Why do young people so often lean progressive, while conservatism struggles to inspire the next generation? In this episode of CounterCulture, the panel asks why progressivism is so attractive to young people, and whether breaking from tradition always leads somewhere better. Family Matters - Nick and Sarah Field on Good Stuff for Parents and Families
2026/09/30
In this episode of Family Matters, Simon sits down with Nick and Sarah Field, the Kiwi couple behind 'Good Stuff Parenting' ( @GoodStuffParenting ) - a biblically-grounded parenting resource designed to help parents raise their children toward maturity with a clear, simple, and practical pathway. After 34 years of parenting and 25 years as pastors, Nick and Sarah saw a gap: plenty of parenting advice out there, but nothing that was both simple and firmly rooted in Scripture. So they built it themselves. In this week's podcast, they cover: - What Good Stuff Parenting is and how it works - Why the Bible is the ultimate parenting guide — and where to find it - The four-relationship framework: love and respect for God, self, others, and creation - Age-specific modules from newborn through teenager (and how you can jump in at any stage) - The power of learning and parenting in community - Real stories from parents who've gone through the program - Quick, practical parenting tips you can try today **🔗 Learn more & access free modules:** go to www.goodstuff.org.nz **⏱ Chapters:** - 0:00 – Welcome & introductions - 1:00 – What is Good Stuff Parenting? - 3:18 – Why a biblical foundation for parenting? - 6:18 – Love & respect: the four-relationship framework - 8:30 – Age-based modules & the "Architecture" on-ramp - 10:24 – Practical stories: what parents are learning - 13:00 – Learning in community & group facilitation - 16:48 – The catalyst: why Nick & Sarah started it all - 21:14 – Quick parenting tips from Nick & Sarah - 26:00 – Where to find Good Stuff Parenting --- #familymatters #familyfirstnz
Political Playback SPECIAL - Should Social Conservatives Vote 'Strategically'?
2026/09/29
Should Social Conservatives Vote 'Strategically'? Bob McCoskrie and Simon O'Connor discuss the growing calls for conservative voters to vote 'strategically' at the upcoming General Election. In their detailed analysis, they look at the electoral system, how the strategic voting would work, what effect could it have, and who is supporting the call and who is opposing it - and why. It's a fascinating discussion that will help you understand what it's all about.

Daybreak - 30 September 2026
2026/09/29
In this episode of Daybreak – online abuse at MPs, including men; latest political polls; a grilling, investigative and tough interview of Chloe on 1Breakfast – oh, wait; just how bad will Labour’s numbers get; how good will Green’s numbers get; more discussion around strategic voting; are interns now off the table for organisations; Ireland’s virtue signalling against Israel; finger nails may be a sign of white supremacy; more disturbing cases of euthanasia in Canada; why the UN is irrelevant; and do you believe in miracles?

Solid Ground - 29 September 2026
2026/09/28
On this episode of Solid Ground, Simon starts with a nice story coming out of a school in Tauranga and a court case in the United States, where an aborted baby has won compensation for wrongful death. He then turns to an array of misleading headlines in both New Zealand and overseas media, encouraging viewers to read the full articles and not be fooled by the headlines alone. He then discusses the most absurd claim of late, with the BBC claiming that woman not painting their nails as an act of white supremacy. The show ends with a brief discussion of alleged terrorist attack on RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom.
McBlog: Body Fascism, Anti Fatness & Racial Control. Wait, what?
2026/09/27
An activist at a recent Socialism 2026 conference in Chicago slammed the "diet industry" for policing "Black fat flesh," characterising modern health standards & weight management as forms of "body fascism” - drawing on "eugenic, anti-Black, anti-fat, ableist, racist, productivist traditions..." Where's my paper bag and tin-foil hat?
Bilton Truth: Run Hide Fight Infidels (Review)
2026/09/25
*Warning: This review is not suitable for children and contains an account of real-life sexual violence.*
Samuel watched Daily Wire’s new movie Run Hide Fight: Infidels — and he has some mixed feelings. The film depicts an ISIS terrorist attack on an American university campus and isn’t afraid to tackle topics Hollywood normally avoids. But does its mix of brutal violence, dark humour and political satire actually work?
Samuel gave the film 2.5 freedom eagles out of 5
More importantly, he digs into the real-world issues the movie raises around Islamic extremism, ISIS, Hamas, Sharia law and the west’s response. He also looks at the horrific experiences of Yazidi women and the UK grooming-gang scandal.
Finally, what should the Christian response be to radical Islam?
McBlog: Government Bans Parents’ Voices On RSE
2026/09/23
The newly released RSE curriculum has had some significant & welcome improvements - but there has been a disturbing change. The Ministry of Education has previously told schools and boards of trustees that they must find out the wishes of the school community in terms of how sex education should be implemented, "given the views, beliefs, and customs of the members of that community". Well – no more. The Government doesn’t want your input or to consult with you anymore. They’re just going to tell you what they’re going to do. They're also not required to provide detailed lesson plans or every classroom resource that will support this teaching and learning. Why the secrecy?
Family Matters - Dr Aaron Edwards and Responding to a Church Going Over the Cliff
2026/09/22
On this episode of Family Matters, Simon interviews UK theologian and former Cliff College lecturer Dr. Aaron Edwards, a husband and father of seven, about being suspended and fired after a February 2023 tweet pointing out the church was losing its way around matters of sexuality.
You read this right – a Christian theologian was sacked from a Christian college because he drew attention to what Gospel says.
McBlog: Green's Health Policy - Phobias, Birth 'Parents' & Puberty Blockers
2026/09/21
The Green Party have released their health policy. It’s quite the jumble of themes, phobias & woke terms. To be fair, there’s a couple of good things – but it’s predominantly pro abortion, transing and euthanasia. And a (whacky) claim that females only give birth to “most” babies.
Daybreak - 21 September 2026
2026/09/20
In this episode of Daybreak – support for holding a referendum on MMP; 50% of teens say they got smartphone too young; which political party wants to spend the most to bribe you; why is Foodstuffs being targeted; Hipkins still enjoys protection from some of the media; Greens continue to display their hypocrisy with their personal attacks; National’s cringey social media post; has Labour gone pink; the myth of minor parties’ bottom lines; violence in schools on the rise – as we predicted; poll says that too little is spent on health; media continue to panic over the faaaaaar right; Tehran’s use of sexual violence – ignored by the UN; Ed Sheeran performs; CNN and Obama’s fake news weekend; and Albanese isn’t having a good time.
Bilton Truth - Are New Zealand Universities Racist?
2026/09/18
Are New Zealand Universities Racist? Duncan Garner recently revealed startling figures suggesting Māori applicants are being offered places at Otago Medical School at a dramatically higher rate than applicants in the general category. In this episode, Samuel reacts to Duncan’s investigation and examines the evidence used to justify race-based medical admissions. Do Māori patients actually receive better care from Māori doctors? What does the New Zealand research show? And should ethnicity determine who is offered a place at medical school? Supporters call these policies equity. Critics call them racial discrimination. It’s time to examine the evidence and ask whether our universities have abandoned equality in favour of intersectional identity politics. Here's the latest episode of Bilton Truth with Samuel Bilton.
Daybreak - 18 September 2026
2026/09/17
In this episode of Daybreak - beware of the reporting of polls and the pushing of preferred (& misleading) narratives by the media; standards of behaviour in Parliament reach a new low - if possible; Sydney Sweeney draws out the cultural hypocrites; the media continue to try and ignore the plummeting of Labour's polling; National release a left wing policy that even its own MPs seem to rightly disagree with; after politicising the education curriculum, Labour now says it wants to depoliticise it; should NZ join the EU in the name of TDS; 20 years on from Al Gore's climate alarmism - and we're still here; Ed Sheeran is right to stick to entertaining, not politicising; Archbishop of Canterbury revokes award for Islamic cleric who praised 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden - why did they give it in the first place; website which helps you identify your preferred party has a major flaw; and beware of the woke "sparkle creed".
