Matthew 5.1-12 - Sermon on the Mount
2026/10/20
This sermon provides a verse-by-verse exposition of the Beatitudes in Matthew 5, emphasizing that true blessedness is rooted in spiritual humility rather than material wealth or self-esteem. The speaker argues that acknowledging one's total depravity and sinfulness is the necessary prerequisite for salvation, citing David's confession in Psalm 51 as a model of honest self-assessment. Each beatitude is presented as a divine fact describing the character of God's saints, who mourn over sin, submit to God's chastening, hunger for righteousness, and extend mercy despite their own unworthiness. The tone is pastoral and convicting, urging listeners to rely entirely on God's grace and the finished work of Christ, while warning against the false security of self-righteousness or the world's approval. The message concludes by affirming that those who remain faithful in the face of persecution possess an eternal inheritance that no earthly loss can diminish.
Conversion to Christ & Call to Missions
2026/10/20
WATCH ON YOUTUBE - https://youtu.be/XQzcNdnQLic?si=tr-9nqetcU8mFQrK The presentation recounts the personal conversion experience of a former military veteran who was 'ambushed by the gospel' during an evangelistic crusade in a cinema in 1977. It details the speaker's upbringing in secular Rhodesia, highlighting numerous instances of divine preservation that led to a profound conviction of sin and a public commitment to Christ. The narrative transitions to the establishment of Frontline Fellowship, a mission dedicated to supporting persecuted Christians in war zones and restricted access areas, drawing on the speaker's background in the South African army and Cold War conflicts. Key theological themes include the reality of the Resurrection, the sufficiency of Christ's grace, and the urgency of sharing the Word in hostile environments. The tone is testimonial and instructional, emphasizing the transformative power of the gospel and the call to serve in the 'frontline' of spiritual warfare.
Acts 14.1-28 - Two Missionaries Preaching
2026/10/19
This sermon examines the missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas as recorded in Acts 14, highlighting the consistent opposition they faced from both Jewish and Gentile communities. The central message emphasizes that the true relationship with God is founded strictly on His grace rather than human works, and that faithful preaching of the Word inevitably invites resistance. The text explores the theological implications of Paul's resurrection after being stoned, suggesting a profound spiritual encounter, while contrasting the humility of true ministers with the self-aggrandizement of modern religious figures. The preacher argues that entering the kingdom of God requires enduring tribulation, and that the early church's success was built on the sacrificial lives of its leaders who remained steadfast despite persecution. The lesson concludes with a call for spiritual confirmation and the importance of divinely appointed leadership in the church, warning against the dangers of ungodly ministry and the closing door of faith in a hostile world.
Facing Trials
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the biblical perspective on enduring hardship, emphasizing that trials are inevitable and serve a divine purpose in building spiritual character. The central message encourages believers to view diverse temptations with joy, not because suffering is desirable, but because it produces patience and reveals God's presence. The text highlights the necessity of seeking God's wisdom during times of crisis, warning against double-mindedness and urging a committed response to divine direction. It further illustrates God's providence in raising the lowly and humbling the rich, reminding the audience that earthly circumstances are temporary. Ultimately, the sermon points to the eternal reward of the crown of life for those who endure, urging believers to grow through resistance rather than allowing it to breed bitterness.
Not Consumed
2026/10/18
This sermon explores Psalm 129 as a source of comfort for believers facing prolonged affliction and hostility. It highlights the central truth that God is righteous, meaning He is holy and faithful to His promises, which ensures that the wicked will not ultimately prevail against His people. The message contrasts the temporary flourishing of enemies with their inevitable failure to reap a harvest, using the imagery of grass on housetops that withers before it grows. By connecting the historical suffering of Israel to the ongoing struggles of the church, the sermon encourages believers to look back at God's past preservation and forward to His future judgment. This perspective offers profound peace, affirming that while the church may feel diminished, God's power remains unconsumed and His promises stand firm.
Confessing the King
2026/10/18

033 - Raised from the Dead [B]
2026/10/18
What is the evidence for the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, and why is it essential to the gospel? In 1 Thessalonians 1:10, Paul identifies Jesus as the One whom God raised from the dead and for whose return believers eagerly wait. This study examines the biblical and historical evidence for Christ's resurrection, including His physical death, burial, empty tomb, and numerous eyewitness appearances. The resurrection is not a secondary doctrine but a foundational truth of the gospel, validating Christ's payment for sin and guaranteeing the believer's future resurrection. Because Christ conquered death, we can confidently anticipate His return and our eternal life with Him.
Our Confidence in God
2026/10/18
The sermon explores the believer's confidence in God by examining 1 Peter 1:17, which calls Christians to live with reverence during their earthly sojourn. It contrasts the fragility of worldly systems like government and education with the unchanging nature of God, who is both a loving Father and a righteous Judge. The message emphasizes that God is not a respecter of persons, judging everyone impartially according to their works, which provides comfort to those facing unjust persecution. By recalling the example of Isaiah and the assurance of redemption through Christ's blood, the preacher encourages the audience to maintain a focus on God's holiness rather than their immediate trials. This perspective fosters a healthy fear of the Lord that strengthens faith and sustains believers through seasons of testing.
Our confidence are ambition, our accountability
2026/10/18
How should we live in this temporary world, knowing that our eternal home is with Christ? Because Christ has secured our future with him, we can live with courage seek to please him and take seriously the day we will stand before him
Lesson 7 - Serving by Sufficient Grace
2026/10/18
24 1 Peter 3:13-17Conduct in Suffering pt 1
2026/10/18
This sermon explores God's remedy for suffering by examining the command to sanctify Christ as Lord in the heart, shifting focus from external persecution to internal devotion. The teaching emphasizes the believer's responsibility to be perpetually ready to provide a verbal defense of their faith, known as apologia, when questioned about the hope within them. This defense must be delivered with gentleness, reverential fear, and a good conscience, which is rooted in the finished work of Christ. The passage highlights that while suffering for righteousness is a remote possibility, it is ultimately better to suffer for doing right than for doing wrong, as such endurance finds favor with God. The tone is instructional and pastoral, encouraging believers to rely on the Holy Spirit to embody these character traits while maintaining a secure hope in God's promises.
1 Corinthians 15:1-11
2026/10/18
1Co 15:1-11 ESV – Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me. Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.
Our Great Need is Patience
2026/10/18
This morning Pastor John Peront teaches from Hebrews 10:35-36. After briefly reviewing the preceding verses in light of the circumstances and persecutions facing the Jewish believers of the first century which were tempting them to forsake Christ and to return to Judaism, he reminds us from verses 35-36 of our need for patience and endurance in the face of difficulty and temptation that the devil brings in his desire to undermine our faith and testimony. Considering this, Pastor encourages us to hold onto our confidence in Jesus Christ and to store up treasure in Heaven.
