With Rev Paul Foster (Minister of Mourne FPC) preaching, and Mr Tommy Gilmore (Elder, Martyrs Memorial FPC) singing

This sermon examines the contrasting fates of apostles James and Peter in Acts 12, highlighting God's sovereign choice to martyr one and miraculously deliver the other. The central theme emphasizes the efficacy of the early church's ceaseless prayer for Peter, arguing that divine intervention often defies human expectations and timing. The speaker critiques the hypocrisy of religious leaders who possess a form of godliness but deny its power, contrasting their moral rot with the genuine faith of the believers. By reflecting on the angel's sudden appearance and the opening of the iron gate, the message encourages believers to stand firm in their convictions and trust in God's ability to act supernaturally, even when answers seem delayed or coincidental.
