Star break. You know what that means! Midterm grades are in. And we bring in a special guest to go through our midseason rankings. We also talk about the epic matchups coming up this week at the World Cup. Then we round out the show by discussing the road ahead. Hopefully this won't be a 2nd half we Met fans dread.
Ever The Same Vol. 2
2026/07/07
The Mets lose a series once again and begin the week on the verge of losing one more. We'll break down this latest stretch of play that's ultimately slammed the playoffs' door. We have reaction to Steve Cohen’s podcast appearance, including giving credence to the reporter friction between Soto and Lindor. There’s the World Cup to discuss as teams look to advance to round four. Then we've got the homestand up ahead as we wrap up the "first half" of the season with series’ against the Royals and the Sox that are red. We know this episode won't be something you'll dread.
