What Makes a Football Coach Unforgettable
2026/10/29
Any coach can teach a player how to kick a ball. Very few leave a mark that lasts a lifetime.
After 20 years and more than 10,000 players, I’ve learned the thing that makes a coach unforgettable has almost nothing to do with football. It’s how you treat the person, the standard you set, and who you are on a hard day.
If you coach, or you’re raising one, this one’s for you.

Why Small Things Set You Off | Shorouk Abdallah
2026/10/21
Shorouk is one of my trusted friends, and this is the first podcast she has ever done. Until last year you could not find her online at all. That was on purpose.
She is a psychologist, practising since 2006, and she has a way of explaining people that I have not heard anywhere else. Her idea is simple. Our body sits at 37 degrees, and we all understand that something is wrong if it climbs to 39 or drops to 33. We just never apply the same thinking to our emotional state. So we live at 39, controlling, on edge, one second from exploding, or at 33, going through the motions, looking at life instead of living it. And we call it normal. Her point that stayed with me is that 37 is not something you build. You were born there. The work is removing what got layered on top of it.We got into:, What a parent at 39 does to a child, and what a parent at 33 does, Why children copy who you are rather than what you tell them, Why meditation is the wrong tool for some people and the right one for others, The seven layers of conditioning she has spent twenty years mapping, Birth order, and why no two children get the same parents, Why people only change when staying put hurts more than changing, Why recovery speed matters more than staying calmIf you are a parent, a coach, a teacher, or you have ever wondered why small things set you off, this one is for you.

Why You Can Never Get Comfortable
2026/10/14
As I turn 45, I’ve been thinking about a lesson I learned the hard way. When you build something and it finally starts working, there’s a quiet danger: you start to believe you’ve "made it." You get comfortable. And that’s exactly when things begin to slip.
Building this club meant doing every task myself, from admin to logistics. We survived against massive franchises in Dubai because we focused on every single child. The day you think you’ve arrived is the day you stop doing the grounded work that got you there.
Everything is temporary—the wins and the losses. If I had found this level of success younger, it might have ruined my soul. Today, I realize it's simply a profound responsibility.
Staying humble isn’t weakness; it’s what keeps you sharp. The same effort that built it is the effort it takes to keep it.
I filmed this on the pitch I built from nothing. Twenty years taught me this. I just hope my players learn it faster.
Where in your life do you need to stop getting comfortable?
All Civilizations Are Equally Worthless | Dr. Roy Casagranda
2026/10/06
Every civilization believes it was the greatest. Every single one of them collapses. And almost none of us had anything to do with the achievements we are proud of.
Dr. Roy Casagranda is a historian and political scientist who has lived in seven countries and now teaches in the UAE. He failed his way through American schools, fell in love with university and never left, and built a PhD out of psychology, political science, history and drama.
I went after him for months after watching him talk about Cyrus (Kourosh) and the Achaemenids with more care than most Iranians manage. This is one of the deepest conversations we have had on the show, and one of my favourites
.We got into:, Why he believes we may be the worst species that has ever lived, The Permian extinction, and why he thinks we are recreating it, Why civilizations almost always destroy themselves from the inside, The library of Cordoba, 400,000 books, burned by the city that built it, Why there is no greatest civilization, and why nationalism is the oldest trick there is, The genealogy maths that makes ethnic purity mathematically impossible, Why you can be proud of your ancestors but never of yourself, Good thoughts, good words, good deeds, and what the world lost when it forgot them, AI, bias, and why he says privacy is already an illusion,
Why Gen Z being abandoned is the thing that gives him hopeFair warning, we did not avoid anything. The conversation goes into war, politics and the state of the world, and Dr. Roy says exactly what he thinks. You will not agree with all of it. I did not agree with all of it. That is what a conversation is for.Dr.Roy's Social Media Accounts https://www.youtube.com/@DrRoyCasagranda

The One Question That Fixed How I Spend Money
2026/10/03
Everyone thinks getting rich is about making more money. I've met plenty of people who make a lot and are still broke. So I started asking myself one simple question before buying anything: would I still buy this if I was alone on an island with no one watching? If the answer is no, I'm not buying it for me, I'm buying it to be seen. That one question changed how I spend.
This video is about the things I wish someone had told me decades ago. Not because I'm good with money, I'm not. I've lost plenty, heart and money both. Most of what I know came from books, not from being some financial genius.
I break down the subscriptions quietly draining my account that I finally cancelled, why flashy choices are a trap (nobody cares about you, they care about the car), and the difference between getting rich and staying rich. The honest truth: you need far less than you think. Wealth is quiet. It's the money people don't see.If you're younger than me, you've got time to fix this that I wish I had. Use it.Two books that changed how I think, both mentioned in the video: The Psychology of Money and The Algebra of Wealth.Which subscription are you cancelling after watching this? Let me know in the comments.
What It Actually Costs to Be a World Champion | Chantelle Cameron
2026/09/29
Everyone sees the belts. Almost nobody sees what they cost.
Chantelle Cameron is one of the best boxers in the world, an undisputed champion, and the first woman in the UK to fight a world title over 3 minute rounds because she refuses to argue for equal pay while doing less work.
But this conversation wasn't really about boxing. It was about the childhood she says she never had, the sacrifices nobody warns you about, why a single loss can shape you more than any win, and the fear that sits behind all of it.
I told her at the start I'm not a boxing fan. By the end it didn't matter.
If you have ever given up something to chase something bigger, this one is for you.

Why 99% of Employees Stay Average (And How to Be Irreplaceable)
2026/09/20
fter 27 years of hiring, more than 200 people, from coaches to drivers to editors to chefs, I've learned the thing that makes an employee impossible to replace has nothing to do with skill.
It's mindset. It's ownership. It's the person who takes problems off your plate instead of adding to it, who brings solutions instead of just problems, who takes the extra step nobody asked for, and who does the job for themselves, not for the boss.
In this video I break down exactly what I look for, the mistakes that quietly cost people their jobs, and the one word that changes everything.
Whether you're an employee who wants to grow or an employer trying to build a team you can rely on, this one's for you.
Watch till the end. The last point is the one most people get wrong.

School Teaches Obedience, Not Intelligence | Arto Bendiken
2026/09/12
He dropped out of school at 13, taught himself to code, and built four companies. Now he homeschools his own children. His view on modern education is uncomfortable, and hard to argue with.In this episode of the Rowshan Podcast, I sat down with my friend Arto Bendiken, a technologist and entrepreneur from Finland who has been programming for 30 years, worked on digital currencies a decade before Bitcoin existed, and now builds AI systems designed around privacy.
He is one of the sharpest thinkers I know, and this conversation went in every direction.

Why I Don't Make Big Decisions Alone Anymore
2026/09/11
I've made a few decisions in my life that would've been far easier, and far cheaper, if I'd just asked someone with more experience first.
But back then I thought I had to know everything myself. I had to make the call alone. Asking for advice felt like weakness.
Now it's the opposite. Before any big decision, I go to the people who've already walked that road. Not because I'm incapable, but because I've learned that other people's experience is the cheapest way to learn.
In this video I talk about exactly that, the mistakes I made, and what they taught me.
Who do you turn to before making a big decision? Let me know in the comments.
How To Impress At A Football Trial (From A Coach Who Runs Them)
2026/08/27
Most players walk into a trial thinking it's all about skill. It isn't.After years of running trials and watching hundreds of players walk onto the pitch, I can tell you the truth: coaches decide a lot about you before you even touch the ball. Your timing. Your body language. What you do when the ball is nowhere near you. How you react to a mistake. In this video I break down exactly what a coach is really looking for at a football trial, the things that get you picked, and the small things that quietly get you cut.If you've got a trial coming up, watch this before you go

Setting the Standard: Inside a Purposeful Football Training Session
2026/08/17
After a couple of years away from the actual coaching, I got back again at Alliance FC.In this video I emphasized on how much the small things matter. The ball pressure. The quality of a single pass in warm-up. Correcting a player without killing the session's rhythm. The details nobody notices, until they're missing. This is a look at what high standards actually mean on a training pitch, and why they're the difference between a good academy and an average one.0:00 Coaching Again0:41 High Standards1:45 Ball Pump Check 3:05 Sometimes More Isn’t Better4:10 Technical Warm Up8:28 Completion With Quality9:37 Small Details, Big Impact13:07 Correct Without Breaking the Flow14:16 Setting the Team Lineup 15:30 See the Bigger Picture#footballtraining #footballcoach #soccerpractice
The Illusion of the Destination: Stoicism, Ego, and Borrowed Time (22)
2026/08/15
We chase destinations our whole lives, the job, the relationship, the number in the bank account and somehow, when we get there, it's never enough. In this episode of the Rowshan Podcast, I sat down with my good friend Kaveh Vessali, one of the sharpest thinkers I know. This conversation goes far beyond any one topic. It's philosophy, psychology, and lived experience, all woven together into something genuinely useful. We got into:– Why the process matters more than the destination — and why the destination never satisfies you– The difference between an outcome and a moment– Why nothing is good or bad, it just is– Why everything is temporary, and why that should change how you live– Stoicism, existentialism, and universal consciousness — made simple– Why we're not kind enough to ourselves or to each other– Why even your identity isn't really yours– Chance, risk, luck, privilege, and hard work — and how they actually interact– Why listening matters more than speaking, and why silence is golden– Instant vs delayed gratification, and intentional content consumption– Why kids learn from what they witness, not what they're told– Ego, hate, kindness, and why we can't live life in fearOne of the most thought-provoking conversations we've had on the show. You're Overcomplicating Your Health. Here's What Actually Works | Dr Elie Abirached
2026/07/25
The longevity industry wants you to believe that living longer requires expensive supplements, red light panels, cold plunges, and a stack of biohacks. A longevity doctor is here to tell you almost none of it matters. In this episode of the Rowshan Podcast, I sat down with Dr Elie Abirached, a longevity and recovery expert who runs Restore, one of the region's first dedicated recovery spaces. His message is refreshingly simple, and it goes against almost everything the wellness industry is selling: the things that actually keep you strong, sharp, and healthy are free, boring, and available to everyone. This conversation is about how to live longer — but more importantly, how to live better. We got into:– Why you don't need fancy gadgets to get most of the benefits people pay thousands for– Why recovery, not exercise, is where real growth actually happens– Sleep: why it's the single most powerful (and most neglected) tool you have– The link between mental health and physical health, and why you can't separate them– Why we constantly work against our own bodies — and what happens when the body rebels– Watching the sunrise, sunlight, and the simple daily habits that outperform the expensive stuff– Why "just five more minutes" in the morning can quietly ruin your whole day– What healthy aging actually requires, from someone who does it for a livingIf you've ever felt overwhelmed by wellness advice, this is the episode that cuts through the noise.FOLLOW DR ELIE ABIRACHEDLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dr-eli-abirached/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elie.limitless/FOLLOW MEHRAN ROWSHANInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mehranrowshanIf this conversation helped you, share it with someone who's overcomplicating their health.#RowshanPodcast #Longevity #Health #Recovery #DrElieAbirached #Wellness #Sleep #DubaiPodcast #HealthyAging #Biohacking0:00 Podcast Overview 1:45 Guest Introduction4:22 Healthy Aging 10:16 Today’s Habits Shape Your Future 13:50 Finding the Right Balance 17:30 Prioritizing Health 19:30 The Journey to a Healthy Life23:14 Everything Affects Your Health24:50 Sleep: The Foundation of Health29:40 Self Observation 32:30 The Silent Health Saboteurs36:10 Health Is True Success42:50 The Mind, Body & Spirit Connection47:05 Training for Longevity54:23 Elie’s Daily Routine 59:20 Supplements & Nutrition1:01:12 Elie’s Biggest Fear in Life#RowshanPodcast #Longevity #Health #Recovery #DrElieAbirached #Wellness #Sleep #DubaiPodcast #HealthyAging #Biohacking
