If God forgets nothing, what does it mean that "God remembered Noah" (Genesis 8:1)? Read Exodus 2:24 and ask whether God's remembering is a memory brought back or His mercy put into action toward His own. Then ask why the same verse names "every living thing, and all the cattle" (Genesis 8:1) beside Noah. "And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;" (Genesis 8:1)

This sermon explores the difficult passage of 1 Peter 3:18-20, arguing that Christ, through the Holy Spirit, proclaimed the gospel to the rebellious generation of Noah. The speaker interprets the "spirits in prison" not as fallen angels, but as the wicked people of that era who were spiritually bound by their own sin and self-worship. By connecting this to the broader context of Christian conduct and the work of the Spirit in the Old Testament prophets, the message emphasizes that God has always worked to liberate humanity from the prison of darkness. The sermon serves as a pastoral encouragement for believers, assuring them that even in a hostile culture, the power of the Spirit enables effective witness and that God's patience and persistence in saving a few, as seen in the ark, should inspire perseverance in the church today.

In this sermon, Pastor Linehan begins a consideration of the historical story of the Ark of the Covenant in Scripture.

This is the second lesson on the Ark from the KJV Bible!

The Law (Tablets/Testimony) were kept inside the Ark of the Covenant. The mercy seat (the throne of God) is placed above the Ark. We ask you to think about this imagery to see something that most readers miss! Also Reference: Acts 13:38-39, Romans 10:4, 1 John 3:4, James 2:10, Galatians 3:13, Galatians 1:4-5 https://bbfohio.com
