The Unfair Kingdom
2026/09/27
We often expect God to run on human fairness, where people only get what they work for and earn. However, Jesus shows that God operates on total generosity instead of earned rewards, inviting us to stop keeping score and simply give thanks for His grace.

Blessed are the Risktakers
2026/09/20
Many wrongly view God as a referee who only demands religious routine and passive avoidance of sin. However, Jesus’ parable of the Ten Minas shows that God values faithful action over safe fear. He condemns the cautious servant who hid his resources and rewards those who actively risk partnering with Him, using this life as training to be trusted with greater authority.

True Forgiveness
2026/09/13
God’s grace is scandalous not just because it frees us, but because it calls us to set others free. While our world views unforgiveness as necessary protection and justice, Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant shows a deeper truth. A king compassionately cancels a servant’s impossible multi-billion-dollar debt, only for that same servant to throw a fellow worker into prison over a real, yet far smaller, debt of several thousand dollars. Furious at this refusal to show mercy, the king reinstates the servant’s original debt—revealing that holding onto others' debts destroys the very freedom we’ve been given.

Scandalous Grace
2026/09/06
In the story of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee, Jesus shows that our worth doesn't come from success or playing the role of a good person. Even though the Pharisee did everything right on the outside, his pride kept him from God. Meanwhile, the tax collector was a complete mess, but he humbly admitted his mistakes and asked for mercy. In the end, Jesus shows that God cares about a humble heart asking for forgiveness, not a perfect record.
How do I replace my false ideas about God with Jesus' truth?

Why Parables?
2026/08/30
The stories we watch and read every day shape how we see the world, whether we realize it or not. Jesus used simple parables to break through these daily distractions and show us what God is really like, but we can only understand them if our hearts are open. Taking time to listen to His stories helps replace wrong ideas about God with the truth, changing how we live from the inside out.

Habits of the Household
2026/08/23
The daily habits and routines of family life form children far more than big, special events ever will. As highlighted in Deuteronomy, teaching faith is not about scheduling formal Bible studies, but about using everyday moments—like car rides, mealtimes, and bedtimes—to show kids who God is and how to live. By making small, intentional shifts in these regular routines and showing grace when things go wrong, parents can actively shape their family's character and faith one ordinary day at a time.

Small Groups
2026/08/16
Each of us faces big problems in our personal lives. Finances, relationships, family struggles, personal vices that are wrecking our lives. And often what we want is a quick fix, one-size fits all solution. Give me a book to read or a plan to follow, give me some habits that will fix my problems. But life is more complicated than that. What we need are people - filled with the Spirit of God - who can walk beside us in life, support us, and encourage us. People who can know our family, our daily life, our struggles, and speak the truth of God to us, while embodying the love of Christ in our lives. And we don’t only need this for ourselves, we need to be this for one another. We all want to be Luke Skywalker. No one wants to be Yoda. But change happens slowly over time, and it happens one life at a time.

Partnerships in the Community
2026/08/09
The problem of poverty and injustice and need in our world has grown in our world and in our own country. And we can’t do everything to solve the problem, but - as we say all the time - we can do something. But it won’t be through big programs or initiatives. It will be one life at a time. This is what we’re trying to do with our partnerships in the community. We don’t think we can solve all the problems in our own county, but we can partner one believer up with one person in need. We can grow our love and compassion for the needs of others. We can be led by the Spirit to help and encourage one other person. One life at a time.
