What IVF Actually Involves (Day By Day Needle By Needle)
2026/09/27
I’ve spent 6-figures, sold two cars and an investment property, and been stabbed in the guts twice a day for weeks on end.  This is the episode where I finally tell you what IVF actually involves. I explain how an egg retrieval cycle works, why my ovaries swelled from three centimetres to fifteen, what a frozen embryo transfer really involves, and how our little boy came from the worst cycle we have ever done. My doctor nearly cancelled it twice. I also break down the true cost of IVF in Australia, what Medicare and private health do and do not cover, and why we sold so much to make this happen. You’ll hear about Cam's role in the process, how our scientist inseminates the eggs, and how a miscarriage led me to take a 14 month break for my mental health before trying again. Plus the moment we heard a heartbeat for the very first time. If you are starting IVF, sitting in the two week wait, or supporting someone who is, press play and hear what infertility treatment really looks like. What NOT To Say To Someone Going Through IVF (Real Comments I've Received)
2026/09/20
"Just relax." "Have you tried fish oil?" "At least you can get pregnant". Every single comment in this episode was actually said to me during my IVF journey. I’m sharing my IVF journey in a three-part series, and this week is the one your friends need you to hear. I go through the real things people have said to me while I'm mid-cycle, mid-miscarriage, and mid-life. I explain why each one lands like a brick and what to say instead. I also share the list of everything we've actually tried, from acupuncture and 64 supplements to genetic testing and specialty fertility drugs. That list exists so you understand why "have you tried X, Y, or Z" is the wrong question. I talk about the 196 needles in two months, the car I sold to pay for a cycle, and why nobody goes through this by choice. Whether you're supporting someone through fertility treatment or living it yourself, press play. Tune in to hear about: 💜 Why people deep in IVF rarely have the capacity to ask for help (and one question that can help) 💜 The exact lines I use to shut down a conversation… use these if you’re struggling 💜 Why unsolicited advice hurts most in the exact moment people think it helps 💜 A 4-year list of therapies, tests, and treatments I’ve tried 💜 The counterintuitive yet kind gesture from a near stranger that other people need to model Key moments: 00:00:00 Intro 00:13:04 Your Hard Isn't Hard 00:16:08 The Family Question 00:23:20 Just Stop Stressing 00:28:07 It Wasn't Meant To Be 00:33:00 Manifest A Baby 00:37:31 Have You Tried… 00:47:11 Everything We've Tried 00:51:00 How To Actually Support - 👉Find out more about how we can work together: https://iconiccoaching.com.au/coaching/ Support the show - 👉Here’s how to connect: https://www.instagram.com/tellmeaboutit__podcast https://iconiccoaching.com.au

The Salon Owner Who Built a 7 Figure Business From $300 | Mikki Auld
2026/09/06
Mikki Auld built a seven-figure salon - and then she did something most owners never dare to do. She made herself unnecessary. In this episode of Tell Me About It, Cait Muir sits down with Mikki Auld (hair colorist, educator, and founder of Paloma Roan and Mikki Auld Education). Her story starts with just $300 in the bank and it ends (so far) with three salons opened, two sold, and a seven-figure salon business that runs without her - all while she lives on the other side of the world. Mikki shares the systems, structures, and mindset shifts that let her step away from the day-to-day grind, and even move to the USA. She also gets real about starting again in a brand new country, building a client base from scratch, and why she keeps betting big on herself, both in business and in life. If you feel chained to your chair, this episode shows you another way. Tune in to hear: 💜 The real story behind building a seven-figure salon from a $300 start 💜 What it takes to create a salon that runs without you 💜 One hire that finally let Mikki step away (It’s NOT another manager) 💜 The surprising reason Mikki took her own name off the salon 💜 The “major retail store” secret she used to operate her salon from day one 💜 How Mikki went from knowing nobody in the US to fully booked in 12 weeks 💜 The old-school marketing move that built over 50% of her US clients 💜 How she landed features in Goop, Marie Claire, and InStyle without paying a cent 💜 How one online course launch made $30,000 overnight 💜 Why every salon owner needs more than one income stream 💜 The link between entrepreneurial brains, creativity, and anxiety Key moments: 00:00:00 Intro 00:01:00 Meet Mikki Auld 00:04:40 Planning the secret move 00:10:20 Skin in the game 00:15:00 Think bigger early 00:21:50 Breakdown after London 00:31:45 Giant Post-it goals 00:40:31 Thirty grand overnight 00:44:12 Old-school flyer marketing 00:59:30 Freezing her eggs 01:16:43 Start again anytime - 👉Connect with Mikki: https://www.instagram.com/mikkiauld - 👉Learn from Mikki: Stand Out Salon Academy - https://www.mikkiauld.com/standout-salon-academy  Stand Out Stylist Blueprint - https://mikki-auld.myflodesk.com/cv6574io8i Free Guide For Salon Owners - https://mikki-auld.myflodesk.com/jlobaaxqxg Support the show - 👉Here’s how to connect: https://www.instagram.com/tellmeaboutit__podcast https://iconiccoaching.com.au

What does it really take to build a beauty business from the ground up?  In this episode of Tell Me About It, Cait Muir sits down with Tash Rowe, founder of Lash Baby Australia. Tash opened her first salon at just 20. Today, Lash Baby Australia includes multiple salons, an online lash supply store, and a lash training academy that helps new lash artists raise the standard of the industry. Why I Refused To Discount And Had My Biggest Year Ever
2026/04/20
If you’re constantly being asked to “just do a quick favour,” lowering your prices to keep clients happy, or feeling weird about charging what you’re actually worth… you NEED to hear this. Right now, with tighter budgets and more competition, it’s easy to slip into undercharging, over-delivering, and giving away your expertise for free just to stay relevant. But that pattern doesn’t build a sustainable business - instead, it builds resentment, burnout, and clients who don’t value what you do. This episode is a direct, honest conversation about what’s really happening when you discount your work, why free advice isn’t as harmless as it seems, and how pricing impacts more than just your income. Tune in to discover ✅Why discounting your services can quietly damage your business ✅The difference between being flexible vs. devaluing yourself ✅What people are really saying when they ask for “free advice” ✅How undercharging creates imbalance, resentment, and burnout ✅Why higher prices often lead to better clients and stronger results ✅The connection between money, energy, and sustainable business growth ✅What changes when you start treating your expertise like it actually matters Key moments: 00:00  Intro 01:20  Why discounting without reason is a hill worth dying on 02:00  Meeting someone's budget vs. being bargained down 03:40  What your prices are really telling the universe 05:00  The "quick question" problem 06:40  What people are actually saying when they ask for free 08:40  The one-line script that redirects unpaid requests 09:00  The PT example: tiered support done right 10:40  Money as energy exchange 11:40  Why incomplete exchanges breed resentment 15:00  The $650 coaching call I was excited to pay 16:40  If premium prices trigger you, read this 19:00  Why higher prices create higher perceived value 20:40  Skin in the game: why paid clients actually do the work 21:40  What happened when I raised my prices 30% 22:40  Know your worth, then add tax - 👉Find out more about how we can work together: https://iconiccoaching.com.au/coaching/ Support the show - 👉Here’s how to connect: https://www.instagram.com/tellmeaboutit__podcast https://iconiccoaching.com.au
