Summer Romance & Steph’s Secret Fling
2026/09/29
Summer is coming, which means one thing... summer romance is back. This week, Steph and Holly are getting ready for summer loving with dating updates, old holiday flings and one confession involving their brother’s best friend that probably should have stayed buried on the Surf Coast. Then it’s over to the Neighbours. Is it your responsibility to look after the family dog when your sister still lives at home? What happens to the friendship group when two people inside it break up? And how much is too much to ask from a bridesmaid who is already dealing with one of the hardest years of her life? Things only get messier when one Neighbour realises her boyfriend might be planning a proposal after she has already told him she isn’t ready, while another discovers the girl she’s seeing has secretly been using her toothbrush. Then we answer one of life's most important questions: why do some men not have a bin in their bathroom? And just when we think we're done, this week's Horror Story turns a routine rental inspection into something genuinely terrifying. Make sure you rate, hit subscribe and send this episode to your friends, because that’s what good Neighbours do. ❤️ KEY MOMENTS Summer loving is backSteph and Holly get ready for warmer weather by looking back at old summer romances, questionable teenage decisions and why every good holiday somehow comes with a fling. The dating updateThere’s an update on the Bali romance, an upcoming trip to Melbourne and some very suspicious plans for a night away on the Surf Coast. The brother’s best friend confessionA teenage summer spent staring at the stars takes an unexpected turn when their brother’s best friend stops going to the beach parties and starts staying behind instead. Letterbox: Dog Walking GateA Neighbour feels like her sister is constantly treated like the princess of the family after a simple request to look after the family dog turns into another argument. Letterbox: The breakup killed the group chatTwo friends inside an eight-person friendship group break up and suddenly nobody knows how to organise anything without choosing sides. Confession: The Bridesmaid’s ContractA grieving bridesmaid is pushed to breaking point after becoming the unofficial wedding coordinator, hen’s organiser, bartender and florist for her childhood best friend. Confession: The Engagement AmbushA Neighbour suspects her boyfriend is about to propose even though she has clearly told him she wants to live together first. Then she discovers his entire family already knows about the plan. Sealed Section: The Sneaky ToothbrushA Neighbour keeps finding his toothbrush mysteriously wet until he catches the girl he’s seeing using it and discovers she thinks sharing a toothbrush is completely normal. Sealed Section: The No Bathroom Bin HouseA girl stays at the guy she’s dating’s house while on her period and discovers his family bathroom has no bin whatsoever. Horror Story: The Routine InspectionA convincing message from a real estate agency leads to a man arriving at a Neighbour’s door with a clipboard, lanyard and keys. The situation gets much worse when she checks her camera footage afterwards. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Peyton & Cameron Take on Girl Code | You Should Know Podcast
2026/09/22
This week on Girls Next Door, Steph and Holly are joined by Peyton and Cameron from the You Should Know Pod, fresh off their Australian tour and already questioning everything they thought they knew about us. After surviving their first shoey and discovering Australians may or may not ride kangaroos to school, we find out who’s smarter, who’s more confidently wrong, and revisit one of their greatest debates: is a fish actually an animal? Then the boys are put to the ultimate test with Girl Code. From “you can go if you want” and birthday present traps, to admitting another girl is attractive and recognising when someone is flirting with you, they quickly learn some questions are more dangerous than they seem. Then it’s over to the Neighbours. Is it still a boys trip if one girlfriend gets invited? Is sitting in the car for 30 minutes after work a relationship red flag or just decompression? Would you tell your best friend her engagement ring came from someone else’s failed marriage? And how long can one man pretend he’s going to the gym when he’s actually leaving his phone in a locker and heading to the pub? To finish, Steph, Holly, Peyton and Cameron attempt to answer some of life’s biggest questions with absolutely no help from Google. Why don’t we feel the Earth spinning? Where does fat actually go when you lose weight? Why don’t planes just fly against the Earth’s rotation? And why does your food get hot in the microwave when the plate sometimes doesn’t? Confidence is rewarded. Accuracy is optional. Make sure you rate, hit subscribe and send this episode to your friends, because that’s what good Neighbours do. ❤️ KEY MOMENTS Peyton & Cameron arrive in the NeighbourhoodThe You Should Know boys recap their Australian shows, their first shoey and what they’ve learned about Aussie culture so far. Who’s actually smarter?Peyton and Cameron explain why their friendship is basically built on arguing and reveal who is more likely to keep defending a point even after realising they’re wrong. “A fish isn’t an animal”One of their most infamous arguments returns before Steph introduces the boys to walking fish and the debate somehow moves on to whether different coloured Froot Loops have different flavours. Are you in love? The boys open up about their relationships, whether their partners listen to the podcast and what it’s like having their real personalities become part of the show. Girl CodeThe boys are tested on anniversaries, weekends with the boys, “you can go if you want”, attractive strangers, flirting and what happens when your girlfriend says she doesn’t want anything for her birthday. Peyton’s very big romantic gesturePeyton reveals the lengths he went to while trying to win over his girlfriend — including buying around 15 dozen roses. Letterbox: Boys Trip Plus OneA Neighbour has been told she can’t come on her boyfriend’s boys trip, except another girlfriend is allowed because she’s apparently “one of the boys.” Letterbox: Car Park DecompressionA boyfriend regularly sits in his car outside the house after work, sparking a very revealing conversation about the places men disappear to when they need a few minutes alone. Confession: The Marketplace RingA Neighbour discovers her best friend’s engagement ring was bought from a woman whose marriage had ended and has to decide whether knowing the ring’s history changes everything. Confession: The Fake Gym RoutineBilly has created an elaborate system where his location says he’s at the gym while he’s actually at the pub — until one night almost exposes the entire operation. Meeting of the MindsFour completely unqualified minds attempt to solve some of life’s biggest science questions with no phones and no Google. Why don’t we feel the Earth spinning?A simple question somehow turns into flat Earth theories, surfing, the moon and whether you can physically feel the planet moving. Where does fat go?The group tries to understand what happens to fat when you lose weight... Helium balloons, microwaves and questionable scienceThe questions keep coming as the group attempts to explain why balloons deflate, how microwaves work and several other things they probably should have Googled first. Steph’s VERY Awkward Serenade...
2026/09/15
The girls are back from Bali and straight into their first ever NFL game, and they have a LOT of thoughts about the way Americans do things. Steph and Holly unpack Melbourne's NFL takeover, from the entertainment that makes our sport look like a school assembly, to the moment one person threw a paper plane from the top tier and 100,000 people immediately followed. It turns into a bigger conversation about tall poppy syndrome, why Aussies physically cannot hype themselves up, and whether we've been getting Americans completely wrong this whole time. Then Steph shares what might be the most confronting aftercare story ever told on this podcast, involving a guy, a guitar, a Jack Johnson song, and her still being fully naked. Then it's back to business with your Letters, Confessions, Sealed Sections and Horror Stories, including a girl who faked an allergy three years ago and is now in too deep, a bridesmaid who went rogue at the altar, a woman still getting her hair done by her ex's mum, a period cup incident at work that we need to talk about, and a hotel safe in Thailand that opened itself at 3am. Another completely chaotic week in the neighbourhood. KEY TALKING POINTS Americans Do It Differently The girls break down the NFL experience in Melbourne, the entertainment, the crowd, the merch, and why it made everything we do feel a bit flat. Tall Poppy Syndrome, Explained A conversation with a friend who played college basketball in the States completely reframes the Aussie habit of playing everything down. The Paper Plane Situation One person launched a cardboard cutout from the top of the stadium and within minutes the whole game had stopped mattering. He Pulled Out a Guitar While I Was Still Naked Holly's story about the guy who serenaded her post-hookup with a song he had never sung in front of anyone before. The Aftercare Misread A Neighbour wants to know how to leave after casual sex without making someone feel disposable, and whether aftercare is even expected when it's not serious. The Godparent Demotion  A Neighbour was promised godmother status by her sister years ago, then found out very casually that the sister-in-law got it instead. The Fake Birthday Allergy Three years ago she panicked and said she was allergic rather than admit she hated her boyfriend's mum's dessert. The woman now rings her from Woolies to check labels. The Wedding Speech Cut A bride edited every funny story out of her best friend's speech. The best friend read the original version anyway. The Ex's Mum Is My Hairdresser  Five years with the best hairdresser she's ever had, eight months since a very messy breakup with the woman's son. Is a good blonde worth it? The Period Cup at Work A bathroom disaster, a dropped cup, and a genuinely useful conversation about how these things are actually meant to work. The Hotel Safe Four nights in Thailand, a safe that kept opening on its own, and the one tiny thing that went missing that made it so much worse. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Holly’s Hot Bali Date… Is There a Season 2?
2026/09/10
The girls are back from Bali, running on two hours sleep and with A LOT to unpack. Steph and Holly have just returned from their first international campaign, but while they can’t tell you everything about why they were there just yet, they can absolutely spill the tea on everything else that happened. And apparently… Holly’s portal was OPEN. After getting more attention than Steph knew what to do with, Holly ended up meeting an Aussie in Bali, leading to her first date since the infamous situationship. One date quickly turned into a second and third, and now there might even be another catch-up back in Australia. Could there be a Season 2 looming? The girls also unpack one of the strangest men they encountered on the trip, Steph somehow ends up involved in another ocean rescue, and Holly’s new Bali romance gets thrown straight into the deep end during a surf. Then it’s back to business with your Letters, Confessions and Horror Stories, including relationship location sharing, dealing with your partner’s ex, one Neighbour admitting she repeatedly peed outside at her situationship’s house, two terrifying follow-ups from our trafficking episode, and a delivery driver horror story that will make you rethink ever leaving your balcony unlocked again. Another completely chaotic week in the neighbourhood. KEY TALKING POINTS Holly’s Hot Bali DateHolly spills on her first date since the situationship, how one night turned into multiple dates, and whether she might see “Aussie” again back home. Holly’s Portal Was Wide OpenThe girls recap just how much attention Holly was getting in Bali, including men trying to pick her up everywhere they went. The Creepy Guy Who Wouldn’t Leave Holly AloneA bizarre encounter at a party escalates across multiple nights as one man keeps approaching Holly, following her and pushing her boundaries. Steph’s Bali Ocean RescueSteph spots a man being swept out in a rip at Padang and ends up getting involved in yet another unexpected rescue. A Surf Date Goes SidewaysHolly takes Aussie surfing, only for the new swell and strong rip to make the date a little more eventful than planned. Should Your Partner Share Their Location?A Neighbour asks whether wanting her boyfriend’s live location is reasonable or whether she is crossing into controlling territory. Being Friendly With Your ExThe girls weigh in on whether jealousy is justified when your boyfriend keeps crossing paths and making small talk with his ex. “I’m Basically a Dog”One Neighbour confesses that her situationship’s living arrangement meant she regularly had to pee outside, until one morning she came up with an even worse solution. Attempted Abduction in TurkeyA listener shares a terrifying story from Kaş where her male friend appeared to be drugged as part of what she believes was an attempt to isolate her and another woman. Attempted Snatch in ParisAnother Neighbour shares the moment a stranger followed her back to her hotel and tried to convince her to get into a car with him. The Delivery ManA late-night takeaway order turns terrifying when a warning appears on the receipt, followed hours later by a knock coming from somewhere it absolutely shouldn’t. David The Medium’s Emotional Reading for Steph & Holly | Part 2
2026/09/05
We’re back with Part 2 of our chat with David The Medium and this one gets a lot more personal. We start with the uncomfortable side of the other side, asking David the questions that don’t have simple answers. Can spirits communicate in any language? What happens when someone reincarnates? Do children grow up in the afterlife? And if someone dies with dementia or an illness, which version of them comes through? David also opens up about fake mediums, whether the industry should be regulated and the psychic he says he could “end the career” of with one recording. Then the tables turn. David gives Steph and Holly a reading and connects with their late cousin James, bringing up his passing, his struggles, memories of the Surf Coast and the guilt the family carried after losing him. He also weighs in on the Davies family home and why, despite all the footsteps and strange energy, he doesn’t think they have anything to be afraid of. And because we couldn’t let him leave without asking… David looks ahead at what could be coming for the girls, Hawaii, TV, modelling, relationships, babies and what the future might hold for Girls Next Door. We finish with a message for anyone who worries that someone they’ve lost is simply gone. Content note: This episode contains discussion of suicide, substance use, grief and mental health. KEY TALKING POINTS Can Spirits Speak Any Language?David explains why he believes souls communicate through energy rather than human language. What Happens When We Reincarnate?David shares his view on when a soul returns and why, in some cases, he believes someone can be born back into the same family. Do Children Grow Up in the Afterlife? What happens to someone’s age, identity and physical illnesses once they cross over? Can Spirits Help Find Missing Money?David reveals the times readings have apparently led people to money and valuables hidden in some very unexpected places. Fake Mediums & The Psychic David Says He Could ExposeDavid gets candid about fraudulent psychics, people preying on vulnerability and one Australian psychic he says he has a recording that could expose. David Connects With Steph & Holly’s Cousin JamesThe reading turns deeply personal as David brings through a younger male energy and the girls begin connecting his messages to their late cousin James. Surfing, Anglesea & Signs From JamesDavid references the Surf Coast, family memories and dragonflies as the girls unpack some surprisingly specific connections. The Guilt James Wants the Family to Let Go OfA powerful conversation about grief, responsibility and the guilt that can remain after losing someone in difficult circumstances. Is The Davies Family Home Haunted?David gives his take on the footsteps, strange energy and generations of family history connected to their Port Melbourne home. What’s Next for Steph & Holly?Hawaii, modelling, TV, the future of the podcast, relationships, motherhood and the possibilities David sees ahead for the girls. A Final Message for Anyone Missing SomeoneDavid shares what he wants people to know if they’re scared that someone they’ve lost has completely disappeared. David The Medium and the Secret He Couldn’t Tell 1,800 People | Part 1
2026/09/01
Neighbours, this week we’re heading to the other side… or at least asking absolutely everything we’ve ever wanted to know about it. In Part 1 of our chat with David the Medium, we waste approximately zero time before getting to the important questions: can your dead grandparents see you having sex? Do partners in spirit get jealous when you move on? And could they actually be helping send your next partner your way? From there, things get surprisingly deep. David talks soul contracts, reincarnation, soul families, what he believes actually survives after we die, and why apparently our “lucky girl energy” might not be luck at all. Steph also tells the bizarre story of the stranger who walked up to her at breakfast and told her to leave her boyfriend, David explains why his boundaries with the spirit world are rock solid, and shares some of the readings and messages that have stayed with him over the years — including one particularly confronting moment during a live show in London. And somehow… this is only Part 1. In Part 2, David turns the tables and does readings for both Steph and Holly — and some of what came through genuinely caught everyone off guard. Good Neighbours know the drill, rate, subscribe, share with a mate and make sure you’re back for Part 2. 👻Key Moments:Can the Dead See Everything?David answers whether loved ones in spirit are watching during our more private moments. Dating After LossDo partners who have passed get jealous when you move on, or could they actually help send someone new your way? Messages From the Other SideDavid reveals some of the cheekier and more unexpected messages he’s had to pass on during readings. Soul Contracts & ReincarnationDavid explains his belief that life is a classroom for the soul and why we may return to learn different lessons. Finding the Same Souls AgainCould the people closest to us have been part of our lives before? David dives into soul families and past lives. Lucky Girl EnergyDavid challenges Steph and Holly’s “lucky girl syndrome” and explains why he believes it’s actually about being aligned. Switching the Spirit World OffWhy David says he’s David 99% of the time and “David the Medium” only 1%, and the boundaries that keep him sane. Steph’s Psychic StrangerSteph shares the bizarre story of a stranger who interrupted breakfast and told her it was time to leave her boyfriend. The Spirit David Never ForgotDavid shares the unusual reading that stayed with him for days and continued into his dreams. The 27 Club & Saturn ReturnsThe conversation turns to astrology, the 27 Club and whether major spiritual shifts could be connected. When Readings Make Sense LaterDavid explains why people sometimes leave convinced he was wrong, only to contact him later when his reading suddenly makes sense. The Secret He Couldn’t Tell 1,800 PeopleDavid recalls a confronting live reading at London’s O2 where he had to carefully navigate an unexpected message in front of the crowd. Coming Up in Part 2David turns his abilities towards Steph and Holly, with some surprisingly specific things coming through. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Don’t Get Taken: Warning Signs You Don’t Notice Until It’s Too Late
2026/08/25
This week on Girls Next Door, Steph and Holly are having a conversation that every girl travelling overseas needs to hear. After seeing more and more women share frightening encounters while travelling, the girls revisit their own experience in Naples, where a man posing as a taxi driver tried to lead five of them away from the airport and towards an unmarked black van. Looking back now, there were red flags everywhere. They’re also joined by Olivia, an Australian woman whose night out in San Francisco ended in a high-speed crash, gunshots and the terrifying discovery that the man driving the car was on parole for human trafficking. Olivia shares what she remembers, what police told her afterwards and how something as horrific as the crash may have ultimately saved her life. Plus, the Neighbours share their own stories from Milan, South Africa, Bali and Marseille, including being followed through airports, chased by cars and moments where listening to their gut may have made all the difference. This episode isn’t about being scared to travel. It’s about recognising the little warning signs, trusting your instincts and looking out for each other. Key moments Steph & Holly’s Naples Story: The girls revisit the terrifying moment a man posing as a taxi driver tried to lead five of them towards an underground carpark and an unmarked black van, before real taxi drivers intervened and police began chasing him. The Paris Story That Changed Everything: After hearing a viral story about a woman being followed through Paris, Steph and Holly start recognising disturbing similarities between her experience and things they had previously brushed off during their own travels. Olivia’s Call: Olivia shares the extraordinary story of waking up to gunshots after a high-speed crash in San Francisco, only to later discover that the man driving the car was on parole for human trafficking. She explains why police kept telling her she was lucky, why she now considers the crash the best thing that could have happened, and the PTSD that followed. The Neighbours’ Close Calls: Listeners share frightening encounters from Milan, South Africa, Bali and Marseille, including being chased by a car, surrounded inside a shop and followed by the same stranger across multiple locations. The Warning Signs: Across all of the stories, the girls notice recurring patterns including strangers asking seemingly innocent questions, people working in groups, women being used to create trust, fake taxis and Ubers, and people trying to find out whether someone is travelling alone. Travel Without Living in Fear: Steph and Holly finish on why the episode isn’t about telling women not to travel, but about staying aware, protecting personal information, sticking together where possible and trusting your gut when something feels wrong. Buller Hookups, Cheating Revenge & One Terrifying Voice Note
2026/08/18
The girls are back after a massive couple of weeks and somehow they’ve returned with destroyed bodies, questionable snowboarding skills and way too much information about what really goes on at Mount Buller. After a Sydney trail run nearly takes Steph’s ankle out, the girls head to Buller with Red Bull for their first proper snowboarding lesson with Olympian Valentino Guseli. Except Val’s version of teaching two complete beginners is apparently skipping the beginner slope, heading straight to the top of the mountain and telling them to just send it. Once they survive the snow, things get even more chaotic. The girls investigate Buller’s hookup culture, snowmances, après, whether snowboarders really have more rizz and why apparently everyone on the mountain has a story. Including one woman who discovered her boyfriend was cheating, confronted him through a very specific game of Never Have I Ever and then got her revenge with his best friend... in a tree. Back in the Letterbox, a European Neighbour wants to know why her Aussie boyfriend refuses to call her babe but happily calls her bro, mate, dawg and cobber, while another Neighbour is being blamed for keeping his job after the mate who helped him get hired was made redundant. Then After Dark gets a little heavier. The girls unpack how to support someone who repeatedly ends up in toxic relationships and Holly opens up about her own experience of not being ready to hear the truth about a past partner. And finally, one of the creepiest Confessions yet. A Neighbour starts receiving urgent voice notes from her mum telling her to come over late at night. She drives to the house, only to discover her mum is asleep, never sent the messages and there is a strange car sitting outside waiting for her. Yeah... change your passwords, Neighbours. Key moments Steph and Holly attempt snowboarding: the girls head to Mount Buller with Red Bull for their first proper lesson with Olympian Valentino Guseli. Val skips the beginner slope entirely: instead of starting on the magic carpet, he takes two complete beginners straight to the top of the mountain and tells them the faster they go, the easier it gets. The girls absolutely eat it: scorpions, face plants, suspected broken wrists, popped shoulders and Val casually doing flips over them while they lie in the snow. The truth about Mount Buller hookup culture: the girls investigate snowmances, après, holiday crushes and whether Buller is secretly Australia's best dating app. Skiers vs snowboarders: the mountain weighs in on who is hotter, who has more rizz and why snowboarders apparently struggle to string a sentence together. The Buller cheating revenge story: one woman discovers her boyfriend has been sleeping around, exposes him during Never Have I Ever and then gets revenge with his best friend... in a tree at the top of the mountain. He calls his girlfriend “cobber”: a European Neighbour is dating an Aussie bloke who refuses to call her babe but happily uses mate, bro, dawg, buddy and cobber. The workplace restructure: a Neighbour gets a job through his mate, only for that mate to later lose his own job and start acting like his friend stole it from him. Helping someone in a toxic relationship: the girls discuss when to speak up, when to back off and why pushing too hard can sometimes make someone defend their partner even more. Holly reflects on her own toxic relationship: Steph explains why she had to wait until Holly was ready to hear the truth, and Holly shares how differently she sees the situation now. The terrifying AI voice note: a Neighbour receives messages in her mum's voice telling her to come over, only to discover her mum is asleep and there is a suspicious car sitting outside waiting for her. The conversation that sets up next week: the deepfake story leads the girls into a much bigger conversation about personal safety, suspicious situations while travelling and the human trafficking episode to come. Ana Cannon FINALLY Gets Her Right of Reply on Dan Gorringe
2026/08/11
Dan Gorringe and Ana Cannon have officially entered Girls Next Door… and for Ana’s very first podcast, we’re finally giving her the right of reply. After years of Dan putting his life online, Ana gets her chance to reveal what it’s actually like being married to him. We’re talking questionable tattoos, blue hair ruining their first family holiday photos, screaming about footy while Poppy sleeps, the content voice she cannot stand and the media controversy that had Ana telling Dan, “we’re getting a divorce.” Then, we finally get the REAL story of how Dan and Ana got together… including the tiny detail that Ana originally went to the house to see Dan’s housemate, met Dan and called her mum the next morning to say, “I’ve gone for the wrong one.” They take us through secretly seeing each other, breaking up, Dan heading into Big Brother, finding their way back to each other and eventually becoming parents to Poppy. Plus, we get into their biggest relationship arguments, who apologises first, Dan’s very questionable approach to housework, parenting rules they immediately abandoned, whether baby number two is on the cards and the reality of trying to balance family life with living your life online. And of course, the Neighbours have some dilemmas of their own. Is using your baby as an excuse to skip family events fair game? And should you blow your entire savings on your dream wedding? We finish things off with Dan and Ana facing the media in our first ever post-podcast press conference. Make sure you rate, hit subscribe and send this episode to your friends, because that’s what good Neighbours do.Key moments Ana’s Right of Reply: Ana finally gets the microphone to respond to years of Dan's chaos. The tattoo that sent Ana over the edge: including the enormous Collingwood/Nick Daicos tattoo despite Dan not supporting Collingwood. Dan ruined their first family holiday photos: thanks to his electric blue hair. The controversy that nearly broke Ana: she reveals Dan's media pile-on became so intense she told him, “we’re getting a divorce.” How Dan and Ana REALLY met: Ana went over to see Dan's housemate and immediately realised she'd “gone for the wrong one.” Their secret relationship: sliding into the DMs, seeing each other privately and navigating mutual friends. The breakup that changed Dan's life: Ana questioned what Dan was doing with his life, they broke up, and he applied for Big Brother that same night. Relationship therapy: who apologises first, who holds grudges, their biggest recurring argument and why Dan is constantly on his phone. Parenting Poppy: screens, swearing, 3am drives, their first night as parents and whether they want another baby. Poppy repeating their swear words is particularly funny. Neighbour dilemmas: using your baby to escape family commitments and whether a dream wedding is worth wiping out your savings. The post-match press conference: Ana declares herself best on ground, says Dan hindered her performance and confirms she'd happily return without him.
