I Bought This Farm Twice | The Story of the Meigs 187
2026/09/24
I recorded this one from the truck, talking through a farm I couldn’t quite let go of. The Meigs 187 is back in my hands for the second time. I share how I ended up buying it back, why this farm means so much to me, and what I’ve got planned for it moving forward. Oh, and there’s a certified Booner on the property right now. You’d better buy this farm before I go take him out myself. Actually… don’t buy it. I really want to hunt that deer.
#70 From Zoning Headaches to a Big Win: Navigating Small Town Pushback
2026/08/26
This episode is part property story, part business lesson, and part behind-the-scenes look at how land deals really get done. I walk through the rezone approval that finally unlocked several buildable tracts, the tradeoffs required to get there, and why transparency mattered every step of the way. I also share a deep property highlight from Megs County and explain why the deer genetics, access, and setup make it such a standout piece. It’s a practical episode for anyone who seeks to build Legacy through land.
#69 Illinois Farm Updates, Flooded Roads & Windshield Thoughts
2026/08/13
This week’s episode is a little different—and a lot less polished. I hit record on the drive home from a few days in Illinois and recapped where things stand on our lease farms, what we’re working toward this fall and the time we spent with Chris Brackett in Knox County. The weather kept us from getting any actual work done there, but Chris is going to help us lay out and install the food plots—and spending time with somebody who knows whitetails and habitat like he does is never wasted. Between flooded roads, detours and trying to find my way back to Ohio, I let the recorder run and shared some honest thoughts about the farms, the plans and what I’m learning along the way. No studio. No polished outline. Just a windshield recap from Illinois.
The Hidden Costs of Rezoning Land - And How I Overcame Them
2026/08/05
You don’t respect what you don’t inspect. That was my biggest lesson this week—and unfortunately, I learned it by finding things in my own business that weren’t being handled the way I thought they were. In this episode, I walk through what was happening with the marketing of our Muskingum County properties, what I found when I finally inspected the process myself, and the changes we made that helped get both the 20-acre tract and the combined 78-acre farm under contract. I also share an update on our Fairfield County subdivision project and what we’ve learned while working through zoning, deed restrictions, neighbor concerns, and township opposition. This isn’t a polished success story told after everything went perfectly. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the frustrations, mistakes, adjustments, and wins that come with buying, improving, marketing, and selling land. Whether you own a business, manage land, or invest in real estate, the lesson is the same: accountability starts with inspection. If you aren’t willing to look closely at what’s actually happening, you can’t expect it to improve.

Scaling with Purpose: Jeff Klump on Leadership, Family, and Innovation
2026/07/22
Jeff Klump’s story is a powerful look at what happens when discipline, patience, and execution meet opportunity. In this episode, Jeff walks through his journey from growing up outdoors in southwest Indiana to serving in the Marine Corps, building Mid America Safety Solutions, launching Waterfeather, and eventually acquiring Novix. Along the way, he shares what it took to grow a business from a truck and a couple employees into a major operation, why family always comes first, and how his passion for the outdoors shaped every major decision. #64 The Deals, the Diagnosis, and the Dirt: T Bone Turner Unfiltered
2026/06/24
Tyler sits down with outdoor icon, humorist, and land investor T Bone Turner for a wide-ranging conversation that spans his entire journey—from a kid obsessed with archery to a tournament champion, pro shop owner, and one of the most recognizable faces in hunting TV through Realtree and Bone Collector. T Bone pulls back the curtain on the early days with David Blanton and Michael Waddell, the real story behind both the "Bone Collector" name and his own "T-Bone" nickname, and the wild logistics of filming hunting TV in the OG generator-and-truck era. He also gets candid about the DIY Iowa buck that changed everything, his transition into buying, managing, and flipping land across Kansas, Georgia, and Oklahoma, and the relationships that made it all work. But the heart of this episode is bigger than trophies. T Bone shares his battle with cancer and how it reshaped his outlook—why he now values health and relationships over any rack on the wall, and the legacy he hopes to leave behind for the next generation of hunters and outdoor entrepreneurs. Whether you're here for the hunting stories, the land investing wisdom, or the hard-earned life lessons, this one delivers.

#60 What it Takes to Know Your Ground with Brett Smith
2026/05/13
What separates a real outdoor consultant from someone just claiming the title? Brett Smith has the answer — and it starts with getting your boots on the ground. In this episode, Tyler sits down with Brett Smith to talk about what it actually takes to consult across different hunting environments, why no two properties are the same, and how hands-on experience beats theory every single time.
