Description

Here we are to talk about travel. Specifically, how my wife Christy and I lead our three teenagers and an old guy, her dad, through all kinds of adventures. I’m going to tell you where we went, what we did and show you how we paced ourselves to avoid meltdowns  and mutiny. If you're trying to plan a trip anywhere with your family or alone, this show will be helpful. If you’re looking to stay at home and let us do the traveling for you, that works too. Basically, travel is good and we do it well. And I want to share that with you.

Best things to do in Athens, Greece. Why Athens is worth visiting. Athens 3 day itinerary. Monastiraki, the Plaka, Psirri. Greek food and restaurants. Acropolis, Parthenon.
2026/09/24
Steve, Christy and family head to Athens and learn that the difference between wonder and misery is often a snack, a nap, and the courage to change the plan. Along the way we bail on a bad Acropolis tour, stumble into a better sightseeing rhythm, and somehow get teenagers to love an opera in an ancient Greek theater. • Choosing an Airbnb next to the Acropolis and letting location do the heavy lifting • Learning the hard way that “I feel weird” usually means “I’m hungry” • Using Monastiraki food, shade, and nap time to avoid mutiny • Calling an audible after a fall and letting a simple dinner save the night • Talking through teen conflict and remembering love beats perfection • Quitting a disappointing Acropolis tour and roaming free • Building a smarter Acropolis and Acropolis Museum itinerary with a lunch break • Watching travel expand a kid’s palate and expectations in real time • Planning a big culture night with pizza, pacing, and a well-timed exit • Ending Athens with rooftop meals, tired laughs, and a dad reality check If you've enjoyed the show, go ahead and leave a five-star review, then share it with your friends. Greek Island Hopping, Greek Islands Itinerary, Greek Islands beyond Santorini and Mykonos, Best Greek Islands that aren't Touristy
2026/09/03
Steve and the fam go sailing through the Greek islands on a week-long catamaran charter, from the heat of Athens to tiny harbors cruise ships can’t touch. Along the way they share how we pace the days, keep logistics simple, and enjoy the moments that don’t fit in a photo.  • Choosing trains vs rideshares based on group energy and cost  • Handling Athens heat, time-zone hunger  • Why a Greek islands catamaran charter can be more affordable than it sounds  • Meeting our captain and chef first mate and settling into boat rules  • Kithnos and Serifos harbor life, fresh fish, ouzo, and night swims  • Bus rides and steep steps to big views in the hill towns  • Milos by van, Sarakiniko cliffs  • Pirate caves, paddle boards, and keeping an eye on head bumps  • Syros as a change of pace with marble streets and a powerful church visit  • Kea’s hilltop dinner, cultural misunderstandings, and finally getting the “big glass”  • Temple of Poseidon hike and a near miss on the tender  • Ending with favorite moments, Uno, and saying goodbye to boat life  If you've enjoyed the show, please do us a favor and share it with your friends. Our Approach to Planning. Ten steps to the perfect trip: travel itinerary, flights, accommodations
2025/11/18
Steve shares the 10-step framework for planning trips, from choosing destinations that truly fit to pacing days so the fun lasts. Anchors, alternation, and a single shared Google Doc turn daunting into ease without losing the spark. • choosing a destination by connection, food, climate, culture, relaxation • using guidebooks and searches to find anchor experiences • building a shared Google Doc with confirmations and backups • alternating city and country to manage energy • one main activity per day and making options optional • booking must-see sites and stays ahead to protect spontaneity • why group travel thrives in a home over hotel • flights with price alerts and regional comparisons • visas and entry rules done on official sites • revisiting and revising plans while asking locals for food Follow the podcast so you know when season two arrives Share the podcast with your friends that love to travel, even if they're just the vicarious type of traveler If Where We're Gonna Go has been fun and informative for you, please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform See pictures of the fam on their adventures on Instagram @wwggwithstevewebb If you like the theme music check our Steve's album with the links below https://open.spotify.com/album/0boqNyhBk1U1sww21uEWaD?si=RRG2ZItGSImrpIN14t_c2g https://themostfamousstevewebb.bandcamp.com/album/national-treasure Some of the drumtracks on the interstitial music were originally derived from the Pocket Queen’s New Breaks Vol 1 https://www.thepocketqueen.com/ Contact Steve: [email protected] Sample Itinerary: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1UtzpCxd0WuKVkOZGtyIZG94nsf-KLO8yFMWMyXsbfGs/edit
