Beschreibung

Suchness: Thoughts from the Room | Soheit: Gedanken aus dem Raum
2026/10/22
“You can’t do that”: a sentence from the past may return as a thought. Part 3 of The Big Bang Meditation centres on perceiving such mental events. What perceives the breath, the body and memories is given the name “suchness”. Beginning with at least one minute of conscious, deep abdominal breathing, the practice described moves towards perceiving the breath, the body and, finally, the thoughts that arise. Another image enters: limiting words can be regarded as mental elements drifting through the room. In the speaker’s account, this can increasingly loosen identification with them; the practice remains a recommendation, not a command. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves, just in a different “mind-body” guise.
The I-Particle: Your Chance at the Nobel Prize in Physics! / Das Ich-Teilchen: Deine Chance auf den Physiknobelpreis!
2026/10/20
There's a free online event every Friday covering a different topic. Zenyorim would love for you to join us! The online intensive program, "From the Meditation Cushion to Everyday Life: Finding Inner Peace in the Midst of Daily Life," is coming soon. Space is limited. The audio is in German; the English description is below. A Nobel Prize in Physics for finding the I-particle? The search begins with something we name dozens of times a day ... yet cannot locate: the “I.” A table, the body in a mirror and the question of where one thing begins and ends lead toward understanding ourselves as part of the universe. The speaker says he considers this already scientifically established, while allowing everyone a different opinion. The inquiry then becomes practical: meeting others without judgment, letting thoughts be perceived rather than driven away, and becoming familiar with the natural state of body and mind through meditation without fixation. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
Mindfulness: Perceiving Instead of Reacting Automatically / Urwachheit: Wahrnehmen statt automatisch reagieren

Zenyorim would love for you to join us! The online intensive program, "From the Meditation Cushion to Everyday Life: Finding Inner Peace in the Midst of Daily Life," is coming soon. Space is limited. The audio is in German; the English description is below. One cyclist brushes against another ... and a thought becomes anger, then an insult. What changes when the mind simply perceives? Urwachheit, or primal wakefulness, is introduced as our natural state, already present rather than something to acquire. The speaker describes greatly reduced automatic reactions, not their complete disappearance, alongside non-grasping. The practice is concrete: at least three sessions of at least three minutes each day, closing the eyes and observing abdominal breathing. A late-night conversation with Rinpoche brings a vivid image of thought: a spray of perfume spreading into the surrounding space. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
The Path to Inner Peace / Der Weg zu innerem Frieden

Zenyorim would love for you to join us! The online intensive program, "From the Meditation Cushion to Everyday Life: Finding Inner Peace in the Midst of Daily Life," is coming soon. Space is limited. The audio is in German; the English description is below. Peace while meditating ... but what happens when we open our eyes and return to the day? The first principle begins with the calm experienced through observing the breath: become familiar with it, explore its qualities and extend it into everyday activities. The speaker recounts Rinpoche’s understanding of suffering as the sum of our dissatisfactions and of meditative peace as the state awakened people sustain throughout daily life. Conscious abdominal breathing provides the starting point; brushing the teeth, drinking coffee and speaking with colleagues become occasions to explore that familiarity beyond formal meditation. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
Compassion and Presence: Our Influence on Others / Mitgefühl und Präsenz: Unser Einfluss auf andere
2026/10/13
Twenty years in prison... how could happiness be possible at the moment of hearing that verdict? A remembered conversation with a teacher takes the question to a hospital bedside: terminal cancer, unbearable pain, no visitors. In the teacher’s answer, attention turns toward the doctor, compassion and the joy of giving something back. An imagined cloud with the word “you” then opens an exploration of the thoughts that separate us. The speaker connects experiencing unity with greater influence on others and asks what meditation should bring to the hours when we are not meditating. The audio is in English. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
Peace in Prison: Recognizing Our Continual Renewal / Frieden im Gefängnis: Unsere ständige Erneuerung erkennen
2026/10/06
Twenty years in prison, and only three weeks have passed. How could happiness be possible here? Water, ice and steam introduce a reflection on continual change: are we still the person who received the sentence? The speaker connects recognizing renewal with mindfulness, compassion, gratitude and using the time for self-realization, perhaps by writing at least one book. He also expresses his conviction that profound inner transformation leads to earlier release, grounding it in his understanding of cause and effect, not scientific proof. Five years rather than twenty is his example, not a promised timetable. The central point: newness need not be forced into existence; it is already present. The audio is in English. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
Perceiving Our Own Essence: The Big Bang Meditation / Wahrnehmung der eigenen Essenz: Die Urknall-Meditation
2026/09/29
The audio is in German; the English description is below. What perceives the breath, the body, a thought? The Big Bang Meditation begins with this question and turns toward imagining that everything is new, including ourselves. Writing on a sheet of paper and erasing it illustrates change and what remains as a memory. The final step imagines living in another body tomorrow, under different conditions. The speaker connects this image with focusing on today and letting go of expectations about the results of our goals. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
The Big Bang Meditation / Die Urknall-Meditation
2026/09/29
The audio is in German; the English description is below. Imagine that the Big Bang happened just before you woke up: everything is new, including you and the people around you! The Big Bang Meditation connects this image with asking what perceives the body, the breath and thoughts. The speaker recalls how conversations with Rinpoche and his own inward complaints led to the practice. Joy in life, self-doubt and memories are central to the reflection: memories need not be eliminated; the emphasis is on perceiving them as thoughts rather than identifying with them. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
Thoughts Are Like Children at Play / Gedanken sind wie spielende Kinder
2026/09/29
The audio is in German; the English description is below. Must the mind be free of thoughts before we can experience peace? Imagine sitting on a bench; families arrive and children begin to play. Must they leave again before inner peace becomes possible? The image introduces a way of allowing thoughts to be present while attention stays with the activity at hand. The speaker connects focusing on today with letting go of results and asks: if today could be the last day, which habits would we want to continue, and would we want to carry them out exactly as before? P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
What My Mentor Said When I Began Judging Others / Das sagte mein Mentor, als ich anfing, über andere zu urteilen
2026/09/29
The audio is in German; the English description is below. What right do we have to judge another person? While working in a monastery garden, the speaker begins judging a Zen teacher he has seen in a video. What he has not noticed is that his own mentor is present. The conversation with Rinpoche later that day leaves an image and two questions: what would we say if that person were standing just around the corner? How do we recognize a negative judgment, and what do we do on the borderline? P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
UNITY: Increase Your Influence Through Compassion / UNITY: Erhöhe deine Einflussnahme durch Mitgefühl
2026/09/29
The audio is in German; the English description is below. Twenty years in prison: how could happiness be possible even on hearing that verdict? The question leads to a remembered conversation with Rinpoche and another situation: serious illness, unbearable pain, no visitors. In the teacher’s answer, the encounter with the doctor, compassion and the joy of giving something back become central. An imagined cloud containing the word “you” then introduces separation through thought. The speaker connects experiencing unity with increasing influence on others and attentiveness after meditation. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
UNITY: Peace in Prison / UNITY: Frieden im Gefängnis
2026/09/29
The audio is in German; the English description is below. Three weeks in prison; twenty years lie ahead. How could happiness be possible here? Water, ice and steam introduce a reflection on change and interconnectedness. Are we still the person who received the sentence? The speaker connects this question with meditation, compassion, gratitude and the conviction that inner transformation leads to earlier release. Yet even five years is still five years: how might they be used for self-realization, perhaps by writing at least one book? The central emphasis is on recognizing the newness already present rather than forcing it into existence. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
UNITY: Happy at the Pronouncement of the Verdict / Glücklich bei der Urteilsverkündung
2026/09/19
The audio is in English first, followed by German. Twenty years in prison. The verdict is pronounced, and thoughts rush in: the future is over, life is ruined. But must this moment be experienced that way? This thought experiment takes us into the courtroom: to the chair beneath us, our own body and the people before us. What does it mean to be truly present here? Mindfulness, meditation and compassion are at the heart of asking how happiness could be possible even while hearing such a verdict. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
The Meaning of Life: Arriving in Life / Der Sinn des Lebens: Im Leben ankommen
2026/09/19
The audio is in English first, followed by German. Achieve something... and then something more? Or arrive in life, drop anchor? Two paths stand side by side. But what does arriving mean when thoughts have already moved on to the next phone call, business lunch or task? The point here is not to fight thoughts or make them disappear, but to notice them without identifying with them. And then comes the question: what is this “achieving” in the first place? P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves—just in a different “mind-body” guise.
The Space of Observation: Mindfulness and Our Influence / Der Raum der Beobachtung: Achtsamkeit und unser Einfluss
2026/09/10
The audio is in English. Recognize a thought, then let it drift by ... this is the purpose of meditation explored here. Two pictures of the same counselling session move from irritation to joy, with a compassionate meditation break between them. These imagined scenes express the speaker’s conviction that our influence on our surroundings grows as we become more mindful. P.S.: Let’s keep this in mind: The “others” are actually ourselves, just in a different “mind-body” guise.
