3 Is The Mad-Gic Number!!!!
2026/10/22
3 Is the Mad-Gic Number! We've actually won a football match! At home! And scored THREE goals! Graham, Mark and Thom are back in considerably better spirits after Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Coventry finally delivers that elusive first Premier League win of the season. And what a night it was. James Maddison marked his long-awaited return with a sensational goal, Marmoush found the net, and Ben Davies even got in on the act. But perhaps the biggest moment of all came when Dejan Kulusevski stepped onto the pitch to an incredible reception from the Spurs faithful. Mark and Graham were there to experience it, and both reckon this could be the night we look back on as the turning point in Tottenham's season. But was the performance actually that good? Despite the result, there are still plenty of questions. We discuss Roberto De Zerbi's unexpected team selections, the switch to three at the back, Tosin's impressive display and the continuing concerns over Van Hecke and Van de Ven defensively. There's also frustration with Kudus, some worrying injury developments and a debate over whether Spurs are finally getting fitter. Then there's Maddison. After so long on the sidelines, has he just reminded everyone exactly what this team has been missing? His goal was magnificent, but it was his confidence, composure and willingness to take responsibility that really caught the eye. Could his return transform De Zerbi's Tottenham? Attention then turns to Chelsea away, a fixture that rarely brings much joy for Spurs supporters. Mark and Thom are keeping their expectations in check, but Graham has other ideas. Surely one day we're going to win at Stamford Bridge?! ❓ Thom's Teaser celebrates Kulusevski's return with a special auction-themed quiz. Graham and Mark go head-to-head bidding on Deki's Spurs statistics, although understanding the rules proves almost as challenging as knowing the answers! And finally, something we haven't been able to do for quite some time: enjoy being Tottenham supporters. We're off the bottom, the players are smiling, the football is improving and even Paddy Power have found somebody else to laugh at. Is this finally the start of something good? Come On You Spurs! Spurs Head-Butt-Ing in the Right Direction
2026/10/14
Spurs Head-Butt-Ing in the Right Direction! A point at Old Trafford, a last-gasp equaliser, a headbutt and ten men. Just another perfectly normal afternoon supporting Tottenham Hotspur! Graham, Mark and Thom are back to dissect Spurs' 1-1 draw with Manchester United — a performance that might just be the clearest sign yet that Roberto De Zerbi is starting to turn things around. But was it a brilliant point earned against the odds, or another two points dropped against a very ordinary Manchester United side? There's certainly no shortage of disagreement! Dominic Solanke rescued a point with a late header, but Mark isn't buying the hero narrative. After two glaring misses and another frustrating performance, is Solanke really good enough to lead the line for Spurs? Graham and Thom aren't quite so convinced by Mark's criticism — particularly his suggestion that Solanke knew absolutely nothing about the goal! And Solanke isn't the only player in the firing line. Savinho and Kudus come under scrutiny for their lack of end product, despite Spurs creating some excellent attacking opportunities. Are individual players now letting down a system that is beginning to work? We also discuss Bentancur's extraordinary red card, Van Hecke's defensive mistakes, the impressive performances of Tonali, Udogie and Senesi, and the continuing mystery of why Fernandes can't get a regular place in the starting eleven. With Maddison returning, other injured players edging closer to fitness and De Zerbi's style finally becoming recognisable, are Spurs genuinely turning a corner? Thom has certainly changed his tune. After months of pessimism, he's suddenly looking forward to watching Tottenham again! Attention then turns to Coventry at home, with all three hosts predicting a Spurs victory. Surely this is finally the week we get that elusive first league win? ❓ Thom's Teaser takes inspiration from Bentancur's Glasgow kiss with a red-card-themed Spurs quiz. Can Mark finally get the better of Graham and close the gap in the standings? The football is improving. The chances are coming. The optimism is returning. Now can somebody please put the ball in the net?! Come On You Spurs! COYS
An International Break......From Spurs!!
2026/10/07
After three weeks without Tottenham ruining our weekends, The Crowing Cockerel Podcast is back — and surely the season starts now... right? Graham, Mark and Thom look back at an eventful international break for Spurs, including goals for Marmoush and Tel, captaincy duties for Bentancur and Archie Gray, the latest injury concern over Van Hecke, and former Spurs striker Troy Parrott continuing to find the net. Parrott's form leads us into a bigger debate about Tottenham's youngsters. Do Spurs give their academy players enough opportunities? We discuss Parrott, Will Lankshear, Luca Williams-Barnett, Mikey Moore and Vušković — and whether supporters are sometimes too quick to assume we've made a mistake when a young player succeeds elsewhere. There's also the small matter of Manchester City. We discuss the verdict, what punishment should follow and whether any of it actually matters to Spurs — although Thom spots one potential advantage if a relegation battle really is on the cards! Then attention turns to Manchester United away. With De Zerbi having had three weeks to work with the squad, injured players returning and Spurs showing some signs of improvement before the break, can Tottenham finally get their season going at Old Trafford? And ❓ Thom's Teaser returns with a Jermain Defoe-themed higher-or-lower battle — with Mark looking to haul himself level with Graham in the season standings. Pre-season is over. Again. Come On You Spurs! COYS
Spurs Hit Rock Bottom....The Only Way Is Up!
2026/09/22
Spurs are bottom of the Premier League. It really can’t get much worse… can it? Graham, Mark and Thom are back to pick through another painful week for Tottenham after defeats to Liverpool and Aston Villa leave Spurs rock bottom heading into the international break. And yet, somehow, there were positives. The first half against Villa was arguably Spurs’ best 45 minutes in a long time, with De Zerbi’s side pressing aggressively and creating chances — before another individual error changed everything. So are there genuinely signs of progress underneath the disastrous results? We discuss the continued lack of goals, Solanke’s struggles in front of goal, whether Spurs have enough natural finishers in the squad and why nobody seems willing to just have a shot. We also look at the worrying drop-off in energy levels and ask why, this far into the season, the players still don’t appear match fit. There’s plenty of debate about Roberto De Zerbi too. Are the players buying into his system? Is his public criticism helping or hurting their confidence? And with Spurs repeatedly collapsing after conceding first, can he change the mentality of a team that seems to have forgotten how to win? We also ask whether the fans are becoming part of the problem. After another chorus of boos at half-time, how much patience can supporters realistically be expected to show after two years of miserable home form? There is, however, a glimmer of hope. Thom has been digging through the history books to find out what happens to teams that are bottom at the end of September — and discovers that Spurs have actually been here before. ❓ Thom’s Teaser lightens the mood with a battle to find obscure Spurs goalscorers — and produces a potentially historic moment in the Crowing Cockerel Predictions League. With three weeks until Tottenham play again, perhaps this really is the end of pre-season. We’re bottom. We’re battered. But the only way is up. Come On You Spurs! COYS
Do Spurs Need More After Game Four Bore Draw??
2026/09/15
Four games into the season, Spurs are still waiting for their first goal — but is it really time to panic? Graham, Mark and Thom are back to dissect Tottenham's 0-0 draw with Everton and the very different ways we're all feeling about the start to life under Roberto De Zerbi. There are positives. Two clean sheets in a row, a defence that looks increasingly solid and signs that the midfield and overall structure are improving. But there's one rather obvious problem: Spurs still can't score. We discuss whether the new-look attack simply needs time to click, the struggles of Savinho, Marmoush and Tel, and whether Tottenham actually signed the natural goalscorer this squad desperately needed. There's also a big debate about De Zerbi. Is he right to publicly demand more from his players, or could his very visible coaching and criticism actually be damaging the confidence of an attack already struggling to make decisions in the final third? Then we get into the increasingly strange Richarlison situation. After moves to Everton, Turkey and Brazil all failed to materialise, last season's top scorer is still at Spurs — but isn't in the Premier League squad and seemingly isn't in De Zerbi's plans. Has the whole situation been badly handled? ❓ Thom's Teaser takes us back to Spurs' previous 0-0 home draw in 2017, as Mark and Graham attempt to reconstruct the starting XI against Swansea — with the contest going right down to the wire. 🔮 We also look ahead to a huge Carabao Cup tie at Liverpool, question De Zerbi's plans to rotate at Anfield, and make our predictions for Aston Villa before asking the big question: are there genuine reasons to believe things are about to improve, or are Spurs fans already running out of patience? Come on you Spurs! COYS
Can De Zerbi Unlock Spurs Goals?
2026/09/09
Spurs finally have their first point of the season — but we're still waiting for that first goal. Graham, Mark and Thom are back to pick through Tottenham's draw with Nottingham Forest and ask whether we're beginning to see signs of Roberto De Zerbi's new-look Spurs taking shape. Despite 12 shots and none on target, there were positives. We discuss an improved defence, the Van de Ven–Van Hecke partnership, a stronger midfield and whether the attacking problems are simply going to need time to resolve. There's also plenty on De Zerbi's approach to managing player fitness. Are Spurs being sensible after two injury-hit seasons, or has the club gone too far in the other direction? And what do we make of De Zerbi publicly discussing the decisions behind taking Savio and Udogie off? We ask the big attacking question: where are the goals going to come from? Is Solanke capable of being the answer, which combination of Marmoush, Savio and Kudus will eventually emerge, and how could Maddison and Xavi fit in when they're available again? Plus, we give some deserved praise to Rodrigo Bentancur, discuss the growing partnership and structure of the new midfield, and — naturally — get dragged into the controversy surrounding Forest's disallowed handball goal. ❓ Thom's Teaser brings back some happier memories as Graham and Mark battle to identify some classic Spurs goals — with considerably more success than last week's effort. 🔮 And we update the Predictions League before making our calls for Spurs vs Everton. After three games without a goal, is there genuine cause for concern — or are we just waiting for this completely rebuilt Spurs side to click? Come on you Spurs! COYS
Spurs Sign 10! | Tottenham’s Incredible Transfer Window
2026/09/04
Ten new signings. A brand-new look Spurs squad. And somehow, an awful lot of discussion about trees... Graham, Mark and Thom are back to dissect a remarkable end to Tottenham’s transfer window, as Spurs bring in 10 new players and reshape the squad for Roberto De Zerbi. We run the rule over the new arrivals, including Savinho, Omar Marmoush, Mykhailo Mudryk, Sandro Tonali, Ederson, Jan Paul van Hecke and Marcos Senesi, and ask the big question: have Spurs actually had a good transfer window? There’s also plenty on the players heading the other way. We discuss the departures of Djed Spence, Kevin Danso, Will Lankshear and Pape Matar Sarr, and whether any of those decisions could come back to haunt us. We also look back at the Newcastle defeat, discuss the early signs from De Zerbi’s new-look midfield and defence, and ask how long it might take for so many new players to gel. Then things take a turn... ❓ Thom’s Teaser returns with a Nottingham Forest-themed battle involving Spurs players, trees, wood and some truly appalling puns. 🔮 Plus, we make our predictions for Nottingham Forest vs Spurs and ask whether Tottenham can finally get their Premier League season up and running. Come on you Spurs! COYS
Brentford Burst Our Bubble | Are Spurs in Trouble?
2026/08/25
Well, that wasn't quite the start we had in mind… After a summer full of optimism, Spurs opened the new season with a dismal 3–0 defeat to Brentford. Graham, Thom and special guest Owen pick through what went wrong and ask how much we should really read into one very poor performance. Was the squad properly prepared? Does the midfield have enough quality and physicality? How quickly can De Zerbi get his new-look Spurs side playing the football he wants — and how much difference will Savinho, Marmoush and the rest of the reinforcements make? We also discuss the defensive concerns, whether Spurs need another right-back, the futures of Bergvall and Sarr, the injury situation and De Zerbi's controversial five-man leadership group. Plus, Thom's Teaser returns, we make our predictions for Charlton and Newcastle, and finish by finding some reasons to be positive about the season ahead. Come on you Spurs! 🐓
