A Kenyan preacher, Paul Mackenzie, and 28 others have been convicted of murdering 190 children and one adult. We investigate the history, religious teachings, mass graves, criminal convictions, and government failures behind this tragedy.

In 1925, Mr Charles Trout started the East Berlin Nondenominational Sunday School, believing that every community needed to hear God's Word. In 1958, the Sunday School called their first pastor, Mr. Alexander Mattern and took steps to become the East Berlin Community Church. On Sunday, we celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the Sunday School and Church. With the uncertainty surrounding the future of the church with Pastor's retirement at the end of the year, we chose today to focus on the faithfulness of God! After recounting the history of the church we looked at Psalm 89, the contemplation of Ethan who lived in uncertain times. He too chose to celebrate God's faithfulness which is celebrated in heaven and seen in God's faithfulness to David. From what we learned about God's faithful character, the sermon ends with a few examples of God's faithfulness to the church family at EBCC. The fact that the church still exists is a testament to the faithfulness of our God!

Pastor Mock distills the essence, and liberally quotes from Calvin, on Calvin's treatise arguing for the cause of the Reformation.

The teaching presents a comprehensive overview of biblical history, structured around the recurring cycle of divine mercy, human apostasy, and subsequent judgment. It traces this pattern from the creation and fall of man through the patriarchal age, the Jewish age, and into the current Gentile church age, highlighting key events such as the Flood, the Exodus, and the Reformation. The speaker emphasizes that these historical accounts serve as admonitions for believers, illustrating God's consistent character and the necessity of trusting in Christ's atoning work. By contrasting the limited revelation of past generations with the fullness of the New Testament, the message urges listeners to recognize their unique privilege and accountability. The tone is both comforting regarding God's faithfulness and convicting regarding the urgency of repentance before the final judgment.

The 15th Century saw several influential men who challenged the Roman Catholic Church to reform both its doctrine and its morals. Like the noble Bereans, these men searched the Scriptures for the truth and articulated many of the same concerns that would later form the doctrinal and practical basis of the Protestant Reformation. As a result of the Renaissance, a reformation of doctrine and devotion was brewing across Europe. Despite the efforts of the popes to suppress it, it was about to explode and bring drastic change to the both the church and the world.

Christ is "coming again to judge the living and the dead." That is one of the basic truths believers confess. So important is the final judgment that the Bible devotes almost an entire book to that theme. Revelation reveals the closing chapters of the great drama of human history—the conflict between the offspring of the serpent and the offspring of the woman. In the judgment God will affirm his love to his dear children. But upon those who reject him and have sided with Satan will be judged. The seven bowls of God's wrath are Scriptures most intense portrayal of God's judgment. Whatever we feel about the judgment, it is coming. But we ought to feel something about the judgment. More than that, we ought to respond with godly zeal to the warnings God gives about the judgment. In Revelation, the Lord previews for his church "the things that must soon take place" to encourage them as they endure tribulation (Rev. 1:9).

The sermon examines the fourth woe in Isaiah, focusing on Judah's rebellion in seeking political alliances with Egypt rather than relying on God. It contrasts the futility of human schemes and the impending judgment described as a sudden collapse with the divine promise that salvation is found in repentance, rest, and quiet trust. The message highlights the historical context of King Ahaz and the Assyrian threat, illustrating how God uses external pressures to discipline His people. Ultimately, the sermon shifts to the hope of the millennium, assuring believers that God is in control of history and will fulfill His promises of restoration and eternal security for those who long for Him.
