On this episode of the Fit For Radio Podcast, Drew sits down with Hart Keene, a magician, mentalist, and illusionist who turned a passion for entertaining into a full-time career. But Hart’s journey to becoming one of the most sought-after performers in the Pacific Northwest didn’t happen overnight. He started at the grassroots level, performing at Applebee’s, sushi restaurants, and local eateries, learning his craft the old-fashioned way: one audience at a time. Before magic became his full-time profession, Hart was selling boats and chasing a dream that required years of hard work, persistence, and a willingness to start small. Hart shares what it takes to climb the ranks in the world of magic, how he developed his skills and reputation, and what it feels like to see years of dedication finally pay off. His story is a reminder that success rarely happens overnight, and sometimes the road to doing what you love starts in the most unexpected places. From selling boats to captivating audiences with mind-blowing magic, Hart Keene proves that with enough passion, perseverance, and a little bit of illusion, you can turn your dream into reality.

But behind the scenes, his life was falling apart after he became entangled in a destructive religious cult that ultimately cost him his marriage and devastated his relationships with his five children. At his lowest point, Peter struggled to eat, sleep, or get through the day without crying. With the help of friends, family, and his faith, he slowly began rebuilding his life and rediscovering his strength. Now, Peter shares his incredible story to help others recognize the warning signs of cults, understand how manipulative leaders gain control, and learn how to help loved ones who may be trapped in a similar situation. It's a powerful conversation about emotional and spiritual abuse, resilience, faith, and finding the strength to rebuild your life when you feel you've lost everything.

In this episode of Fit For Radio, Drew sits down with Chris and Nathan Platt, members of the Platt family behind TP Forever, to share the powerful story of Tony Platt, the loss that changed their family forever, and the incredible legacy that has grown from it. Chris and Nathan take us back to Tony’s childhood and the memories that made him who he was—a competitive athlete, dog lover, talented electrical engineer, devoted brother, and someone known for his incredible sense of humor. After college, Tony built a successful career, purchased a home with his brother, and was working toward his master’s degree. Then, in May 2012, Tony unexpectedly died in his sleep at just 30 years old, leaving his family searching for answers and trying to figure out how to move forward. In the aftermath of that loss, the Platt family created TP Forever, initially as a way to bring people together and continue Tony’s legacy of helping others. What began with a golf tournament in October 2012 eventually grew into efforts supporting the Oregon Humane Society and creating a scholarship in Tony’s honor. But over time, the family realized their mission was evolving. Beginning in 2016, TP Forever began shifting its focus toward what would become the Healing Project—a program designed to give families who have experienced the devastating loss of a loved one a safe place to come together, grieve, connect, and begin the healing process as a family. Inspired in part by a family trip to the beach following Tony’s death, the Healing Project initially partnered with the Dougy Center and hosted its first families in 2016. By around 2018, it had become the primary focus of TP Forever. Since then, the program has grown organically, eventually allowing the family to purchase its own property and provide retreats for more than 80 families—with a record number of applications this year. Chris and Nathan also explain how families can qualify for the Healing Project, what these retreats mean to the people who attend, and the many ways others can help keep Tony’s legacy alive through donations, volunteering, events and fundraising. To learn more about TP Forever, support the Healing Project, apply for the program, or get tickets to upcoming events—including the TP Forever Comedy Show on October 16th—visit tpforever.org.

Halsey Schider grew up in Lake Oswego, Oregon, where being active was simply part of his DNA. He played football, rode bikes and skied before eventually becoming a professional helicopter pilot by the age of 20. But while building a successful career in aviation, Halsey was also quietly battling alcoholism. In this powerful conversation on the Fit For Radio Podcast, Halsey opens up about a journey that includes addiction, sobriety, fitness, entrepreneurship, fatherhood and mental health. Diagnosed with a learning disability as a child and placed in special classes throughout middle and high school, Halsey grew up carrying the assumption that he simply wasn't very smart. It wasn't until he became an entrepreneur that he began to understand that his brain wasn't lacking—it simply learned differently. That realization helped reshape how he viewed himself and what he was capable of accomplishing. Halsey also gets candid about his struggle with alcohol. While becoming a professional helicopter pilot in his 20s, he was simultaneously becoming an alcoholic. After years of struggling to control his drinking, he quit alcohol and tobacco cold turkey at 30. He credits sobriety with changing the trajectory of his life and opening the door to everything that came afterward. Fitness became another outlet. After getting sober, Halsey redirected his addictive personality toward food and exercise, eventually going from barely running a mile to routinely running 15-plus miles. But he eventually learned that sustainability matters more than being hardcore. Today, he runs, strength trains and focuses on consistency rather than perfection. That mindset has carried into his business life. Halsey is now the CEO of Sellacopter and North American Aircraft Brokerage, helping buyers and sellers navigate aircraft transactions from negotiation and purchase agreements through escrow, inspections and closing. He also hosts The Helicopter Podcast, interviewing people throughout the aviation industry. And perhaps most importantly, Halsey opens up about where he is today. Married since his 20s and now the father of a 14-month-old daughter, Aubrey, Halsey talks openly about the challenges of fatherhood, the IVF journey that preceded it, and the impact this new chapter has had on his mental health. It's an honest conversation about redefining yourself, overcoming the labels other people put on you, getting sober, finding balance, and understanding that mental and physical health aren't destinations—they're ongoing journeys. This is a story about finding out who you really are when you stop letting other people define you.

From the World of Elite Jiu-Jitsu to Empowering Women Through Self-Defense Peter Iacavazzi’s story is one of discipline, reinvention, and an unwavering commitment to helping others become stronger—both physically and mentally. Born and raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Peter grew up surrounded by athletics. His father was a Heisman Trophy nominee, an All-American football player at Princeton, and an NFL player. Peter followed his own athletic path, competing in wrestling and football while also training in martial arts. In 1985, Peter attended the University of Montana, where he fell in love with the state and knew Montana would eventually become home. His journey would take him far from Montana for a time. From 1992 to 2000, Peter lived in New York City and Hermosa Beach, California, building a successful career in print, modeling, and acting. While living in Southern California, he discovered Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu—and it would change the trajectory of his life. Peter earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt in 2003 and went on to become a highly accomplished competitor, winning multiple World, Pan-American, National, and European titles at the black-belt level. In 2000, Peter was introduced to Naval Special Warfare and began teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling to several Navy SEAL teams. That experience launched a two-decade career training military personnel and law enforcement officers in military combatives and defensive tactics. But perhaps Peter's most meaningful work came from his introduction in 2002 to a specialized women's self-defense program known as Rape Escape. Peter eventually renamed and developed the program into A Fighting Chance, which he has taught successfully throughout the United States and in several countries around the world. Peter is also a published author who has written for major outdoor and archery hunting magazines. Today, his primary focus is teaching his women's self-defense program, personal coaching, and speaking around the world about one of the central themes of his life: motivation versus discipline. He is also working on a special project with country music superstar Ty Herndon. From the wrestling mats of New Jersey to the world stage of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, from training elite military and law-enforcement personnel to empowering women to protect themselves, Peter Iacavazzi has built a life around one powerful idea: strength isn't something you're simply born with—it’s something you develop through discipline, preparation, and the willingness to keep pushing forward. On this episode of Fit For Radio, Drew sits down with Peter to talk about his incredible journey, the difference between motivation and discipline, what it takes to perform at an elite level, and why giving someone the confidence and skills to protect themselves can be one of the most powerful things you can teach.

Let’s try to get our heads around peptides. What exactly are they, why is everyone suddenly talking about them, which ones actually have legitimate science behind them, what are the safety concerns, and perhaps most importantly — how should people go about getting them safely? To help us make sense of the peptide craze, Drew sits down with Lovely Laban, founder and medical director of Skin by Lovely. Lovely has spent more than 20 years in medical aesthetics and built Skin by Lovely into a multi-location practice known for its focus on education, safety and natural-looking results. But Lovely’s story starts long before Botox, injectables and the world of aesthetic medicine. Raised in a progressive Pacific Northwest community centered around natural living, she grew up watching her mother care for others as the community nurse. That experience helped put her on the path toward nursing, gerontology and eventually founding Skin by Lovely in 2009. So what is driving the huge push toward peptides, longevity and regenerative medicine? Are peptides the next big thing in healthy aging, or has the internet gotten way ahead of the science? And how can the average person separate legitimate medical treatment from the latest wellness trend? Lovely helps us break it all down — what peptides are, what they may actually do, what questions you should be asking, and how to approach this rapidly evolving world safely. It’s a fascinating conversation about aging, longevity, beauty, wellness and the science behind the latest health trend everyone seems to be talking about.

When Dustin Finney first picked up a guitar after hearing Sublime in high school, he had no idea it would lead to decades of writing, recording, and performing music.
