Description

Czech Your Day is a daily podcast that helps foreigners really understand and learn Czech through weekly topics. Each episode of the week gets you one step closer to understanding Friday's episode - the story. Renča shows not only the "textbook version" of Czech, but also the "real-life Czech" (that means the way Czech people speak at home or with their friends). Yes, that's exactly what foreigners struggle with - being able to have a normal conversation with your Czech friends and colleagues. Renča also shares her tips and tricks that will help you on your learning journey. Keep listening and you will realize that your Czech is definitely getting better 😉  You can find transcripts/handouts from each episode on Renča's website CZECH-ME.COM.

You’re Sick in Czechia. What Do You Say?
2026/10/02
Send Renča a text 😉 You’re in Czechia. You’re not feeling well. And now you need to explain what’s wrong — in Czech. Would you know what to say? In today’s episode, we’re going to the doctor. You’ll hear a realistic dialogue first slowly and then at a more natural speed, so you can not only understand the Czech, but start getting ready to actually use it. Because knowing the words is one thing. Being able to say them when you’re sitting in front of a Czech doctor is something completely different. 😉 👉You can download the free handout + English translation at czech-me.com. And don’t just listen once and move on. Come back to the dialogue. Work with it. Change the situation. Imagine it’s you. Want to go further? Inside the Czech Your Day Community, we don’t stop at understanding. You can keep working with this topic through stories, listening, speaking activation and real-life situations — so the Czech you understand starts becoming Czech you can actually use. 👉 Find out more about the Czech Your Day Community at czech-me.com/community/ You don’t need hours of Czech. Just 15 minutes. But make those 15 minutes count. Renča 🤗
The A2 Exam Is Over. Your Czech Isn’t.
2026/09/25
Send Renča a text 😉 You passed A2. Now give your Czech somewhere to live. You worked hard, you prepared, you practised — and then finally, the pressure was gone. But what happens to your Czech after that? There’s a part of the post-exam experience we don’t talk about nearly enough. It doesn’t happen overnight. You may not even notice it at first. And no — the answer isn’t another textbook or spending the rest of your life studying Czech. So what comes next? This episode is very close to my heart because passing A2 shouldn’t be the moment Czech slowly disappears from your life. It can be the beginning of something completely different. Maybe the real question after A2 isn’t: “What should I study next?” Maybe it’s something completely different. Inside Czech Your Day Community, learners don’t stop using Czech when the exam is over. Mir, for example, has already passed his exam (his story here) — and he keeps coming back, speaking, practising and making Czech part of his life. Want to give your Czech somewhere to live after A2? Bydlení: Where Do Czechs Actually Live?
2026/09/18
Send Renča a text 😉 You learnt dům. You learnt byt. So why does Czech suddenly sound completely different when people start talking about where they live? In this episode of How Czechs Really Say It, we’ll step away from textbook Czech and listen to the words and forms you’re much more likely to hear in real conversations. Some will probably sound familiar. Some might make you think: Wait… what did they just say? And if you’re preparing for your A2 exam, there’s one important difference you’ll want to notice too. 🎧 Listen first. Don’t try to catch everything. Then listen again and see what suddenly becomes clearer. Want to experience Czech like this regularly? Inside Czech Your Day, we don’t just collect vocabulary and grammar. We meet Czech in stories and real-life situations, come back to it, reactivate it — and most importantly, use it. Don’t study Czech. Experience it. At least 15 minutes every day. Renee’s Diary | A2 Journey – Part 5: What Can Change in 6 Weeks?
2026/09/11
Send Renča a text 😉 Renee had spent 10 months taking individual 90-minute Czech lessons with one goal: to prepare for her A2 exam. But as the exam was getting closer, she realised she wasn’t ready. That’s when she contacted me. And we had just six weeks. When we started working together, it became clear that we weren’t simply filling a few gaps or doing final exam practice. There were important foundations missing, and in many ways, we had to start from the beginning. Now those six weeks are over. And Renee has taken the exam. So… what happened? In Part 5 of Renee’s Diary | A2 Journey, we sit down after the exam and talk about what happened on exam day — but also about something much bigger. What can really change in six weeks? What surprised Renee about the way she had been learning Czech before? What does she think about her Czech now? And after 10 months of individual lessons followed by six very different weeks… what did this experience teach her about learning a language? This isn’t just a story about passing or failing an exam. It’s a story about what progress can actually look like. Listen to Renee tell it in her own words. Want to experience Czech differently? Renee spent these six weeks working with Czech inside the Czech Your Day Community and through our intensive A2 preparation. If you’ve been learning Czech for months — maybe even years — but still feel that what you study isn’t becoming Czech you can actually use, you can explore the Community and discover a different way of experiencing the language. You Ordered SMAŽENÝ SÝR…Then the Waiter Asked THIS 🇨🇿| Real-Life Czech
2026/09/04
Send Renča a text 😉 You know what you want. You’ve practised the sentence. You finally say it in Czech. “Dám si smažený sýr.” Success. 🇨🇿 The waiter understands you. And then… the conversation continues. 😅 In this episode of Czech Your Day, you’ll experience a real restaurant situation that can easily catch Czech learners off guard — even when they know exactly how to order their meal. You’ll listen to a dialogue, discover what you might hear in a Czech restaurant, and most importantly, practise responding aloud yourself. Because understanding Czech is one thing. Being ready when someone actually speaks to you is another. 🎧 Free handout + English translation: https://czech-me.com/czech-at-a-restaurant-ordering-fried-cheese/ Want to go beyond listening and turn Czech into something you can actually use? Renee’s Diary | A2 Journey — I Had to Start Showing Up for Myself (PART 4)
2026/08/28
Send Renča a text 😉 The past few weeks of Renee’s A2 journey have felt like a rollercoaster. There has been progress — but also a difficult moment that neither of us expected to become part of this episode. So what happened? And what did Renee decide to do next? In Part 4 of Renee’s Diary, we talk honestly about what learning Czech can look like behind the scenes — especially when life gets busy, the exam is getting closer and progress doesn’t feel as straightforward as you hoped. In this episode, you’ll discover: what has changed since our last conversationwhich real-life situations Renee can now handle in Czechhow she currently feels about her approaching A2 examwhat happened during one particularly difficult momentwhat this experience taught both of us about continuing a learning journeyThis is not a polished success story. It is a real conversation about progress, doubt and what happens when learning stops feeling easy. 34°C… and We Went Sledding?! ❄️ | A2 Czech Story
2026/08/21
Send Renča a text 😉 It was August. It was 34°C. A perfect hot summer day in the Czech Republic. So how did I end up riding on SNOW? ❄️😄 In today's A2 Czech Story, I'm taking you with me on a little trip to the Krkonoše mountains. What can you practise with this story?  verbs of movement in context  the Czech past tense  useful vocabulary for trips and the mountains  everyday phrases and useful word combinations  following a Czech story without understanding every word You'll also hear a few words that may be above A2. That's intentional. They make the story sound more natural — and the story is carefully built to give you enough context to guess what they mean and keep following what is happening. Your challenge? Don't try to translate every word. Listen, follow the story and notice how much you can understand from the context. And don't stop at listening. At the end, I'll ask you a few questions. Try to answer them in Czech. Even one simple sentence counts. Listen. Understand. Produce. Don't study Czech. Experience it.  👉 You can find the Czech transcript + English translation here: Snow in August?! – Czech transcript & English translation Would you like more support with your Czech? Inside the Czech Your Day Community, we take stories like this one further — with extra practice, visual materials and activities that help you move from understanding Czech to actually using it. Just 15 minutes. Come back tomorrow. Keep building your Czech.
Renee’s Diary | A2 Journey — I Want to Speak Czech (PART 3)
2026/08/14
Send Renča a text 😉 Renee’s Czech journey continues — and this time, we talk about something many language learners struggle with: time. What happens when life gets busy and you simply don't have as much time for Czech as you would like? How does it affect your lessons? Your confidence? Your progress? In Part 3 of Renée’s diary, we talk honestly about the challenges of fitting Czech into everyday life, what happens when there isn't enough time to prepare, and why the way you use your learning time matters. And, as always, there are a few unexpected moments and small wins along the way. 😊 Renee is preparing for her A2 exam, but this journey is about much more than an exam. It's about finding a way to make Czech part of real life — even when life doesn't go according to plan. Listen to Part 3 and follow Renee’s journey. 👉 Want to make Czech part of your day too? Join the Czech Your Day community and start with just 15 minutes.
Renee's Diary | A2 Journey: One Week Later (Part 2)
2026/08/07
Send Renča a text 😉 One more week. One more conversation. And a transformation neither of us expected so soon. In this episode, Renee shares what happened after just one more week of learning Czech with me through our 15-minute individual lessons, combined with her daily practice using all the materials inside the Czech Your Day Community. We talk about confidence, pronunciation, everyday Czech, and the mindset shift that completely changed the way she learns. What surprised her the most? It wasn't learning more words. It was finally feeling ready to use Czech in real life. If you're learning Czech and sometimes feel overwhelmed or anxious, this episode might change the way you think about learning.
