The Weaponization of Polls
2026/10/20
We are exactly two weeks from Election Day. Early voting is underway in many states yet every day leading up to the elections we are hearing news reports and broadcast stories referring to the polls. "The polls say…," "polling indicates…," "if the election were held today the polls show…," "the latest polls show…," "today's presidential approval rating is…" and the list goes on and on. Are you aware that polls are given in such a way to influence voters? Are you aware that polls are often given to discourage donors from giving? With the legacy media being in the driver's seat to so many of these poll-related stories, are they attempting to correct past mistakes or are they part of an effort to discourage conservatives? Joining Jim to discuss the weaponization of polls was Craig DeRoche. Craig is president and CEO of Family Policy Alliance and former speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives. He is a frequent speaker and author on faith, culture, public policy, and civic engagement. Callers helped wrap up the program with their thoughts and questions on this important subject. Life on the Ballot
2026/10/19
With Election Day just two weeks away, we must be fully cognizant that life vs death, pro-life vs. pro-abortion is on the ballot. Those we elect to office and the ideals they hold will determine what type of policies advance, one to protect life, another to take life. Furthermore, a number of states have a referendum question on the ballot, a constitutional amendment which some states are seeking to enshrine abortion in their state constitution. Jim quoted from an article from LifeNews.com dated October 14, 2026. The article states, "House Democrats' health care working group handed House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries an 84-page playbook to run if they seize control in November. It maps out what they plan to do in their first 100 hours if they take back control of Congress. At the top of their list? Abortion. In their own words, they want to 'Reestablish a federal right to abortion care and end restrictions that prevent people covered through federal health programs from receiving abortion coverage.' In other words, abortion-on-demand nationwide, and you pay for it." In other words, some will literally be voting whether or not to add life or abortion to their state constitution. On this edition of Crosstalk you also hear about the recent report from the FDA that they will not complete their abortion pill safety review until March of 2027.

The 2026 Midterm Could Change the Future of America
2026/10/19
"This election, the future of America is at stake" – it's a bit like the boy who cried wolf. But this time it really may be true. The upcoming midterm features the biggest swings in our lifetime, with socialists, communists, and Islamists in the running. Kevin Swanson talks to Tim Barton of WallBuilders about what's going on nationwide, and how the future of America would fundamentally change if even 50 percent of evangelicals would actually vote. They discuss… - The misleading use of opinion polls to influence future votes, rather than reflect voter intention - Why the midterms matter easily as much as the presidential election for the future of America - What the stakes are in terms of real changes to expect in the nation, that would affect the typical Christian - The major ballot measures to keep an eye on (which are trending in a very positive direction and even crossing the political aisle!) Election Objection #1: That's Not Fair
2026/10/18
It is God's right to choose those he will save.
Heaven, Hell, and a Sovereign God
2026/10/18
The sermon looks at the relationship between God's absolute sovereignty over His creation and the provision of a great salvation for sinners. It shows that because God is the Creator who retains all rights over humanity, He has the authority to choose whom He saves, a truth often misunderstood as unjust by those who ignore their own depraved nature. The message emphasizes that while God elected specific individuals before the foundation of the world, He also issues a universal call for all to come to Him, making salvation available to anyone who seeks Him with genuine earnestness. By contrasting the vastness of the universe with God's intimate knowledge of each star and person, the preacher highlights the greatness of God's power and the supreme value of being made heirs with Christ. The tone is convicting and urgent, urging listeners to examine their hearts honestly and respond to God's drawing grace rather than rejecting the greatest gift offered to them.
Growing in Grace
2026/10/18
This sermon examines 2 Peter 1 as a call to progressive spiritual maturity, emphasizing that God's divine power supplies everything necessary for eternal life and godliness. The central message presents a 'chain' of virtues—faith, moral excellence, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love—that believers are to cultivate not through self-effort but by relying on God's grace. The preacher clarifies that this list is not legalism but a practical outworking of salvation, where the presence of these qualities confirms genuine faith and provides subjective assurance of election. By contrasting fruitful growth with the spiritual blindness of those who neglect these virtues, the sermon urges believers to diligently confirm their calling and secure their entrance into the eternal kingdom through daily dependence on Christ.
A Birth Like No Other (Part 3)

Intro 2: A Surprising Hero
2026/10/18
PM sermons are preceded by a Confessional, Catechism, Historic Creed lesson, or a lesson from the NT (Usually 5 minutes or so) WCF 5:1 God, the great Creator of all things, doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by his most wise and holy providence, according to his infallible fore-knowledge and the free and immutable counsel of his own will, to the praise of the glory of his wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy. 2 Although in relation to the foreknowledge and decree of God, the first cause, all things come to pass immutably and infallibly, yet by the same providence he ordereth them to fall out, according to the nature of second causes, either necessarily, freely, or contingently. 7 As the providence of God doth, in general, reach to all creatures, so, after a most special manner, it taketh care of his Church, and disposeth all things to the good thereof Is 45:1 Thus says the Lord to His anointed, To Cyrus, whose right hand I have held— To subdue nations before him And loose the armor of kings, To open before him the double doors, So that the gates will not be shut: 2 'I will go before you And make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze And cut the bars of iron. 3 I will give you the treasures of darkness And hidden riches of secret places, That you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel. 4 For Jacob My servant's sake, And Israel My elect, I have even called you by your name; I have named you, though you have not known Me. 5 I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though...
Definite Atonement: Doctrines of Grace #2
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the doctrine of definite atonement by examining the imagery of the shepherd and sheep in John 10. It argues that Christ's death was not merely a potential offer for all humanity but a specific, effective act to secure the salvation of those the Father gave to Him. The teaching highlights three key concepts from the text: the Father giving a specific people to the Son, the Son's intimate knowledge of His own, and the definite outcome of eternal life for the sheep. By contrasting this view with Arminianism, which suggests salvation is possible for all but actual for none, the sermon emphasizes the sovereignty of God and the sufficiency of Christ's work. Ultimately, the message offers believers profound comfort and security, asserting that their redemption is fully secured by Christ's finished work on the cross, independent of their own ongoing efforts or feelings.
Chosen In Christ
2026/10/18
This sermon explores the theological purpose of God's eternal election as presented in Ephesians 1:3-6, arguing that believers were chosen for holiness, adoption, and the praise of God's glory. The message clarifies that salvation is not merely about forgiveness but involves a transformative process where grace produces obedience, countering both legalism and antinomianism. It emphasizes the familial reality of adoption, urging believers to approach God with the confidence of children rather than the fear of outsiders, while grounding their identity in Christ's work rather than fluctuating emotions. The sermon concludes by directing the ultimate end of election toward the worship of God, warning against pride or speculation and encouraging a humble, awe-filled response to the sovereign grace that chose the elect before the foundation of the world.
