Michigan Basketball enters the 2026-27 season with a different look, a different approach, and some important changes that could determine how far the Wolverines go this year.
In this episode of Go Blue Hoops, Tim McCormick compares this year’s Michigan Basketball team to last season’s Wolverines and breaks down the biggest differences in coaching, offensive strategy, player development, rebounding and three-point shooting.
One of the biggest changes is Mike Boynton as Head Coach. Tim explains how Boynton could impact Michigan’s offense, player development and overall approach this season.
The Wolverines also have new personnel who could change what this team does well. JP Estrella brings another presence on the offensive glass, while Michigan’s roster construction could give the Wolverines more shooting and different ways to score.

Michigan Basketball returns from its 2026 European Tour with plenty to break down — from Trey McKenney and Elliot Cadeau’s emergence to Brandon McCoy Jr.’s season-ending ACL injury and what the Wolverines learned about their roster before the 2026–27 college basketball season.
On this episode of Go Blue Hoops, Tim McCormick breaks down Michigan’s three-game European trip, including the Wolverines’ performances against international competition, player development, lineup combinations and the strengths that could make Michigan a contender at the top of the Big Ten.
