Monfils' bizarre bow-out; a career that deserved a French farewell. Preview of Ningbo, Osaka, Almaty, Brussels and Lyon; busy show, lots to discuss. Can Rybakina get back to winning ways in Ningbo?
2026/10/18
In the episode I look ahead to the men coming back west, with tournaments in Lyon and Brussels plus another in Almaty, Kazakhstan, while for the women, they stay in Asia with a 500 in Ningbo and a 250 in Osaka. Can Rybakina get back on track, is she healthy? What about Alex Eala? Separately, why has Gael Monfils gone into dark mode and retired himself without a bye or a leave for his legion of French fans? I talk about Aryna Sabalenka, Rafa Jodar (who plays for a podcast winner at 40/1 overnight in the Shanghai final!), along with plenty more! 00:00 intro 02:35 Six Kings canned03:43 Jodar’s behavioral challenges 05:20 Sabalenka woes continue 06:29 Djokovic pulling out all the stops for Turin 09:35 Three legends bow out, but in differing circumstances 15:00 Hat tip to Sonay Kartal 17:42 WTA Ningbo25:17 WTA Osaka 30:13 ATP European Open 35:18 ATP Rhone-Alpes 40:30 ATP Almaty Thank you for listening, I’d be very obliged if you could share with a friend and interact with the pod or any of the content on social media, and as always, give a follow and a good rating if you enjoyed it, cheers.
Zheng Qinwen is a superstar! This is my Wuhan preview but I have to pay homage to the Chinese superstar for how she performed in Beijing #tennis
2026/10/12
Zheng Qinwen produced incredible tennis from the quarter finals on to win a huge 1000 in Beijing in her home capital. Make no mistake, this player is a total superstar and her ceiling is HIGH! Are we looking at a future number one? She could leave the singing to Tyson Furey though! I preview WTA Wuhan, and give my bets, plus I tell you why Sascha Zverev is a total a**00:00 intro 02:10 Zheng Qinwen is a superstar 07:24 Six Kings 09:00 Zverev piggery 10:40 Quick look at ATP Shanghai 13:10 WTA Wuhan preview and bets Please rate highly if you like the pod, pls follow and share with any of your tennis loving community! Shanghai Sans Sinner! Despite the Italian's absence, we have a great field in Shanghai where motivation won't be lacking with World Tour Finals qualification to the forefront of players' minds.
2026/10/06
A short podcast episode today where I jump straight into ATP Shanghai and go through the draw and who I fancy. With World Tour Finals qualification high on everyone’s mind, there’ll be no shortage of motivation in Shanghai. I have a feeling Djokovic won’t play; as of now, he is in the draw and of course I could be wrong, but let’s see after the Beijing final, where I really hope he wins in a couple of hours time against Alex de Minaur. Thanks for listening, don’t forget to follow on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, and pls give a 5-star rating if you like the show. Both of those things help me reach more listeners. Much obliged, until next time.
Djokovic moves to 32-0! Crazy stuff in Beijing where he defeats Sascha Zverev to keep the year end #1 race interesting despite Sinner pulling out of Shanghai #tennis
2026/10/05
Novak Djokovic has made more history by moving to an insane 32-0 at Beijing by defeating Sascha Zverev in the Chinese capital today. He’s not home yet as Daniil Medvedev lies in wait in the semis but I think Djokovic can beat him and should be favored by the market, which he's currently not. Sinner announced his withdrawal from Shanghai today while Elena Rybakina is out of Wuhan; both withdrawals having large implications on the year end races. 00:00 intro 01:15 Nadal Slam! 03:15 Sinner out of Shanghai04:44 some changes on the WTA 11:40 Ljubicic back on the circuit! 16:01 Asian games; heartbreak for Eala 18:18 Rybakina withdraws from Wuhan 20:03 a look at Tokyo and Beijing so far Please follow if you like the content, send to a friend, leave a good rating, I love all the interactions. Thanks for listening.
The King of Beijing! Novak Djokovic puts his perfect 29-0 record on the line in the Chinese capital. I think he's a big danger to win it all! Plus, a look at the WTA 1000 in Beijing and ATP Tokyo 500
2026/09/29
Djokovic returns to his best ever tournament, putting a 29-0 perfect record on the line. I think he’s very live to pull out a win and he’s in our list of picks here. Elsewhere, Tokyo, playing a lot faster than Beijing, sees a loaded top half with Alcaraz and Fritz on course for a repeat in the semis of last year’s final. Find out who I think takes advantage in the bottom half. In WTA Beijing, we have a totally stacked field, but even though Rybakina, Gauff, Sabalenka and Swiatek are here, I’m looking past them for my bets and a little further down the field. 00:00 intro 01:50 my unpopular Laver Cup reel 05:19 the grand slam player council 09:26 the Nadal Academy Slam! 11:45 WTA Beijing 100020:56 ATP Beijing 50016:38 ATP Tokyo 500Thanks for listening, I need you to pls follow on Spotify or Apple Podcasts if you’re not already and please give me a good rating if you enjoy the show. Thanks a lot!
Sinner out of the Asian Swing? Will we see him at all before the Aussie Open? Zverev year end number one take a big move forward, and why I have no time for the Laver Cup!
2026/09/26
Sinner pulls out of Beijing but I fear we won’t see him at all now until Vienna at the earliest or perhaps even Australia in January which to me is almost more likely at this point. That would open the door even further for a Sascha Zverev year end world number one. Some bizarre stuff with a concussion forcing Prozorova out of the Singapore semi finals, I look at the Laver Cup, the Billie Jean King cup where the Czechs should take home the silverware, and finish off with a quick look at the remaining matches in Chengdu, Seoul, Hangzhou and Singapore 00:00 intro01:11 Sinner out of Beijing03:59 Zverev year end number one? 05:36 Prozorova 08:35 Arthur Fils messes up in Tokyo 10:15 Laver Cup thoughts15:20 BJK Cup final17:52 Singapore Seoul Chengdu and Hangzhou Thank you for listening. Can Medvedev be beaten in Hangzhou? He's certainly the star attraction, but I've got some opinions and long shots, both there and in Chengdu. I'm looking at you Coleman Wong et al....
2026/09/22
The men’s tour joins the women’s in the trip east and settles in Hangzhou and Chengdu for a pair of 250s this week. Daniil Medvedev is the star attraction but at his price he’s an easy swerve for me. I’ve got some very tasty long shots in here, and I also tell you which players to avoid based on some rather dramatic Davis Cup trans-world travel in the past day or so! 00:00 intro 01:14 Seoul and Singapore bets 03:33 #2 tennis podcast in Czechia! 🇨🇿 05:19 ATP Chengdu preview and picks 10:05 ATP Hangzhou lookahead and bets Please follow on Instagram if you liked the show and I would be obliged if you can send it to a friend and give me a good rating and some likes and comments! Thank you and chat at the weekend.
WTA Singapore! Who got the best draw? Can Alex Eala win? How much would the tournament organizers love to see a Mirra Andreeva v Alex Eala final!? WTA Seoul is not as strong, but I preview that too!
2026/09/21
Singapore has attracted a very decent field here which I jump into in the later part of the show. I expect us to see a Mirra Andreeva vs Alex Eala final, and wouldn’t the tournament organisers be delighted to see that!? Amanda Anisimova might have something to say. I preview Seoul 250 in what is a weaker draw but also plenty of talent around, while I rue a huge missed opportunity squandered by Paula Badosa in São Paulo last week. 00:00 intro01:17 CBS!02:40 Running baaaad04:05 BAD-osa 06:45 WTA Seoul preview 16:51 WTA Singapore lookahead Thank you for listening, the show is available in video form on YouTube, and also in audio form anywhere you get your podcasts! WTA Guadalajara & WTA Sao Paulo previews and picks! The tour reaches Latin America; can Jovic defend in Mexico? Is Kostyuk bought in or is BJK Cup a distraction. Is Badosa the class in Brazil?
2026/09/14
Elena Rybakina won the US open in style and what a performance it was. I take a quick look back and then jump straight into the WTA 500 in Guadalajara, Mexico before previewing WTA 250 in São Paulo, Brazil. The field in Mexico is not bad, will Marta Kostyuk be bought in? Can Jovic defend? She looked super in New York. The field in Brazil is a lot weaker and it’s bookended by Leylah Fernandez and Paula Badosa but not a ton in between! Listen in for my picks. 00:00 intro02:23 Rybakina hits the top 05:33 slam number two for Zverev09:43 WTA Guadalajara preview and picks21:00 WTA São Paulo preview and picks Thanks for listening, please subscribe and give a good rating on Apple Podcasts or Spotify and follow on Instagram! US Open 2026; Sabalenka vs Rybakina will meet in the women's final. Can Tiafoe stop Shelton to set up a shot at eternal glory!? #tennis
2026/09/11
Listen along as I dive into the latter stages of the men's and women’s US Open 2026. A super comeback from Elena Rybakina today saw her take out home hope Coco Gauff and set up a mouthwatering final against Aryna Sabalenka which I look ahead to, along with a preview of the men’s semifinals tomorrow between Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton plus, in a much faster lookahead, Zverev v Khachanov! 00:00 intro02:22 Instagram reels04:50 New world number one 08:10 Pegula’s presser and her funny podcast with Josh Allen12:07 women’s review14:19 Sabalenka vs Rybakina 16:47 Men’s draw review and lookaheadPlease follow on Instagram, like, share and review if you like the pod! 2026 US Open week 2 Preview; Alcaraz Shelton blockbuster in store! Can Noskova beat Sabalenka, and will Rybakina get number one?
2026/09/07
I look ahead to week 2 of the 2026 US Open in New York. IS Jess Pegula still being underrated? Sabalenka looks better, but hasn't played much yet; that's about to change vs Linda Noskova! In the bottom, Coco Gauff is motoring but so too Andreeva, Swiatek and Rybakina. On the men's side, Alcaraz now faces Shelton. Can anyone stop Carlito? I speak on a strange interaction with Marketa Vondrousova in my DM's and why Serena seems to be this bad influence on her older sister. 00:00 intro 02:26 Vondrousova in my DMs 09:43 Tsitsipas 2.0 12:20 Serena and Venus skip press 15:19 Men's recap and look ahead 23:59 Women's recap and look ahead 37:23 Bets Pls follow on IG @insidethedraw if you like the content.
