Cut Through the Noise: What Women Really Need to Know About Fitness & Nutrition
2026/09/29
What does it really take to get stronger, healthier, and more confident as we get older?
On this episode of Fit For Radio, I’m joined by Jane Keudell, founder of Thrive Nutrition & Fitness, to talk about her journey from competitive athlete to mom of two, and ultimately to helping women navigate the often-confusing world of fitness and nutrition.
We get into strength training, nutrition, aging, body image, and the endless stream of conflicting advice women are bombarded with every day. Jane also shares why she believes getting healthy doesn't have to mean extreme diets, endless cardio, or giving up the foods and activities you love.
It’s a conversation about getting stronger, cutting through the noise, and finding an approach to health and fitness that actually works in real life.
From 23 Years on the Radio to an Ambulance
2026/09/22
It’s hard to believe it’s been a full year since Drew’s life changed forever when he left radio after 23 years behind the microphone. In this episode of the Fit For Radio Podcast, Drew sits down with Tac to reflect on the last year, the unexpected challenges of leaving radio, reinventing himself, and everything that’s happened along the way.
The guys also get into the health scare that landed Drew in an ambulance and scared his wife half to death — a reminder that sometimes life can change in an instant.
And Tac has a new home behind the microphone! He’s now hosting The Dude Bro Show on Rad Radio DFW, an online station bringing back the feel of the great ’90s radio stations and plenty of your favorite ’90s hits. You can catch The Dude Bro Show every night from 6–9 PM.
If you’re looking to scratch that ’90s music itch, check it out at radradiodfw.com.
It’s a conversation about radio, friendship, health, change, and finding your next chapter when you least expect it.
He Was Told He Wasn’t Smart Enough — Then He Built a Business | Halsey Schider
2026/09/15
Halsey Schider grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where being active was simply part of his DNA. He played football, rode bikes and skied before eventually becoming a professional helicopter pilot by the age of 20. But while building a successful career in aviation, Halsey was also quietly battling alcoholism.
In this powerful conversation on the Fit For Radio Podcast, Halsey opens up about a journey that includes addiction, sobriety, fitness, entrepreneurship, fatherhood and mental health.
Diagnosed with a learning disability as a child and placed in special classes throughout middle and high school, Halsey grew up carrying the assumption that he simply wasn't very smart. It wasn't until he became an entrepreneur that he began to understand that his brain wasn't lacking—it simply learned differently. That realization helped reshape how he viewed himself and what he was capable of accomplishing.
Halsey also gets candid about his struggle with alcohol. While becoming a professional helicopter pilot in his 20s, he was simultaneously becoming an alcoholic. After years of struggling to control his drinking, he quit alcohol and tobacco cold turkey at 30. He credits sobriety with changing the trajectory of his life and opening the door to everything that came afterward.
Fitness became another outlet. After getting sober, Halsey redirected his addictive personality toward food and exercise, eventually going from barely running a mile to routinely running 15-plus miles. But he eventually learned that sustainability matters more than being hardcore. Today, he runs, strength trains and focuses on consistency rather than perfection.
That mindset has carried into his business life. Halsey is now the CEO of Sellacopter and North American Aircraft Brokerage, helping buyers and sellers navigate aircraft transactions from negotiation and purchase agreements through escrow, inspections and closing. He also hosts The Helicopter Podcast, interviewing people throughout the aviation industry.
And perhaps most importantly, Halsey opens up about where he is today. Married since his 20s and now the father of a 14-month-old daughter, Aubrey, Halsey talks openly about the challenges of fatherhood, the IVF journey that preceded it, and the impact this new chapter has had on his mental health.
It's an honest conversation about redefining yourself, overcoming the labels other people put on you, getting sober, finding balance, and understanding that mental and physical health aren't destinations—they're ongoing journeys.
This is a story about finding out who you really are when you stop letting other people define you.
From Jiu-Jitsu World Champion to Empowering Women
2026/09/08
From the World of Elite Jiu-Jitsu to Empowering Women Through Self-Defense
Peter Iacavazzi’s story is one of discipline, reinvention, and an unwavering commitment to helping others become stronger—both physically and mentally.
Born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Peter grew up surrounded by athletics. His father was a Heisman Trophy nominee, an All-American football player at Princeton, and an NFL player. Peter followed his own athletic path, competing in wrestling and football while also training in martial arts.
In 1985, Peter attended the University of Montana, where he fell in love with the state and knew Montana would eventually become home.
His journey would take him far from Montana for a time. From 1992 to 2000, Peter lived in New York City and Hermosa Beach, California, building a successful career in print, modeling, and acting. While living in Southern California, he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—and it would change the trajectory of his life.
Peter earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 2003 and went on to become a highly accomplished competitor, winning multiple World, Pan-American, National, and European titles at the black-belt level.
In 2000, Peter was introduced to Naval Special Warfare and began teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling to several Navy SEAL teams. That experience launched a two-decade career training military personnel and law enforcement officers in military combatives and defensive tactics.
But perhaps Peter's most meaningful work came from his introduction in 2002 to a specialized women's self-defense program known as Rape Escape. Peter eventually renamed and developed the program into A Fighting Chance, which he has taught successfully throughout the United States and in several countries around the world.
Peter is also a published author who has written for major outdoor and archery hunting magazines. Today, his primary focus is teaching his women's self-defense program, personal coaching, and speaking around the world about one of the central themes of his life: motivation versus discipline.
He is also working on a special project with country music superstar Ty Herndon.
From the wrestling mats of New Jersey to the world stage of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, from training elite military and law-enforcement personnel to empowering women to protect themselves, Peter Iacavazzi has built a life around one powerful idea: strength isn't something you're simply born with—it’s something you develop through discipline, preparation, and the willingness to keep pushing forward.
On this episode of Fit For Radio, Drew sits down with Peter to talk about his incredible journey, the difference between motivation and discipline, what it takes to perform at an elite level, and why giving someone the confidence and skills to protect themselves can be one of the most powerful things you can teach.

2026/08/25

Terry Tucker has spent more than a decade answering that question through resilience, purpose and an unwavering commitment to living an extraordinary life. A former Cincinnati police officer, undercover narcotics officer and SWAT hostage negotiator, Terry was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2012 and has since endured multiple amputations while continuing to inspire others through his writing and speaking. Inside the Peptide Craze with Lovely Laban
2026/08/18
Let’s try to get our heads around peptides. What exactly are they, why is everyone suddenly talking about them, which ones actually have legitimate science behind them, what are the safety concerns, and perhaps most importantly — how should people go about getting them safely?
To help us make sense of the peptide craze, Drew sits down with Lovely Laban, founder and medical director of Skin by Lovely. Lovely has spent more than 20 years in medical aesthetics and built Skin by Lovely into a multi-location practice known for its focus on education, safety and natural-looking results.
But Lovely’s story starts long before Botox, injectables and the world of aesthetic medicine. Raised in a progressive Pacific Northwest community centered around natural living, she grew up watching her mother care for others as the community nurse. That experience helped put her on the path toward nursing, gerontology and eventually founding Skin by Lovely in 2009.
So what is driving the huge push toward peptides, longevity and regenerative medicine? Are peptides the next big thing in healthy aging, or has the internet gotten way ahead of the science? And how can the average person separate legitimate medical treatment from the latest wellness trend?
Lovely helps us break it all down — what peptides are, what they may actually do, what questions you should be asking, and how to approach this rapidly evolving world safely.
It’s a fascinating conversation about aging, longevity, beauty, wellness and the science behind the latest health trend everyone seems to be talking about.
From Shark Tank to SpaceX: The Unbelievable Story of Dr. Rob Yonover
2026/08/11
Dr. Robert Yonover has lived a life that sounds almost impossible to fit into one story.
A Ph.D. geochemist and volcanologist, Dr. Yonover is also an inventor, big-wave surfer, fisherman, husband, father, caregiver, and widower. For 19 years, he cared for his paralyzed wife while raising two young children and simultaneously trying to build a business around his invention. We talk openly about the financial, mental, physical, and social challenges that came with carrying all of those responsibilities at once.
We also dive into the incredible journey behind his invention of the Sea Rescue Streamer — technology that has been adopted by the military, used around the world to save lives on land and in the ocean, featured on Shark Tank, and is even carried aboard SpaceX flights.
But Robert’s story doesn't stop with invention and innovation. We talk about losing his wife and learning how to navigate life as a widower, dating again, and finding a new identity after nearly two decades of caregiving.
And then there's the other side of Robert — the guy who trains to surf massive waves on Hawaii's North Shore.
From caregiving and grief to Shark Tank, SpaceX, scientific innovation, and riding some of the biggest waves on the planet, this is a conversation about resilience, reinvention, and what it takes to keep moving forward when life doesn't go according to plan.

We talk about his unlikely path into the Blazers broadcast booth, the people and moments that helped shape his career, and what it really takes to build a life in sports broadcasting.
Inside the World of Audiodub | Dustin Finney
2026/07/28
When Dustin Finney first picked up a guitar after hearing Sublime in high school, he had no idea it would lead to decades of writing, recording, and performing music. In this episode of Fit For Radio, Drew sits down with the founder and lead singer of Audiodub to talk about the band's unlikely beginnings, the transition from a popular Sublime tribute band to creating original music, and the years spent balancing regular jobs with weekend tours across the West Coast.
Dustin shares stories from the road, the evolution of Audiodub over four albums, and how life has transformed both the band and his songwriting. Now a husband, father, and home studio producer, his latest album, Filter, explores family, authenticity, and the realities of growing older in a world that often looks much different online than it does in real life.
It's an honest conversation about creativity, perseverance, and why the best music often comes from simply living life.

From Hard Beginnings to an Unbreakable Bond
2026/07/07
What does it take to break generational patterns and build the life you want?
This week on Fit For Radio, Drew sits down with a guest whose journey proves that resilience isn't something you're born with—it's something you build. Raised by a single mother in Texas who worked multiple jobs to keep food on the table, he learned early that no one is coming to save you. Those lessons were reinforced by grandparents who raised six children in rural Mississippi and, through sacrifice, discipline, and an unwavering belief in education, helped every one of them earn a college degree.
Before finding success in marketing, he served in the Army and spent years delivering packages for FedEx, experiences that shaped his work ethic long before job titles ever mattered. But the biggest turning point in his life came through an unexpected adoption. Becoming a father transformed his understanding of empathy, purpose, and what it truly means to leave a legacy.
In this deeply personal conversation, we explore overcoming adversity, recognizing the "guardian angels" who appear when we need them most, the importance of showing up for your own life, and how our children often become our greatest teachers. We also discuss the book he's writing about healing, parenthood, and turning survival into a life of purpose.
If you've ever wondered how hardship can become your greatest strength, this is an episode you won't want to miss.
