014 - The Slow Unbinding of the Fully Alive
2026/10/21
If you're a new creation in Christ, why do you still struggle with the same fears, insecurities, shame, and patterns from your old life?In this episode of Between Sundays, Neil Broere explores three central themes from his new book, Graveclothes: The Slow Unbinding of the Fully Alive. In John 11, Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead, but Lazarus emerges from the tomb still wrapped in his burial clothes. He is fully alive, yet still bound by what belonged to his former condition. It's a powerful picture of what many Christians experience: genuinely made new in Christ, but still learning to live in the freedom they've received.Through Scripture, personal stories from his years living in Iraq, and the lives of Gideon, Naomi, Peter, and others, Neil explores the difference between our identity in Christ and the things that still need to be transformed. In this episode, you'll discover:-Why God's declaration about your identity is true before your life fully reflects it.-How to recognize the difference between who you are in Christ and the fears, failures, and wounds that still affect you.-Why lasting transformation isn't accomplished by trying harder, but through the renewing work of the Holy Spirit. The graveclothes you still carry don't determine who you are. Jesus does.📖 GRAVECLOTHES — AVAILABLE DECEMBER 1Pre-order Graveclothes: The Slow Unbinding of the Fully Alive and its companion study guide at https://www.neilbroere.com.Pre-orders placed through the website will be personally signed and shipped ahead of the December 1 release.

013 - He Remembers We Are But Dust (Genesis Series)
2026/10/07
What does it actually mean to be made in the image and likeness of God?
In this episode of Between Sundays, we continue our journey through Genesis by looking at Genesis 1:26–28 and the creation of humanity. We’ll explore what it means to bear God’s image, why He gave mankind dominion over creation, and how the command to “be fruitful and multiply” becomes one of the major redemptive themes running through the entire Bible.
We’ll also look at the deeply personal picture of God as the Divine Potter—the God who stoops into the dust, forms humanity with His own hands, and breathes His own life into us. “He knows our frame; He remembers that we are but dust.”
Finally, we’ll consider the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, why love requires boundaries, and how Jesus comes as the Last Adam to recover what the first Adam lost.
And perhaps most astonishing of all: Jesus did not abandon His humanity when He ascended. A Man is now seated at the right hand of the Father. Humanity has been brought into the fellowship of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

012 - All Beginnings Begin With God (Genesis Series)
2026/09/22
The Bible opens with four words that establish everything that follows: “In the beginning God.”
In this first episode of a NEW SERIES through the book of Genesis, we look at Genesis 1:1–25 and what creation reveals about the Creator. Genesis isn’t simply explaining where everything came from—it shows us a God who brings order out of chaos, speaks light into darkness, and faithfully moves what He begins toward His intended purpose.
In this episode:
• Why all beginnings must begin with God
• How God brings order through His Word
• Why the light of Genesis 1 points directly to Jesus
• What creation teaches us about seasons that still feel unfinished
• Why your identity and purpose begin in the heart of God
Whatever feels empty, unformed, or dark in your life, Genesis reminds us that God does not abandon what He begins.

011 - To a Land I Will Show You
2026/08/05
God called Abraham to leave everything he had ever known and follow Him into a land he had never seen. He was given no map, no destination, and no explanation—only a command to go and a promise that God would be with him. That is still the call of the gospel. In this episode of Between Sundays: The Podcast, we explore Genesis 12:1 and what Abraham’s journey teaches us about surrender, faith, and the intentional pursuit of God. Following Jesus requires us to come out of the life that once defined us, release the things that cannot come with us, and trust God with the destination. You cannot follow Jesus while remaining settled in the life He called you to leave. We’ll talk about:• Why Abraham had to leave his father’s house• How the things we carry from our old life can delay us• Why surrender must become a daily decision• The danger of allowing comfort and distraction to choke out fruitfulness• The difference between spiritual desire and actually seeking God• Why God delights in using weak, empty, and yielded vessels• The promise that God will be with us wherever He leads usGod is not looking for the most talented, impressive, powerful, or qualified. He is looking for those who are yielded and empty enough to be filled.------Want more content like this? 010 - God is Longing to Forgive
2026/07/15
Is God reluctant to forgive—or have we misunderstood Him?
In this episode of Between Sundays, Neil explores several encounters in the life of Jesus that reveal a God who is compassionate, gracious, slow to anger, and ready to forgive. Through the paralytic lowered through the roof, the woman who anointed Jesus’ feet, the woman caught in adultery, and the prodigal son, we see Jesus repeatedly remove the religious barriers that keep people from receiving grace.
Forgiveness is not something we earn by finding the perfect words, producing enough sorrow, or proving that we have changed. Repentance begins when we come alive to the truth that God is far better than we believed—and turn toward Him in faith.
The Father is not standing at the door with His arms crossed, waiting for you to explain yourself. He is already running down the road to meet you.

009 - God Demonstrates Himself Through His People
2026/07/01
God’s plan for revealing Himself to the world has always involved His people.Throughout Scripture, when God wants to confront injustice, bring deliverance, or make His nature known, He calls men and women who will rightly represent Him. We are not merely saved from something—we are restored as image-bearers who demonstrate what life in the kingdom of God looks like.In this episode of Between Sundays, Neil explores what it means to become a person through whom God can reveal Himself. We look at Moses, Paul, and the early disciples to see how God forms people who reflect His character, carry His presence, and participate in His work.Hebrews 11:6 tells us that God rewards those who diligently seek Him. The invitation is not to settle for a distant or passive faith, but to press on, lay hold of God, behold Jesus, and allow the Holy Spirit to transform us into His image. The hurting people around us are waiting to see what God is like. The question is whether our lives are showing them an accurate picture. In this episode:• Why God chooses to work through people• What it means to be an image-bearer• How seeking God transforms us• Why faith requires intentional pursuit• How to become a yielded vessel God can use“Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” — Hebrews 11:6

008 - The Wilderness of Repentance and the Life of the Spirit
2026/06/17
Repentance is essential—but it was never meant to become the entire Christian life.In this episode of Between Sundays: The Podcast, Neil Broere teaches from Matthew 3:1–17 and explores the difference between the wilderness of repentance and the life of the Spirit. Many believers have genuinely turned to Jesus, but remain stuck in cycles of guilt, introspection, confession, and self-correction. They have reached the trailhead of faith, but have never stepped fully into the journey of life in Christ. In this episode, you’ll discover:-Why repentance is more than changing your behavior-The danger of building your relationship with God around your mistakes-Why repentance can bring you to the starting line but cannot transform you-The difference between being sin-conscious and God-conscious-How the Holy Spirit leads us beyond forgiveness into freedom-What it means to walk with God instead of continually trying to get back to HimThe invitation of the gospel is not simply to leave your old life behind. It is to follow Jesus, receive His Spirit, and step into the life that has been made possible through union with Him.Repentance turns you, but only the Spirit transforms you.------Want more content like this? 007 - Righteous, Holy, & Whole
2026/06/03
What if the way you see yourself is contradicting what Jesus says about you?
In this episode of Between Sundays, Neil confronts the spirit of religion and the lie that the finished work of Christ was not enough to make us righteous and holy. Through mulitple passages of Scripture, we unpack what it means for believers to be made righteous, holy, and whole in Christ.
This conversation challenges old covenant thinking, exposes the limits of self-effort, and invites you to hear God’s declaration over your life: in Christ, you are not unclean, barely tolerated, or spiritually second-class. You are the righteousness of God, the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit, and a new creation.
Wholeness does not begin when you finally get yourself together. It begins when you hear the name God calls you.

006 - God Comes Where He's Wanted
2026/05/20
In this episode of Between Sundays, Neil Broere teaches from Jeremiah 29:13, Hebrews 11:6, and Psalm 27 on what it means to seek God with the whole heart. Many believers want more of God, but we have also learned how to live without the manifest presence, power, and nearness of God in our everyday lives.
This teaching is a call back to hunger. Back to the secret place. Back to a life that refuses to settle for distant belief when Jesus has invited us into continual communion.
God comes where He's wanted. He rewards those who diligently seek Him. And He is still looking for men and women whose hearts are fully given to Him.

005 - Walk Worthy
2026/05/06
In Ephesians 4, Paul calls the church to “walk worthy” of the calling we have received. But before he ever tells us how to walk, he spends three chapters showing us what God has already done.
That order is important.
The gospel is not, “Walk worthy so God will bless you.” The gospel is, “Because God has already blessed you with every spiritual blessing in Christ…therefore, walk worthy.”
In this episode, Neil walks through Paul’s language in Ephesians 4 and shows how our lives are meant to carry the weight of the grace we’ve been given. The sacrifice of Jesus is not something we admire from a distance. It is something we respond to with our whole lives.
And thankfully, God has not left us to walk worthy in our own strength. He has given us the Holy Spirit, gifted leaders, and the Body of Christ to form us, equip us, and mature us until the invisible Christ becomes visible through His people again.
Refuse the lie of independence, walk worthy together, and show the world what God is like.

004 - Grace Seated In Christ
2026/04/13
Grace is more than forgiveness for your past. It is the power of God that saves you, seats you with Christ, and puts His nature on display through your life. In this episode, Neil teaches from Ephesians 2:1–10 and shows how the gospel is not just about being rescued us from sin, but about being brought into union, authority, and a whole new way of living. If you’ve ever thought of grace as only the doorway into Christianity, this teaching will help you see that grace is also the atmosphere of the entire Christian life.

003 - Made in God's Image
2026/04/13
This episode centers on one of the great mysteries at the heart of the gospel: union with God. Using Ephesians 1:7–10 as a springboard, Neil shows what it means to be created in the image of God, what was lost in Adam, and what has been restored in Christ. This teaching pushes past a gospel of mere sin management and into the staggering reality that God’s design was always to gather us into oneness with Himself.
From Genesis to Ephesians, this message traces the story of humanity’s separation from God and Christ’s rescue mission to restore us to our original design. Neil shows that salvation is not the finish line, but the doorway into a life of union, communion, and re-presenting God in the earth. This episode will challenge the shallow assumptions many believers have inherited and call listeners into the deeper mystery of what it means to live in Christ.

002 - Mustard Seed Faith
2026/04/13
In this episode, Neil takes a fresh look at one of Jesus’ most misunderstood teachings on faith. We unpack Matthew 17 and show that Jesus was not talking about the size of faith, but its quality. This teaching looks at the difference between saving faith and mountain-moving faith, and why pressure, testing, and even suffering often become the very places where faith matures most.
Drawing from Scripture, personal stories from ministry in Iraq, and the example of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15, Neil shows how God uses difficulty to grow our faith. This episode is for anyone walking through pressure, silence, confusion, or trial—and needing to be reminded that God is not against them. He is growing them.

001 - What's My Role In Being Born Again?
2026/03/27
Are we passive in salvation, or does God require a response God requires from us? In this episode, Neil Broere answers a question many people wonder: What’s my role in being born again? He explores the difference between earning salvation and receiving it. Neil unpacks faith, surrender, and repentance as the human response to God's grace of God. Neil also offers two practical ways to examine whether we are truly born again: grief over sin and the fruit of the Spirit. This is a clear, searching, gospel-centered conversation about what new birth really looks like.
