Description

The Group Chat Podcast is four friends sitting down and having the same kind of conversations you’d hear in a group text—only with microphones and absolutely no guarantee where the conversation is going. Hosted by Casey Gisclair, Damien St. Pierre, Nick Hebert and Tommy Badeaux, the show mixes sports, pro wrestling, South Louisiana stories, local personalities, ridiculous debates, games, drafts and plenty of friendly trash talk. One minute we’re breaking down college football or boxing, the next we’re debating hurricane survival picks, reliving old-school wrestling, or arguing over something that probably never should have become an argument in the first place. No scripts, no experts—just four friends, four opinions and one conversation that can go anywhere. Welcome to the Group Chat.

GCP: S2, E8 - BJ Young Talks Tarpon Football + Mitch Orgeron Gives Parish Updates
2026/08/28
Only the Group Chat Podcast can go from breaking down Friday night football to asking the Parish President why nobody can cross the damn bayou. South Lafourche Tarpons head coach BJ Young joins the boys to preview the upcoming season, talk about his young squad, the weapons on offense, the madness behind his playbook, Coach Mike Woods, and why South Lafourche football might be ready to surprise some people this year. Then things get VERY local. Lafourche Parish President Mitch Orgeron pulls up to the studio to talk BRIDGES — the Scully Canal Bridge closure, the Cote Blanche situation, emergency repairs, DOTD, traffic nightmares and what actually happens next for everyone trying to get up and down the bayou. And because this is still the Group Chat, we somehow find time for LSU, college football chaos, Lil Games, the mailbag and the usual collection of completely unnecessary arguments. Football. Politics. Bridges. Jambalaya. Chaos. Welcome to the Group Chat. And as always… God Bless America and Go Tarpons. 🌪️ GCP Mount Rushmore: Cat 1 Hurricane Survival Kits
2026/08/11
🌪️ THE GROUP CHAT HURRICANE SURVIVAL MOUNT RUSHMORE A Category 1 hurricane just rolled through Cut Off. The houses survived, but the power is gone for FIVE DAYS. Four men. Four rounds. And apparently absolutely zero agreement on what the word “survival” means. We put together a Mount Rushmore-style snake draft of the things we’d want most to survive five miserable, sweaty days without electricity — and things immediately went off the rails. Nick comes out swinging with a generator and basically drafts ALL electricity. Tommy responds by claiming the entire Ryobi/DeWalt battery-powered catalog like he just won a Home Depot shopping spree. Damien starts building an actual post-hurricane compound with solar power, portable A/C and enough food to feed the neighborhood. Meanwhile, Casey’s survival strategy appears to be Wi-Fi, Starlink, cold beer and gasoline so he can sit in his air-conditioned vehicle and scroll Facebook while everyone else rebuilds civilization. Things only get worse when we realize that by the rules of our own stupid draft, one person owns all the gas, another owns all the ice, somebody has apparently cornered the world’s generator market, and WATER somehow falls all the way to Mr. Irrelevant. Along the way we debate swimming pools, grills, frozen meat, phone service, kids’ iPads, radios, Baker Mayfield cards and — because this is the Group Chat — a souped-up bidet. Then we discover that NONE OF US DRAFTED A RADIO. But don’t worry. Casey has all the Wi-Fi. We also close things out by exposing our buddy Tyrus for accidentally living with 1995 internet settings for a YEAR because of something that started in our group chat. You're welcome, Tyrus. 😂 Who built the best hurricane survival setup? Who completely screwed themselves? And what four items are making YOUR Mount Rushmore? 🎙️ Group Chat Podcast: Mount Rushmore Where four grown men can turn basic hurricane preparedness into a competitive sport.
GCP: S2, E3 - Blue Boot, Baker Mayfield & Brass Knuckles
2026/08/11
Blue Boot, Baker Mayfield & Brass Knuckles — what more could you want? 😂 The Group Chat is back for another episode, and this one goes everywhere. We recap the Blue Boot Rodeo, break down the World Cup, and debate whether the USA is actually getting any closer to competing with the world’s elite. Then things get heated when Baker Mayfield enters the conversation — and Tommy is ready to defend his guy. We also try to figure out what exactly the New Orleans Pelicans are doing, talk WWE, and fantasy-book the matchup nobody knew they needed: Tom Brady vs. Logan Paul. Naturally, that somehow turns into Brady using his Super Bowl rings as brass knuckles. Plus, we look back at Mustang Mike's final match, the chaos of Cajun Heat, One Man Gang still taking bumps at 66 years old, and plenty more from the Louisiana wrestling scene. Later, the conversation shifts to high school football, EA Sports College Football, SEC football and the potential future of college athletics. 🎙️ Group Chat Podcast — Season 2 Four friends. 🥊 Inside the Ring – Episode 2: Homer “The Nature Boy” Gibbins
2026/08/08
🥊 Inside the Ring – Episode 2: Homer “The Nature Boy” Gibbins Former world champion Homer “The Nature Boy” Gibbins joins the Group Chat Podcast for an unforgettable trip through a life spent inside the squared circle. Homer takes us from his early days in amateur boxing to the professional ranks, sharing stories about Evander Holyfield, Lou Duva, legendary trainer George Benton, Hector “Macho” Camacho, Jean Pascal, and the fighters, trainers and promoters he encountered during his career. But this episode goes much deeper than wins and losses. Homer opens up about the business and politics of professional boxing, fighting on short notice, being the opponent in another fighter’s hometown, the physical risks fighters accept every time they step through the ropes, and some unbelievable behind-the-scenes stories that never made the headlines. Then the conversation comes home to Lafayette, Louisiana. Homer revisits his memorable three-fight rivalry with Louisiana boxer Chad Broussard—including their first fight at a packed Blackham Coliseum, the controversial decision, the rematch, the knockout, and the respect that developed between two men who went 26 rounds against each other. And then something happens that nobody planned. In the middle of the interview, Chad Broussard unexpectedly joins the podcast. For the first time on Group Chat Podcast, the two former rivals sit together and tell the story from both sides of the rivalry—and what comes through isn't bitterness. It's friendship, faith and tremendous mutual respect. Homer explains that Chad never had to give him a second or third fight, while Chad talks about why those fights ultimately helped both men and the friendship they developed afterward. Three fights. 26 rounds. Two fighters. One incredible story. Whether you're a longtime boxing fan, remember the glory days of professional boxing in Lafayette and South Louisiana, or simply love hearing stories from people who actually lived them, this episode of Inside the Ring is one you don't want to miss. 🎙️ Group Chat Podcast: Inside the Ring – Episode 2 🥊 Featuring Homer “The Nature Boy” Gibbins 👊 Surprise appearance by Chad Broussard Subscribe to the Group Chat Podcast so you don't miss future episodes of Inside the Ring as we sit down with the fighters, promoters and personalities who helped build boxing history—one story at a time.  key  topics Homer Gibbons' start in wrestling and transition to boxing Amateur career with over 250 fights Training with Pernel Whitaker and Lou Duva Memorable fights including Hector Camacho and Chad Broussard The politics of boxing and fight arrangements Life lessons from boxing and post-retirement activities The significance of respect and sportsmanship in boxing Chapters 00:00 Introduction and Homer Gibbons' background 01:10 How Homer got into boxing from wrestling 04:16 Amateur career and transition to professional boxing 07:25 Training with Lou Duva and Georgie Benton 11:16 Memorable fights and fight night stories 16:29 Fighting Hector Camacho and fight politics 23:59 Most meaningful fights and boxing lessons 32:12 Reflections on boxing and life after retirement   Subscribe • Follow • Share • One More Round #GroupChatPodcast #InsideTheRing #HomerGibbins #ChadBroussard #BoxingPodcast #BoxingHistory #LouisianaBoxing #LafayetteLouisiana #HectorCamacho #EvanderHolyfield #JeanPascal #LouDuva #ProfessionalBoxing #BoxingLegends #FightStories

GCP (S2, E4) - The Summer of Corporate Casey, the Episode Nobody Asked for
2026/05/30
The boys are back... well, half the boys. With Nick and Tommy missing in action, Casey and Damien take the wheel for a two-man edition of the Group Chat Podcast, which somehow goes exactly as you'd expect. The guys dive into the South Lafourche softball coaching drama, discuss why Facebook comment sections should probably require a license, debate tax reform despite admitting they're wildly unqualified, and wonder if Grand Isle town meetings are secretly performance art. Along the way they tackle: 🏀 Flash TDC League updates 🥎 The coaching carousel nobody asked for 🎣 Blue Boot Bombs taking over Louisiana sports 🏀 Golden Meadow's new basketball court 🏆 James Harden slander 🎤 Coach O's return to LSU 📱 Facebook drama correspondents (applications now being accepted) 💍 Broadcasting live from Kyle's wedding 🚨 And approximately 47 other topics It's an hour of sports, community talk, questionable opinions, and enough rabbit trails to make a GPS quit. No script. No plan. No Nick. No Tommy. Just Casey and Damien trying to keep the train on the tracks. #GroupChatPodcast #OneMoreRoundStudios #BayouSports #FlashTDCLeague #SouthLafourche #LouisianaSports #PopUpPodcast #CorporateCasey #CommunityServiceDamien
🎙️ Group Chat Podcast – S2, E3 Segment: “What Would You Rather?” (aka Psychological Warfare)
2026/04/28
🎙️ Group Chat Podcast – S2, E3 Segment: “What Would You Rather?” (aka Psychological Warfare) Welcome back to the most unserious serious debate on the internet. This week, the Group Chat takes a simple game and turns it into a full-blown argument that somehow includes: questionable life choices unnecessary confidence and at least one person defending something they absolutely should not be defending 💀 The question sounds easy… until it’s not: Would you rather deal with love bugs that bite like gnats… OR have love bug season last 12 months a year? Yeah… exactly. What starts as a harmless “would you rather” quickly spirals into: 👉 people changing their answers mid-sentence 👉 someone getting irrationally angry about bugs 👉 and a debate that lasts WAY longer than it should No facts. No research. Just vibes, bad takes, and elite-level arguing. 🎧 If you’ve ever yelled at your friends over something completely pointless… this segment is for you. 👇 Drop your answer in the comments (and be ready to get roasted for it)
🎸 Group Chat Podcast (S2, E3) – Mount Rushmore: Best Dad Rock Band of All Time
2026/04/28
🎸 Group Chat Podcast (S2, E3) – Mount Rushmore: Best Dad Rock Band of All Time This one got LOUD… and slightly aggressive 😂 The boys dive headfirst into the ultimate Dad Rock debate, where logic goes out the window and nostalgia takes over. It starts off simple… until one pick sparks a full-blown barroom flashback: 🍻 A legendary story about “Big Steve” — the OG concert menace who would crush 1,000 beers and DEMAND AC/DC no matter who was on stage. Play it? You’re legends. Don’t? You’re TRASH. Simple. From there, it turns into a heated debate of hit-after-hit bands, including a passionate defense of Foreigner as the most underrated killers in classic rock history. 🎤 Is AC/DC the undisputed king of dad rock? 🎤 Is Foreigner actually the sneaky #1 pick? 🎤 And which bands are getting WAY too much credit?? No rules. No structure. Just grown men yelling about bands their dads played in the truck. 👇 Drop your Mount Rushmore of Dad Rock in the comments and be ready to defend it. #DadRock #ACDC #Foreigner #ClassicRock #MountRushmore #GroupChatPodcast #FunnyPodcast #Debate #FYP
Group Chat Podcast (S2, E3) | Not Mott's Mailbag "The Internet Should NOT Have Given Us These Questions"
2026/04/26
Welcome back to Not Mott’s Mailbag… aka “We asked AI for questions and immediately regretted it.” Powered by pure chaos (and ChatGPT), this segment starts off innocent… and then goes completely off the rails. 🤯 WHAT WE TALKED ABOUT Would you want to know the exact date you die… or just live in blissful ignorance? What age officially makes you “old” (and why everyone over 40 is catching strays) Would you rather: Stop brushing your teeth 😬 OR stop wiping your ass 🤢 Cajun uncles vs high school coaches trash talk debate The most overrated Louisiana festivals (we said what we said) Why outsiders absolutely ruin crawfish culture And somehow… we debated whether a nutria could beat 50 crawfish 🚨 THEN IT GOT WEIRD… FAST Because this is where things spiraled: “If aliens landed in Lafourche… what confuses them first?” “What would you change rain into?” (someone said tacos… terrible idea) “Would you be late forever or early forever?” (anxiety kicked in) AND THEN… We somehow ended up in: 👉 The most insane hypothetical legal case ever 👉 A full debate about Siamese twins, marriage, and custody 👉 And a conversation that probably gets us banned in 3 countries   💀 BOTTOM LINE This segment has: ✔ Zero structure ✔ Questionable morals ✔ Life decisions you should NOT follow ✔ And at least 3 moments where we should’ve stopped talking But didn’t. 🎧 WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH If you like: Random debates Dark humor Louisiana chaos And friends arguing like idiots This is your episode.
Group Chat Podcast (S2,E3) | “NBA is Cooked, Saints are Hurt, Boxing is Chaos 😂
2026/04/26
The Group Chat Podcast is BACK… and this episode went completely off the rails. We start with the NFL Draft and immediately realize the Saints are building a hospital roster instead of a football team. If your WR1 and WR2 need matching hospital beds… is it even a rebuild anymore?? Then we jump into the NBA playoffs where: OKC is apparently unbeatable The Knicks are doing Knicks things And somehow we’ve all watched a total of 6 minutes combined So yeah… expert analysis as always. BUT THEN… We get into Bayou Brawling weekend and things escalate FAST: A guy fought with no teeth and no mouthpiece (yes, seriously) A main event ended in a DQ that nobody understands Fans nearly caused a full-on riot And the night ended with police escorts and “don’t leave the room” warnings Just your normal Friday/Saturday in Louisiana. Oh—and somewhere in the middle of all this: We debated Saved by the Bell trivia like it mattered Argued about pizza sauce And questioned if the Pelicans should just… move cities 🎧 SEGMENTS IN THIS EPISODE Saints draft reactions (aka medical evaluations) NBA playoff frauds & contenders Bayou Brawling recap + Zane Marks controversy Mount Rushmore + What Would You Rather Random chaos that somehow makes sense 🧠 BOTTOM LINE This episode has: ✔ Bad takes ✔ Great takes ✔ Fights ✔ Almost fights ✔ And zero structure Just how GCP likes it.
Group Chat Podcast (S2.E2): “Freezer Burn Pre-Fight + DTB Sports Rundown”
2026/04/17
The Group Chat Podcast is BACK and completely off the rails in Episode 2. No script, no plan… just vibes and chaos. Casey and Damien hold it down with a full Down The Bayou sports rundown, breaking down All-Region teams, coaching shakeups, and why the talent around here is just built different. If you love local hoops talk… you’re getting it. If you don’t… you’re still getting it. Then things take a turn. Freezer Burnt joins the show 24 HOURS before fight night and proceeds to: Call out his opponent Guarantee a win (respectfully disrespectfully) Break down his “4-piece combo” like it’s a Popeyes special Confirm that half of Lockport is pulling up We also get into: LSU panic season (for no reason as usual) Wrestling takes that may or may not be accurate Random ChatGPT questions that spiral the show into nonsense And somehow… Burger King sponsorship opportunities At some point, we go from serious sports talk… to debating life, fighting, and why some people probably shouldn’t be allowed near a boxing ring. Moral of the episode: If you came for structure… you’re in the wrong place. If you came for laughs, local takes, and pure Group Chat energy… welcome home.

Group Chat Podcast - Mount Rushmore: The GOAT Louisiana Seasons We’ll Defend Forever
2026/02/07
This week’s Mount Rushmore segment, proudly sponsored by Precision Agri-Spray, asked a simple question with an impossible answer: 👉 What are the GOAT Louisiana sports team seasons of all time? What followed was pure chaos. From the obvious (2019 LSU football) to the deeply personal (1998 undefeated Tulane, 2000 Saints, 98 Saints for reasons no one can defend), this Mount Rushmore had everything: • Childhood core memories • Questionable stat checks • Saints trauma • LSU baseball rule-changing dominance • CP3 lobs, Gorilla Ball, cha-ching Saints, and bayou high school legends • And at least one pick made strictly out of spite This is not a rankings show. This is not objective. This is a group therapy session disguised as a Mount Rushmore. If you agree with the list — you’re lying. If you hate the list — perfect, that’s the point. 🎧 Sponsored by Precision Agri-Spray 💬 Argue with us in the comments ⚜️ God bless… and go Tarps
