Description

Have you been wanting to launch your podcast for the past couple of years, but would quickly get lost in the sea of information and scrap that project once again, promising yourself you'd get to it the following year? I see you. You're a solopreneur, and you want — and need — to be efficient with your time and precious with your energy, which means being strategic with your marketing efforts. And this is where this podcast comes in. "Podcasting for Solopreneurs" is a simple, straightforward, and friendly guide to podcasting for solopreneurs, especially coaches, mentors, and educators with service-based businesses designed to help them start their podcasts and make it their main marketing channel for attracting high-quality leads and clients. So, if you're done spinning your wheels on social media, thinking about what to post next, and getting frustrated at the very thought of putting your thoughts online, welcome. Consider this your sign. Launch that podcast. I, your host, Anja Lordanić, have been in the podcasting space for the past 5+ years and have tried it all — from co-hosting a show, recording in two languages, conducting 80+ interviews, to now recording an educational podcast whose main goal is to help solopreneurs launch their podcasts and quickly get over the hurdles it took me ages to overcome. Here are some questions you might be asking yourself right now: 1. I want to start a podcast—but where do I actually begin? 2. Is it too late to start? Are there already too many podcasts? 3. Would anyone listen if I don’t already have an audience? 4. What should my podcast be about—and how specific should I get? 5. Should I record solo, find a co-host, or interview guests? 6. Do I need video, or can an audio-only podcast still work? 7. What equipment do I actually need? 8. How much will starting—and running—a podcast cost? 9. How much time will this take every week? 10. How long should my episodes be, and how often should I publish? 11. What do I say when I press record? 12. How do I record, edit, and get my podcast onto Spotify and Apple Podcasts? 13. How many episodes should I have ready before I launch? 14. How will people discover my podcast? 15. Can this podcast make money or help me get clients? And every Tuesday, I answer them for you. Tune in for quick, digestible, and easy-to-apply episodes and podcasting tips and strategies that will move you along your podcasting journey fast, with ease, and with a life-first approach. (Toddlers, anyone?) Don't let 2 more years pass you by. Instead, let's do it now.

Starting a Podcast When You're Afraid of Being Judged (Embrace the Cringe)

(And don't forget to enter the coupon "MENTOR" for $50 off your first and every subsequent month!) ------------------ Fear of judgment can make starting a podcast feel far more complicated than pressing record. If you’re a solopreneur or freelancer worrying about who might hear your first episode, I know how tempting it is to keep hiding until you feel more confident. I’ve done plenty of hiding myself. And even now, showing up online still means making decisions that don’t always feel comfortable. In this episode, I’m talking honestly about being a beginner in public, feeling awkward about putting yourself out there, and the weight we give other people’s opinions. I’m also sharing what my Instagram account, with its very modest 170 followers, has taught me about confidence, connection, and what actually matters to my business. I explore: Why being seen trying can feel so uncomfortable. How audience numbers get tangled up with our sense of worth. What changes when I think differently about who’s listening. If you’ve been holding back because starting a podcast feels exposing, I hope this conversation helps you see your next recording differently. I can’t promise that the fear of putting yourself out there will disappear. But I want to help you feel less alone in it, question whose opinions deserve so much space, and give your message a chance to reach someone. ------------------ 🎧 Grab your free audio training here! Letting Go of Perfectionism to Finally Start Your Podcast (Podcasting Mindset Tips)
2026/10/20
🎙️ Ready to have a podcasting mentor in your pocket? Join me here! (And don't forget to enter the coupon "MENTOR" for $50 off your first and every subsequent month!) ------------------ How much longer will you wait before you let yourself start a podcast? In this episode, I’m talking about podcast perfectionism and the exhausting feeling that there’s always one more thing to fix before you’re ready. Maybe it’s your voice, your accent, or the way you stumble over your words. Maybe you keep recording practice episodes, only to find another reason they aren’t quite good enough to publish. I know that feeling. I spent two years convincing myself I couldn’t podcast in English, then another two hiding behind other experts in an interview-only show. I had plenty to say, but I kept questioning whether I was the right person to say it. I’m sharing that story, along with a reframe that’s helped me question the standards I use to judge my own work. I explore: Why feeling qualified doesn’t always translate into feeling ready. The gap between what I hear in my recordings and what my listeners might hear. How the things I criticize about myself affect my willingness to be heard. If you’re a solopreneur whose podcast keeps getting pushed back, I hope this episode helps you look at “good enough” differently—and feel a little more willing to give yourself the green light. ------------------ 🎧 Grab your free audio training here! Worried You’ll Run Out of Episode Ideas for Your Podcast? Start Here

🎙️ Ready to have a podcasting mentor in your pocket? Join me here! (And don't forget to enter the coupon "MENTOR" for $50 off your first and every subsequent month!) ------------------ Worried you’ll run out of podcast episode ideas before you’ve even started? I hear this from solopreneurs who have enough topics for five or ten episodes, but are already stressing about what comes next. And I get it. Starting a podcast feels like a bigger commitment when you’re not sure you’ll have enough to say. You don’t want to launch something only to find yourself staring at a blank document a few weeks later. In this episode, I share a different way to think about finding podcast topics, so you can stop putting pressure on yourself to invent something completely new every week. In this episode, I discuss: The fear of running out of ideas before recording episode one.Why seemingly simple questions can deserve an entire episode. What makes your perspective valuable when a topic has already been covered. I also share examples from different niches to help you see how this could work for your own audience, and explore the connection between an episode idea and a title someone actually understands. If you’ve been wondering whether you know enough, have enough ideas, or can add anything to a conversation that already exists, I want to help you feel more confident about what you bring to it. ------------------ 🎧 Grab your free audio training here! Why Repeating Yourself Is NOT Lazy Content Creation (& How It's Actually a Multiplier)
2026/10/06
🎙️ Ready to have your episodes recorded with you and edited for you? Then check out Recording Sprint here! :) 🎧 Grab your free audio training here! Ever sit down to create content and think, “Surely everyone is sick of hearing me talk about this”? In this episode, I’m exploring why repetition in content creation can feel lazy to us, even when our listeners might need to hear that message again. I know what it’s like to spend so much time with my own ideas that I’m tired of them before I’ve even pressed publish. When I’m juggling clients, family, and my business, the pressure to come up with something completely new can make creating a podcast feel heavier than it needs to. But being familiar with my message doesn’t tell me how familiar my audience is with it. And hearing an idea, understanding it, and being ready to act on it are different things. I’m talking about: The gap between my experience as a creator and my listener’s experience. Why familiar advice can land differently at different times. What repeating my core message means for how people understand my work. If you’re a solopreneur or freelancer worried about repeating yourself on your podcast, I want this episode to give you some breathing room. I’m sharing a different way to think about familiar topics, so the next episode doesn’t have to begin with a search for something revolutionary. ------------------ Have a podcasting question, but want to keep it anonymous? 3 Simple Podcast Formats for Beginners (Start Without Committing Long-Term)
2026/09/29
🎙️ Ready to have your episodes recorded with you and edited for you? Then check out Recording Sprint here! :) 🎧 Grab your free audio training here! If you’ve been thinking about starting a podcast but keep getting stuck on what it should actually look like, this episode is for you. Starting a podcast can feel like committing to a huge project before you’ve even had a chance to find out whether you enjoy being behind the microphone. I know that feeling well. It’s easy to spend months thinking about your podcast name, format, artwork, equipment, publishing schedule, and a dozen other decisions. Meanwhile, you’re still not recording anything. In this episode, I want to make podcasting feel smaller, lighter, and much easier to experiment with — especially if you’re a busy solopreneur or freelancer who knows you have useful ideas to share but isn’t sure what your show should become yet. We’ll explore: How to get out of endless podcast planning mode. What you can learn by experimenting with different podcast formats. Why recording something can give you clarity that thinking never will. You don’t need your perfect podcast format figured out before you begin. You also don’t need to commit to publishing weekly episodes forever just because you’re curious about podcasting. My goal with this episode is to help you replace some of that pressure with experimentation — and hopefully discover that your future podcast might be much closer than you think. ------------------ Have a podcasting question, but want to keep it anonymous? What If Your Podcast Artwork Is Costing You Listeners?
2026/09/22
Let's connect on Instagram! @sayyestopodcasting Your podcast artwork might seem like a small detail compared to the actual content of your show, but it can influence whether someone ever hears that content in the first place. Before a potential listener hears my voice or learns anything from me, they’re already making a split-second judgment based on what they see. And that’s what makes podcast artwork frustrating. I can have a great topic, useful episodes, and exactly the expertise someone is looking for—and still give them a reason to keep scrolling if the packaging doesn’t feel right. In this episode, I’m looking at podcast cover art from the listener’s perspective rather than the creator’s. I also explore why context matters more than we sometimes realize, especially when we’re comparing our own shows to podcasts in completely different markets. I’ll get into questions around: What your artwork actually needs to communicate. Why your audience, niche, and market affect what “good” looks like.Whether professional podcast artwork is worth outsourcing. Most importantly, I want to take some of the pressure out of this decision. Good artwork matters, but obsessing over it shouldn’t become another excuse to delay launching. If you’re building a podcast alongside an already busy solo business, this episode will help you think about your podcast branding more clearly—and decide what deserves your attention right now. ------------------ Do you want to plan your podcast in 56 minutes? Overwhelmed by Conflicting Podcasting Advice? Come Back to These 3 Things
2026/09/15
Let's connect on Instagram! @sayyestopodcasting There’s no shortage of podcasting tips out there. If you’re a solopreneur running your podcast yourself, you’ve probably Googled, ChatGPT’d, and researched your way through enough podcasting advice to feel like you should know what you’re doing by now. And yet, with so many moving parts, it’s surprisingly easy to lose sight of the podcasting basics that actually deserve your attention. I see this happen all the time. We get caught up in equipment, editing, promotion, growth, and everything else we’re told matters, while overlooking seemingly small details that shape how potential listeners experience our shows. In this episode, I’m bringing things back to basics and sharing three podcasting principles I want you to keep in mind as you create and grow your show. We’ll look at: What influences a new listener’s first impression. Why seemingly small podcast decisions can have a bigger impact than we realize.Where I believe your attention is better spent as a busy solopreneur. If you’ve been consuming endless podcast advice and wondering what you actually need to focus on, this episode will help you cut through some of that noise. My goal is to help you look at your podcast through your listener’s eyes (ears? ;)) and recognize the details that can determine whether someone discovers your show, presses play, and decides to stick around. ------------------ Do you want to plan your podcast in 56 minutes? This Is What You Really Need to Know About Podcasting (That Nobody Wants to Hear)
2026/09/08
🎙️ Let's work on starting your show, shall we? (It won't be easy at the start, but I'll surely make it fun!) Click here to see which option speaks to you the most. 🔗 With the permission of my business friend Višnja Željeznjak, whom I mention in this episode, I'm sharing the link to her article, which is, as I said, in Croatian (if you're curious, you can auto-translate the page and see what she has to say; fingers crossed it's a decent translation!). ------------------ Starting a podcast can feel simple from the outside: pick a topic, press record, publish. But the reality of podcasting — especially when you’re building a show to support your business — is that some parts are genuinely hard, and pretending otherwise doesn’t help anyone. In this episode, I’m exploring what "hard" actually means, why podcast growth is often slower than we’d like, and why that isn’t necessarily a problem. I also talk about the tension I’ve been thinking about lately between making things easier for my clients and being transparent about the patience and work that results require. We’ll get into questions like: What does "slow" actually mean when you’re growing a podcast? Why can taking the first step feel both incredibly easy and incredibly hard? How does something difficult eventually become something that feels natural? I also share a story from my own early days of podcasting, when interviewing someone in English on a public podcast felt like my version of choosing the hard thing — plus a reminder that even experienced podcasters can feel like beginners again. If you’ve been hesitating to start your podcast, frustrated that growth isn’t happening fast enough, or wondering whether this should all feel easier by now, this episode offers a more realistic — and hopefully reassuring — perspective. ------------------ Do you want to plan your podcast in 56 minutes? What If Your Idea of Podcasting Is All Wrong?

If your definition of podcasting involves hour-long interviews, video, big-name guests, and sponsors, you’re definitely not the only one. That’s exactly what came up during a recent Podcasting on Easy Mode workshop I hosted for a group of solopreneurs. And it made me realize how many of us have a very specific picture of what a podcast is supposed to look like. The problem? That picture can make starting a podcast feel like a much bigger commitment than it actually needs to be. In this episode, I’m sharing part of that workshop conversation and exploring how much creative freedom we actually have when choosing a podcast format—especially when we’re building a show around a solo business. We’ll explore: What we tend to assume a “real” podcast should look like. Why the most popular podcast format isn’t necessarily the right one for your business. How thinking beyond traditional interviews can open up completely different possibilities. If you’ve been interested in podcasting but keep thinking you don’t have the time, energy, or desire to create the kind of show you see everywhere else, this episode might shift your perspective. Because your podcast doesn’t need to follow someone else’s definition of podcasting. You get to create your own. ------------------ Do you want to plan your podcast in 56 minutes? What You'll Love Most About Audio Podcasting as a Solopreneur
2026/08/25
Audio podcasting gives us something that can be surprisingly difficult to find as busy solopreneurs: freedom. And the more I record, the more I realize that audio podcasting isn’t just flexible for me as the person creating it — that flexibility can also make the listening experience feel more personal and human. In this episode, I’m sharing a realization that became especially clear while working away from my usual setup. When you’re juggling client work, family, travel, and everything else that comes with running a solo business, content creation can easily start feeling like another production you have to squeeze into your week. But does it really need to be that complicated? I explore what changes when we stop treating podcasting like something that requires perfect conditions and start looking at the audio medium for what it naturally allows us to do. We’ll think about: Why flexibility matters when you’re creating content consistently. What makes audio feel naturally personal to listeners. How your real life can become part of the connection rather than an obstacle. If you’ve been putting off starting a podcast because the process feels too demanding, I hope this episode helps you see what’s possible. You might discover that podcasting can fit into your business and life far more naturally than you expected. ------------------ Do you want to plan your podcast in 56 minutes? In this episode, I’m continuing my conversation with my client Anđela Đinđić, a psychology expert and host of an amazing psychology podcast in Croatian (Zalogaj za razmišljanje), and looking at what changed once she stopped thinking about podcasting and actually became a podcast host. You have the expertise, the ideas, and maybe even the desire to start a podcast—but then the tech, editing, consistency, and dozens of little unknowns get in the way. In this episode, I’m joined by my client Anđela Đinđić, a psychology expert and host of an amazing psychology podcast in Croatian (Zalogaj za razmišljanje) to talk about the version of her before her podcast existed. And I love this conversation because we’re not pretending launching a podcast was effortless for her. Stop Waiting for "More Time" to Start Your Podcast
2026/08/04
Do you want to have a podcasting mentor in your pocket (almost literally) for 2 weeks straight? Click here and find out how we can bring your future podcast to life! Podcasting can feel downright impossible when our calendars are already full of client work. If you've ever caught yourself saying, "I'll start my podcast when things slow down," this episode is for you. I want to challenge the way we think about finding time for podcasting and show you why the real obstacle might not be the number of hours in the day. Instead of looking at podcasting as one giant task that requires an entire free afternoon, I explore a different way of thinking about the creative process. This mindset shift helped me, and it's something I've seen make a huge difference for many solopreneurs and freelancers as well. By the end of this episode, you'll look at making time for your podcast through a new lens and realize that meaningful progress doesn't always happen when you're sitting behind the microphone. Sometimes the most valuable work happens long before you press record. In this episode, we'll explore: Why podcasting often feels more time-consuming than it really is.How small moments throughout the day can become part of my creative process.A mindset shift that makes recording feel far less overwhelming. If you've been waiting for the perfect moment to start or stay consistent with your podcast, I hope this episode helps you see that progress is often built in small, intentional moments—not just during recording sessions. Should You Start a Video Podcast? (The Video vs. Audio Debate We Should Actually Be Having)
2026/07/28
Video podcast or audio podcast? It’s a question I’ve been thinking about a lot lately, and in this episode I’m sharing my honest thoughts on the video podcast debate. For the longest time, I believed audio was the obvious choice, but recently I’ve started seeing video through a different lens—and that shift surprised me more than anyone. If you’ve ever wondered whether you should show up on camera, or felt torn between audio and video, I think you’ll relate to this conversation. Rather than focusing on algorithms or technical advice, I explore how each format changes the way we create, communicate, and connect with the people on the other side. By the end of this episode, you’ll look at audio podcasting and video content from a fresh perspective, with a clearer understanding of why each medium feels so different. In this episode, I reflect on: Why audio often feels more natural than video. The pressure that comes with being on camera. How I’m personally thinking about the future of my own content. Whether you’re planning to start a podcast or you’re wondering if it’s time to add video into the mix, I hope this episode helps you think beyond the usual “which one is better?” debate and instead choose the format that feels right for you, your personality, and the kind of relationship you want to build with your audience. Podcast guesting can open incredible doors—but only if you're intentional about where you show up and how you approach the process. In this episode, Alex Sanfilippo and I move beyond the "why" of podcast guesting and dive into the thinking behind becoming a guest people genuinely want to invite back. If you've ever wondered which podcasts are actually worth pitching, worried about sending the wrong message, or felt like every outreach email sounds exactly the same, you'll get a refreshing perspective from this conversation. Instead of chasing the biggest shows or copying what everyone else is doing, we explore what creates meaningful podcast conversations and long-term relationships with hosts. In this episode, we talk about: What makes a podcast worth guesting on.Why authenticity beats polished pitches every time. How great podcast guests build lasting relationships with hosts. One of my favorite takeaways is that podcast guesting isn't about collecting as many appearances as possible. It's about finding the right conversations, showing up as yourself, and creating genuine connections with hosts and listeners alike. If you want podcast guesting to become a long-term part of your visibility strategy instead of another marketing task on your to-do list, I think you'll walk away with a completely different perspective after listening. ------------------ Do you want to plan your podcast in 56 minutes?
