Minnesota Timberwolves: Ant 45, Kuminga, TJ, and Ayo Shine, Wolves Own the Boards | 3-0 Recap
2026/10/26
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 3-0 and teh vibes are good. Anthony Edwards opened the season with 45 points and 10 rebounds in a blowout win over the Miami Heat, the Wolves won ugly in Orlando with seven players in double figures, and they ran the Toronto Raptors out of Target Center in the home opener. We get into Jonathan Kuminga guarding Giannis, Ayo Dosunmu making his case for Sixth Man of the Year, Joan Beringer and Terrence Shannon Jr. improving every game, and how a smaller Wolves team became the best rebounding team in the NBA. In Stat Chat, we break down the Ant and LaMelo Ball on/off numbers: a +40.3 net rating together, and whether Chris Finch should keep staggering them. One Big Thing looks at the early Western Conference picture, including the Jalen Williams injury in OKC, the Rockets’ hot start, the Spurs and Nuggets, plus the 0-3 Knicks and where former Wolves Julius Randle, Naz Reid, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are landing. In Howl or Foul, we decide if the Wolves clear their Vegas win total of 48.5, make our picks for a week against the Cavs, Warriors, Clippers, and Spurs, and share the stat of the week: the top five players in the NBA in plus-minus are all Timberwolves. Plus some love for Jaden McDaniels’ midrange game and the new jerseys. Helping the Pack: this week we shout out the In Sports Foundation. Learn more at dadsanddunks.com. Minnesota Timberwolves: LaMelo Is Here and the Bench Is Loaded? Season Preview + Predictions
2026/10/20
Tom and Josh shake off the offseason rust and get back on the mic as the Minnesota Timberwolves tip off a new season. And this one is all listener questions. They run a snake draft of the most anticipated games on the schedule, from the Kevin Garnett jersey retirement against the Celtics to the Spurs revenge game, OKC on Christmas, and Naz Reid’s first trip back to Target Center with the Hornets. Howl or Foul returns with your takes: do the Wolves come out of the West, is this the deepest and most talented roster in franchise history, and does Jaden McDaniels make the All-Star team? They also get into KG’s return to the franchise, Joan Beringer’s backup center minutes, Jonathan Kuminga’s three-point shooting, LaMelo Ball’s health, and grade an offseason that sent out Julius Randle and Naz Reid to bring in LaMelo. Then it’s final calls on the record: the 47.5 win total, playoff seeding, MVP picks, Anthony Edwards’ season high, LaMelo triple-doubles, and whether Rudy Gobert finally hits a three. Minnesota Timberwolves: Jonathan Kuminga Signs With Minnesota | Emergency Pod
2026/08/27
The Wolves signed Jonathan Kuminga and we had to hop on for an emergency pod. Tom is jet-lagged after nine days in Europe. Josh did not think there was any chance Minnesota landed him. Minnesota got a 23-year-old starting-caliber power forward for the taxpayer mid-level exception, roughly $6.1 million, and outrecruited the Lakers to do it. Now they have to shed salary to get under the second apron. We get into the hype level, the fit next to LaMelo and Ant, whether he is actually a better defender than his reputation, the waive and stretch on Josh Green and what dead money does to the next three years, Ayo Dosunmu coming off the bench, and where all of this puts the Wolves in the West. Minnesota Timberwolves: We Talk Ant Man, LaMelo, Rudy, TSJ and Techs | The Over/Under Show
2026/08/08
Tom and Josh run a full over/under board on the 2026-27 Minnesota Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards ' three-pointers made per game at 3.4. Ant games played at 68.5. Rudy Gobert at 10.9 points per game and 55.5 games played as a Wolf, which is really a trade deadline question. LaMelo Ball at 72.5 games, 7.1 assists, 272 threes made, and 28 minutes per game. Jaden McDaniels scoring over or under his career high of 14.8. Terrence Shannon Jr. at 9.5 points. Joan Beringer at 20.5 minutes per game, plus what the defense actually looks like when Gobert sits. Then the big one. The Wolves win total at 49.5. Tom says the line is a joke and puts them at 54. Josh says 48 to 49 in a deeper, more competitive West. They close with the Philadelphia 76ers win total, Joel Embiid's health, and whether an aging LeBron James changes anything in the East. No Julius Randle. No Naz Reid. No Mike Conley. Donte DiVincenzo out for most or all of the year. There are a lot of shots available. Who takes them? Josh does the whole episode without a voice. MJ flu game. Your to the point Wolves talk podcast. Go Wolves. #Timberwolves #NBA #AnthonyEdwards #LaMeloBall #DadsAndDunks
Minnesota Timberwolves: LeBron James Free Agency Fit + LaMelo Ball Introductory Press Conference
2026/07/15
LeBron James still has not decided, and the Minnesota Timberwolves still have a hole at power forward shaped exactly like him. Tom and Josh dig into LeBron James's free-agent fit and why Cleveland, Miami, and Golden State each ask him to do something he cannot really do anymore. Harden and Donovan Mitchell are going to eat more possessions than Ant and LaMelo ever would. Giannis and Bam cannot shoot, so Miami has to grind out every ugly game. Golden State is assembling the senior Olympics roster and banking on Anthony Davis staying healthy. Meanwhile, all the Wolves have left to offer is a minimum, which is pennies compared to what he is worth, and he fills the one hole they actually have. Tom is a homer and says so out loud. He also does not think the Wolves are getting him. Then the LaMelo Ball introductory press conference, which was mostly boring except for the parts that were not. Tim Connelly looked like he needed to run to the bathroom the entire time. Asked what hurt most in the trade, he did not say the first-round pick. He said Naz. LaMelo got asked if he watches Olivia Miles and said, "She cold," which she is. Also, his on-court personality did not match his presser personality at all. Summer League gets a reality check. Joan Beringer looked like a real NBA rotation player in the one game he played before back tightness sat him, and he is progressing exactly the way you hope a young big progresses. Everyone else, not so much. Rocco Zikarsky is almost as tall as Wemby but cannot move like Wemby. Isaiah Evans has not hit a three yet, though the late trade earns him some grace. Zyon Pullin might be the best-looking player on that floor, not named Beringer. Plus Terrence Shannon Jr. cashing in on the number one jersey, Josh Green quietly posting one of the best on-off net ratings in the league, the Jaylen Brown trade that makes no sense for Boston, Giannis to Miami, the Kawhi aspiration mess holding up Toronto, the Lakers overpaying for Walker Kessler, and where the Wolves land in a wide open Western Conference. Minnesota Timberwolves: Naz Reid Is Gone, LaMelo Ball Is Here, and We Are Buying Ant and Rudy Stock
2026/06/26
This one hurts and thrills in equal measure. We lost Naz Reid. The towels, the undrafted-to-Sixth-Man-of-the-Year story, the fan favorite who filled the arena and our hearts. We are not okay about it, and we are keeping every piece of Naz memorabilia we own. But then LaMelo Ball walked through the door, and we are going all in on Anthony Edwards and Rudy Gobert. Buy, buy, buy. Ant finally gets a 6'8" point guard who pulls the double team off him and swings it back for a clean look. Rudy finally gets a lead guard who throws lobs he can actually catch and runs real pick-and-roll. We came in mourning and left grinning ear to ear. We break it all down: the Julius Randle salary dump, sliding 28 to 33 for Isaiah Evans, and the LaMelo and Josh Green blockbuster. Where LaMelo ranks among NBA point guards, the durability and defense worries we are not ignoring, and why the second timeline starts right now. Two feelings at the same time, and honestly, we have never been more excited about this team. Pour one out for Naz. Then come dream with us. Go Wolves. LaMelo Ball trade, Naz Reid Hornets, Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Timberwolves offseason, NBA trade reaction.

Minnesota Timberwolves: Wemby vs Rudy, Ant's Status, and How the Wolves Beat the Spurs
2026/05/01
Wolves are moving on. Tom and Josh preview Round 2 against the San Antonio Spurs. In this episode: What changes when you go from the worst rim protection in the league (Denver) to one of the best (Wemby and the Spurs). Whether the downhill attack that buried the Nuggets still works against San Antonio. Rudy Gobert vs Victor Wembanyama and what that matchup could look like. Ant's status and what the rotation looks like if he's still managing the knee. How Bones and Conley hold up against Spurs guard pressure. Why the every-other-day turnaround favors or hurts the Wolves. Our prediction.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Shorthanded Wolves Cook Denver in Game 6, Jaden Drops 32, Rudy Breaks Jokic's Soul
2026/05/01
The Wolves are moving on. Tom and Josh break down a Game 6 win in Minneapolis that had no business happening on paper. No Anthony Edwards. No Donte DiVincenzo. No Ayo Dosunmu. No Slo Mo. And the Wolves still ran Denver out of Target Center 110-98 to close the series. In this episode: Jaden McDaniels' legacy game (career-high 32 points, 10 boards, 3 assists, zero turnovers in 45 minutes) and the Jamal Murray lockdown job that came with it. Terrence Shannon Jr.'s breakout (24 points, 6 boards, zero turnovers in 35 minutes) and what an Ant–TJ–Ayo athletic core looks like going forward. Rudy Gobert as our Dads and Dunks Series MVP for what he did to Jokic across six games. Naz showing up when the Wolves needed scoring depth. Mike Conley keeping it together with 95 percent of the guard minutes unavailable. Why Denver should be in full panic mode about the Christian Braun extension and the David Adelman experience. Then a quick look ahead to the Spurs. Wemby in the paint changes everything about how the Wolves will try to score, and we get into it on the next pod as we drop our first-ever double header. Spurs preview pod is up next!
Timberwolves vs Nuggets Game 4: Ayo Dosunmu Drops 43, Wolves Take 3-1 Lead Despite Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo Injuries | NBA Playoffs Recap
2026/04/27
Minnesota Timberwolves vs Denver Nuggets Game 4 recap. Wolves win 112-96 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead in the first round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs, but the night came with major injuries. Donte DiVincenzo suffered an Achilles tear two minutes into the game and is out for the remainder of the playoffs and most of next season. Anthony Edwards hyperextended his left knee in the second quarter, diagnosed as a bone bruise with no ligament damage, out weeks, not months... hopefully. Aaron Gordon played hobbled and looked finished in 23 minutes. Then Ayo Dosunmu took over. Career-high 43 points on 13-of-17 shooting, 5-of-5 from three, 12-of-12 from the free throw line, 42 minutes. Jaden McDaniels is breaking Jokic. What to watch in Game 5 Monday night at 9:30 PM CT in Denver: the new starting lineup without Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo, Mike Conley likely sliding in, the 70 minutes that need redistribution, the chippy series energy heading into a hostile altitude road game, and the Wolves in 5 vs Wolves in 6 prediction.
Timberwolves 113, Nuggets 96: Jaden McDaniels Sets the Tone, Ayo Dosunmu Drops 25, Wolves in 5?
2026/04/24
Wolves take a 2-1 series lead with a statement Game 3 win at Target Center, 113-96. Tom and Josh break down the blowout on the first-ever instant reaction Fast Break pod. Jaden McDaniels backed up his postgame comments from Game 2 with 20 points, 10 rebounds, a block, and 41 minutes of setting the tone. Ayo Dosunmu erupted off the bench for 25 points and 9 assists on 66.7% shooting. Rudy Gobert held Jokic and the Nuggets to 9 points on 4-of-12 shooting as the primary defender, added 10 and 12 with 3 blocks, and went +18. DDV stayed plus-20 again. The Wolves dropped 66 points in the paint, past the 62-point threshold where Denver was 1-9 this season. Wolves shot 26% from three and still won by 17. We get into the Jaden tone-setter, Ayo as the story of the game, Rudy flowers part three, Ant's foul trouble, the Scott Foster officiating, the Wolves in 5 chant, Aaron Gordon's absence, and what to look for in Game 4 Saturday night at Target Center.
Timberwolves Steal Game 2 in Denver: Ant Gutted It Out, Rudy Battled Jokic, and DDV Closed the Door
2026/04/21
Series tied 1-1. The Wolves flipped a 19-point hole in Denver and stole Game 2 on the road, 119-114. Tom and Josh break it down: Anthony Edwards grinding out 30 and 10 on a bad knee, Julius Randle's massive bounce-back game (24-9-6 on 17 shots), Donte DiVincenzo going plus-20 with four catch-and-shoot threes and a game-sealing dunk, and Rudy Gobert holding Jokic to 1-of-8 with Rudy on the floor. Plus the coaching chess match: non-Rudy minutes that actually worked, Finch's new bench anchor lineup with Naz, Bones, Slo Mo, DDV, and Ayo, and the Ant-and-Ayo-on-ball wrinkle that freed DDV for clean looks. Full-court pressure at the logo. Jaden McDaniels calling out the Nuggets defense postgame. The third-quarter scare when it felt like the game was slipping away. Series heads back to Target Center for Game 3 Thursday night. Black out the building. Go Wolves.
Game 1: Murray's Free Throw Parade, Rudy Steps Up, Ant Shakes Off The Rust (DEN 116, MIN 105)
2026/04/20
Game 1 is in the books, and Tom and Josh are calling an audible for the playoffs: 15 to 25-minute drops after every game. Denver takes the opener 116-105, and there's a lot to unpack. First, the officiating. Jamal Murray shot 16 for 16 from the line. The Wolves as a team shot 19. We get into the uneven whistle, the Jaden flagrant, the Jokic-McDaniels scrum, and why Murray's free-throw rate was way above his season norm. Then the basketball. Rudy Gobert's best playoff game since the Lakers' closeout, a finishing package we haven't seen, and hands active on Jokic. Ant looked rusty and maybe not 100 percent on the knee. Julius had a rough night on both ends. Naz is still not himself with his shoulder. Jaden brought a first quarter. DDV and Ayo hustled. Plus, the lineup that broke the second quarter. Why Finch rolled out Conley, Slo Mo, Ayo, Bones, and Naz together with a 10-point lead is beyond us. Pace dropped to 13 percent transition (season average 18), and Denver erased the cushion. Game 2 is Monday, 9:30 Central. We think the Wolves steal it.
Playoff Preview: Full Bracket Predictions, Wolves vs. Nuggets Breakdown, and Our Championship Pick
2026/04/15
The regular season is done and the Wolves are locked in as the six seed headed to face Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets. Today we do something a little different. A quick season in review, the Denver matchup broken down, Ant in the playoffs, the Rudy/Slo Mo/Jokic rotation puzzle, play-in predictions for both conferences, every first-round pick, and a full bracket all the way to the NBA Finals. We crowned a champion...and you'll never guess who! Go Wolves.
Minnesota Timberwolves: Ant and Jaden Are Banged Up... Is It Time to Panic Before the Playoffs?
2026/04/07
The Wolves go 1-3 this week, and it is not great. Tom took his five-year-old, Julien, to his first Wolves game on Easter Sunday against Charlotte -- spoiler, they left at halftime, and it was the right call. We break down the week, talk about what Ant and Jaden being hurt actually means heading into a first-round matchup with Denver, dig into the stat that shows Ant elevates against the best teams while Rudy quietly does the opposite, and close out with KG returning to Target Center on April 12th for the first time since 2018. Meaningless game. Still a sellout. Still a Howl.
