Episode 65: Wake Up, Take Responsibility, and Let Your Blaze Burn
2026/10/19
It’s easy to spend years feeling stuck, blaming our circumstances, or waiting for something outside of us to change. But at some point, we have to ask ourselves: Am I living consciously, or am I simply repeating the same patterns?   In this episode, I’m wrapping up Season 1 of Be a Blaze with a message that has been at the heart of so many of our conversations: wake up, take responsibility, and let your blaze burn.   We can become so disconnected from ourselves that we look for comfort in food, social media, relationships, or other external things. Sometimes we blame other people for where we are, and sometimes we turn that blame inward and beat ourselves up. Neither one helps us move toward healing.   Living consciously means becoming aware of our patterns, getting curious instead of judgmental, and taking responsibility for the choices we can make today. It’s not about controlling everything or blaming yourself for what happened in the past. It’s about choosing to live from a place of wholeness, kindness, and connection.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: What it means to live consciously instead of unconsciously How blaming others and blaming yourself can both keep you stuck Why awareness, curiosity, and responsibility are essential to personal growth How to recognize patterns of negative thinking and begin shifting them Why healthy boundaries help you protect your energy and emotional well-being How the Power of Pause can help you make more intentional choices Why your blaze is uniquely yours—and doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s   As we close Season 1, I want to remind you that there is a fire inside you worth discovering. You don’t have to become someone else or follow somebody else’s path. Start living consciously, take responsibility for your choices, love yourself and others well, and give yourself permission to let your blaze burn.   Thank you for listening, sharing, and being part of this journey. Go back and revisit the episodes that have spoken to you, and keep practicing what it means to live fully awake.   Ready to Think Differently About Your Health?   Please check out the new and improved TDAHYou.com, download the free 7-Day Guide, and explore what TDAH! has to offer.   Interested in sharing TDAH! with others? Episode 64: The Power of Disappointment – Healing the Fear That Keeps You Stuck
2026/10/12
Hey friends — it’s Polly Let’s get real for a minute: have you ever been so disappointed that it felt like your whole body just shut down? Whether it’s a dream that didn’t work out, a relationship that fell apart, or a diagnosis that knocked you off your feet — disappointment has a way of sneaking into every part of your body, your thoughts, and your hope.   In this episode, we talk about the power of disappointment — how it shapes your beliefs, affects your nervous system, and keeps you stuck in fear and protection mode instead of healing. I share a personal story about facing a huge disappointment in my own health journey, how it almost broke me, and how I found freedom by naming it, grieving it, and choosing hope again.   You’ll learn how unprocessed disappointment turns into emotional and physical resistance, why you might be addicted to disappointment (yep, that’s a thing!), and how the dopamine cycle can trick your brain into repeating painful patterns. We’ll dig into how to heal the fear that keeps you stuck, overcome self-sabotage, and reprogram your mind for healing and resilience.   Together, we’ll explore powerful tools to reconnect with your body, break old belief loops, and move from fear to freedom. Because disappointment isn’t a dead end — it’s a doorway to deeper healing and a more grounded, hopeful you. 🌿   Ready to think differently about your health?   Please check out the new and improved TDAHYou.com, download the free 7-Day Guide, and discover what TDAH! can offer you.   Interested in sharing TDAH! with others? Episode 63: Say No to Say Yes: Self-Boundaries For Your Health
2026/09/28
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can say is simply no.   In this episode, I’m talking about self-boundaries and what happens when we start making choices that actually support the life and health we say we want. Because setting boundaries isn’t just about saying no to other people—it’s also about learning when to say no to old habits, patterns, cravings, and choices that keep us stuck.   I’m challenging the idea that getting healthy has to mean more restriction, more discipline, or another diet we have to “stick to.” Instead, I want us to look at the mindset behind our choices and start asking a different question: What am I saying yes to when I say no?   In this episode, you’ll explore: What might be underneath the choices you keep making—even when you know they aren’t serving you How setting boundaries with yourself can change the way you approach food, health, and everyday habits Why learning to say no can actually create more freedom, consistency, and self-trust How to stop dieting and begin developing a healthier mindset around your body and your choices What it looks like to make decisions from self-respect instead of shame or punishment   Your health journey isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about learning to care for the person you already are.   If this episode resonates with you, follow Be a Blaze and leave me a review. Episode 62: The Innate Wisdom of Healing: A Conversation with Dr. Ben Rall
2026/09/21
Sometimes healing begins when we stop being afraid of our own bodies.   In this episode, I’m joined by Dr. Ben Rall for a conversation about the body’s innate wisdom, the power of the mind-body connection, and what can happen when we start looking at health from a different perspective. We talk about fear, symptoms, healing, and why understanding what your body is communicating can change the way you approach your health journey.   Dr. Ben and I explore the importance of stepping away from fear-based thinking and becoming more curious about what’s happening within us. We also talk about natural healing, personal responsibility, and the role our thoughts and beliefs can play in how we experience our bodies.   This conversation is an invitation to slow down, listen differently, and remember that your body is constantly communicating with you.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: What might change when you begin listening to your body instead of fearing every symptom How fear can influence the way we experience our health and make decisions Why the mind-body connection deserves a bigger place in the conversation about healing What Dr. Ben means by the body’s innate capacity for healing How curiosity can help shift your relationship with your health Why taking responsibility for your health doesn’t have to mean blaming yourself   If you’re ready to approach your health with more curiosity, courage, and a willingness to think differently, I think this conversation will give you plenty to consider.   Listen in, reflect on what resonates, and if this episode speaks to you, follow the podcast and leave me a review. It helps more people find these conversations.   Dr. Ben Rall Bio: Dr. Ben Rall is a chiropractor, podcast host, author, and speaker who has spent more than 20+ years helping individuals, organizations, and communities rethink health and wellness. Episode 61: The Power of Regret: How to Stop Living in the Past and Create the Life You Want
2026/09/14
Regret has a way of keeping us emotionally tied to moments we can’t go back and change. We replay the decision, remember what we wish we had done differently, and sometimes carry the shame of it for years.   In this episode, Polly opens up about a personal regret she carried for decades and explores why regret can become so deeply rooted in our minds and bodies. Instead of using regret as another reason to criticize ourselves, she invites us to look at it with compassion, honor who we were at the time, and recognize that we made choices based on what we knew and believed then.   Polly walks you through a powerful process of identifying your regrets, acknowledging their consequences, grieving what needs to be grieved, practicing self-forgiveness, and surrendering the guilt and shame that keep you stuck in the past.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: How to let go of regret without shaming yourself Why regret can keep you emotionally and physically stuck in the past The connection between regret, old emotions, and familiar patterns How self-forgiveness can help you heal from choices you wish you could change Why honoring your past self is different from excusing your past choices How to release guilt and shame and create a new reality The importance of focusing on what you DO want instead of what you don’t want How intentional choices today can help you build a life you won’t regret tomorrow   You cannot change what happened—but you can change what happens next. Your past does not have to define the life you create today.   Ready to think differently about your health and healing? Episode 60: The GLP-1 Conversation No One Is Talking About
2026/09/07
Episode 60: The GLP-1 Conversation No One Is Talking About   Losing the weight can feel like the finish line—but what happens when you get there?   GLP-1 medications have completely changed the weight loss conversation, and many people are experiencing significant results. But there’s another part of the conversation that I believe deserves much more attention: what happens after the weight comes off?   In this episode, I’m not here to debate whether GLP-1 medications are good or bad. I want to talk about the weight loss mindset and the mental and emotional work that can determine whether you’re actually prepared to maintain your results. Because changing your body doesn't automatically change your identity, your habits, your relationship with food, or the patterns that contributed to your weight in the first place.   We’ll explore why focusing only on the physical side of weight loss can leave people afraid of regaining the weight, struggling with food noise, or wondering how to navigate their identity after a major transformation. I’ll also share from my own experience of losing and regaining weight and why I believe whole health requires us to address the mental and emotional pieces alongside the physical.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: Why losing weight and maintaining weight loss requires more than changing what you eat or how you exercise How your identity, emotions, habits, and relationship with food can change after significant weight loss Why fear of regaining the weight can actually keep you focused on the very thing you don't want How curiosity and consciousness can help you recognize old patterns before they take over Why the mental and emotional work may be the missing piece in your long-term health journey   Whether you're considering GLP-1 weight loss, currently using medication, or have lost weight through another approach, this conversation is an invitation to think beyond the number on the scale and start thinking about whole health.   If this episode resonates with you, follow Be A Blaze, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs to hear this part of the weight loss conversation.   Resources Mentioned Episode 28 – The Whole Grain Revolution: Embracing Health with Sue Becker: Listen to the conversation with Sue Becker on Be A Blaze with Polly Hamp. Episode 59: You Can Be Healed AND Still Have Hard Days: The Power of Living in the Both/Ands
2026/08/31
Episode 59: You Can Be Healed AND Still Have Hard Days: The Power of Living in the Both/Ands   Healing doesn’t mean life suddenly becomes easy—and honestly, I think that’s one of the biggest misconceptions we have about healing from trauma.   In this episode, I’m talking about what it really means to live in the both/ands: I can be healed AND still have hard days. I can feel grief AND experience hope. Something can be difficult AND I can still be okay. That shift has completely changed how I understand my own healing journey.   I share a powerful moment when I realized I could experience something connected to my past without being pulled back into an old trauma response. The memory didn’t disappear. The sadness didn’t disappear. But I was able to stay connected to myself and recognize that my present reality was different from my past. We also talk about trauma triggers, nervous system regulation, attachment styles, and why healing doesn’t mean you’ll never get triggered again. Real healing means developing the awareness and tools to recognize what’s happening, regulate your nervous system, and choose how you respond.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: How can you recognize the difference between a trauma trigger and what is actually happening in the present? What might change when you allow two seemingly opposite emotions or experiences to exist together? How can nervous system regulation help you move through difficult moments without getting pulled back into old patterns?   Healing isn’t perfection. It’s connection, awareness, flexibility, courage, and learning that you can come back to yourself. If this episode resonates with you, follow Be A Blaze, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs to hear that having a hard day doesn’t mean you’ve lost your healing.   Resources Mentioned Julie Menanno — The Secure Relationship: Instagram @thesecurerelationship SOS Movie Short: https://sosresponds.org/rabbithole/   Want to keep going? Episode 58: 30-Day “Yes” Challenge to Change Your Life
2026/08/24
Episode 58: 30-Day “Yes” Challenge to Change Your Life   Sometimes the biggest change starts with one tiny word: YES. In this episode, I’m challenging you to spend the next 30 days becoming more conscious of what you’re saying yes to—and what those choices are actually creating in your life.   This isn’t about saying yes to everything or ignoring healthy boundaries. It’s about shifting your mindset from “I can’t” and “I shouldn’t” toward “What can I choose that brings me closer to health, healing, and the life I want?”   I’ll walk you through how familiar habits, comfort, cravings, and unconscious patterns can keep us stuck—and how intentionally choosing something different can help you rewire your nervous system, change your thought processes, and create new habits.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: What could change when you become more aware of the “yeses” and “nos” shaping your everyday life? How might saying yes to yourself disrupt the comfortable patterns that keep you stuck? What could 30 days of conscious choices teach you about your health, mindset, and ability to change?   This is an experiment in awareness, discipline, and possibility. There’s no failure—only feedback. So, are you ready to say YES?   If this episode resonates with you, follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs a mindset shift.   Ready to think differently about your health? Episode 57: The Whole Grain Revolution: Embracing Health with Sue Becker
2026/08/17
Episode 57: The Whole Grain Revolution: Embracing Health with Sue Becker   In this episode, I’m sitting down with the one and only Sue Becker, and friends… this conversation might just change the way you think about food, health, and what nourishment really means. We’re talking whole grains, real bread, and how getting back to the way God designed food can be a powerful part of healing your body and your home.   Sue shares her personal journey into freshly milled, whole-grain living and why so many of us are struggling with energy, inflammation, and chronic health issues without realizing what’s missing. We unpack the mindset shift from convenience to intention, how food connects to faith-based stewardship of our bodies, and why small changes in the kitchen can lead to massive transformation for families—especially moms who are already carrying so much.   This episode is full of encouragement, practical wisdom, and hope. It’s not about perfection or pressure; it’s about empowerment, healing, and learning to trust your body again. Whether you’re curious about real food, looking to improve your health naturally, or simply craving a slower, more intentional rhythm at home, this conversation will meet you right where you are.   Want to keep going? Episode 56: Ignite Your Inner Blaze: Becoming Your Own Cheerleader
2026/08/10
Sometimes, you don’t need another strategy—you just need someone in your corner reminding you who you are.   In this episode, I’m giving you the encouragement I wish we all had on the days when we feel stuck, overwhelmed, exhausted, or like we’ve simply run out of steam. I want to help you stop beating yourself up and start looking at those difficult places as information instead of failure.   We’ll talk about how to stop feeling stuck by shifting from survival into connection, recognizing the beliefs that keep you small, and learning to become your own freaking cheerleader. I’ll also guide you through an intentional practice of slowing down, noticing your body, and reconnecting with the powerful, worthy, brilliant person you already are.   Because when you encourage yourself instead of constantly criticizing yourself, something begins to change. You can build nervous system regulation, practice nervous system healing, set healthier boundaries, communicate more clearly, and begin trusting yourself again.   In This Episode, You’ll Explore: What might be keeping you stuck even when you’re doing all the “right” things How your body and nervous system respond when you shift from survival to connection What could happen when you stop looking outside yourself for validation and start becoming your own greatest cheerleader   If you need a little encouragement today, save this episode and come back to it whenever your blaze feels like it’s getting low. Episode 55: Love, Not Hate: Healing Addiction Through Compassion
2026/08/03
Everywhere I look, I keep hearing the same advice: "You have to hate your addiction if you want to overcome it." And honestly? I couldn't disagree more.   In this episode, I'm challenging that idea because I believe you can't heal what you hate. Whether your struggle is with food, alcohol, work, shopping, pornography, or any other addiction, there's a deeper story beneath the behavior. Addiction isn't your identity—it's information. It's often your nervous system's attempt to find comfort, safety, or relief when it didn't know another way.   We explore why shame, judgment, and self-hatred only strengthen addictive cycles, while compassion creates space for real transformation. Instead of asking, "How do I hate this enough to quit?" I invite you to ask, "What positive need has this addiction been trying to meet?" That simple shift changes everything.   True healing begins when we stop fighting ourselves and start partnering with ourselves. It's not about becoming stronger through willpower—it's about becoming more connected, more conscious, and more compassionate.   In This Episode, You'll Discover: Why hating your addiction can actually make healing more difficult How addictions often reveal unmet emotional needs rather than personal failure Practical ways to replace shame with compassion and create lasting whole health   Whether you're navigating food addiction, emotional eating, alcohol, workaholism, or another unhealthy pattern, this conversation will help you think differently about recovery and rediscover hope.   If this episode encouraged you, please follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs to hear that healing begins with compassion—not condemnation.   Ready to stop fighting yourself and start healing from the inside out? Episode 54: Harnessing Self-Control: The Key to Real Change
2026/07/27
Halfway through the year is the perfect time to pause and ask yourself an honest question: Am I becoming the person I hoped I'd be when I set my goals in January?   Maybe your dream was to lose weight and keep it off, get healthier, strengthen your relationships, or finally break free from old habits. If some of those goals have been set aside, you're not alone. The good news is that lasting change isn't built on more willpower—it's built on something much deeper: self-control.   In this episode, I explain why willpower often leaves us feeling exhausted, discouraged, and stuck in the same cycle, while self-control becomes a natural outflow of living with intention, awareness, and connection. We explore how unconscious habits, emotional attachments, and dopamine-driven behaviors quietly sabotage our progress, and how planning ahead can help you make choices that align with the healthiest version of yourself.   Real transformation doesn't happen through punishment or perfection. It happens one conscious decision at a time.   In This Episode, You'll Discover: Why willpower alone isn't enough to create lasting change How self-control helps you break unhealthy patterns and get healthy Practical ways to plan ahead so your choices support the life you truly want Why healing your mindset is just as important as changing your habits   Whether your goal is to lose weight and keep it off, improve your health, or simply become more intentional in your daily choices, this episode will encourage you to stop relying on force and start living from freedom.   If this episode encouraged you, please follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who's ready to make lasting changes in their life.   Visit the new and improved TDAHYou.com to discover resources, coaching, and practical tools that will help you think differently about health and become the healthiest version of yourself—mind, body, and spirit.   Connect with me:   📱 Instagram: @pollyahamp   📱 Facebook: Polly Hamp
Episode 53: Confident Living: Power, Purpose, Surrender
2026/07/20
What would your life look like if you truly trusted yourself?   In this episode, I'm unpacking one of the most misunderstood qualities we can develop—confidence. So many of us were taught that confidence is pride or arrogance, so we've spent years shrinking ourselves, doubting our gifts, and questioning our purpose. But real confidence isn't loud or boastful. It's quiet, grounded, and deeply connected to who you were created to be.   We explore how confidence grows through trust, curiosity, healing, and learning to live from your true identity instead of fear or other people's expectations. I also talk about the power of surrender—holding your dreams with open hands, trusting God with the outcome, and believing that what He has planned is often far greater than anything we could control ourselves.   If you've been playing small, questioning your worth, or waiting until you feel "ready," this conversation is your reminder that the power you're looking for has been inside you all along.   In This Episode, You'll Discover: How to recognize the difference between healthy confidence and pride Why confidence grows when you trust your identity instead of other people's opinions How surrendering the outcome can lead to greater peace, purpose, and joy Confidence isn't about proving yourself—it's about trusting the person you're becoming.   If this episode encouraged you, follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with someone who needs the reminder that they don't have to shrink to belong.   Ready to step into greater freedom, healing, and confidence? Episode 51: Under Your Skin: Healing from Excuses
2026/07/06
What if the biggest thing standing between you and the life you want… isn't your past, your circumstances, or even your trauma? What if it's the stories you've been telling yourself to stay comfortable?   In this episode, I'm lovingly getting under your skin because I want to expose the excuses, justifications, and unconscious patterns that quietly keep us stuck. I've lived them myself—from addiction and burnout to blaming my past and waiting for the "perfect time" to change. The truth is, healing begins the moment we stop defending our limitations and start becoming aware of them.   We talk about how excuses often hide behind phrases like "I'll start Monday," "Just this once," or "It's too hard right now." I also unpack how codependency, comparison, and blaming others can keep us trapped in unhealthy cycles without us even realizing it.   The good news? Awareness isn't meant to shame you—it's meant to free you. Once you can see your patterns, you finally have the power to choose something different.   In This Episode, You'll Discover: What excuses may be quietly keeping you stuck without you realizing it How codependency, comparison, and unconscious habits influence your daily choices Why awareness is the first step toward lasting healing and true freedom   If this conversation challenged you, don't ignore it—lean into it. Sometimes the discomfort is exactly where transformation begins.
