2026/11/05
What happens when the people who hurt you are the ones you’re called to forgive? In episode three of our “True Crime Series”, Terrence and Beka explore Joseph’s story—a family fractured by favoritism, jealousy that leads to betrayal, and an unexpected opportunity for forgiveness. From the pit to a position of power in Egypt, Joseph’s journey invites us to examine our own hearts, confront harmful family patterns, and remain faithful through painful circumstances. Together, we discuss how God can bring good from what others intended for harm—and what it looks like to choose forgiveness when revenge feels justified. Read Joseph’s story beginning in Genesis 37.

A powerful king. A loyal soldier. A cover-up that spirals into murder. In episode two of the Northeast Equipping Podcast’s True Crime season, Terrance and Becca explore the story of David and Uriah in 2 Samuel 11–12. What begins with David wanting what belongs to someone else becomes a devastating chain of deception, betrayal, and abuse of power. What does this story reveal about our own hearts? We also discuss how prayer, Scripture, wise counsel, and time with Jesus help us find contentment in the life God has given us. What are you chasing—and is it drawing you closer to Jesus? 📖 Read along: 2 Samuel 11–12 Subscribe for more conversations that equip you to follow Jesus in everyday life.
True Crime Series | Cain and Abel
2026/10/22
What happens when anger goes unchecked—and how can we respond before it takes control? In this episode of the Northeast Equipping Podcast, Terrence and Beka kick off a new season exploring true crime stories in the Bible. First up: Cain and Abel, a story of jealousy, ignored warnings, and the devastating consequences of unresolved anger. Through Genesis 4, we explore the difference between feeling angry and allowing anger to shape our lives. From everyday frustrations to a culture fueled by outrage, how can we let God transform our response? In this episode: • Three ways we respond to anger: following it, stuffing it, or making a change. • What Jesus teaches us about righteous anger and sacrificial love. • How to keep God’s heart at the center of our response to injustice. • Why discipleship, accountability, and sharing the gospel matter. • How God’s grace offers hope for anyone struggling with anger. 📖 Key Scriptures: Genesis 4 — Cain and Abel Romans 12:9 — Genuine love and holding tightly to what is good Colossians 3:8 — Putting away anger, rage, and harmful speech Take a next step: After listening, spend two minutes praying through Colossians 3:8. Ask God to reveal where anger is shaping your life and help you respond with love, humility, and obedience. Your past struggles with anger don’t have to define your future. Jesus is still changing you.

Controversial Christianity | Youth Sports
2026/06/25
Welcome back to Episode 3 of our Northeast Equipment Podcast as we continue our Controversial Christianity series with a powerful and honest conversation about youth sports and the growing pressure kids face in high-achievement environments. From favorite sports movies and a fun debate about what sport Jesus would play, to deeper reflections on identity, performance, and parenting, we dive into how sports culture has shifted and how quickly it can shape both our kids and our own hearts. If you’re a parent navigating travel teams, busy schedules, and rising expectations, this episode is for you; we talk about staying grounded in faith, keeping the important things first, and making sure our kids are being formed by Christ rather than competition. Because while there’s less than a 1% chance your kid goes pro, there’s a 100% chance they’ll stand before God one day; so let’s raise them with that in mind.
Controversial Christianity Attending a Megachurch
2026/06/18
In Episode 2 of Controversial Christianity, the team dives into a thoughtful conversation about life in a megachurch. Beka is joined by Tyler and Tomara as they unpack the realities behind the “megachurch” label. They discuss challenging stereotypes, sharing personal stories, and exploring what truly defines a healthy church. From the pull between consumer Christianity and genuine discipleship to the challenges of building authentic community in a large church, this episode offers both honest reflection and practical encouragement. Along the way, they highlight the church’s mission to “Love the Ville,” the importance of engagement beyond Sunday mornings, and the beauty, and complexity, of doing life together in the body of Christ.
Controversial Christianity Singleness
2026/06/11
The hosts (Becca and Terrance) and guest Tyler kick off Season 4 of the Northeast Equipping Podcast, themed around controversial Christianity. They dive into the week’s topic: singleness. Tyler explains the church chose this topic because they haven’t taught directly on singleness since 2016 and because the church has more singles and “single agains” than people realize. As he says, “We have more singles in our church than we would imagine…” Why Northeast Doesn’t Have a Singles Ministry Terrence shares from his past as a singles pastor that standalone singles ministries often: Turn into dating hubs, even unintentionally Create segmented rooms instead of integrating singles into the whole church Struggle with age ranges and complex pastoral needs Distract from the mission of raising up singles into leadership Instead, the church wants singles fully included in men’s, women’s, and small group ministries. Can Christians Remarry After Divorce? They discuss biblical grounds for divorce and remarriage. Tyler summarizes three legitimate reasons a marriage covenant may be broken: Adultery Abandonment Abuse He emphasizes repentance, grace, and honoring marriage as covenant, not convenience. How Should a Christian Date Today? They caution that dating apps can shape people in unhealthy ways—teaching them to commodify others and removing community accountability. Apps aren’t wrong, but Christians should date with boundaries, healing, and intentionality. As Terrance notes: “There are a lot of unhealed people running into relationships, hurting other people because they’re unhealed.”
