Caught in the Middle: How to Support Your Kids and Aging Parents Without Sacrificing Your Retirement
2026/09/29
What happens when everyone you love needs something from you financially? In this episode of She Talks Money, we’re talking about the “sandwich generation”—adults, and especially women, who find themselves supporting their children and aging parents while trying to protect their own financial future. We’ll unpack the hidden financial cost of caregiving, from reduced work hours and growing debt to putting retirement savings on the back burner. More importantly, we’ll talk about the conversations and boundaries that can help you prepare before a family crisis forces you to make decisions under pressure. You’ll learn what to discuss with aging parents about income, insurance, long-term care, legal documents, financial expectations, and end-of-life wishes; how to navigate responsibilities with siblings; and how to support adult children in ways that move them toward independence rather than creating long-term dependence. Because your retirement account is not the family emergency fund. By the end of the episode, you’ll have a framework for holding a family money meeting and creating three financial guardrails: what you’re willing to do for your kids, what you’re willing to do for your parents, and what you refuse to sacrifice in the process.
You Don’t Need Better Time Management—You Need Less to Manage | The Invisible Load, Ep. 2
2026/09/22
What if you’re not bad at time management? What if you simply have too much to manage? In Episode 2 of The Invisible Load of Successful Women on She Talks Money, we’re challenging the idea that high-achieving women just need a better planner, a more disciplined morning routine, or another productivity hack. Sometimes, the problem is simply the math. When your calendar is overflowing with work, family responsibilities, appointments, household tasks, financial decisions, and the countless invisible details you’re expected to remember, there may not be enough hours in the day to do it all—no matter how organized you are. In this episode, we talk about reviewing your calendar like a bank statement and putting everything into four buckets: eliminate, delegate, automate, and protect. We’ll unpack why delegation means giving someone true ownership—not continuing to manage the task from behind the scenes—and how simple systems like autopay, recurring orders, and automated routines can reduce your mental load. We also get into the harder part: guilt, perfectionism, and the identity that can come from being the person everyone needs. You’ll hear why paying for convenience can be an investment in buying back your time, why kids can take on age-appropriate responsibilities, and why sometimes 80% is enough. Most importantly, we talk about protecting actual white space—the time that restores you instead of giving you another opportunity to be productive. Your challenge this week: Write down one thing you can eliminate, one thing you can delegate, one thing you can automate, and one thing you need to protect. Because maybe you don’t need to get better at managing everything. Maybe you need less to manage.
You Make Good Money… So Why Do You Still Feel Broke? with Justin Bennett
2026/09/15
Making more money doesn’t automatically make you feel financially secure. This week on She Talks Money, I’m sitting down with financial coach and author Justin Bennett to talk about something so many people quietly struggle with: earning a good income but still wondering where all the money goes. Justin shares his own story of realizing that he and his wife had accumulated more than $100,000 in debt while living paycheck to paycheck—and how buying their first home became the wake-up call that forced them to look at their finances differently. We talk about why debt rarely happens overnight, why consolidation loans don’t fix the habits that created the problem, and why financial freedom has less to do with how much you make and more to do with how intentionally you manage what you have. Justin also walks us through his Financial Freedom Pyramid—from awareness and knowledge to commitment, momentum, and ultimately freedom—and explains why tracking your spending can be one of the most eye-opening things you do for your finances. We get into the psychology behind spending, the “cycle of regret,” budgeting without feeling like you can’t enjoy your life, and how couples can get on the same page financially without every money conversation turning into an argument. Because the goal isn’t to never spend money. It’s to know where your money is going, decide what actually matters to you, and build a financial life that gives you more freedom—not more stress. You’re Not Delegating If You Still Have to Ask: Part 1
2026/09/10
Delegating isn’t saying, “Can you empty the dishwasher?” or “Can you take out the trash?” Because if I still have to notice it, remember it, ask for it, and follow up on it… I’m still managing it. In this solo episode of She Talks Money, I’m talking about what real delegation looks like—both at work and at home—and why so many women think they’re delegating when they’re actually just handing out individual tasks while still carrying the mental load. I share how I’ve learned to delegate ownership instead of assignments, why letting go of control is necessary if you want to grow, and how clear expectations can change the way your business and household operate. We’ll also talk about the uncomfortable part of delegation: accepting that someone else might not do something exactly the way you would—and learning when that’s completely okay. Because whether you’re building a business, managing a household, raising a family, or doing all three, you cannot be the person who notices, remembers, assigns, and follows up on everything. The goal isn’t to get better at doing it all. It’s to stop believing you have to.
Creating a Home That Feels Like You with Brittany Hanson
2026/09/01
In this episode of She Talks Money, I sit down with Brittany Hanson, owner of Hanson Haven Interior Design, for a conversation about creating a home—and a life—that truly feels good from the inside out. One of my favorite reminders from this conversation is that your home doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. It doesn’t need to look like a magazine or follow every trend. Home should be a place that brings you peace, reflects who you are, and supports the way you actually want to live. Brittany and I also talk about something I care deeply about: women supporting women. I truly believe we are at our best when we encourage each other, celebrate each other’s wins, share what we’ve learned, and remind one another of what’s possible. Whether you’re creating a home, building a business, raising a family, or simply figuring out what you want your next chapter to look like, this conversation is a reminder that it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. It just needs to feel like yours. In this episode: 00:00 — Home Is PeaceWhy creating a beautiful home is less about perfection and more about creating a space that feels peaceful, personal, and intentional. 37:14 — Encouraging WomenWhy women supporting, inspiring, and encouraging other women can make such a powerful difference.
The Financial Decisions That Quietly Changed My Life
2026/08/25
In Part 2 of Conversations I Wish Someone Had With Me at 30, I’m sharing the financial decisions that weren’t flashy or exciting—but ultimately changed the trajectory of our life. Dave and I stayed in a modest townhome even as our income grew. I drove a Tahoe for more than 400,000 miles. And when we eventually moved, we chose to keep our first home and turn it into a rental instead of selling it. None of those choices made us look wealthy. But they gave us something far more valuable: margin. In this episode, I talk about the difference between being able to afford something and choosing whether it actually moves you closer to the life you want. Because as your income grows, so does the pressure to upgrade your house, your car, your lifestyle—and prove that you’re successful. But building wealth isn’t about looking rich. It’s about creating options, buying assets, investing intentionally, and giving yourself the freedom to make decisions from a place of choice instead of pressure. I’ll share why I stopped focusing only on how much money I could make and started thinking about how to make my money work for me—and the question I now ask before making big financial decisions: Am I buying freedom, or am I buying an image? If you’re in a season of earning more, wanting more, or wondering what your next financial move should be, this conversation is for you. And next week, we’re talking about another lesson I wish I had learned sooner: stop waiting until you feel ready.
The Success Trap: Why Achievement Won’t Make You Feel Like Enough
2026/08/18
I’m kicking off a new series called “Conversations I Wish Someone Had With Me at 30.” At 47, after building businesses, raising kids, experiencing success, making mistakes, and learning a lot of lessons the hard way, there are so many things I wish I could go back and tell my younger self. The first one: success will not fix your insecurity. For a long time, I thought the next goal would be the thing that finally made me feel confident. More money. More success. A bigger business. The right title. The next accomplishment. But what I’ve learned is that your circumstances can change while your insecurities come right along with you. In this episode, I’m talking about imposter syndrome, why so many ambitious women keep moving the goalpost, and what actually builds confidence. For me, it has been keeping promises to myself, doing hard things, acting with integrity, and proving to myself over and over again that I can trust who I am. Your worth cannot be tied to your income, your title, your appearance, your business, or an algorithm. Those things can change tomorrow. So I want you to ask yourself: Where am I expecting success to solve an insecurity that I actually need to work through myself? And if there’s another woman in your life who needs this conversation, send this episode to her. Next week, I’m getting practical and talking about the financial and real estate decisions I wish I understood earlier—and how they can create more freedom in your life.
From One Duplex to a Global Vision: Building Wealth & Confidence with Julissa Fuentes Roberts
2026/08/11
This week on She Talks Money, I sit down with Minnesota Realtor and entrepreneur Julissa Fuentes Roberts for a conversation about real estate, entrepreneurship, and learning to believe “I can.” Julissa shares how buying her first duplex—with a little push from her mom—helped her build equity, generate rental income, and ultimately gave her the confidence to leave corporate life and build a career in real estate. We talk about why you don't need to have everything figured out before you start, how one property can become a building block for something much bigger, and why the best businesses are built through relationships, education, and trust. Julissa also shares her global perspective on wealth and international real estate, how she's using AI and technology to grow without losing the personal connection, and what she's learned about building a team to expand her impact. We also dive into something so many women can relate to: letting go of the belief that we need to have all the answers before we're qualified to take the next step. Sometimes building the life you want starts with one simple belief: I can. 🎙️ Listen to this week's episode of She Talks Money wherever you get your podcasts.
What No One Tells You About Getting Pre-Approved
2026/08/04
Getting pre-approved is more than checking your credit and finding out how much house you can afford. There are several behind-the-scenes factors that can impact your approval—and even jeopardize your loan after you've already started shopping. In this episode, I'm breaking down what lenders are really looking at, including your debt-to-income ratio, job changes, seasoned funds, and the costly mistakes that can delay or even derail your closing. If you're planning to buy a home, this is the information I wish every buyer knew before they started the process.
The CEO Paycheck Mindset: How to Manage Your Business Money Without the Stress
2026/07/29
In this episode of She Talks Money, I'm talking about one of the biggest challenges that comes with being your own boss—and it has nothing to do with finding clients. It's learning how to manage your money with intention and creating healthy boundaries between your business and your personal finances. I share why separating your business and personal accounts is one of the smartest financial decisions you can make. Instead of moving money back and forth whenever you need it, I explain how paying yourself on a consistent schedule helps you think like a CEO, understand what your business is actually earning, and build long-term financial stability. We also dive into preparing for the reality of inconsistent income. I talk about why every entrepreneur should have two emergency funds: one for your personal life to cover three to six months of living expenses, and another for your business to help you navigate slower seasons without panic. Plus, I share simple strategies like setting aside money for taxes and budgeting for support—whether that's childcare, a house cleaner, or other help that gives you back the time and energy to focus on growing your business. If you're tired of wondering where your money is going or feeling like your business is running you instead of the other way around, this episode will give you practical strategies to build a stronger financial foundation, reduce stress, and start managing your business like the CEO you are.

The Small Decisions That Build Big Success with Realtor Amanda Miller
2026/07/14
Success isn't built in one big moment—it's built through the small decisions we make every single day. In this week's episode of She Talks Money, I sit down with Realtor and business owner Amanda Miller for an honest conversation about what it really takes to build a successful business and a life you're proud of. We talk about leaving a corporate career, taking calculated risks, building confidence without seeking validation, protecting your personal power, and why the best advisors lead with education—not sales. Amanda also shares why waiting for the "perfect" time, whether in business or buying a home, often keeps people stuck. This conversation is filled with practical wisdom for entrepreneurs, women in business, and anyone looking to make confident decisions that align with the life they're building. 🎙️ Listen wherever you get your podcasts.
Mid-Year Reset: Finding Balance and Joy
2026/07/07
As we reach the middle of the year, I think so many of us are feeling the same thing, exhausted. We've spent months showing up for work, taking care of our families, checking things off our to-do lists, and pouring into everyone else. But when was the last time you checked in with yourself? In this week's solo episode of She Talks Money, I'm inviting you to press pause for a simple midyear life reset. Not a productivity reset, a life reset. We'll reflect on what you're actually proud of this year, what you're looking forward to, and walk through a simple exercise to evaluate four important areas of your life: money, health, relationships, and joy. Because you're not behind. And sometimes the smallest shifts create the biggest changes. Take five minutes for yourself this week, you deserve it. And if this episode encourages you, share it with another woman who could use this reminder, and let me know which episode from the Summer Well series has impacted you the most. 🤍
TEDx Speaker Angelica Ventrice on Escaping the Identity Trap
2026/06/30
In this week’s episode of She Talks Money, I sit down with TEDx speaker, high-performance coach, and holistic health expert Angelica Ventrice for a powerful conversation about the identity trap so many high-achieving women find themselves in. We talk about how the same identity that helps us achieve success can also lead to burnout, disconnection, and feeling like we've lost ourselves along the way. Angelica shares her own journey—from becoming a top pharmaceutical sales representative to walking away from a successful seven-figure fitness business to pursue work that aligned more deeply with who she was becoming. Together, we explore what it really looks like to reinvent yourself, why letting go of old identities can feel like grief, how burnout often shows up long before we recognize it, and why so many women stay loyal to versions of themselves that no longer serve them. We also dive into how nervous system regulation impacts our decisions, our relationships, and our ability to lead, along with simple, practical tools you can start using today to create more peace, energy, and alignment. If you've ever felt like you've outgrown the life you've built, this conversation is your reminder that you're allowed to evolve. Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is stop asking who you've always been—and start asking who you're becoming.
Summer of Wealth: Creating Memories and Valuing Time
2026/06/23
This week on She Talks Money, I’m sharing one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from being around successful women: they don’t necessarily spend more money, they spend their time differently. With only two more summers before my daughter graduates, I’ve been thinking deeply about how quickly these seasons pass and how intentional we need to be with the moments that matter most. In this episode, I talk about why wealthy women treat time as an asset, prioritize experiences over things, protect their energy, and stop waiting for “someday” to enjoy their lives. I’ll also challenge you to choose three memories you want to create before Labor Day and put them on the calendar today. Because the memories we create with the people we love are the things that truly compound over time. Tune in and don’t miss next week’s final episode in this series, where we’ll be doing a powerful midyear reset.
