***TOP 5% GLOBALLY RANKED PODCAST*** Are you craving more time for yourself and your family but ending each day so mentally exhausted you feel like you have nothing left to give? Do you feel like you don’t have the energy to keep up with it all—work, laundry, kids’ activities, appointments? Let’s not forget about the daily dreaded question, what’s for dinner?  On the outside it looks like you have it altogether but on the inside, you’re craving more fulfillment. What if you could finally slow down and pour back into yourself? Hieeyy, I’m Josie. A wife, a mom of three, and a soul seeker at heart. Several years ago, I found myself burnt out, unfulfilled, and mentally exhausted every… single… day. I was climbing the corporate ladder, chasing more money—while giving nothing back to myself. By the time I got home, my time and energy were depleted… and anxiety had taken over. You know that feeling—snapping at your kids without meaning to? My days weren’t filled with fulfillment… just never-ending to-do lists. I wasn’t living my day—I was surviving it. I realized I had to stop blaming my job for my burnout. If I wanted more time, more freedom, more purpose—I had to look inward. Because what was really draining me… was my own patterns—perfectionism, people-pleasing, and not setting boundaries. If you’re a high-achieving mom who looks like she has it all together—but inside you’re saying, “there’s never enough time, energy, or support”… And you’re ready to stop running on empty and start living with more intention… You’re in the right place. This podcast is your permission to slow down, to look inward, and to explore yourself in a deeper, more honest way. To step outside the pressure, the expectations, and the constant doing—and reconnect with who you truly are. Through simple mindset shifts and soulful conversations, you’ll begin to release the patterns that keep you overworked and overwhelmed. You’ll quiet the mental noise, soften the pressure, and create space to come back home to yourself… your divine self. Imagine… More peace.. More purpose. More space to breathe. If you’re ready to create more time in your day—and actually feel fulfilled living it—there’s a reason you’re here Super Mama! 24 | 3 Signs You’re in a Toxic Relationship & The Subconscious Belief Keeping You There With Dr. Wendy Burchett
2026/10/20
Do you find yourself walking on eggshells in your relationship, waiting for the "right moment" to bring up money, the kids, or what you need, because you're not sure how your partner will react? Have you ever caught yourself saying, "This is just how marriage is," while your life keeps getting smaller and smaller? Highlights of This Episode Mama, so many of us are holding it all together on the outside while something feels off on the inside. We're juggling work, kids, the mental load, and a relationship we tell ourselves is "fine," and we rarely stop long enough to ask whether it's actually healthy. That's exactly why I wanted to have this conversation. You can't be a calm, present mom when your nervous system is stuck on high alert, and you can't set healthy boundaries when you don't yet see the pattern you're living in. My guest today is Dr. Wendy Burchett, a licensed therapist who works with women who have complex trauma, helping them work through their pain and reclaim their identity in Christ. Over the last 15 years, Wendy has developed a deep passion for helping women who are hurting in their relationships. She brings both personal and professional experience to this work. After nearly three decades of toxic and emotionally abusive relationships, she hit rock bottom, committed to four years of weekly therapy, and finally recognized the subconscious belief that kept drawing her back to the chaos. She is also the host of the podcast Navigating Toxic Relationships. Inside today's episode, Wendy and I dive into: How subconscious beliefs (what therapists call core beliefs) quietly shape who we're drawn to, and why trying to be seen by someone who doesn't see us is a recipe for heartbreak The type of partner many high-achieving women are attracted to, and why it can be so hard to get your needs met Clear signs of a toxic relationship versus a healthy one, including control, criticism, a stifled sense of independence, and walking on eggshells, even when there are no big blow-up fights How to set boundaries in relationships and in marriage, with real boundaries examples you can use word for word, plus why a boundary is a movable lane marker, not a cement wall Why following through on your boundaries matters just as much as stating them Practical nervous system regulation tools for busy moms: mindfulness breathing exercises, movement, sunshine, and time in nature Why emotions are information, and how noticing them early (mindfulness in action) helps you catch anxiety before it spirals Reparenting yourself and turning toward your own feelings the way you would comfort your child Why learning to truly love and respect yourself is the foundation for confidence that can't be shaken If you're a people pleaser, a perfectionist, or a mom running on empty who has quietly normalized a relationship that drains you, this conversation will help you name what's really going on, give you language for setting healthy boundaries, and hand you simple emotional regulation tools you can use the next time you feel that tension rising. Most of all, I hope it reminds you that you're allowed to take up space and that your needs matter too. 23 | Faith Over Anxiety For Moms, My Interview with Rachel Cross
2026/10/13
FREE Reframe Your Mindset Masterclass - Tuesday, October 20th @ 10am - https://josieanderson.co/mindset/ Do you walk past the laundry pile and suddenly feel like you could snap at everyone in the house? Are you saying yes to your boss, your kids, and your husband, and somehow never saying yes to yourself? Highlights of This Episode I'm sharing something a little different today. I was invited onto Rachel Cross's podcast, Faith Over Anxiety for Moms, and she asked me to go back to the very beginning: three kids under 14, a full-time job, and a life where I said yes to everyone and everything until my body finally said no. Rachel is a fellow mom and podcast host who, like me, grew up shy and felt a nudge from God that there was something more for her. Our conversation felt like two friends being honest about what burnout really looks like behind closed doors. Inside this episode, I open up about the signs I ignored for way too long: the racing heart, the panic attacks, getting triggered easily by a pile of laundry, and snapping at my kids in a way that just wasn't me. I walk you through the simple journaling practice that changed everything for me. You'll learn how to pause, name the emotion, write down the situation, and catch the subconscious thought patterns running on repeat underneath it all. This is where real emotional regulation and nervous system regulation begin. Not with a massive mindset overhaul, but with one tiny, honest shift in the story you're telling yourself. We also go deep on healthy boundaries, and not just the kind you set with other people. I share how boundaries within ourselves protect our peace, why the story of Martha and Mary speaks so directly to every mom who feels she has to do it all, and why stillness is our birthright. Then I walk you through the six things that helped me overcome anxiety and burnout: asking for help, letting go of perfectionism and people-pleasing, lowering your expectations, practicing mindfulness, and setting boundaries even when saying no feels uncomfortable. If you're an ambitious mom carrying the mental load, running on empty, and craving more peace and presence with your kids, this conversation will help you feel less alone and give you one small step you can take today to become the calm, present mom you want to be. 22 | Ready for Less Overwhelm? How a Mom Bot Gets You There, Fast with Carly Church
2026/10/06
FREE Reframe Your Mindset Masterclass - Tuesday, October 20th @ 10am - https://josieanderson.co/mindset/ Are you the one in your house holding every schedule, every permission slip, and every "don't forget" in your head? Do you feel like you're running on autopilot, doing it all, but never fully present with the people you're doing it for? Highlights of This Episode This conversation took me right back to being a new mom 18 years ago, up at 1 a.m. with a colicky baby, googling articles and wondering who on earth I could ask. So many of us are still carrying that same invisible mental load, just with more kids, more calendars, more group chats, and a nervous system that never gets to power down. That's exactly why I wanted you to meet today's guest. Carly Church is the founder of We Got You Mama, an author, speaker, actor, producer, and the creator of MomBot. Carly has spent the last decade building communities for mothers, and her work comes straight from her own life: postpartum, an ADHD diagnosis in her late 30s, and hitting perimenopause early, then sitting in doctor's office after doctor's office hearing "you're just stressed." As a mom of three busy kids, she knows what it feels like to be stretched thin, and she decided to build the support system she wished someone had handed her. Inside today's episode, Carly and I talk about how she trained her own AI to become a "second brain," one that understands her values, her priorities, and her boundaries, and even tells her, "No, Carly, you don't have time for that." We dig into why no is a complete sentence, how knowing your values can pull you out of burnout and back to your true self, and how one mom saved hours every week simply by letting go of control over the logistics. Carly also shares how she's using technology to become more human, not less, so moms can spend less time managing the family calendar and more time being a present mom. If you're an ambitious mom drowning in decision fatigue, mom guilt, or overwhelm, this episode will remind you that you don't have to do it alone. You'll walk away with a new way of thinking about support, a little more permission to slow down, and practical ideas for protecting your peace of mind, your emotional regulation, and your energy, whether you have a newborn, a teen behind the wheel, or an emptying nest. Message from Carly: My Mom Bot is a personalized AI support system designed to help moms, parents, caregivers, entrepreneurs, and other high-capacity people carry less of the invisible mental load. What makes it different is that it gets to know the person, including their values, priorities, boundaries, family logistics, decision-making style, and what they want protected when life gets chaotic. 21 | Struggling With Mental Overload & Perfectionism? The 3-Step Reframe to Clear Your Mind as an Ambitious Mom
2026/09/29
FREE Reframe Your Mindset Masterclass - Tuesday, October 20th @ 10am PST - https://josieanderson.co/mindset/ Do you wait until everything feels "ready" before you start, and then wonder why you're stuck? Do missed naps, chaotic mornings, or missed deadlines at work make you feel like you're not enough? Highlights of This Episode Mental health isn't a buzzword. It's something so many of us are quietly carrying, and I have a special place in my heart for moms who feel the shame and guilt that come with mental load. Years ago I hit burnout and anxiety so hard that I was snapping at my kids and dreading work every single day. What I didn't expect was that burnout would become my superpower, because it taught me to spot the patterns underneath: perfectionism, tying my worth to my productivity, control as a coping strategy, and people pleasing. This past month, perfectionism showed up for me again. I pushed back a project that really matters to me because I didn't feel ready. Then I got sick and took a life break. Rest was exactly what my body needed, but too much slowing down gave me all the time in the world to overthink. And mama, sitting in your thoughts too long is never good. In this episode, I'm sharing how perfectionism shows up in your everyday life (the perfect morning routine, the nap that won't happen, going above and beyond at work so you don't let anyone down), and how it quietly turns into procrastination and then self-doubt. Then I walk you through the three-step mindfulness reframe I use to get out of it: Become aware. Notice where the feeling shows up in your body, name the emotion, and catch the automatic thought and subconscious belief underneath it. This is where emotional regulation and nervous system awareness start. Reframe it. Trade the old thought that keeps you small for one that expands you, like "I am valued just as I am." Take messy action, and don't do it alone. Ask for support, delegate at work and at home, and remember: you either win or you learn. If you're the ambitious mom, the high achiever doing it all, and it still never feels quite good enough, this episode will help you drop the pressure to be perfect, set boundaries with that inner critic, and show up as a more present mom for yourself and your family. Note: If you're in a dark place right now, you don't have to carry it alone. In the US, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. 20 | Why Your Mind Keeps 50 Tabs Open & The #1 Way to Close Them With Judy Tsuei
2026/09/22
FREE Reframe Your Mindset Masterclass - Tuesday, October 20th @ 10am - https://josieanderson.co/mindset/   Have you stayed somewhere (a job, a relationship, a city) because everyone told you that was what a good mom does? Do you notice yourself opening another mental tab before you've ever closed the last one, until your whole nervous system feels like it's running fifty browser windows at once? Highlights of This Episode I have been so excited to bring you this conversation, because Judy Tsuei is one of those women who fully embodies the work she teaches. Judy is an award-winning identity and performance coach and the author of the upcoming book Black Sheep Rising: A Shameless Guide to Disappointing Your Parents, launching November 24th. She spent years running a branding and marketing agency before turning that same skill set inward, helping high-achieving women and moms rewire the unconscious patterns running the show underneath their burnout. In this episode, Judy opens up about walking away from an unhealthy marriage when her daughter was two, and how the cultural pressure to "stay together for the kids" almost kept her stuck in a home where the energy was teaching her daughter that this was normal. We talk about what it actually looks like to protect your kid's nervous system by regulating your own, and why redefining what a "successful relationship" means was one of the most mindful decisions she ever made. From there, we go deep into generational trauma, how patterns get downloaded into our subconscious mind before we're even old enough to consent to them, and how Judy's NLP work helped her heal decades of tension with her parents in a single fifteen-minute session. She shares her "open loops" framework for understanding burnout (imagine fifty browser tabs your brain refuses to close), why nervous system regulation and mindfulness practice matter so much more than "trying harder," and the concept of metacognition as one of the simplest, most powerful tools for becoming a truly present mom. If you're a high-achieving woman who feels like you're carrying everyone's weight, setting boundaries you don't yet trust, or quietly wondering what it would take to feel calm in your own body again, this episode is going to meet you exactly where you are. 19 | Perfectionism Is Secretly Sabotaging Your Progress - Here's the Subconscious Reason Why
2026/09/15
Do you freeze up with "I don't know" every time you are faced with a big decision? Do you secretly believe that if you don't show up perfect, nobody will care? Are you carrying guilt for things that were never yours to carry in the first place? Highlights of This Episode This week I did something I've never done on this podcast: I showed up with no script. No guest interview, no notes written out beforehand, nothing planned. Just me, speaking from within, letting you see what perfectionism has actually been doing to me behind the scenes these past couple of weeks. I talk about where my perfectionism was born; good grades, teacher's pet, employee of the month and how that same pattern still shows up today every time I have to make a decision in my business or my life. I open up about how perfectionism doesn't ask for excellence, it asks for paralysis, and how "I don't know" became my default answer to almost everything. This is a mindfulness and subconscious thought patterns conversation at its core: the beliefs we absorbed as kids about being loved for performing well don't just disappear when we grow up, they quietly run our nervous system and our decision-making unless we bring them into awareness. I also share something much heavier from this weekend: the loss of one of my daughter's schoolmates, and the guilt and shame I watched get placed on that child's parents in the aftermath. It cracked something open in me about the guilt we as moms carry for things that were genuinely never within our control. If you've ever beaten yourself up over something you couldn't have possibly prevented, this part is for you. This episode is for the ambitious mom who is so used to holding it together perfectly that she's forgotten what it feels like to just be present with herself. My hope is that by the end, you feel a little more permission to set the boundary with your own perfectionism, regulate the anxiety that comes with "getting it right," and come back home to yourself; imperfect, real, and still worthy of showing up. 18 | Stop Self-Abandoning, Already! The Support It Took to Move to Egypt (Without Her Kids) with Michelle Escalera
2026/09/08
What am I sacrificing in the name of being the good mom, the good partner, the one who holds it all together? What would it feel like to trust the unknown instead of needing the whole roadmap first? Highlights of Episode In this episode, I sit down with Michelle Escalera, a musician, ceremony guide, and facilitator who creates spaces for people to reconnect with themselves. Through retreats, trainings, private sessions, and music, Michelle helps people move through self-doubt, reconnect with their truth, and find the clarity to create a life that feels aligned. Her work blends practical tools with deep presence, inviting the people she works with to live with greater authenticity and intention. Michelle and I have known each other for over three years, since we met in our Soul Purpose coaching program, and I have watched her story unfold in the most beautiful way. Michelle opens up about reaching a breaking point as a mom, burnt out without even realizing she was burnt out, sacrificing herself in ways that looked honorable on the surface but were quietly costing her nervous system, her health, and her relationships. She shares the raw, real story of choosing to move to Egypt to reclaim herself: the mom guilt, the hard conversations with her son and stepdaughter, the fear of disappointing the people she loves, and the healing that happened on the other side of asking for help and setting boundaries around her own capacity. This episode is for the ambitious mom who feels like she's carrying it all and doesn't know how to put anything down. If you've ever felt like taking care of yourself means abandoning everyone else, or you've confused self-sacrifice with love, Michelle's story will show you what's possible when you choose emotional regulation and presence over constant output. You'll walk away with real language for setting boundaries, asking for support, and trusting yourself even when you don't have the full plan, just the mindfulness and nervous system awareness to take the next right step. 17 | Why Chaos Is Actually Perception - The #1 Way I Created More Peace With Mindfulness
2026/09/01
Have you ever wondered if you could actually change how a moment feels — without changing a single thing about the situation itself? Do you catch yourself pushing through, ignoring what your body is telling you, just to keep striving? Highlights of This Episode: In this episode, I'm giving you a real example of something we talk about a lot on this show: mindfulness, nervous system regulation, and how much power you actually have over your own emotional regulation — even when the situation around you doesn't change. I walk you through the finger exercise — a simple, in-the-moment demonstration of how our perception shapes what we believe is "true." One finger. Two fingers. And then the truth. It's the same idea behind Story A, Story B, and the truth of what's actually happening in your life. From there, we get into how our bodies respond to the energy around us — expanding around people and moments that feel good, contracting around the ones that don't — and why so many of us were taught to ignore that signal instead of using it. I bring it home with a real mom-life example: the morning struggle of waking up my daughter, and how shifting my own energy before I even say a word changes the entire tone of our morning. This episode is about boundaries with your own nervous system — the boundary of choosing your response instead of reacting on autopilot. It's for the mom who wants to stop pushing through her mornings on autopilot and start noticing she has a choice, in the moment, every time. Journal Prompts: Where in your day do you feel your body contract before your mind even catches up? What would it look like to bring a different energy into that exact moment? 16 | What Adopting 3 Kids at 48 Taught Her About Perfectionism & Boundaries with Billie-Jo Cochran
2026/08/25
Are you saying yes to everything because you feel guilty saying no — even when it's draining you? Do you have a "trigger point" (dishes in the sink, an overflowing laundry basket) that sends your whole day sideways? Is your nervous system stuck in survival mode because your schedule is packed minute by minute? Episode Highlights Today, I sit down with Billie-Jo Cochran — host of the Working Homeschool Mom podcast, mom coach, and founder of The Simplified Mom. Billie Jo shares the incredible story of adopting three kids at age 48, and how she quickly learned that chasing perfectionism for her kids was actually burning her out. She opens up about the mom guilt that came with setting boundaries — saying no to extra activities, no longer packing lunches, protecting her mornings — and how she had to work through that guilt to give her kids what they truly needed: a mom who was calm, grounded, and present, not exhausted and stretched thin. We talk through what it really looks like to build routines that support your nervous system instead of overwhelming it — routines flexible enough to bend with real life, not rigid to-do lists that set you up to fail. Billie-Jo shares her "triggers" concept (for her, it's dishes left in the sink) and her go-to metaphor for emotional regulation: picture a water bottle being squeezed over and over until it crumples empty — that's what happens to us moms when we never refill our own cup. If you're an ambitious mom feeling burned out, anxious, or like you're failing everyone by trying to do it all, this episode is your permission slip to simplify, set the boundary, and become the present mom your family actually needs — not the perfect one you think they want. This episode is for the working, homeschooling, or simply stretched-too-thin mom who is ready to trade burnout and control for peace, presence, and a little bit of grace. 15 | Sick of Hustling to Get Ahead? How Ignoring the Warning Signs Led to Burnout with Tina Kapp-Kailea
2026/08/18
Why do high-achieving women refuse to slow down and take care of themselves — even when their body is begging them to? What happens when you suppress grief instead of process it, and how does that suppressed emotion quietly invade your mental and physical health? In this episode, I sit down with Tina Kapp-Kailea — TEDx speaker, multiple best-selling author, award-winning embodiment coach, and founder of Book Mystic — for a conversation that goes straight to the heart of what so many ambitious moms are carrying: burnout, suppressed emotional regulation, and a nervous system that has forgotten what safety feels like. Tina shares her own journey through the corporate world, where she had the title, the corner office, and the international travel, but on the inside she was running on empty. Without boundaries in place, she found herself on what she calls the "burnout spiral," eventually facing anxiety, and suppressed grief after experiencing multiple miscarriages. What I love about this conversation is how honest Tina is about the connection between stress and the body — she opens up about how a dysregulated nervous system and years of not feeling "good enough" showed up physically, not just emotionally. We talk about the "corporate corset" so many of us wear — contorting ourselves into a version we think is acceptable — and why practicing mindfulness, learning to say no, and getting curious about what your body is trying to tell you are the real first steps toward healing. Tina also opens up about her work as a "book doula," helping women excavate their deepest stories and turn them into books that create real connection, and why writing (even just for yourself) can be one of the most powerful tools for emotional regulation and reclaiming your voice. This episode is for the present mom and high-achieving woman who feels like she's doing it all, but still feels empty inside. If you've ever felt like you're not enough, like rest has to be earned, or like your story is something to hide rather than share — this conversation is your permission slip to come home to yourself. 14 | Ready for Peace? How Nervous System & Identity Rewiring Gets You There, Fast with Penny Chiasson
2026/08/11
Have you ever wondered why you get triggered "out of the blue," even when everything in your life looks like it's going right? Do you find yourself over-functioning — going, going, going — instead of pausing to feel what's actually going on underneath? Have you ever confused "staying grateful" with actually avoiding your pain? Highlights of the Episode: In this episode, I sit down with Penny Chiasson — a former nurse anesthetist turned board-certified hypnotist, #1 international bestselling author of Breaking the Fibro Code, and creator of the Identity Matrix Method — to talk about what happens when high-achieving women push their pain down for "just one more day." Penny opens up about the season of her life when she was caring for both of her parents, all while working a demanding job, and how "gratitude bypassing" nearly cost her everything before hypnosis helped her regulate her nervous system and reclaim her peace. This conversation is for the ambitious mama who feels like she's holding it together on the outside while something quietly builds underneath. We dig into how the subconscious mind forms our patterns before age seven, why emotional regulation starts with recognizing what your body is actually telling you, and how mindfulness — of the thoughts you consume, the stories you repeat, and the identity you're building — changes everything. Penny also walks us through what boundaries really are (hint: it's not an ultimatum, it's a decision about what you're available for) and how self-compassion is often the missing piece before a boundary can ever hold. If you've ever felt like you're "too much" for setting a boundary, or like your ambition is a mask for something you haven't addressed yet, this episode is your permission slip to get curious about what's really going on beneath the surface — so you can become a more present mom, a more grounded leader, and a woman who trusts herself again. 13 | The Real Reason Ambitious Moms Can't Let Go of Control (And How To Break Free From It)
2026/08/04
If you've ever ended the day exhausted despite checking off every single box, this episode is for you. I'm unpacking why so many of us ambitious moms carry the weight of everyone else's world — and why true freedom starts with mindfulness, nervous system regulation, healthy boundaries, and emotional regulation as a present mom. Who am I when life doesn't go according to my plan? Have I connected my worth to how much I accomplish or how much I carry for everyone else? I get real in this episode about something I think every ambitious mom quietly craves, whether she realizes it or not: freedom. Not a productivity hack. Not a time-management trick. Real freedom — from carrying everyone else's load, from believing you have to hold it all together, from measuring your worth by how much you get done in a day. I share personal stories, including the moment I watched my three-year-old nephew make his own PB&J and realized how much I wanted my own kids to trust themselves the same way — even if that meant a forgotten suitcase or two. I dig into why we take on so much mental load in the first place, and how my own burnout forced me to stop managing life from the outside and start paying attention to what was happening on the inside — my thoughts, my emotions, and my nervous system. This episode is for the mom who feels like she's the one holding the entire household together and is starting to wonder what it would take to set some of that down. Inside, I talk about the connection between control and identity, why boundaries aren't really about time management, and how practicing mindfulness and tuning into your body's signals can help you become a calmer, more grounded, more present mom — without needing everything to go according to plan. My hope is that by the end, you walk away with a felt sense of permission to loosen your grip and receive more peace, more support, and more of what you've been striving so hard to create. 12 | Anxiety Isn't the Problem, Your Nervous System Is - Mom Boss Freedom with Paige Figueroa
2026/07/28
How do burnout and anxiety show up for high-achieving women, and how do you know when it's time to face them? What's the hidden block that keeps so many ambitious moms from ever starting — or from taking their business to the next level? Highlights of This Episode I am so excited for you to meet Paige Figueroa, owner of Mom Boss Freedom — a coach, podcaster, and serial entrepreneur whose story mirrors so much of my own journey. Paige spent eight years as a teacher before becoming a mom to twins, one of whom faced a life-threatening condition before birth. That season — pregnant, working full-time, driving to doctor's appointments multiple times a week, and eventually spending three months in the NICU — became what Paige calls her "dark night of the soul." It's also where her real work began. In this conversation, Paige and I dig into how she found small pockets of time (sometimes just 30 minutes a day) to build a freelance copywriting business while raising six-month-old twins, and how that eventually gave her the confidence to leave teaching for good. But we don't stop at the highlight reel. We go deep into the burnout and anxiety underneath it — the toxic productivity so many of us as ambitious women were taught was normal — and how mindfulness, nervous system support, and real boundaries were what actually changed things for her. Paige now helps ambitious women, especially present moms, build aligned businesses and expansive lives through identity-based transformation and nervous system-aware coaching. If you've ever felt qualified but unworthy, ambitious but exhausted, or like you're managing everything on the outside while falling apart on the inside — this episode is for you. We talk candidly about mom guilt, the fear of being judged for stepping into a new identity, and the practical tools — from thought work to EFT tapping to honoring your capacity — that help you build a business (and a life) that actually feels safe in your body. This episode is for the mom who is quietly holding it together while wondering if she's allowed to want more — and who is ready to learn what real emotional regulation and boundary-setting can do for her business, her family, and her peace of mind. What is one boundary I could set this week to honor my capacity, so my nervous system can finally feel safe enough to slow down? 11 | Perfect Life but Feel Broken? 5 Steps to Transformation with Dr. Karen Kramer
2026/07/21
Who am I as a mom, a leader, a wife?  If you're the ambitious mom who's checked every box — the career, the household, the "having it all" — and you still feel like you've lost yourself somewhere along the way, this episode is your permission slip to slow down and ask why. I'm sitting down with Dr. Karen Kramer, known globally as Dr. Karen, a grief alchemist, hypnotherapist, speaker, and bestselling author of Healthy Grief. With a PhD in Human and Organizational Development, decades of international coaching experience, and a toolbox that blends neuroscience with ancient healing modalities, Dr. Karen has worked with everyone from CIA and Google leaders to therapists, doctors, and everyday moms navigating burnout and transformation. She's the founder of Villa Vision Wellness and Retreat Center in Southern California, and she brings a rare combination of hard science and soulful presence to every conversation. In this episode, we get honest about what grief actually looks like when it's not about death — it's the quiet mourning of who you used to be, the version of you that existed before kids, before the corporate ladder, before you started saying yes to everyone but yourself. Dr. Karen unpacks how unprocessed grief and old subconscious beliefs can settle into the body, why so many high-achieving women are running on a "moving away from" instead of a "moving toward," and how tools like hypnotherapy, mindfulness, and subconscious reprogramming can help you release what's no longer serving you. We also dig into nervous system regulation in everyday language — the different states of "hypnosis" we move through all day (think: driving trance, movie hypnosis, that half-asleep scroll) — and why learning to notice those states is actually a doorway into calming an overwhelmed body. Dr. Karen shares her 5-stage Healthy Grief framework (Head, Heart, Steps, Hands, Eyes) for emotional regulation in the middle of overwhelm, and we talk candidly about boundaries — with our time, our energy, and the beliefs we didn't even realize we were carrying (raise your hand if laundry has ever triggered you). If you've ever wanted to feel more grounded, more you, and more like a present mom instead of a frazzled one, this conversation will give you language, tools, and permission to come back to yourself. Once your list is done, choose just one, and give yourself even five minutes to do it this week. Notice what it feels like to reconnect with you. Run the "for what purpose" exercise: the next time you notice a strong reaction, a triggered feeling, or an old thought pattern show up (yes, even over laundry), gently ask yourself "for what purpose did I think/feel/react that way?" seven times in a row. Peel back one layer with each answer and see what belief is waiting underneath. Bonus reflection tool — the 5-Part Healthy Grief Framework (use it any time you feel overwhelmed, lost, or alone): Head: What am I thinking right now? Heart: What am I feeling right now? Steps: What's one small action step I can take? Hands: What support — formal or informal — do I need today? Eyes: What does the future look like, even if it's only 10 minutes from now? 10 | Stop Saying Yes to All The Things! Setting Boundaries In Corporate with Raquel Ita
2026/07/14
Are you saying yes to everything at work while quietly saying no to your friends, your husband, and your own peace? If your performance review told you that you're "stretched thin", would you see it as failure — or as the wake-up call it's meant to be? What would it look like to lead from mindfulness and boundaries instead of proving your worth through doing more? Highlights of This Episode I am so excited to bring you this conversation with Raquel Ita, because her story mirrors mine in so many ways. Raquel spent over 15 years climbing the corporate ladder in operations leadership and somewhere in the middle of all the achieving, she lost herself. Today she's the host of Setting Boundaries in Corporate, and she helps faith-centered professional women reconnect with who they are. In this episode, we go deep on what it actually looks like when the corporate ladder starts to cost you more than it gives you. Raquel opens up about a season where she was serving on six committees on top of a full-time job and leading a team of seven — and how that slowly eroded her joy, one yes at a time. We talk about the performance review that changed everything for both of us, what it felt like to sit with the discomfort of "meeting expectations" instead of exceeding them, and how that discomfort became the doorway to real mindfulness and clarity. If you're the ambitious mom who's the go-to person at work, who says yes because you genuinely want to help but ends the day mentally exhausted and disconnected from your people — this episode is for you. Raquel walks us through how she found the courage to set boundaries with her boss, what emotional regulation actually looked like in that process, and why the discomfort of disappointing someone is so much smaller than the cost of disappearing from your own life. Ask yourself: does this still make sense for who I am right now — or for the person I'm becoming? Where in your life have you been saying yes to everything work asks of you, while quietly saying no to the people and things that actually fill you up? What would it look like to flip that this week?
