The Particularity of Sin - Job 22
2026/10/19
This sermon examines the doctrine of particular sins through the lens of Eliphaz's third speech to Job, contrasting the necessity of specific repentance with the danger of presumptuous judgment. The central argument asserts that while believers must honestly acknowledge and confess specific transgressions rather than relying on vague generalities, they must never invent accusations or interpret another person's suffering as definitive proof of guilt. The text highlights Eliphaz's error in assuming Job's specific sins without evidence, warning against the hypocrisy of judging others while ignoring one's own faults. Drawing from Matthew 7 and 18, the message emphasizes that addressing sin within the church must be done privately, gently, and with a spirit of meekness aimed at restoration rather than condemnation. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a balanced approach that combines rigorous self-examination and genuine repentance with humility, recognizing that God's omniscience does not transfer to human judgment and that forgiveness rests solely on the finished work of Christ.
Temptation Mortification of Sin - John Owen's Works Volume 6 Walkthrough
2026/10/19
Welcome to today's episode, where we step deep into the pastoral architecture of Volume 6 of John Owen's Collected Works, widely known as Temptation and Sin. Edited with meticulous historical and textual care by Scottish scholar William H. Goold, this seminal volume guides the believer through a complete map of spiritual warfare—from the relentless internal fight in The Mortification of Sin and the subtle entanglements of Of Temptation, to the psychological depths of Indwelling Sin and the glorious, covenantal assurance of An Exposition upon Psalm 130. Whether you are navigating the subtle deceitfulness of the human heart, guarding against spiritual presumption in leadership, or seeking a path out of the depths of guilt into gospel forgiveness, Owen's penetrating insights offer an enduring, Christ-centered anchor for the soul.

Are the Gifts of Healings and Miracles for Today?
2026/10/18
Are the miraculous gifts of healing and miracles still active in the church today? How can Christians distinguish genuine works of God from the claims of modern faith healers? In this sermon from 1 Corinthians 12:9–10, 28–30, Pastor Robb Brunansky examines the biblical evidence for miraculous healings and spiritual gifts by exploring the ministry of Jesus Christ, the works of the apostles in Acts, and the teaching of the New Testament letters. Through a careful study of Scripture, Pastor Robb identifies six defining characteristics of biblical miracles and healings: they were immediate, occurred both publicly and privately, involved individuals and groups, fulfilled Scripture, were unique in their power, and were certain in their results. This message challenges contemporary claims of miraculous healing, explains the unique role of signs and wonders in authenticating Jesus Christ and His apostles, and demonstrates why the miraculous gifts served a particular purpose in the establishment of the early church. Ultimately, the greatest miracle is not physical healing but the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. The miracles of Scripture point us to the Savior who alone has the authority to forgive sins and reconcile sinners to God.
Blessing Noah IV

This sermon examines the prohibition against consuming animal blood in Genesis 9:4, arguing that this command reflects the sacredness of life and humanity's subjection to God's sovereignty. The text traces this theme through the Mosaic Law and into the New Testament, emphasizing that blood serves as the means of atonement and not material for human consumption. The central theological point is that while animal blood pointed to the need for a substitute, it ultimately foreshadows the superior sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The preacher highlights that Christ's blood, speaks of mercy and forgiveness rather than vengeance, offering the only true redemption for sinners. The message concludes with a call to recognize the supreme value of Christ's atoning work as the foundation of salvation.
Finding Our True Identity
2026/10/18
Who are you in Christ, and where does your true identity come from? This week, Pastor Steve continues our The Gospel Shaped Church series with a message from Galatians 2 titled, "Finding Our True Identity." Paul reminds us that we can never earn righteousness through our own efforts or religious accomplishments. We are made right with God through faith in Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice accomplished what we could never do for ourselves. And as we place our faith in Him, our old lives are crucified with Christ so that we can live by faith in the One who loves us and gave Himself for us. Join us as we discover what it means to find our identity in Christ, rest in the grace of God, and allow Him to transform us from the inside out.
Does God Get Angry with His Children (True Believers)?
2026/10/18
Has modern Christianity created a version of God who never gets angry with His own children? In an age when biblical masculinity, fatherly authority, and accountability are increasingly under attack, even our understanding of God's character has been distorted. Modern psychology and feminism have helped undermine the biblical role of fathers, while popular religious teaching often portrays God as a Father who is never angry with His children, regardless of their disobedience. But what does the Bible actually teach? Scripture commands, "Be ye angry, and sin not" (Ephesians 4:26). There is sinful anger, but there is also righteous anger. This message examines how much of today's parenting substitutes repeated threats, frustration, yelling, and uncontrolled anger for consistent biblical discipline. God's pattern of the rod and reproof, administered calmly and lovingly, teaches children to obey without endless arguments and threats, bringing peace and rest to the home. Yet there are also times when anger itself is justified, provided it remains governed by righteousness. And what about our heavenly Father? The Scriptures repeatedly reveal that God became angry with His own people. Paul specifically tells New Testament believers that these Old Testament accounts were written as warnings for US! From Israel's rebellion in the wilderness to the solemn warnings of Hebrews, Corinthians, and the teachings of Jesus Christ, the Bible presents a sobering truth: God's love does not mean He is indifferent to the sins of His children. But the message does not end with God's anger. There is a wonderful difference between God's temporary displeasure and His everlasting covenant love!
Chosen In Christ
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the theological purpose of God's eternal election as presented in Ephesians 1:3-6, arguing that believers were chosen for holiness, adoption, and the praise of God's glory. The message clarifies that salvation is not merely about forgiveness but involves a transformative process where grace produces obedience, countering both legalism and antinomianism. It emphasizes the familial reality of adoption, urging believers to approach God with the confidence of children rather than the fear of outsiders, while grounding their identity in Christ's work rather than fluctuating emotions. The sermon concludes by directing the ultimate end of election toward the worship of God, warning against pride or speculation and encouraging a humble, awe-filled response to the sovereign grace that chose the elect before the foundation of the world.

All Things Are Now Ready
2026/10/18
Jesus tells of a great supper whose invited guests put land, work, and home ahead of the host's call. Luke 14:15-24 exposes the danger of answering God's gracious invitation with ordinary excuses, even when those answers sound polite and reasonable. The prepared supper points us toward the generosity of grace, while the widening invitation reminds us that need and shame do not place a sinner beyond the Saviour's welcome. The message calls us to trust Christ now and carry the gospel earnestly to others. Scripture References: Luke 14:15-24 Ephesians 2:8-9

Fathers Who Feel Like Failures: Counsel From Spurgeon, J. C. Ryle and Others
2026/10/18
Welcome to today's episode, dedicated to every father who carries the heavy burden of looking back on his parenting with regret or feeling crushed by his own daily shortcomings. Throughout our discussion, we turned to the rich pastoral wisdom of 19th-century pastors like C. H. Spurgeon, J. C. Ryle, R. L. Dabney, and J. G. Pike, who remind us that God's covenant of grace was never made with flawless, angel-like parents, but with weak, redeemed sinners who lean entirely on Christ. We explored how no father is a total failure when he turns his regret into earnest prayer, knowing that God is not limited by our flawed efforts or broken threads, nor is His clock bound by our timeline. Whether through establishing a simple, 10-minute family altar, modeling genuine repentance by asking your children for forgiveness, or persistently pleading God's covenant promises for a wayward child, true fatherhood is not about perfection—it is about daily resting in God's endless mercy and trusting that His grace is always greater than our stumblings.
