The House with the Mango Tree: Johnnie in the Dominican Republic, Book 1
2026/10/15
What if leaving everything familiar is the first step toward discovering where you truly belong?
Twelve-year-old Johnnie never asked to move to the Dominican Republic.
Back home, he had his school, his best friend, his basketball hoop—and a life that made sense. But when his parents move the family to a colorful new neighborhood for missionary work, Johnnie suddenly finds himself surrounded by unfamiliar sounds, unfamiliar words, and a culture he isn't sure will ever feel like home.
Then he meets Mateo.
With a baseball glove, a quick sense of humor, and plenty of patience for Johnnie's Spanish, Mateo gives the new kid something he desperately needs: a friend. And beneath the branches of a sprawling mango tree, through neighborhood adventures, unexpected power outages, glowing fireflies, and opportunities to serve others, Johnnie begins to see his new home differently.
Maybe belonging doesn't happen all at once.
Maybe sometimes it begins with one friend, one act of kindness, and the courage to make room for something new.
The House with the Mango Tree is the heartwarming first book in the Johnnie in the Dominican Republic series—a faith-centered children's story about friendship, courage, cultural discovery, service, and trusting God through life's biggest changes.
Perfect for young independent readers, family read-alouds, Christian families, homeschoolers, classrooms, churches, and children's reading groups.
A warm and hopeful story for every child who has ever left something familiar and wondered if a new place could ever feel like home.

Resurrection Earth
2026/10/13
In 2069, life was both cheap and precious, and bravery was born of desperation.
Amid a late-21st-century climate crisis, a brutal survivalist American-Chinese world government emerges. Desperate to heal the planet, it deploys an AI model for Earth’s Ecosystem (AIMEE) that, designed to restore natural balance, unleashes uncontrolled serial pandemics to curb human overpopulation.
At the heart of the conflict lies the Aldrich family, whose fate becomes linked to that of the Earth itself. Aksel is Chairman of the World Supreme Council in Brussels. His son, Weston, is a defiant Air Force pilot, while his daughter, Reyanna, is a brilliant young scientist captivated by AI’s potential to save humanity. With the guidance of an AI avatar and mentors at the AI Institute, Rey devises a solution to counter AIMEE, and drafts a radical reform plan, drawing from history’s greatest political and social ideals to forge a new world order.
But when Rey exposes the regime’s atrocities by hacking into a classified data vault, she becomes a fugitive, hunted by relentless agents and harbored by a resistance leader.
Forced to break with their father, Rey and Wes decide to rally alongside the resistance and military officers to wage a desperate war against the regime.

The Rabbi's Suitcase
2026/10/13
A suitcase of hidden love letters. Four generations. One family's crossing from a Lithuanian shtetl to Ottoman Jerusalem — and on to Depression-era America.
Winner of the 2026 NYC Big Book Award — JudaismWinner of the 2026 American Legacy Book Awards — Best New FictionWinner of the 2026 Next Generation Indie Book Award — Historical Fiction (1900s)
Inspired by history and a trove of love letters, The Rabbi's Suitcase recounts how, in the early 1880s, a battered steamship, overcrowded with Orthodox Jewish travelers, makes a treacherous journey from Lithuania to Jerusalem, the home of their patriarchs. On board, Yosef Siev, a twelve-year-old mystic, is entranced with wild-haired Chana. Their story is told against a backdrop of Ottoman rule, the privations of WWI, and British Mandatory uprisings.
In 1926 Yosef and Chana's seventeen-year-old granddaughter, Zipora, enters a forbidden relationship with Reuven, a young Lithuanian immigrant destined, as a close ally of David Ben Gurion, to become a founder of the State of Israel. The liaison extracts a heavy toll. With dreams of self-discovery and a better future for herself and her family, Zipora travels to America determined to contribute to Reuven's studies at the Sorbonne. Conflicts arise over issues of politics, gender inequality, and fidelity, forcing heart-wrenching decisions.
Robert Kehlmann built this multigenerational family saga from real history and a trove of intimate letters found among his mother's belongings after her death. It is a sweeping immigrant love story and a portrait of Jewish life across three continents and fifty years — Lithuania, Palestine under Turkish and British rule, and the America of the Great Depression.
"A poignant, informative portrait of Jewish life." — Kirkus Reviews

What She Stole
2026/10/09
Memory is the girl and the girl, memory. Memory is the story we tell ourselves to hide, or to find, the truth down deep. Sometimes those two stories-the one we tell and the one buried deep-are the same.
Seventeen-year-old Eloise Goldstein gets picked up for shoplifting at the local suburban mall and spends hours waiting for her narcissistic mother to pick her up. As the security guard locks her in a holding room, she sits with nothing to do but "think about her actions." Alone, repressed memories emerge, bringing her childhood-growing up with a schizophrenic father and depressed mother-into new light.
From the author of the award-winning poetry chapbook "Birth of a Daughter" comes a lyrical coming-of-age novel about a young woman who struggles to feel loved and find her voice among a chaotic and confusing household. "What She Stole" explores how one woman, shaped by the dichotomies of memory and trauma, uses writing, mothering, and bodywork to heal.

Breakfast at Bernie's: Waffles and Wisdom
2026/10/09
At Bernie’s Café, every cup of coffee comes with a story—and some stories refuse to stay buried.
Breakfast at Bernie’s: Waffles and Wisdom is a warm, character-driven small-town novel set in Columbus, Wisconsin, where Bernie’s Café serves as both gathering place and emotional refuge. Each morning, a circle of aging regulars—Ed Johnson, Bill Welcher, Grant Belmont, and Leo Gibson—settle into their familiar corner table for coffee, waffles, arguments, jokes, and the kind of hard-earned wisdom that comes only from long lives marked by love, loss, faith, war, and friendship. Presiding over the café with sharp wit and quiet compassion is Lou Dyer, a waitress whose brisk manner hides a painful past and a fierce need to protect the people and place that helped her rebuild her life.
At first, the story unfolds through the comforting rhythms of breakfast: Ed’s embellished tales, Bill’s opinions, Grant’s quiet grief for his late wife Eleanor, and Leo’s gentle moral clarity. Their conversations range from politics and religion to aging, illness, estate planning, second chances, and the memories left behind by the people they loved. Beneath the humor, however, the novel explores the vulnerability of later life—the fear of becoming dependent, the ache of loneliness, and the courage it takes to remain open to connection after devastating loss. Grant’s heart trouble forces him to confront his stubborn independence and accept help from his daughter Julia, while Bill begins to wonder whether life might still offer him another chance at companionship.
The arrival of Myra Davis changes the chemistry of Bernie’s. Polished, observant, and guarded, Myra enters the café with a notebook, a careful smile, and questions that seem innocent until Lou begins to notice patterns. Myra rents Bill’s duplex, draws him into conversations about old maps and River Road properties, and slowly wins a place at the regulars’ table. Bill, still mourning Helen and hungry for purpose, is flattered by Myra’s attention, but Lou suspects that Myra’s charm conceals an agenda. Her investigation leads to the Deakins family, an estate tied up in probate, and the discovery that Myra may be connected to Edna and Clara Deakins, reclusive sisters whose land and family secrets have long been buried beneath town gossip and official records.
As Lou digs through old papers and Myra is forced to reveal the truth, the novel’s cozy breakfast-table world deepens into a story about inheritance, belonging, and the moral complexity of seeking justice. Myra claims Edna was her aunt and that her mother, Ruth Ann, was Clara’s unacknowledged daughter—a child sent away and effectively erased by a family determined to preserve appearances. Myra wants the estate, but she also wants her mother’s existence recognized and restored to the record. Her secrecy wounds Bill and confirms Lou’s worst fears, yet her grief complicates easy judgment. What appears at first to be manipulation becomes a painful quest for identity, truth, and restitution.
Through café banter, remembered marriages, wartime trauma, family secrets, and the slow unraveling of a local mystery, Breakfast at Bernie’s: Waffles and Wisdom becomes a tender portrait of community in old age. It asks how people continue after loss, how friendship can become family, and how truth—however disruptive—can create the possibility of healing. Bernie’s Café remains the novel’s heart: a place where coffee is poured, arguments flare, and forgiveness is tested.

Love Conquers All
2026/10/09
Love Conquers All is the remarkable true story of an unexpected romance between two people from different worlds.
Steve Vincent, a sailor finishing his tour of duty and preparing to return home to South Carolina, had no idea that his life was about to change forever. More than 2,000 miles away, Dr. Guadalupe Espino had just completed medical school and was beginning her career in Mexico. Their paths should never have crossed, yet fate brought them together in a small rural community in South Carolina.
There was one major obstacle: Steve spoke only English, and Guadalupe spoke only Spanish. Unable to communicate through words, they relied on smiles, gestures, and the language of the heart. Against all odds, they fell deeply in love. Just a few months later, they were married-with a translator helping them exchange their wedding vows.
How does a love story like this happen?
The answer begins fifteen years before they ever met.
As a freshman in high school, Steve met Patricia Espino, a foreign exchange student from Mexico. Unknown to either of them at the time, Patricia would one day play a pivotal role in bringing Steve and her sister Guadalupe together.
Filled with faith, perseverance, adventure, and personal transformation, Love Conquers All is a journey through language barriers, cultural differences, sickness and health, trials and triumphs, loss and blessings. It is a testament to the power of uncommon love, proving that true soulmates can find each other despite any obstacle.
A heartfelt story of courage, destiny, and the belief that love truly does conquer all.
