Miles McPherson: Why Most Christians Never Share Their Faith
2026/10/22
What if the greatest opportunity for evangelism isn’t reaching more people ourselves, but equipping more believers to share Jesus with the people around them?
On this episode of The Missional Leader, Rob Hoskins sits down with Pastor Miles McPherson, founder of Rock Church and Just 1, to explore how the Church can reclaim evangelism as a calling for every believer. Miles shares how a simple, 30–60-second testimony can help anyone share their faith with confidence, overcome the fear of difficult conversations, and trust the Holy Spirit to transform hearts. Discover how missional leaders can move beyond inviting people to hear the Gospel to equipping a generation to share it.
In This Episode:- Why evangelism belongs at the heart of discipleship- How a simple testimony can equip anyone to share their faith- Overcoming fear and trusting the Holy Spirit with the outcome- Mobilizing the next generation to reach their peers- How the Just 1 Challenge helps believers take the first step

N.T. Wright & Jesse Stone on Pentecostalism, Suffering, and Our Wrestle with Certainty
2026/10/08
What if Christian hope isn’t about escaping this world, but about seeing it made new?
In this inaugural episode of Season 3, Rob Hoskins sits down with renowned New Testament scholar Dr. N.T. Wright and theologian Dr. Jesse Stone at Oxford to explore what the Holy Spirit is doing in the space between the resurrection of Jesus and the renewal of all things. Together, they challenge an “escape to heaven” vision of Christianity and recover a bigger biblical story: God is not abandoning His creation. He is renewing it and forming His people to embody that future in the world today.
Drawing from Acts 2, Romans 8, 1 Corinthians 15, and Wright’s newest book God’s Homecoming, they explore what this vision means for Spirit-empowered mission, suffering, evangelism, the Church, and Christian leadership. If the Spirit is preparing us not simply to leave the world but to become people of new creation, how should that reshape the way we lead, serve, suffer, and bear witness today?
For missional leaders, the question is ultimately bigger than what we believe about the end times: What kind of people is the Spirit forming us to become - and what does our life together reveal about the future God has promised?

The Future of Mission Must Be Collaborative
2026/07/09
What if the future of global mission isn’t about going solo, but about radical collaboration? In this special episode of The Missional Leader, Rob unpacks the powerful story and personal conviction centered on “collaborative missiology” – a movement transforming how the Church approaches God’s mission in the 21st century.
Drawing from his experience growing up on the mission field and decades of leadership at OneHope, Rob traces the dramatic journey of missions: from the passionate Moravians and the resistance-defying William Carey to the profound turning points at Edinburgh 1910 and today’s explosive growth of the Church in the Global South. Discover how historic models, once shaped by Western influence, are giving way to global, indigenous leadership and “from everywhere to everywhere” mission.
You’ll hear unforgettable moments, including the convicting words of Samuel Azaria at Edinburgh that still echo today, and Rob’s own watershed realization that the Great Commission is simply too big for any one organization to carry alone. Learn why the Church’s greatest impact comes from cultivating networks of trust, generosity, and shared vision – and how innovations like the Bible App for Kids, massive Bible translation collaborations, and “plural-verse” missiology are reshaping the landscape.Whether you’re a leader, a pastor, or passionate about cross-cultural mission, this episode will challenge and invite you: Will you pursue God’s mission independently, or choose to step boldly into true partnership with God’s people around the world?

Drawing from two decades of hands-on youth ministry and a global leadership perspective, Dan brings unique insight into what some have called a “quiet revival”—where young people are flooding churches, asking hard questions, and picking up Bibles in record numbers.
Together, Rob and Dan explore the paradoxes of a generation that’s both radically open to faith and fiercely independent, eager for authenticity over performance, and demanding truth without easy answers. Hear how Alpha’s latest youth series is empowering teenagers themselves to lead spiritual conversations, fostering a movement where revival isn’t about hype, but about God moving outside our control.

What happens when seasoned leaders and rising voices sit down as peers, not just to teach but learn from each other? In this special “living room” edition of The Missional Leader, Rob is joined by two trailblazing friends and young leaders: Charlee Tchividjian, a passionate founder radically reshaping foster care prevention, and André Ito Gonçalves, a former Netflix executive turned global church planter and marketing leader. Andre unpacks “polycentric leadership” with Rob, a fluid multi-vocational approach to calling, and how mentorship across ages can unlock personal purpose and Kingdom impact. Rob reflects on the “ikigai” framework, and how leaders can discern their unique calling at the intersection of passion, skill, need, and sustainability in a rapidly-changing world.

Generative AI and the Future of the Church with Bobby Gruenewald
2026/02/19
Is AI a powerful tool for the Kingdom—or a ticking time bomb in the hands of the church? In this episode, Rob sits down with returning guest Bobby Gruenewald, founder and CEO of YouVersion, to tackle the hard questions surrounding generative AI at the intersection of faith and technology.
With over half of OneHope’s global reach now digital, and the rapid rise of generative AI making headlines worldwide, Rob and Bobby pull back the curtain on their own wrestling with the promises and pitfalls of this revolutionary technology. From initial enthusiasm to ethical hesitation, Bobby candidly shares how he’s navigating both hope and real-world concerns as he stewards the world’s most popular Bible app—and why this moment may be more transformational (or dangerous) than many imagine.

You’ll hear unfiltered stories from the front lines: the unexpected hazards uncovered when testing AI “Bible bots,” the non-negotiables for theological accuracy and safety, and why technology’s “messy middle” demands humility, not fear.

Leading with Truth and Courage in a Polarized World, with Ed Stetzer
2026/01/22
How can Christian leaders stay grounded in biblical truth while leading with courage and conviction in a polarized world?
In this episode of The Missional Leader, Rob Hoskins sits down with Dr. Ed Stetzer — president of Talbot School of Theology at Biola, leader of the Lausanne Movement in North America, and one of today’s most trusted missiologists and cultural voices. Together, they unpack what it means to lead fearlessly in an age of outrage: how to speak truth with grace, engage culture without compromise, and model a faith that is both courageous and kind.
From Ed’s roots as the son of a New York City construction worker to his decades of global leadership, this candid and humorous conversation offers practical insight for pastors, ministry leaders, and kingdom-minded influencers who want to stand firm for truth while leading while remaining compassionate.
