Special Guest Kevin Roberts is back and bringing his data and analytics with him! This time we're talking about the V8 engine, and how it's on a little bit of a rebound!

I'll bet you didn't think you could find a list of 10 vehicles that have AWD for under $30,000, destination INCLUDED, but yes, you can, we found 14! But here we make a list of 10 of our favorite affordable vehicles equipped for the impending season. There are some genuinely good vehicles here, let us know which ones YOU would put in your driveway!

This week Matt and Elliot dive into car warranties–what are the different types, what do they cover, should you buy an extended warranty? And then present a Driveway on the Highway segment while driving the All-New second generation Volkswagen Atlas while on the first-drive program in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a wide-ranging episode, and we hope you enjoy it!

This week we welcome back a returning guest, Kevin Roberts, our in-house economist at CarGurus (to put it simply). We're talking about the car market in the fall of 2026, and ask the question, where are all the 2027s??

This week we're diving into the future, what cars are we absolutely most excited to drive in the coming 2027 model year? There's some genuinely exciting cars on the horizon, so we sit down to talk about a few of them! A few previous, the Subaru Getaway and Toyota Highlander, the Mini Cooper Electric, the Audi Q9, and many more. Let us know what you're most excited for in the coming year!

In this episode, we revisit and revise our previous list of the best tailgating vehicles, now current for 2026. The list is strong this year, and we also dive in to Matt and Dave's recent travels to see the all new Jeep Recon with Dave and the refreshed Volvo XC60 and XC40 with Matt. This is a good one folks, thanks for joining!

It's September, so we're heading back to school. Wether you're a parent looking to help the students in your life or you're a student leaving home yourself, we've put together a list of 10 excellent choices for a variety of needs, all with a price cap of $15,000. Let us know which picks of ours you like, and of course, what we missed!

We were lucky enough to sit down with Joshua Dilts, a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) from car seat manufacturer Chicco. We talk all about child safety in vehicles, car seat dos and don'ts, and some personal stories from our time as parents. If you've ever wondered "How should I be doing this, and when should I move to the next seat?" there's a great chance we talk about it here! For Baby Safety Month, we're also launching the Family Fit Factor with CarGurus and Chicco, an all-encompassing content hub on CarGurus.com with articles and resources for parents: https://www.cargurus.com/brand/family-car-shopping Enjoy the episode, and say hello in the comments!

This week Elliot, Dave, and Matt sat down around the table to talk our favorite SUVs that ALSO get great gas mileage. Before that though, we bid a fond farewell to a colleague that you know and love, and go through a bit of the week's news. Let us know if you agree with our picks!

In this episode, we talk through the cars that no one seems to be buying, or at least are buying in small numbers. Sometimes there's a good reason why a car isn't flying off dealer lots, but other times, it's a bit more of a curiosity why they aren't selling. Hopefully, we've been able to bring some interesting cars into the conversation. Which ones would buy from our list?

We're going camping this week, and we're talking about which cars are the best ones to get us there. But wait, camping means different things to different people, so we're talking about all of it, overlanding, off-roading, car camping, even sleeping IN your car. Join us as we go camping this week on the Driveway!

We're back with another Natalie and Elliot one on one episode! This time we're talking the best sedans for a family. Natalie has never owned a crossover and has no plans to, she is a sedan loyalist, and both Natalie and Elliot are parents to small kids, so they know all about the car seat challenges that can arise from a smaller vehicle. They come away from this episode with a fantastic list of ten great and diverse sedans ready for family duty!

We wish we could set the number a bit lower, but $35,000 is where the options for good new and/or slightly used vehicles with family duty in mind really get interesting. Natalie and Elliot sit down at the table to come up with a list of 10 GREAT new and used options.

Mark Takahashi brought joy to so many across the industry, and the CarGurus team is deeply saddened by the news of his passing. Mark was a valued member of our community—a gifted writer and presenter, he was welcoming and pleasure to work with. No matter the assignment, Mark made the workday better and filled every room with smiles and laughter. Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and his many colleagues. --------- There aren't a massive amount of minivans on the market today in 2026, but there are some really GOOD minivans on the market. Each one seems to specialize in one or two areas, so we sat down to talk through each of them, what they do well (and not so well) and which one we would actually choose for our families! Let us know if you agree, and of course if you disagree as well!

It's time for our annual Future Classics episode! Which cars available today will eventually be considered a classic? Join us as we create a list of contenders!
