Often we, like Paul, are pressed on two sides: life and death. But like Paul we, too, do not know which to choose. However, we need to be continually reminded that as long as we are living here under the providence of God it is "more needful" for someone that we are here. Yes, to depart and be with Christ is far, far better, but until our departure it is "more needful" for us to be here.

One cannot rightly say to die is gain unless he can first say to live is Christ. People in general live for things: money, power, pleasure, sensual indulgence, having one's own way, flattery. Paul lived for Christ. We, too, must seek Him above all things if we are to truly understand the Christian life.

The effectualness of prayer is a mystery. I believe many of us do not comprehend the benefits, edification, and effectualness that prayer has in the overall providential workings of God.

Paul was thankful when the gospel was preached whatever the intent but he was not endorsing a false gospel. He pronounced a curse on a false gospel and those who preached it. May we never become envious of anyone who speaks the truth of the gospel.

Paul went through many trials and afflictions to end up in bonds in Rome, but he viewed them as providential dealing for the furtherance of the gospel. He also considered his bonds as "in Christ" and not in the bonds of Rome. May we view each providential occurence in our lives as an opportunity to spread the gospel.

In the podcast today we will introduce some of the issues and show that too often people that profess to be Baptistic in belief adopt ideas and concepts that identify more with that of the Protestants or other hermeneutics.

Abounding love does not come automatically. Paul prayed that the Philippians' love would abound, but it was though knowledge and discretion. With such love the saints will be filled with the fruits of righteousness.

True worship consists of ordain children of God in which the work of grace abides in their hearts.

Sadly, when the discussion regarding the covenants, the conversation generally revolves around the "covenant of works" and the "covenant of grace," while ignoring "the everlasting covenant" made with the Triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) in eternity. Today we will devote our attention to this "everlasting covenant."

The night before the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Christ, He patiently and lovingly practiced and taught His disciples the truth of Christian love.

Love between the preacher and the people is essential to the advancement and fellowship of the gospel. Equally, we are to set forth the gospel in an intellegent and clear way to properly defend the faith. All of this is to be solidified and cultivated by prayer.

We are continuing our study of more differences the Protestants and Baptists beliefs. Today we are reviewing the distinction between the Old and New Covenant.

The Philippians were faithful to the gospel of which there is only one. Sadly, today the religious world has several so-called gospels which in reality are not gospels. Furthermore, when God begins a work of grace in an individual He will perform it until the day of Christ. Thankfully our salvation is secure in the Person and work of Christ.
