79. Emotional Healing, Boundaries & Self-Love with KeKe Chanel
2026/10/28
Have you ever walked away from a toxic or narcissistic relationship but still felt broken, questioned your worth, or struggled to recognize the woman staring back at you in the mirror? ❤️‍🩹 Sweet friend, this conversation is for YOU. Today, I'm sitting down with KeKe Chanel, author, certified mindset coach, podcast host, and owner of 19 Lifestyle Magazine. KeKe shares her powerful story of surviving mental, emotional, and verbal abuse, losing herself in a relationship, and reaching the point where she knew she had to leave to survive. But leaving was only the beginning of her healing journey. Together, we're talking about what it looks like to rebuild your mindset after emotional abuse, learn to love yourself again, and trust God through the darkest seasons of your life. KeKe gets real about the importance of prayer, surrounding yourself with people who genuinely support you, and recognizing that you are not responsible for everyone else's emotions. In this episode, we discuss: ✨ Self-love vs. self-care: Why loving yourself is about more than getting your hair and nails done, and how making healthier choices can help you reconnect with who God created you to be. ✨ Healing after gaslighting: How emotional abuse can damage your self-confidence and leave you questioning your worth, even years after the relationship ends. ✨ Setting boundaries without guilt: Why you cannot make someone treat you the way you deserve and why sometimes “no” is a complete sentence. ✨ Rebuilding your mindset: How to stop carrying the weight of other people's emotions and begin taking responsibility for your own healing. ✨ Practical steps for moving forward: KeKe shares how journaling, giving yourself grace, and taking things one day at a time helped her begin to heal. ✨ Finding God in the darkness: We talk about those seasons when God feels quiet, the power of prayer, and the people God places in our lives to stand in the gap for us when we struggle to pray for ourselves. And, friend, don't miss KeKe's heartfelt message for the woman who has finally walked away but is still questioning whether she can move forward. Her reminder to trust yourself, give yourself grace, and remember that you deserve better is one you may need to hear today. You do not have to have your whole life figured out. You don't have to heal overnight. You just have to be willing to take that next step. God has not forgotten you, mama. Your past does not define your future, and you are worthy of a life filled with peace, love, and healthy relationships. 78. 3 Ways to Set Firm Personal Boundaries
2026/10/26
3 Ways to Set Firm Personal Boundaries Hey, mama! ❤️ Have you ever felt guilty for saying no? Do you struggle to set boundaries with your narcissistic ex because you're afraid of being seen as mean, selfish, or unloving? When you've spent years in a relationship where your feelings were dismissed, your boundaries were crossed, and you were made to feel responsible for someone else's emotions, learning to stand firm can feel HARD. But here's the truth, sweet friend: You can love someone, forgive someone, and still have boundaries. In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about three practical, Scripture-based ways to set firm personal boundaries as you heal after leaving a narcissistic relationship. Together, we'll explore how to: 🌿 Get clear on what you will and will not accept. 🌿 Stop letting guilt dictate your decisions. 🌿 Follow through on your boundaries, even when it's uncomfortable. We'll talk about what God's Word teaches us about protecting our hearts, navigating guilt, and learning to say no without feeling like we've done something wrong. If you're rebuilding your life after leaving a narcissistic husband, learning to co-parent with a difficult ex, or simply trying to find your footing again, this episode is for you. Remember, mama: Setting boundaries isn't about punishing someone else. It's about deciding what you will participate in as you protect your peace and create a healthier environment for yourself and your children. You don't have to master every boundary overnight. Start small, pray for wisdom, and give yourself grace along the way. ❤️ Let's Connect! 🎙️ Listen to Her Healing Season on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/her-healing-season-narcissist-single-mom-biblical-encouragement/id1847442562 🌿 Join the Insider List: https://mailchi.mp/6baaaae17d1d/insiderlist 💻 Visit my website: www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing 💕 Learn about Narcissistic Recovery Coaching: www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing/coaching Her Healing Season is here to encourage and support you with faith-based resources. 77. Quiet Time with God: Finding Stillness When Your Mind is Racing
2026/10/21
Mama, have you ever sat down to spend time with God, only to find your mind replaying conversations, running through your to-do list, or thinking about everything except the Bible sitting in front of you? 🙋‍♀️ If your brain feels like it has 47 tabs open and you have no idea how to shut them off, this episode of Her Healing Season is for you! I'm sharing a funny story about the difference between men's and women's brains (including my husband's infamous “nothing box” 😂) and how it connects to our struggle to find stillness with God. We'll talk about Psalm 46:10, what it means to be still and know that He is God, and why we don't have to create stillness all by ourselves. I'll share what changed when I stopped trying to quiet my racing mind through my own efforts and started asking God to help me focus, be present, and truly absorb His Word. If you're a Christian mom healing after leaving a narcissistic relationship, navigating the mental load of motherhood, or simply struggling to slow down long enough to hear from God, I want to encourage you: You don't have to have a perfectly quiet mind to spend meaningful time with God. In this episode, we'll talk about: Why quiet time can feel so difficult when your mind is constantly racing What Psalm 46:10 teaches us about stillness How to ask God for help when you struggle to focus during prayer or Bible reading Three practical ways to invite God into your racing thoughts How to stop condemning yourself when distractions interrupt your time with Him Your challenge this week: Before you open your Bible or begin praying, simply ask God to help you find stillness in His presence. You don't have to get everything figured out before you come to Him. Bring Him the tangled thoughts, the unfinished to-do list, and the worries weighing on your heart. He meets you right where you are. ❤️ 🌿 Connect with Bethany: 🎧 Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/her-healing-season-narcissist-single-mom-biblical-encouragement/id1847442562 💌 Join the Insider List: https://mailchi.mp/6baaaae17d1d/insiderlist 🌐 Visit the website: www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing 🤍 Explore Narcissistic Recovery Coaching: www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing/coaching Her Healing Season offers faith-led rest and recovery for moms after leaving a narcissistic husband, with biblical encouragement for healing, rebuilding, and finding peace in the season ahead.
76. Finding Hope When You Feel Stuck
2026/10/19
Have you ever felt like you're doing everything you can to rebuild your life after leaving a narcissistic relationship, but you're STILL stuck? You're trying to heal, raise your kids, navigate your new normal, and move forward, but deep down, you're lonely, exhausted, and wondering when things will finally get better. Sweet friend, if that's you, this episode of Her Healing Season is for YOU. When I felt my loneliest and lowest, God used two powerful truths to remind me that I wasn't alone and that there was still hope for my future. ❤️ Truth #1: God has not let go of you. We'll explore Hebrews 13:5–6 and the incredible promise that God will never leave us or loosen His grip on our lives. We'll look at God's encouragement to Joshua to be strong and courageous, and I'll share a personal picture that reminds me of the comfort we can find in knowing God is holding our hand, even when life feels scary and uncertain. ❤️ Truth #2: You don't have to do this alone. For a long time, I struggled to accept help, even when I desperately needed it. Through Philippians 4:10–23, we'll look at what Paul teaches us about generosity, contentment, and receiving help. Sometimes God provides for us through the people He places around us, and learning to receive that help can be part of our healing. If you're a Christian mom rebuilding your life after leaving a narcissistic husband, navigating single motherhood, or struggling to find hope in a season that feels overwhelming, I pray this episode reminds you that feeling stuck doesn't mean God has abandoned you. You don't have to see the entire path ahead. You can trust the One who walks with you, and you don't have to carry every burden alone. Your next step: Ask God to help you recognize the safe, trustworthy people He may be using to support you in this season. 🌿 Let's stay connected! 🎧 Listen on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/her-healing-season-narcissist-single-mom-biblical-encouragement/id1847442562 💌 Join the Insider List: https://mailchi.mp/6baaaae17d1d/insiderlist 🌐 Visit my website: www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing 🤍 Learn about Narcissistic Recovery Coaching: www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing/coaching Remember, mama: God has not let go of you. 75. Are the Kids All Losing It? 4 Steps to Help Your Kids Calm Down (Without Losing It Yourself!)
2026/10/14
Ever have one of those afternoons when your kids are fighting, everybody's yelling, somebody's crying, and you're about two seconds away from losing it yourself?! Friends, that was ME last week! 😂 And let me tell you, I have been on the parenting struggle bus for a while now. At this point, I might actually be the driver! But in the middle of the chaos, I had a realization: I've been learning how to regulate MY nervous system, but what about my kids?! So I tried something new. I sat down with each of my children individually and walked them through a simple reset using breathing, gentle tapping, slowing down, and prayer. And guess what? We made it through the rest of the evening without another issue! Now, I'm not claiming to have discovered a magic parenting trick. I wish! But this experience reminded me that if I'm still learning how to manage my own emotions as an adult, why would I expect my kids to have it all figured out? In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about: Kids and nervous system regulation: Why helping our children manage big emotions matters just as much as correcting their behavior. My step-by-step reset: The breathing, tapping, and prayer routine I tried with my own kids. A biblical heart posture: How we can teach our children to focus on their own hearts and their relationship with God instead of only pointing out someone else's flaws. Christian parenting and self-control: Connecting Scripture with the everyday challenges of fighting, yelling, frustration, and sibling conflict. Mama, we need to regulate, too! Why we can't expect perfection from our children when we're still learning ourselves. We'll talk about Romans 12:2, Psalm 139:23–24, James 1:19–20, and Galatians 5:22–23 as we explore transformation, self-control, and inviting God to work in our hearts. And just to be clear, this isn't about excusing hitting, ignoring boundaries, or expecting a few deep breaths to magically fix every parenting problem. It's about adding another tool to our parenting toolbox while continuing to teach accountability, kindness, and biblical principles. Because friends, we're not perfect moms raising perfect kids. We're growing together, one hard afternoon at a time! 74. How to Lead Your Kids to Jesus While You’re Still Healing with Samantha Watson
2026/10/12
You Don't Have to Be a Perfect Mom to Lead Your Kids to Jesus with Samantha Watson What if your children don't need a perfectly healed mom—they need to see a mom who knows where to go when life hurts? In today's episode of Her Healing Season, I'm talking with Christian author, podcaster, and children's ministry leader Samantha Watson about something so many moms wrestle with: How do I lead my children spiritually when I'm still healing myself? Samantha has spent more than 20 years serving children and families and is the creator of the iDevote Series and host of the top 3% globally ranked Simple Devotions for Children podcast. We talk about: ✨ Why our children need to develop their own relationship with Jesus—not simply follow Mom's faith ✨ How our own past trauma and healing journey can affect the way we approach faith and devotions with our kids ✨ Why you don't have to be completely healed before you can spiritually lead your children ✨ What our kids can learn by watching us pray, seek God, apologize, forgive, and walk through difficult seasons ✨ How growing closer to God can help children develop wisdom and make better choices as they get older ✨ Simple ways to bring faith into your home without making it another overwhelming thing on your to-do list One of my favorite parts of this conversation is the reminder that our healing journey can actually become something our children learn from. They don't need to see a perfect mom. They can see a mom who says, “I don't have this all figured out, but I know where I'm going.” If you're a mom who is healing, rebuilding, or simply trying to grow closer to God while raising your kids, I think this conversation will encourage you. 73. The Power of Words: What Your Tongue Is Revealing About Your Heart
2026/10/07
Have you ever said something in anger, frustration, or exhaustion and immediately wished you could take it back? This week, I was studying the book of Romans and got completely stopped by what Scripture has to say about our mouths. The Bible doesn't treat our words as insignificant. Scripture compares the tongue to fire, poison, a bit in a horse's mouth, and a rudder on a ship—something small that can have an enormous impact. In this episode, we're diving into Romans 3, James 3, Matthew 12, Proverbs, Ephesians, Colossians, and more as we talk about the power of our words, the danger of careless speech, and what our words reveal about what's happening inside our hearts. But this isn't simply an episode about “watching your mouth.” It's about going deeper. Because Jesus tells us that what comes out of our mouths comes from our hearts. So instead of only asking God, “Help me control my tongue,” what if we started asking: “God, what is happening in my heart that is producing these words?” We'll talk about the words we speak to our children, our families, other people, our former spouses, and even ourselves. We'll also talk about planting seeds through our words—how we can faithfully plant and water while trusting God with the growth and His timing. And I'll give you a simple tool you can actually use in real life: P.A.U.S.E. 🌿 FREE COMPANION WORKBOOK I've created a free Bible study + reflection workbook to go along with this episode! It includes the Scripture references we talk about, reflection questions, heart-conviction prompts, a 7-day P.A.U.S.E. challenge, and a printable P.A.U.S.E. reminder you can keep nearby. 👉 Get your free workbook here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vL6gPWght1MX8u0HXKiSRjaOyUhicYaRUAUUVNqKw2c/copy?usp=sharing If you've ever struggled with reactive speech, anger, gossip, people-pleasing, harsh words, or simply wish you were better at communicating with grace, this episode is for you. 72. Healing From Gaslighting: How to Trust Yourself Again After Narcissistic Abuse | Dr. David Pendergrass
2026/10/05
Have you ever walked away from a relationship and thought, “Wait… was it really that bad?” Or maybe you find yourself constantly second-guessing your decisions, questioning your memory, or wondering if you can trust your own instincts anymore. Today on Her Healing Season, I am welcoming back Dr. David W. Pendergrass for a conversation about gaslighting, narcissistic and toxic relationships, rebuilding self-trust, and learning how to recognize healthy relationships after you've experienced an unhealthy one. We start with the basics: What exactly IS gaslighting? What makes someone a narcissist? And what makes a relationship toxic? Then we get into what happens after you leave. Why can the effects of gaslighting continue long after the relationship is over? Why do women sometimes struggle to trust themselves? What does hypervigilance look like in dating and relationships? And how do you tell the difference between healthy caution and fear caused by your past? We also talk about something I know many women wonder about: “How do I make sure I don't miss the red flags again?” David and I discuss why red flags can be difficult to see at the beginning of a relationship, what can keep us in relationships even after we start noticing problems, and whether people who leave narcissistic or toxic relationships can find themselves repeating familiar relationship patterns. And perhaps most importantly, we talk about what it looks like to eventually trust again—not just another person, but yourself. If you've ever wondered whether you can have a healthy relationship after a toxic one, this conversation is for you. 71. 7 Boundaries To Understand and How They Change Your Life
2026/09/30
What if boundaries are biblical? As Christian women, we hear a lot about forgiveness, grace, loving others, turning the other cheek, and being peacemakers. But sometimes we can become so focused on being "good Christians" that we forget something important: **Jesus had boundaries too.** In this episode of *Her Healing Season*, we're looking at **7 biblical examples of boundaries** and what they can teach us about protecting our peace, obeying God, and navigating relationships—especially after experiencing narcissistic abuse. We are going to look at 7 examples of people in the Bible who set, or needed to set, boundaries. And ultimately, we'll talk about what it means to live **in the world but not of the world**—knowing when to extend grace, when to tolerate differences, and when standing for Jesus matters more than keeping the peace. If you've ever wondered, *"Am I being selfish? Am I being unforgiving? Is this boundary actually biblical?"*—this episode is for you. Boundaries aren't about becoming harder or colder. They're about becoming **clearer about what God has called you to carry, protect, release, tolerate, and stand firm on.** **Narcissistic Recovery Coaching:** [www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing/coaching](http://www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing/coaching) **Join the Insider List:** https://mailchi.mp/6baaaae17d1d/insiderlist **Website:** [www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing](http://www.bethanyrose.net/herhealing) **Apple Podcasts:** https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/her-healing-season-narcissist-single-mom-biblical-encouragement/id1847442562 Have a friend who is struggling with boundaries after a difficult relationship? 70. Have a Lack of Self-Worth? 3 Ways to Build Confidence
2026/09/28
Have a Lack of Self-Worth? 3 Ways to Build Confidence What if your lack of confidence isn't actually the problem? Maybe you look at other women and wonder, How does she seem so confident? How does she speak up like that? How does she set boundaries without feeling guilty? How does she trust herself? But what if confidence is something you can actually rebuild? After criticism, rejection, gaslighting, manipulation, or years of second-guessing yourself, it can become really difficult to trust your own thoughts, feelings, decisions, and instincts. And eventually you may start questioning everything… your decisions, your instincts, your appearance, your worth, and even who you are. In this episode, we're talking about what it really looks like to rebuild your self-worth and confidence as a Christian woman. I'll share some of my own struggles with needing validation, learning to trust myself again, keeping promises to myself, and even the slightly ridiculous thing I started doing in the mirror to change the way I talked to myself. 😂 We'll talk about the difference between self-worth and confidence, why your worth cannot be determined by someone else's approval, how small acts of discipline can rebuild self-trust, and what Scripture says about the way we see ourselves. Because confidence doesn't mean you never doubt yourself. It doesn't mean you're never afraid. And it definitely doesn't mean you become the loudest woman in the room. Confidence is learning who you are, who you belong to, and learning to trust yourself again. And friend, if you've spent years wondering whether you're enough, whether you're doing things right, or whether you can actually trust yourself… this conversation is for you. ✨ FREE JOURNALING KIT! I created a FREE journal to go along with this episode to help you slow down, reflect, and work through some of the questions we talk about in the episode. 69. Go Mama Go: Breaking the Hyper-Vigilance Cycle
2026/09/23
Go, mama, go! 🙃 Get the kids up. Get them dressed. Make breakfast. Get them to school. Work. Pick them up. Practice. Dinner. Homework. Baths. Bed. And then maybe you finally get to breathe… or fall asleep on the couch… or pour yourself another glass of whatever you just told yourself you weren't going to have as much of. 😂 But what if your constant “go, go, go” isn't always just because you're a busy mom? What if sometimes busy becomes a socially acceptable way to avoid what you don't want to feel? In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about hyper-vigilance, survival mode, burnout, and the uncomfortable reality that sometimes slowing down can feel harder than staying busy. After leaving my husband, I went straight into single-mom survival mode. I worked 7 days a week, had 3 different jobs, side hustles, kids, a social life, and a calendar that never seemed to stop. I thought I was just being strong. I thought I had a great work ethic. But God eventually showed me something I didn't realize at the time: I wasn't just working hard. I was running. Running from grief. Running from fear. Running from uncertainty. Running from the pain of what had happened. And, in some ways, even running from the peace and rest God was trying to give me. In this episode, we'll talk about: What hyper-vigilance can look like in everyday motherhood Why rest can feel uncomfortable after prolonged stress How “if I keep moving, I don't have to feel” can become a pattern Why busy can become a form of avoidance The connection between survival mode and the inability to slow down What the Bible says about rest, including Matthew 11:28–29, Psalm 46:10, Mark 6:31, and Psalm 23 What “holy rest” can actually look like Learning to sit quietly with your thoughts instead of immediately filling the silence Why rest isn't laziness, weakness, or irresponsibility How God taught me that I could do what He called me to do without carrying what He never asked me to carry Because here's the thing, mama: You were never created to live your entire life in survival mode. There is a season to work. A season to move. A season to fight. But there is also a season to be still. Maybe your healing season begins when you finally stop running. If you're a mom rebuilding your life after leaving a narcissistic husband and you're ready to stop surviving and begin rebuilding and restoring, I'd love to help you. 67. 5 Healthy Habits To Build That Last
2026/09/16
When you're rebuilding your life after an emotionally difficult relationship, it can feel like EVERYTHING needs to change. Your routines. Your confidence. Your peace. Your relationship with God. Even the way you take care of yourself. But you don't need a perfect routine—you need a few healthy habits that become foundational. In this episode of Her Healing Season, we're talking about 5 simple habits that can help you rebuild your life with intention instead of continuing to live in reaction mode. These aren't about becoming the "perfect" woman or creating some unrealistic 5 AM routine. They're about building habits that actually work inside your real life. We'll also talk about why these habits can be especially important when you're coming out of a difficult relationship and trying to rebuild your identity, peace, health, and relationship with God. And don't miss the 7-day challenge at the end: choose your five non-negotiables—or start with three—and begin building your next season on a solid foundation. If you're ready to rebuild and restore, you don't have to do it alone. ✨ Learn more about Narcissistic Recovery Coaching: bethanyrose.net/herhealing/coaching 🎙️ Her Healing Season Faith-Led Rest and Recovery for Moms After Leaving a Narcissistic Husband Find more resources and episodes at: bethanyrose.net/herhealing 📩 Email: [email protected]
66. Good Boundaries & Goodbyes: Protecting Your Peace From a Narcissistic Ex
2026/09/14
Leaving a narcissistic relationship is hard. But sometimes, leaving is only the beginning. If you're a Christian mom who has left a toxic or narcissistic husband, you may be facing more than just the logistics of starting over. You may be questioning yourself, struggling to trust your own decisions, feeling guilty about your family, or wondering how you're ever going to feel like you again. In this episode of Her Healing Season, Bethany gets personal about her own experience of leaving her first husband with two young children and the difficult season of leaving, coming back, questioning herself, and learning to trust her decisions again. She shares two things God taught her along the way: GOOD BOUNDARIES — Learning to let your yes be yes and your no be no, refusing to be talked out of decisions you know are right, and protecting yourself from unhealthy patterns without becoming consumed by conflict. GOODBYES — Learning that it's okay to let go of people, things, expectations, old identities, and even the future you thought you were going to have. Sometimes healing means releasing what God is asking you to release so you can move forward into what He has for you. Together, we'll look at Scripture including Matthew 5:37, 1 Kings 18:21, Proverbs 22:24–25, John 15, 1 Corinthians 15:33, Philippians 3:13–14, and Matthew 10. If you're struggling with healing after leaving a narcissistic husband, setting boundaries, rebuilding your peace, trusting yourself again, or letting go of the past, this episode is for you. And if you're ready for some personal support as you begin rebuilding, learn more about Rebuild and Restore Coaching, Bethany's one-on-one coaching for Christian moms healing after a narcissistic relationship. 65. Are You Striving or Surrendering? The Enneagram, Mom Guilt & Growing Closer to God with Dina Smith
2026/09/09
What if some of the things you’ve always considered “just who I am” are actually patterns you’ve learned to rely on? In this episode, I’m joined by Dina Smith, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, speaker, and Enneagram coach, for a conversation about the Enneagram, Christian faith, motherhood, relationships, and spiritual growth. Dina explains what the nine Enneagram types are and how understanding our motivations can help us recognize patterns in the way we think, feel, behave, parent, and relate to others. But this conversation isn’t about putting yourself in a box—it’s about gaining self-awareness and discovering the places where you may need God’s grace the most. We talk about mom guilt, perfectionism, people-pleasing, striving, conflict, parenting from our own personality instead of understanding our children, and what happens when we finally surrender the strategies we’ve used our whole lives. Most importantly, we talk about the reminder every Christian mom needs: you are already loved. Spiritual growth isn’t about striving your way into becoming worthy of God’s love. It’s about becoming increasingly free to live in the love and grace you’ve already received through Christ. If you’ve ever thought, “Why do I keep doing this?” or wondered why you struggle with the same patterns over and over again, this conversation is for you.
