The Pizza Bomber| Was Brian Wells a Victim or Part of the Plan?
2026/10/09
On August 28, 2003, pizza delivery driver Brian Wells walked into a bank in Erie, Pennsylvania, with a bomb locked around his neck. He demanded $250,000. He left with just $8,702. And less than an hour later, he was dead. What followed was one of the strangest criminal investigations in American history: a homemade collar bomb, a cane gun, a bizarre scavenger hunt, and a cast of characters whose connections raised more questions than answers. But one question still divides people today: Was Brian Wells an innocent victim forced into an elaborate robbery, or did he know more about the plan than he admitted? In this episode of Coffee and Crime with Mom, Nicholle and Zalle walk through the events leading up to the robbery, the investigation, the people involved, and the evidence that continues to fuel debate. And we have some thoughts. 👀☕ What do YOU believe? Was Brian Wells a victim, a participant, or both? The Tylenol Murders | 44 Years Later, Who Was the Killer?
2026/10/01
In September 1982, seven people in the Chicago area died after taking Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules laced with cyanide. There was no obvious connection between the victims. No traditional crime scene. No known killer stalking them. Just ordinary people taking a medicine they believed was safe — until investigators discovered something horrifying: someone had deliberately tampered with the capsules. What followed became one of the largest murder investigations in American history. In this episode of Coffee & Crime with Mom, we go back to the beginning of the Tylenol murders — from the first unexplained deaths and Helen Jensen's discovery of the contaminated capsules, to the nationwide panic, the massive investigation, and the people investigators considered along the way. We also examine the investigation surrounding James Lewis, the infamous extortion letter, Roger Arnold, Kevin Masterson, the evidence that did — and did not — connect these men to the murders, and why no one was ever convicted of killing the seven victims. Then we bring the case into 2026. A new development has investigators examining the identity of a man once known only as the Unknown Wanderer — Dr. Mathew Francis Betkouski, a chemist who died from cyanide poisoning in Idaho just months after the Tylenol murders. Investigators have uncovered a number of potentially significant connections, including his chemistry background, references to poison, a connection to Chicago, and cyanide-related evidence. But there is still a crucial gap: investigators have not established that Betkouski was in Chicago when the Tylenol poisonings occurred. So after more than four decades, the central question remains: Who poisoned the Tylenol? This is the story of the victims, the investigation, the suspects, the evidence, and the mystery that still hasn't been solved. ☕ Coffee & Crime with Mom Subscribe, follow, and join us for more true crime cases, investigations, mysteries, and the stories behind the headlines. The Crash That Killed 6: Accident, Medical Emergency… or Murder? | Nicole Linton
2026/09/24
⚠️ CONTENT WARNING: This episode discusses a fatal car crash, the deaths of six people, including a child and an unborn baby, and the resulting murder case. Some details may be difficult to hear. Please take care while listening, and pause if needed. On August 4, 2022, a devastating crash at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and La Brea Avenue in Windsor Hills, Los Angeles, claimed the lives of six people. Behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz was nurse Nicole Linton. Prosecutors allege Linton was driving at an extremely high speed before running a red light and crashing into multiple vehicles. Six people were killed, including Asherey Ryan, her 11-month-old son Alonzo, her boyfriend Reynold Lester, and Ryan's unborn child, as well as Nathesia Lewis and Lynette Noble. But what happened behind the wheel has become the central question in the case. The defense has argued that Linton experienced a medical emergency, including a possible seizure or loss of consciousness, causing her to lose control of the vehicle. Prosecutors dispute that explanation and have presented evidence they say shows Linton remained conscious and continued driving before the collision. Now, years after the Windsor Hills crash, Nicole Linton is facing a murder trial. In this episode of Coffee & Crime with Mom, we break down the timeline of the crash, the victims, the evidence surrounding Linton's driving, the competing explanations for what happened, and the questions at the center of the case. Was this a tragic crash caused by a medical emergency, or does the evidence support the murder charges? Join Nicholle and Zalle as they take a closer look at the Nicole Linton case. 2026/09/15
Dr. Tomasz Kosowski, a Florida plastic surgeon, is on trial for the first-degree murder of attorney Steven Cozzi — but there is one major problem: Steven Cozzi's body has never been found. On March 21, 2023, Steven Cozzi disappeared from the Blanchard Law Firm in Largo, Florida. His phone, wallet, keys and other personal belongings were left behind. Investigators say surveillance footage captured Tomasz Kosowski arriving at the law office and later leaving while struggling to load a large cart into his Toyota Tundra. What happened inside that law office? In this episode of Coffee & Crime with Mom, we break down the relationship between Tomasz Kosowski and Steven Cozzi, the civil lawsuit that brought them into conflict, the surveillance footage, the blood and DNA evidence described by prosecutors, the mysterious cart, the investigation into Cozzi's disappearance, and the case prosecutors have built against Kosowski. Kosowski has pleaded not guilty and maintains his innocence. He has waived his right to a jury trial and is representing himself as the case goes before Judge Joseph Bulone. Saylor Hayes | The Search, The Tragedy & The Questions Left Behind
2026/09/04
Five-year-old Saylor Hayes disappeared while her family was staying near Pawleys Island, South Carolina, on August 30, 2026. Saylor had been enrolled in Project Lifesaver—a program intended to help locate vulnerable people who may wander. As authorities searched for her, they tried to detect the signal from her assigned transmitter. They couldn’t find it in South Carolina. Deputies found the transmitter more than 300 miles away in Virginia. In this episode of Coffee and Crime with Mom, Nicholle tells Zalle the Saylor Hayes case for the first time. Zalle deliberately went into the recording without researching the case, so you’ll hear her questions and reactions as the story unfolds. We follow the investigation from Saylor’s disappearance and the massive search for her, through the discovery of her transmitter in Virginia, her tragic recovery the following morning, the arrest warrants for her parents, and earlier court and child-welfare cases involving the family in Virginia. Investigators allege Saylor’s parents knew she was not wearing her Project Lifesaver transmitter and nevertheless encouraged authorities to use the tracking system during the search. The warrants also contain allegations concerning supervision near water and the direction of search efforts. John Herb Hayes III and Geordyn Nichole Hayes have not been charged with murdering Saylor. The allegations against them have not been proven in court, and both are presumed innocent. This episode was recorded September 2, 2026, while the investigation was still developing. Suzanne Sevakis | The Girl Who Lived Under 3 Names
2026/09/02
Suzanne Sevakis lived under several names throughout her life — including Tonya Hughes and Sharon Marshall — while the man who controlled her identity, Franklin Delano Floyd, remained at the center of one of America's most disturbing true-crime mysteries. In April 1990, Tonya Hughes was found unconscious beside a highway in Oklahoma after what investigators initially believed was a hit-and-run. She would later die from her injuries, leaving behind questions about who she really was. Years later, investigators began uncovering a much larger story involving false identities, missing children, murder, kidnapping, and a decades-long search for the truth. Who was Tonya Hughes? Who was Sharon Marshall? And who was Suzanne Sevakis? THE HANGINGS: 5 Black Americans, 5 Trees, 14 Months | Why Don't We Have Answers?
2026/08/28
Five Black Americans. Five trees. Five Southern towns. Fourteen months. Tonight we're not asking "is this a pattern." We're asking a simpler question: why does it take this much public pressure just to get a basic investigation? We go case by case — Juliana Umba Nzita (16, Charlotte), Demartravion "Trey" Reed (21, Cleveland, MS), Tasia Fortune (29, Jackson, MS), an unidentified man (32, Raleigh), and Demetrius Fleming (38, Roanoke Rapids) — and hold every official ruling up against what was actually done, and not done, before it was reached. ⚠️ Content warning: this episode discusses suicide, hanging deaths, and the history of racial violence in America. Nothing Adds Up | The Lindsey Clancy Case
2026/08/25
Content warning: This episode discusses child death, mental health, suicide-related themes, criminal charges, and other disturbing subject matter. On January 24, 2023, the Clancy family’s life changed forever. In this episode of Coffee and Crime with Mom, we take a detailed look at the Lindsay Clancy case, examining the events leading up to January 24, 2023, Lindsay’s reported mental-health struggles, the deaths of her three children — Cora, Dawson, and Callan — the investigation, and the legal questions that followed. Lindsay Clancy was charged in connection with the deaths of her children, while her defense raised questions about her mental state and whether severe mental illness affected her ability to understand her actions. As the case moved through the legal system, it also became the subject of intense discussion across social media and online true-crime communities. But there is a difference between documented evidence, disputed information, unverified claims, and theories. In this episode, we examine the publicly reported timeline and evidence, the questions raised during the legal proceedings, and the growing online speculation surrounding Lindsay, Patrick Clancy, the investigation, and the events of January 24, 2023. Some questions are supported by documented information. Others remain disputed or unverified. And some theories have traveled far beyond what the available evidence can establish. Our goal is not to turn unanswered questions into accusations. It is to separate what we know, what we don't know, what has been disputed, and what remains theory. Because underneath the headlines, courtroom arguments, social-media discussions, and online theories are three children — Cora, Dawson, and Callan — whose lives deserve to be remembered with care and whose story deserves to be told accurately. ☕ Coffee and Crime with Mom — true crime, real cases, and the questions left behind. Michelle Hadley was accused of a terrifying cyberstalking and sexual-assault fantasy plot aimed at her former fiancé’s new wife. She was the victim of an elaborate scheme. 600,000 Images, 70,000 Videos & a Mystery | Philadelphia’s House of Horrors
2026/08/18
CORRECTION: An image shown in this episode was mistakenly identified as being connected to the Eugene Horsch case. The photograph is from an unrelated case and should not have been included. We apologize for the error and appreciate the viewer who brought it to our attention. What was happening inside Philadelphia’s so-called “House of Horrors”? In 2026, investigators searching a home on West Chew Avenue in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood uncovered a disturbing collection of evidence — including chemicals, firearms, drugs, forged identification documents, a 55-gallon drum connected to piping, and an enormous amount of digital material. At the center of the investigation is Eugene Horsch, who was arrested in June 2026 on federal firearms and identification-related charges. But the investigation quickly expanded far beyond those allegations. Investigators reportedly recovered more than 600,000 images, 70,000 videos, and thousands of pages of writings from the property. Only a fraction of that material had been reviewed at the time of early reporting. Authorities have also connected the investigation to several missing women, including Amy McHale, Blair Tonzelli, Maribel Fresses, and Gabriella Amarando. Recent reporting says investigators found videos that appear to show two missing women alive and later deceased. However, their remains have not been recovered, and Horsch has not been charged in connection with their deaths. Those distinctions are important as this investigation continues to develop. ☕ Welcome to Coffee and Crime with Mom — where we sit down, pour a cup of coffee, and take a closer look at the cases that leave us with more questions than answers. If you enjoy true crime documentaries, missing-person cases, unsolved mysteries, criminal investigations, and detailed case breakdowns, please LIKE this video, SUBSCRIBE to Coffee and Crime with Mom, and turn on notifications for future episodes. 💬 What do you think investigators may uncover as they continue reviewing the evidence? Share your thoughts below, but please remember that this remains an active and developing investigation.
