EMERGENCY PODCAST: I’ll Go Broke Making Memories
2026/10/04
Send us Fan Mail Life gets busy, plans change, and sometimes you just can’t get behind the microphones. That’s exactly why Josh and Britt recorded this emergency episode ahead of time. It was made to sit on the shelf until one of those weeks when life got in the way. Well, apparently that week finally came. In this episode of Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt talk about travel, making memories, and why sometimes you just have to book the trip. Josh shares why traveling means so much to him after growing up without many opportunities to see the world, and why he wants his kids to have experiences he never had. They talk Disney, cruises, Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, New York City, the upcoming family trip through Asia, travel hacks, budgeting for vacations, and of course, planning trips around food. Then, like usual, the conversation gets completely off track. Adult kids leaving clothes on the bathroom floor, bad knees, getting older, football, changing priorities, and realizing there are some things you thought you would miss that you really don’t. It’s an emergency episode full of travel, family, food, memories, and the usual randomness. We’re still figuring it out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Apparently, That Wasn't God's Plan
2026/09/27
Send us Fan Mail We had a plan. We recorded the podcast. We thought we had a pretty good episode. Then we realized the whole thing was muted. 😂 So we did what two dads who are Still Figuring It Out do best: started over. This week, Josh and Britt talk about Proverbs 16:9: “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD determines his steps.” And honestly, we couldn’t have planned a better example of that verse if we tried. We talk about learning to roll with life when things don’t go according to plan, family, sports, upcoming travels, kids, softball, soccer, and why sometimes you just have to accept that you’re not in control. Then we somehow end up talking about Rube Waddell, one of the greatest and strangest baseball players who ever lived. A Hall of Fame pitcher who chased fire trucks during games, wrestled alligators, got distracted by puppies, disappeared to go fishing, and was apparently so good he sometimes told his fielders to stay in the dugout. Yeah. We couldn’t make this stuff up. Sometimes you make the plans. Sometimes God changes them. And sometimes your kids just hit mute. We’re still learning, still laughing, and definitely Still Figuring It Out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
More Than We Deserve
2026/09/13
Send us Fan Mail Why does God continue to bless us when we know we don’t deserve it? In this episode of Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt have an honest conversation about God’s grace, the blessings we often take for granted, the second chances we don’t always recognize, and the moments when God gives us far more than we could ever earn. From family and marriage to mistakes, closed doors, hard seasons, and the simple things we sometimes overlook, we talk about what it really means to receive something you didn’t earn and couldn’t deserve. We definitely don’t have all the answers. We’re just two guys still figuring it out, trying to understand why God is so good to us even when we fall short. Because at the end of the day, we have all been given more than we deserve. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
When God Starts Connecting the Dots
2026/09/06
Send us Fan Mail What happens when we say we’ve given something to God, but then turn around and try to take it back? In this week’s episode of Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt talk about worry, control, God’s timing, and what it really means to trust Him. After realizing that last week’s podcast about worry lined up almost perfectly with the following week’s Sunday school lesson, they reflect on how God has a way of connecting the dots in our lives and reminding us of what we need to hear. From wanting everything on our own timeline to struggling to let go of things we can’t control, Josh and Britt have an honest conversation about surrendering our plans to God. They also talk about the importance of having Christian friends who will encourage us, challenge us, and hold us accountable when we need it. Maybe we don’t always need to understand the entire plan. Maybe we just need to trust God with the next step. Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” We’re still figuring it out, but we’re learning that we don’t have to figure it all out alone. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
We're Not Supposed to Have It All Figured Out
2026/08/30
Send us Fan Mail Do you ever feel like you should have life figured out by now? In this episode of Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt talk about the pressure we put on ourselves to have the right career, the right finances, the right relationships, the right parenting approach, and the right answers. The problem is, life rarely works that way. They get real about parenting, career expectations, chasing success, wanting to control every situation, overthinking decisions, and the unrealistic expectations we sometimes place on ourselves and the younger generation. At the center of the conversation is Proverbs 3:5: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Sometimes we want to know the entire plan before we’re willing to take the next step. But faith doesn’t always mean knowing what’s coming. Sometimes it means trusting God enough to move forward without having all the answers. Josh and Britt also talk about the importance of recognizing how far we’ve already come, learning to surrender control, and understanding that detours can be part of the journey. Because the truth is, none of us have it all figured out. And that’s okay. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Are You Taking It Out on the People You Love?
2026/08/23
Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt have an honest conversation about stress, frustration, and how easy it can be to take our bad days out on the people we love most. Josh opens up about realizing that when he was uncomfortable, overwhelmed, or frustrated, he sometimes became short-tempered with his kids, even when they had done nothing wrong. That leads to a bigger conversation about recognizing when we’re reaching our limit, taking a moment to reset, and learning to respond instead of react. The guys also talk about parenting, marriage, giving your spouse time to recharge, work, life’s everyday frustrations, and why sometimes the people closest to us end up receiving the worst version of us. The episode eventually takes a deeper turn into faith as Josh and Britt discuss God’s will, unconditional love, and why they decided to start ending the podcast with Scripture. This week’s verse is James 1:19-20: “Everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, for man’s anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.” Sometimes the person we’re angry with isn’t really the problem. Sometimes we’re just tired, stressed, uncomfortable, or overwhelmed. The challenge is recognizing it before we take it out on someone else. We’re still figuring it out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
We’re Just Gonna Roll With It
2026/08/16
Send us Fan Mail In this episode of Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt prove once again that they are, in fact, still figuring it out. From recording glitches and chipmunk voices to losing half the episode and having the power go out mid-recording, nothing goes exactly according to plan. But instead of starting over, they decide to just roll with it. Josh and Britt talk about getting the kids back into school, watching their kids grow up way too fast, parenting, work, new opportunities, apprenticeships, softball, church, cornhole, and the everyday chaos that comes with trying to balance family, careers, faith, and life. It is not polished. It is not perfect. But it is real. Because sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan. Sometimes you just have to laugh, keep moving, and figure it out as you go. Welcome back to Still Figuring It Out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Three Lessons I Hope My Kids Learn From Me
2026/08/16
Send us Fan Mail If your kids could only learn three life lessons from you before leaving home, what would you want those lessons to be? Josh puts Britt on the spot with that question, leading to an honest conversation about faith, hard work, honesty, kindness, and serving others. They also talk about teaching kids about God at home, leading by example, parenting through different stages of life, and the lessons they are still trying to learn themselves. Josh also shares the emotional story of his mother accepting Christ after years of invitations, the influence his grandfather had on the way he shows love, and why the way parents live may matter even more than the words they say. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
When It Rains, It Pours… and Jerzey Pushes Buttons 🤣
2026/08/10
Send us Fan Mail When It Rains, It Pours… and Jerzey Pushes Buttons 🤣 We’re finally back! After losing an entire episode because the recording stopped five minutes in, we got busy, life got chaotic, and somehow a whole week passed without an episode. But we finally got back together and recorded this week’s episode. Everything was going great… until Jerzey pushed a button. 🤦‍♂️😂 So yes, we recorded the entire episode with Josh sounding like he was auditioning for a cartoon. But that’s pretty fitting for a podcast called Still Figuring It Out. We don’t edit much, we don’t always know what we’re doing, and apparently we can’t be trusted around buttons. This week we talk about Britt’s extremely hot camping trip, his late-night encounter with “people shooting at us”, Josh’s mission trip to Germany and baseball camp, and of course, the everyday chaos that comes with trying to balance family, work, travel, and life. It may not be perfect, but it’s real. And honestly, that’s what Still Figuring It Out is all about. Thanks for listening and sticking with us, even when we can’t seem to keep an episode from disappearing. 😂 We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Even Our Podcast Has Bad Days
2026/08/02
Send us Fan Mail Well… we thought we had recorded a great episode. Turns out, we talked for nearly an hour, but our recording only saved the first five minutes. Apparently, our podcast decided it had heard enough. We’ll be back later this week to record it again. Thanks for sticking with us. Even our podcast has bad days. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Is Love Really Unconditional?
2026/07/19
Send us Fan Mail Can people truly love unconditionally, or is that kind of love only possible for God? This unscripted conversation explores the difference between loving a spouse and loving children, whether love is a choice or a feeling, and what Scripture teaches about loving a spouse as Christ loved the church. The conversation also turns toward showing kindness to strangers, preparing for another mission trip to Germany, sharing the gospel through baseball, and the major differences between Christianity and the beliefs of Jehovah’s Witnesses. It is honest, unplanned, occasionally off track, and another reminder that everyone is still figuring it out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Just Keep Showing Up
2026/07/13
Send us Fan Mail Life gets busy. Between work, marriage, kids, church, and everything else on the calendar, sometimes even the best plans don’t work out. This episode may be a day late, but it’s a reminder that consistency matters more than perfection. Take a step back and think about what it means to keep showing up, even when you’re tired, overwhelmed, or feel like life is pulling you in every direction. Hear encouragement to finish what you start, trust God through every season, and remember that your family is watching how you respond when life gets hard. If you’ve been feeling stretched thin or like you’re barely keeping your head above water, this conversation is for you. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to keep showing up. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.

Just like usual, we’re still trying to figure it out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
Teaching What We’re Still Learning
2026/06/28
Send us Fan Mail This week on Still Figuring It Out, Josh and Britt dive into one of the hardest parts of parenting: discipline. But the conversation quickly turns into something bigger. How do we teach our kids self control when we’re still working on it ourselves? From homework, consequences, and cleaning bedrooms to patience, consistency, and leading by example, we talk honestly about what discipline looks like in our homes. We share stories about raising kids with different personalities, the importance of accountability, and why discipline is about training, not punishment. Along the way, we also discuss marriage, family routines, funny parenting moments, and the reality that we’re all still growing, just at different stages of life. Whether you’re a parent, preparing to become one, or simply trying to become more disciplined yourself, we hope this conversation encourages you to keep learning, keep leading, and keep showing up. As always, we’re just two dads… still figuring it out. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
No Mom, No Schedule, No Chance
2026/06/21
Send us Fan Mail This week, Josh and Britt talk about surviving while their wives are away, emergency room visits, sick kids, Falls Creek, flooded floors, Germany mission trip memories, and why dads sometimes operate with absolutely no schedule. Plus, a little NBA offseason talk, World Cup discussion, and the usual chaos that comes with trying to figure out life one week at a time. We appreciate y’all listening. If you got something out of this, share it with someone who’s still figuring it out too. We’ll catch y’all next time.
