Description

Mosaic Sparks with Lesley George is a bold personal-growth podcast for women ready to reclaim their voice, rebuild confidence, and turn life experiences into purpose, power, and action. Every woman carries pieces. Some came from disappointment. Some came from transition, grief, ambition, reinvention, silence, survival, or seasons where she kept showing up without applause. Those pieces are not random. They hold receipts. They hold lessons. They hold the kind of wisdom that cannot be bought, borrowed, or faked. This podcast creates space for honest conversations about confidence, identity, healing, leadership, creativity, visibility, and becoming the woman you were always meant to be. Through personal stories, transformational insight, and practical reflection, each episode helps you look at your life with sharper vision and stronger language. Rooted in BRAGG™ and Unbox Your Brilliance™, this show speaks to the woman who knows there is more in her than what the world has seen. More voice. More vision. More authority. More creativity. More courage. More assignment. The good stuff has been sitting under the surface like a luxury item still wrapped in the box. Beautiful, valuable, and waiting to be opened with intention. Here, confidence becomes a daily decision. Purpose becomes something you practice. Healing becomes movement. Your story becomes material you can use to speak, write, lead, build, teach, create, and serve with greater impact. This podcast is for the woman navigating life transitions, rediscovering her identity, rebuilding self-worth, stepping into leadership, writing a new chapter, or learning to show up without shrinking her presence to fit the room. Expect real talk, personal growth strategies, women’s empowerment, confidence building, mindset shifts, storytelling, leadership lessons, and the kind of truth that makes you sit up a little straighter and say, “Wait a minute, that’s me.” Subscribe, share, and leave a positive review, and start turning your life’s pieces into purpose.

Anne Hill Escaped Scientology + Rescued by a Trucker
2026/10/21
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. hWhat happens when the tower you believed was protecting you becomes the place you need to leave? In Disney’s Tangled, Rapunzel grows up believing the world outside her tower is dangerous. In this episode of Mosaic Sparks™, I connect that story to Ann Gollert Hill’s personal account of leaving Scientology after nearly 20 years and starting over at 47. Ann describes the beliefs that made leaving feel terrifying, the family love that gave her somewhere safe to land, and the emotional work of learning to trust herself again. Like Rapunzel questioning the life she had always known, Ann began imagining a future beyond the limits she had been taught to accept. Our conversation invites you to examine your own tower. Could it be a role you have outgrown, a relationship where you silence yourself, or a belief that keeps you afraid to begin again? Listen as we explore identity, emotional honesty, and the small decisions that help you reclaim your voice. Your next chapter deserves a chance to be lived. Ann’s account reflects her personal recollections, perspectives, and opinions. Mosaic Sparks™ has not independently verified all statements shared. Where your voice travels
2026/10/18
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. Where is your voice reaching, and whose life could it touch when you choose to use it? In this personal episode of Spark in 10, I welcome Mosaic Sparks™ listeners from the Seychelles, Abbeville, South Carolina, and Madrid, Spain. Seeing the Seychelles on my listener map brings back childhood memories of living on Mahé and visiting Victoria’s familiar clock tower. A place I once called home is now part of the community hearing my voice. That unexpected connection opens a conversation about gratitude, confidence, and using your gifts with intention. I reflect on what it means to create something useful, show up consistently, and appreciate the person listening on the other side of the microphone. There is room for your story here, too. Whether you are celebrating a milestone, finally having a difficult conversation, or carrying responsibilities that leave you tired, this episode offers a moment to pause and acknowledge where you are. In this episode, we explore: • How a childhood connection to the Seychelles became a meaningful podcast moment. • Why your voice can reach people in ways you may never get to see. • Giving yourself credit for progress you worked hard to make. • Making room for both celebration and honest conversations about difficult seasons. • Living out BRAGG™: Be Responsible for Amplifying God’s Gifts in you. As you listen, consider this: What experience could you share that might help someone else take their next step? Continue the conversation in Spark Out Loud, my free community on Skool. Introduce yourself, tell me where you are listening from, and share something you are working toward. Follow Mosaic Sparks™, share this episode with someone who could use a little encouragement, and join me as we Unbox Your Brilliance™ together. How Can You Say the Right Words and Still Lose Someone’s Trust?
2026/10/14
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. Do people know your value, or have they just memorized your tone? That question sounds simple until you remember the last time you gave the “right” answer and still watched someone shut down. We’re taking a fun but practical leadership lens to Roz from Disney and Pixar’s Monsters Inc to talk about communication skills that actually change how customers, coworkers, and teams experience you. I start with a real customer service moment: a DoorDash alert says my order failed, the restaurant says the driver picked it up, and I’m still sitting there without tacos. That story makes one thing obvious fast: being factually correct doesn’t automatically make your communication effective. We dig into what it looks like to acknowledge an unresolved problem, explain what you can verify, and give a clear next step so people don’t feel dismissed. Then we break down three workplace lessons through Roz’s perspective: make room for the person while you explain the process, keep your tone from turning accountability into conflict, and learn to explain why your contribution matters. If you’re the one who follows up, catches errors, returns incomplete work, or protects deadlines, you’ll get language you can use immediately to communicate your value with confidence and clarity. How to Acknowledge People Effectively
2026/10/05
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. Have you ever felt an instant connection with someone because they remembered your name or recognized where you came from? Those small details can open a conversation and leave a lasting impression. In How to Acknowledge People Effectively, Lesley George explores a simple leadership practice: giving people specific recognition. Drawing from her experience as a Caribbean American woman, she shares why seeing a Disney cast member’s name and hometown on their badge makes her smile, and how that attention to identity creates an opportunity for connection. This Spark in 10 offers a practical prompt for recognizing someone’s contribution with words that show you paid attention. Whether you lead a team, run a business, volunteer, or want to strengthen your everyday relationships, thoughtful acknowledgment gives you a way to help people feel seen and valued. We’re also celebrated six months of Mosaic Sparks™ on October 4, thanking the Sparklers who make this podcast a joy to produce, and welcoming new listeners in Berlin, Germany; Greenwich, Connecticut; and the Dominican Republic. Stop Saying You Don't Care: How Feedback Drives Business Growth
2026/09/30
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. Just like Meg in Hercules, business owners love to pretend they don't care. But the truth is, caring about customer feedback, reviews, and surveys is the only real path to business growth. A review request arrived about three days after I purchased from a company. While completing it, I started thinking about how comfortable we are offering feedback and how uncomfortable we can become when someone reviews our own work. We know the effort behind what we deliver. Hearing that someone left confused or disappointed can sting, especially when we genuinely believe we gave our best. In this episode of Mosaic Sparks™ with Lesley George, we explore what we mean when we say, “I don’t care what people think.” Sometimes we are setting a boundary around advice we never requested. Other times, we are trying to close a conversation before it reaches a tender place. Meg from Disney’s Hercules brings an emotional thread to this conversation through her reluctance to acknowledge how deeply she cares. Her guarded attitude opens the door to examining our own responses when honest feedback leaves us feeling exposed. Whether you own a business or are growing in your career, this episode offers practical ways to receive feedback with confidence and decide what deserves your attention. You’ll hear how to: Set Clear Boundaries: Learn how to handle unsolicited advice without getting defensive. Ask Better Questions: Turn vague, unhelpful criticism into highly useful information. Spot Recurring Patterns: Recognize exactly when a customer concern needs a closer look. Leverage Positive Reviews: Identify your hidden strengths so you can develop them further. Take Actionable Steps: Follow through on feedback with simple, practical adjustments. What feedback have you dismissed before giving it a chance to make sense? Bring that question with you as you listen. Caring about the experience you create gives you a reason to stay curious and keep improving. How to Stop Letting Yourself Down: The Art of Self-Integrity
2026/09/28
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. A promise can feel easy to make when the calendar is clear and everyone is excited. Keeping it months later, when schedules clash and your motivation has packed a bag, is a different conversation. In December, a few family members and I made a commitment that would carry us through 2026. By September, I was seriously considering backing out. I had reasons that made sense, too. Yet I kept thinking about the people who knew what I had promised and what quitting would mean to me. This week on Spark in 10, I’m talking about the uncomfortable side of accountability. Why do we hesitate to tell people about our goals? What happens to our confidence when we repeatedly talk ourselves out of following through? I’ll share what one difficult day taught me about self-integrity and the trust we build in ourselves, one decision at a time. Listen in, then ask yourself: Who knows about the promise you’re trying to keep? Share this episode with someone working toward a goal, and leave a review to help another Sparkler find us. Stop hiding your gifts and talents
2026/09/23
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. Miguel loved music, but in Disney and Pixar’s Coco, his family’s painful history taught him to keep it hidden. He practiced in secret, bound by a rule that began long before he was born. His story raises a question many of us recognize in our own lives: what happens when fear is passed down along with the gifts we are meant to develop? In this episode of Mosaic Sparks™, Lesley George connects Miguel’s journey with the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. The servant who buried what was entrusted to him could return it, but he never gave it a chance to grow. Lesley explores how protecting a gift can feel responsible, especially when we understand the pain behind the warning, and why there comes a time to decide what we will do with what we have been given. You will hear how the BRAGG™ framework helps you recognize your gift, record the proof of what you have done, respect its value, raise your voice, and reach back to help someone else. You do not need a large audience to make an impact. Sometimes your gift reaches the person who needs it most in one conversation, one room, or one brave moment. Listen, then choose one meaningful way to use your gift this week. Explore BRAGG™ at braggworld.com, and continue the journey to Unbox Your Brilliance™. Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. What should you wear to a golf course, and what can a collared shirt teach you about confidence? In this bonus Spark in 10 episode, Lesley shares a light golf course dress code lesson inspired by her day on the green. She connects the experience to Mulan and explains how learning the expectations of a new environment helps you enter prepared, confident, and ready to contribute. Remember to check the golf course's specific dress requirements before arriving. We also welcome our newest Mosaic Sparks™ listeners in Singapore and Madrid, Spain. O.W.N Your Voice When You Feel Outnumbered
2026/09/15
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. What happened to the girl who always had something to say? She was curious, expressive, and comfortable being seen. Then she entered rooms where few people shared her background, culture, or life experience. She began studying the room, measuring her words, and waiting for permission to use the voice that once came naturally. In this episode of Mosaic Sparks™with Lesley George examines what happens when being the only one causes a woman to question the very qualities that earned her a place in the room. The conversation is inspired by filmmaker May el Toukhy, the only female director among 21 filmmakers in the main competition at the 2026 Venice Film Festival. Her film, Woman Unknown, received the Golden Lion, the festival’s highest honor. Lesley connects this historic achievement with lessons from Disney and Pixar’s WALL E, a robot who continued working when every other robot of his kind had stopped. Although WALL E appeared small and outdated, he carried the living plant that represented humanity’s future. His story reminds us that the person who looks least like the expected leader may carry the perspective, idea, or solution that everyone else has overlooked. Lesley also shares her experience as the only Black woman serving on a nonprofit board. There were moments when she remained quiet and waited for permission, even though she had earned her place at the table. Over time, she released the story that made her question herself, reclaimed the voice she had used freely as a child, and eventually became the organization’s first Black president.  Through the O.W.N. lessons, I challenge women to own their place in the room, let go of their need for permission, and name their gift so they can use it. O: Own Your Place in the RoomW: Withdraw Your Need for PermissionN: Name Your Gift and Use ItGod does not make mistakes, and you are not one. Your voice, experience, personality, and perspective carry value. Someone may be waiting for the insight you have almost convinced yourself to withhold. Joy: The Pressure to Always Be Okay
2026/09/09
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. What happens when “I’m fine” becomes the answer we give because we cannot explain what we feel, do not feel safe enough to tell the truth, or believe everyone expects us to keep smiling? In this episode of Mosaic Sparks™, Lesley George explores Joy from Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out through the lens of emotional honesty, leadership, relationships, and everyday life. Joy means well, yet her determination to keep everything cheerful leaves little room for sadness, fear, anger, and disappointment. Many women experience the same pressure at work, at home, in church, and even within themselves. They hold the room together while quietly falling apart behind the familiar words, “I’m fine.” This conversation examines the difference between genuine joy and performed happiness. You will learn why every emotion carries information, how constant emotional masking affects confidence and connection, and how to respond when someone may need more than a quick “How are you?” Lesley also celebrates everyone marking a special milestone in September and shares her gratitude for Mosaic Sparks™ reaching the top 10 percent of podcasts globally on Listen Notes on the exact day the show turned five months old. Special love goes to the Sparklers listening in San Antonio, Texas, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and around the world. You helped make this moment possible. Stop Editing Yourself: How to Tell Your Story with Holly Totten
2026/09/01
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. What if the story you keep calling ordinary is the story someone else has been waiting to hear? In Part One of this special Mosaic Sparks conversation, Lesley George steps onto the other side of the microphone as a guest on The Edit with nonfiction book editor and writing coach Holly Totten. Lesley and Holly explore why your story already has value, how self-editing too early can weaken your authentic voice, and why your personal experiences belong in your writing, leadership, business, and legacy. They also discuss the relationship between an author and a publisher, the importance of protecting the author’s voice during editing, and the unforgettable red pen experience that shaped Lesley’s philosophy as a publisher. This episode answers important questions, including: • How do you tell your story without losing your authentic voice? • What makes a personal story worth sharing? • How can writers stop editing themselves before their stories have a chance to develop? • Why do personal stories build trust, community, and legacy? • How can an editor or publisher strengthen a manuscript without erasing the author’s personality? If you have been questioning whether your experience is significant enough to write, speak about, or share publicly, this conversation will help you see your story differently. Who Needs You to Show Up? The Power of Mentorship and Legacy
2026/08/26
Thank for listening. Let me know what you liked best. Who showed up for you when they did not have to? Perhaps it was the person who sat in the audience, reviewed your application, recommended you for an opportunity, made an introduction, or reminded you of your ability when your confidence was running low. You may not remember every word that person said, but you remember how their presence made you feel. In this episode of Mosaic Sparks™, Lesley George explores mentorship, emotional presence, and legacy through the unexpected relationship between Carl and Russell in the movie Up. Russell enters Carl’s life as an energetic Wilderness Explorer trying to earn his final badge for assisting an older person. He believes Carl is the person who needs his help. As their journey unfolds, we discover that Russell also needs something. He needs guidance, encouragement, and an adult willing to show up for him. One of Russell’s most meaningful memories involves sitting on a curb with his father, eating ice cream, and counting cars. The activity was simple, yet the attention made it unforgettable. His story reminds us that people rarely need an elaborate gesture to feel valued. Sometimes they need a conversation, an introduction, a seat at the table, or one familiar face in the audience. Carl never announces that he is becoming Russell’s mentor. Their relationship develops as Carl begins to listen, protect, encourage, and recognize the emotional need behind Russell’s enthusiasm. Russell initially feels like an interruption to Carl’s carefully protected life. Over time, Carl realizes that showing up for Russell gives him another meaningful way to participate in life. Near the end of the movie, Carl attends Russell’s badge ceremony and celebrates him during a moment when someone important is missing. Carl’s presence communicates a message Russell desperately needs to receive: You are seen. You are valued. You do not have to experience this moment alone. This episode delivers three powerful lessons: People remember who showed up. Influence often develops through ordinary moments. A phone call, encouraging message, introduction, or familiar face in the audience can remain with someone for years.Experience becomes legacy when someone else can access it. Your résumé records what you have accomplished. Your legacy reveals who became stronger because you shared what you learned.Specific encouragement helps people recognize their gifts. General praise feels good for a moment. Specific encouragement gives someone language for an ability she may have treated as ordinary. This episode connects mentorship to the BRAGG™ confidence framework: Be Responsible for Amplifying God’s Gifts and Greatness in you. Amplification includes communicating your value with confidence. It also includes helping another person recognize and use the gifts developing inside her. Mature confidence knows how to say, “I belong in this room.” Mature confidence also knows how to say someone else’s name in a room she has not entered yet. Your BRAGG™ action is to identify one person you can intentionally encourage this week. Review her proposal, share an opportunity, make an introduction, attend her presentation, or clearly name the strength you see in her. Your greatest accomplishment may carry your name. Your deepest legacy may show what you helped someone else believe about herself. Listen to this episode, share it with a mentor who influenced your life, and send it to someone whose potential you recognize.
