Join The Daily Tism writers Sara Gibbs, Elsa Williams and Sarah Amero as they wax lyrical about getting make-up advice from child beauty pageants, the worst Chappell Roan song to play at a funeral and whether your Christian primary school was actually a cult.  Autistic Women Oversharing is the podcast where everything is autistic and nothing is off limits. It'll make you laugh, cry and say "thank God I've got my headphones in".  Support us and get exclusive podcast/Daily Tism content, as well as access to live events: https://www.patreon.com/TheDailyTism.

It's a Superpower?? needs your help
2026/09/28
We’re coming back for a second season! But to do that, we’re going to need your help. We’re Crowdfunding at https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/its-a-superpower-season-two to raise the £30k we need to cover production costs! Check out the many exclusive rewards (including personalised voice memos from the cast, a baking booklet as written by Sophie and a chance to be immortalised in the show itself). While we might look like a slick, well-funded operation, we are actually a tiny independent team of autistic women funding this work out of our own pockets for the sheer love of it. Your help goes towards easing the financial version on us to pay our team the industry standard they deserve!  Alternatively, you can help us out and get a bunch of bonus content from the show, The Daily Tism & our podcast Autistic People Oversharing over on Patreon at Patreon.com/TheDailyTism Thank you so much for your support - it means the world and we can’t wait to bring you more It’s a Superpower?? Autistic Women Oversharing - It’s a Superpower?? Special
2026/08/16
Gather round the old wireless, autistic family and bask in the brief between-seasons return of the podcast that never should have left the group chat. In this very special episode of Autistic Women Oversharing, Sara and Sarah are joined by The Daily Tism team member and resident badass Hare Lockwood to discuss the making of our hit audio sitcom, It’s a Superpower?? All your burning questions answered: What is the show about? Who did we have to hypnotise to get these A-listers to do cameos? And how many times DID we make Guy Kelly cry? We hope you enjoy nerding out with us over this wonderful, silly and heartfelt sitcom we’ve made. You can check out It’s a Superpower?? weekly wherever you get podcasts or listen to the whole thing early and ad-free at selected tiers on our Patreon.   Autistic Women Oversharing is a Daily Tism production. S02 E08 - Season Finale: Coping Mechanisms ft. Holly Smale
2026/03/05
In the season 2 finale of Autistic Women Oversharing, bestselling author, Geek Girl creator and now Bearded Dragon mum (???) Holly Smale joins the Sara/hs to chat about our coping mechanisms, the healthy, the uh… somewhat less healthy and the downright insane.  Settle into your homemade triple-layer sensory deprivation system, strategically dissociate and grab your troll-eating tigers - it’s time to learn how to be the pilot of your own colour-coded life, no matter how unqualified you might be.  Enjoy a few Autistic Women Oversharing firsts, including the first episode to be interrupted by a cockroach delivery and the first time Sarah reduces Sara to stunned silence.  We’ll be back next season with more exciting nonsense. In the meantime, gently put your anxieties to bed and stay away from Fretsylvania. Until autumn - kloveyoubyeeeee (whatever that means).byeeeeeee (whatever that means). Can't get enough 'Tism? S02 E07 - Sensory Icks ft. Grace Jarvis
2026/02/26
Grab your massive ear defenders, your wrap-around sunnies and your weighted blanket - the hilarious Grace Jarvis is back with some good, and of course, very bad, advice on staying safe from all the most hideous sensory icks. Join the writers of The Daily Tism as we explain why standup gigs for Autism Parents are a trap, who may and may not hug us and the essential components of a decent hug (squeezing good, back pats bad).  Also in this episode, why mouth noises should be punishable by death, our handy guide for how to sneeze in different languages and the potential gadgets in Sara’s inevitable bionic teeth. Oh, and our thesis on why car horns should come with helpful tone indicators. Why aren’t we in charge of things?  Enjoy the episode and we hope you manage to avoid the hazards of your sensory nightmares, as well as sugar-free sweets, motorbikes and door-to-door onion salesmen. S02 E06 - Rob and Sara's Guide to Friendship, ft. Robert
2026/02/19
Our warm, fuzzy two-parter on autistic relationships continues with another very special guest: Sara's childhood best friend Robert! From meeting as two misfit kids to bonding over Top of the Pops to becoming Actual Proper Adults together, their friendship has stood the test of time (another reason for Sara to call herself old). Alongside some thorough, well-reasoned speculation on why they've managed to stay besties for so long, plus some really bloody good advice about being a better friend to the autistic people in your lives, Robert and Sara dig into their shared history for tales of 90s music, bitchy phone calls and brushes with pop stardom. And a VERY eventful trip to Italy. Can't get enough 'Tism? S2 E05 - All About Amero ft. Charlie Merriman
2026/02/12
Yes, yes, Valentine's Day is a total cash-grab, but love is real! And we can prove it! In this Very Special Episode, actor, presenter and content creator Charlie Merriman bravely subjects himself to a thorough grilling from Sara about what his intentions are with her co-host. If you want inspiring insights from a mixed-neurotype relationship, there's plenty of that. If you just want to hear about Austenesque first impressions, feeling like a prize heifer, shattering Sarah's tough-girl image, and how to be irresistible to men via the medium of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, there's a healthy amount of that as well. Strap in, and let's heap praise and affection on Sarah until all the comedy leaves her body! Charlie Merriman is an actor, writer, presenter and commentator for Pokémon. His acting profile can be found @CharlieMerriman/@charliefpmerriman and Pokémon profile @Chazingdra across socials. He is also a Pokémon YouTuber & streamer and the host of his own (infinitely more sensible) podcast, Chazingdra Chats, a Desert Island Discs-style deep dive into the life stories of the Pokémon community - available wherever you get your podcasts.Charlie's one-man show, WONDER DRUG: A Comedy about Cystic Fibrosis, sold out at the VAULT Festival in advance of its transfer to the King's Head Theatre and subsequent success at the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the Pleasance. S2 E04 - Things We’ve Been Proven Wrong About ft. Hare Lockwood
2026/02/05
This week, we're joined by Hare Lockwood, comedian, Daily Tism writer and co-founder of Coherent Comedy, to discuss all the things we're happy to have been proven wrong about. This one gets pretty deep, guys, but we promise it's more uplifting than any Inspirational Autism Movie you'd find in the bowels of the Hallmark Channel. In this episode: finding - and creating - a family, looking for love in all the wrong places, breaking into comedy as an autistic person, unlearning a whole heap of societal nonsense, and the shock of improving at things if you keep doing them. Oh, and Sara insisting she's ancient again. If you love live comedy, but hate going outside, Coherent Comedy run monthly comedy nights over Zoom featuring some of the freshest and funniest talent around. S02 E03 - Past Jobs ft. Sarah Barnard
2026/01/29
This week, we have the absolute privilege of being joined by polar artist and Daily Tism social media manager Sarah Barnard to talk about our past jobs. We could tell you what to expect, but this is probably our wildest episode yet, mostly thanks to our wonderful guest host and her incredibly eclectic CV. Let's just say that this episode includes the question "What is the gestational period of a hamster?" and leave it at that. See you on the Bible Tennis courts! You can find Sarah Barnard's incredible polar art and support her work at www.barnardpolar.shop. She's also on Bluesky @sarahbpolar.bsky.social and Instagram @sarah.polar.art.If your tastes are considerably more lowbrow, you can watch Sarah A dancing her drama-grad heart out at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpmfLpjC19Y&list=RDYpmfLpjC19Y&start_radio=1 Can't get enough 'Tism? S02 E02 - Autism Nests
2026/01/22
This week, we go full Goblin Mode and talk about our Autism Nest essentials - what, and who, we employ to help us recharge when life gets too much. How are two neurodivergent women supposed to stay on topic when there are Barbie eulogies, imaginary cabins and sloth bar mitzvahs to discuss? And are we at risk of becoming the Tyra Banks Hot Ice Cream podcast? Join us as we paint a thoroughly concerning portrait of the artists at home and allow Jason Momoa's ironclad teeth to take up far too much airtime. Can't get enough 'Tism? S02 E01 - School Reports, ft. Laura Richmond
2026/01/15
We're baaaack! Did you miss us? (Let's face it, if you're neurodivergent, you probably forgot that we existed.)  We're kicking off our second series with Laura Richmond, Daily Tism writer and author of All My Worldly Joy, with a special auditory show-and-tell in the form of our old school reports. Whether you were a 'gifted and talented' kid who made an attachment figure out of their English teacher, a chatty young contrarian who preferred the company of her imaginary ghost, or a prodigious yet deeply unpopular budding playwright, pull up a chair at our breakfast club for late-diagnosed burnouts. And, for God's sake, finish your wooden egg. As well as being one of our wonderful writers, Laura Richmond is a researcher, campaigner, and consultant who works to improve mental health care, especially for parents and families. Her recently-released memoir, All My Worldly Joy, is a compelling account of trauma, motherhood and mental health, told with Laura's characteristic honesty and humour. All My Worldly Joy is now available wherever you get your books.  And if you loved listening to her as much as we loved talking to her, Laura will be joining us for a Patreon Live event on Sunday 15th February 2026 at 6pm UK time for a Q&A about All My Worldly Joy! See you all there - and in the meantime don’t forget to rate this show, leave us a nice review and tell all your friends about us!  Can't get enough 'Tism? S01 Bonus Episode - Autistic Superpowers, ft. Holly Smale
2025/08/16
Welcome to another bodacious bonus episode of Autistic Women Oversharing! This week, we were joined by a very special guest in the form of Holly Smale - bestselling author, co-creator of the hit Netflix show Geek Girl and autistic superhero - to talk about our autistic superpowers.   The Cold [Bean] War is upon us yet again. Before we do battle with coughing husbands, disobedient planes, and the forces of gravity, we must assemble our autistic Avengers, a veritable Autistic-Sense-of-Justice League, to beat back the bad guys with the powers of cat-sniffing, dog-whispering, and hand-delivered post-breakup reports. So join us for the thrilling adventures of 'Death-Girl', 'Crying Woman' and 'The Human Shazam' - same Autism-Time (now), same Autism-Channel (Patreon)!   We often wish we had the power to see the future (at least so we could run a great racket on the Lotto numbers) - that's the mindbending reality faced by Margot Wayward, the protagonist of Holly's brand-new adult novel, 'I Know How This Ends'. A story about love in all its forms, and the courage it takes to hold onto it - available now at all good booksellers in the UK and internationally. Can't get enough 'Tism? S01 E09 - Oversharing
2025/06/24
Buckle up, terrible autistics, it’s the season finale! Sara, Elsa and Sarah put on their Very Special Episode hats and ruminate on the concept of oversharing: what it feels like to spill our guts, staying well fed during an accidental orgy and what to do if your hemorrhoid becomes sentient (stay calm and open Snapchat).  We’ll see you next season for even more oversharing. Until then, look after yourselves and each other, support our Patreon (patreon.com/thedailytism) for bonus content, including an upcoming bonus episode where we take an ADHD test (gulp) and uh… k love you, byeeee! S01 E08 - Not All Autistics
2025/06/17
Elsa's not here today! Left to improvise a co-host out of an octopus costume and a Cockney accent, Sara and Sarah get thoroughly weird about all the things they thought their autism would explain - but just turned out to be horrifying personal quirks. Learn how to lose friends and alienate people with tales of magical racist elves, cold baked beans and itchy teeth, and solve the locked room mystery of Andrew Hickey's eggy trousers. We'll be recording a live bonus episode of the podcast this Sunday the 22nd of June at 6PM BST! Am I doing this right?
If you are autistic the answer is probably “No” and, yes, I speak from experience. At least I can listen to these lovely people and know I’m not alone...
