Episode 39: RC Car Racing - Just toy cars or is it proper racing?
2026/02/08
This week, the boys aren't at the pub (again)... instead, they are visiting one of the largest indoor RC car racing events in the UK... the 2026 MKGP. This isn't a bunch of blokes playing with toys, either. Oh no, the British Off Road Grand Prix brings 430 competitors from all over the world for three days of high speed, highly competitive racing right in the centre of the MK:Centre.  So, what do the boys make of these 1/10 scale electric off-road RC buggies, truggies and trucks? Well both have raced in their youth, so enjoy this special trip down memory lane. Recording February 2026.
Episode 37: TESLA drivers are GETTING AWAY with speeding! - And what car won the WhatCar? awards?
2026/01/25
This week, the boys are in a different pub but don't worry, thats the only change... In this episode, Tim has gone all giddy for the World Rally Championship with WRC Monte Carlo. Ian's Land Rover is back on the road (at last). There is also worrying - or annoying - news that some Tesla drivers are NOT being fined for speeding AND a host of cars have pick up awards at the annual WhatCar? awards. Oh and there is a new Bugatti, too, the one-off FKP.  All this and more - including a rather naughty confession from Ian - is in this episode of A Pint of Petrol. Recorded January 2026.
Episode 30: VauxALL South PLUS how many Fords do you have to sell to make the same profit as ONE FERRARI?
2025/10/05
It's the end of Show Season and the boys are back down the pub discussing Tim's latest show, VauxALL South. Did this new show down at Beaulieu hit the mark, or was it a wash out?  There is also some exciting news, as Tim reveals how many cars Ford need to sell to make the same amount of money as selling just one Ferrari... AND there is a bit of inside knowledge into the Ferrari buying tier system... thats right, you can't just go and buy one. Have a listen to find out. Recorded October 2025.
Episode 27: Down the pub for Ian's BIG SURPRISE
2025/09/07
In this episode of a Pint of Petrol, Ian and Tim are back down the pub and Ian has a big surprise for Tim... all the way from Germany, it arrived a week or two ago and Ian has been chomping at the bit to open it.  Also, the boys scour the news and discover just how desperate manufactures are to publish news when there is NOTHING going in the automotive industry... apart from one manufacturer, that is, who has be hacked and has COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN.  Get a drink in hand as the boys are back in their favourite place, doing what they love. Recorded September 2025.
Episode 23: The 2025 VBOA National Rally: The good old days of car shows
2025/08/10
In Ep 23 of a Pint of Petrol, Tim and Ian reminisce about the good old days of car shows - and how the 2025 VBOA National Rally brought that back. Earlier this year, the Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association (VBOA) had a big problem - they had no venue for their National Rally. The existing venue had hiked the prices to the point it was unviable and the team did find an alternative... however, just two hours after it was announced, the online backlash put the entire event at risk. What followed was one of the greatest returns seen in many years, with the 2025 Rally finding a new home and taking everyone who went a trip down memory lane.  Have a listen and find out why it was so good... Recorded in August 2025.
Episode 14: VauxALL the Way: They boys unpack Tim’s Tribute to the Griffin
2025/06/01
Welcome back to A Pint of Petrol... in Episode 14, the boys are talking about VauxALL, Tim's very own car show that pays tribute to all things Vauxhall, Opel and Bedford. What were the highlights from the 2025 show? What was the best club stand? And what's up next for the UK's leading Vauxhall show? Find out in this episode which, for many unexplained reason, was recorded at an airfield... drinking coffee. Recorded in May 2025.
Episode 3: Depreciation Disaster! These BRAND NEW cars & vans have LOST THOUSANDS!
2025/03/01
Welcome back to the third episode of A Pint of Petrol. Ian is in the driving seat this week and has found several brand new cars and vans that have LOST THOUSANDS off their list price. This is even before they have had a SINGLE OWNER, and some have covered just ONE MILE. Ian also shares a new heritage scheme from Renault and Tim sets them both a challenge for Episode 4... Recorded in February 2025.
